Popular Post ACA5632 Posted January 13 Popular Post Share Posted January 13 Update#1 Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4) (70% --> 100%): I wish I played the ps5 version because the ps4 version is still very buggy. I still did enjoy the story of this game though. I did not really enjoy the end game grind. Finding all of those fast travel points was a little frustrating. I put this game down not too shortly after it released and Cyberpunk Edgerunners gave me some sort of motivation to go back and complete this one. Batman Arkham City (72% --> 87%): Hard on the grind of combat challenges and campaigns. I finished all ranked and campaigns for catwoman and all but 1 for batman to save it as plat #200 milestone. Currently working on nightwing ranked maps. Overall the challenges are pretty frustrating but not nearly as bad as I thought they would be. This will be a really satisfying 100% completion. Judgement (PS4) (4% --> 7%): Barely scratched the story on this one. Just completed chapter 3 last night. I'm very invested in the story right now and I'm very excited to see how it will play out. What I'm not looking forward to are the drone races and the dreaded Puyo Puyo. This one will definitely take me a while so I will probably be playing other games alongside this one. Stats Update: Total Completion Percentage: 95.87% --> 96.13% (+0.26%) Total Trophies: 8915 --> 8944 (+29) Platinum Trophies: 196 --> 197 (+1) Unearned Trophies: 399 --> 370 (-29) I'm also really close to 2 milestones, plat 200 and overall trophy 9000. My plans for these will be Arkham City for #200 and Spider-Man 2 plat for trophy 9000! I will post another update next Saturday if I can remember. I completed the 100% for Knight and City last year so I know exactly what you are going through with those. TBH I found Catwoman to be pretty easy, Robin and Nightwing gave me more trouble. My first non-handheld game console was the Playstation 2, and thanks to backwards compatibility, this was one of my first PS1 games back in 2001. As an 11 year old, I thought the combat system was fun, and, if I'm perfectly honest, it was my introduction to rhythm-based gameplay, too. No, it's not music-based. But, you do have to execute the character's additions (attacks) by hitting (and sometimes ) when two hit boxes align - the more perfect your timing, the more powerful your attacks will be. As a child, I didn't get past the first disk. But, memories of the gameplay stuck - to the point where I would go on to enjoy the Shadow Hearts trilogy as a teenager because it had a similar combat set-up. And, (music-based) rhythm games have become a core part of my gaming habits, too. But, beyond my personal nostalgia, I'm glad I returned to The Legend of Dragoon as an adult, as I was definitely able to appreciate the story beats in a way that would have gone over my head as a kid. You start off the game trying to save the protagonist's kidnapped childhood best friend. But, the game develops into a dragon-filled fantasy tale full of religious allegory & commentary on both racism and classism (with a touch of politics). Beyond that, there is an exploration of the meaning of family, and human relationships. Everything has a more mature tone, even if some of the writing / translation can come off as a bit cheesy / cliche at times. Will some of the plot twists seem predictable in 2024? Possibly. But, there were still one or two that took me by surprise. And, while there are some plot threads that don't get picked back up by the end of the game, there was enough variety and cohesiveness to the story to keep me engaged, topped off with an appropriately bittersweet ending. There also is some voice acting sprinkled throughout the game, which is a welcome touch / break from reading the traditional text-based dialogue. It has a very nice OST, too. Would I play this again on the PS5? Absolutely! And, if you haven't played this yet, I definitely think it's worth giving a shot! Beyond The Legend of Dragoon, I also finished Paraiso Island. There's really not much to say about the game beyond what I mentioned last week, and I generally would not recommend it. Otherwise, I completed the butterfly and lightning dodging mini-games in Final Fantasy X. I practiced the chocobo racing. But, need more time for that. (The mini-games were what stopped me from continuing with the plat when I went back to it in 2017, and I was reminded why - they are a complete headache. But, I never thought I would dodge the 200 lightning bolts. So... who knows, lol). Otherwise, the rest is just a long grind at this point. Finally, I returned to Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, and worked on getting the 50 full combos/chains in Normal mode songs. My goal for this upcoming week, is to plat Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory and get the final 70 online matches I need for Injustice 2. So, we'll see how things go. Red Dead Redemption 2 - PS5 - 8% => 10% Taking thjs one slow, enjoying every dialogue, side mission, random encounter, animals and just the map. Just finished chapter 3 and a bunch of non main mission stuff. Also did replay some missions if I was very close to the Gold medal requirements. Don't want to re-do the whole game just to get to the 70 Gold medals.... Rocket League + DLC (5/9) - PS4 - 56% => 77% Got the platinum back in 2016, after which a lot of DLC was launched. Some of which I played some not. Since RDR2 is progressing so slow I thought to take this one on the side just to make some progress towards my year goal of 5% increase. I had some random trophies of some DLC alreday unlocked so it is just a manner of finishing the remaining ones. Currently finished 4 of the 8 DLC remaining an counting.... It Takes Two - PS5 -57% => 65% Finally able to continue this with my oldest. I think we have now finished chapter 4 and we are still enjoying every minute of it. I hated this platinum with all my strenght but the challenges are being cool and going very well. I've already collected 80+ eggs, and it should be pretty smooth sailing from here. Just gotta get to the last world, Midnight Mountain, clear up a few levels to reach 100 eggs and defeat the Sorceress. Trophy completion percentage looks quite small but I'm actually almost there already. One Piece: Burning Blood (74% -> 91%) Finally cleared up the online trophies, so this platinum is basically secured already. Finished the trophies related to the WANTED posters. Now I just have to grind a bit more and the platinum is mine. Again, I should be able to finish this next week. Genshin Impact [NA & EU stacks] (98% -> 98%) Yep, still working towards getting Fontaine's reputation maxed. Will probably take me another 2 or 3 more weeks. I just hope that the 4.4 patch doesn't introduce any new DLC trophies (genshin tends to only release DLC packs on even-numbered patch numbers. when major new regions are added during odd-numbered patch numbers, they don't get any trophies related to these areas. no clue why.) Clicker Heroes (42% -> 42%) Forgot to mention in my week 1 update that I've been playing this game daily. It's an idle game that probably takes years to 100%. People have done it a lot faster by exploiting glitches, but the glitches have all since been patched and now I'm slowly working my way through it. It's not a difficult game at all - just extremely time consuming. I wish there were more trophies too, as the gameplay is pretty fun. I recently just transcended (and got 15 Ancient Souls) so that tremendously helps in the massive grind towards reaching Level 3600. Brawlhalla (94% -> 94%) No idea why I even bother with this game anymore tbh. I'm working towards the trophy 'I'd Rather Be SHINAYYY', which requires you to purchase a Goldforged item from the store. These 'Goldforged' items cost 2000 glory, and the only way to farm glory is to win ranked matches. You get 250 glory per season for qualifying for rankings (basically just playing a bunch of matches - doesnt matter if you win or lose) and 20 glory per win in ranked matches. With all the other games I'm playing, I simply don't have the time to login and win 100 matches. I've just been logging in every now and then to play for a bit and make some small progress in this, but I'd expect it to be a year or something before I even get this trophy. And here's the best part - I'm doing all of this for a single bronze trophy. Not my wisest decision, but I'll take any boost to my completion percentage. thanks for reading my text wall and have a great day/night! I also finally finished Prehistoric Dude which is a cheap Rata platformer which is harder to travese than it is to defeat the bosses. I eventually found the second boss and it died within 8 seconds netting me the Platinum. It's a fun hour or so, but nothing special. Even getting 2 plats and 99 trophies in two weeks hasn't helped my completion as it still is 0.10% lower than when I started. Popular Post stuthesheep Posted January 15 Popular Post Share Posted January 15 Last Week Grand Theft Auto V 47% -> 53% A Plague Tale: Innocence 0% -> 62% Started the week finishing off the 70 gold medals trophy in GTAV. No real problems in getting them, just worked my way down the list and knocked out #70 well before the end, one of the least stress-free UR trophies you could find. Still no real desire to jump into the online cesspit yet, so it'll be sitting at 53% for the forseeable. Compared to the 1% completion I was at for the last few years, I'll take that. Moving away from flashy cars and fancy technology and was off to Middle Ages France for the rest of the week. Really enjoyed Innocence for the most part - Chapter 5 might just have been the most disgusting and harrowing thing I've played for a while - absolutely loved it. Felt it went south a bit towards the end, moving away from the game telling you "stealth stealth stealth stealth" to the last chapter turning you into a John McClane-type hero (a French teenage girl aristocrat John McClane admittedly, but still) but that's a relatively small quibble - might have not been as much of a problem if I'd done a bit more practice in combat instead of ninja-ing my way silently through the game. Did a blind playthrough first, so the whole thing took slightly longer than I was expecting - particularly when I botched a boss fight in the penultimate chapter and ended up running around for almost an hour trying to kill someone I couldn't actually kill because I used my 'weapons' early. A quick Google and a chapter reset sorted that, but cost me a lot of time. However, thanks to a fortuitous assist from the Governor of New York, managed to find some time today to finish off the story. Working my way through the collectibles and miscellaneous clean-up now, currently making my way through Chapter 10 of 16, so shouldn't take too long to finish that. Will probably give Requiem a shot after this - interested to see where that story goes. The Elder Scrolls Online 4%, 7% Started the year by finally finishing the base game campaign and cleaning up the Coldharbour map for a couple trophies in the PS5 version which I then autopopped in the PS4 version. I plan to work on this game throughout the year. Medieval Dynasty 0 > 62 > 90% Started this in December and have spent most of January on it. I would describe it as a mix of Minecraft and Kingdom Come Deliverance. It's pretty easy if you use the in game modifiers which I highly recommend doing so. I'm not going to keep track of each weeks increase from the previous week I'll just update my current PCG and add it all up. The goal for next week is to be well into .40%s Immortals Fenyx Rising PS5 | 63/69 | 88% After a week of hard work I managed to get the first two DLC's done for Immortals Fenyx Rising. The first DLC was more of the same just more puzzles of which some where almost impossible to solve without a guide. The 2nd DLC was quite enjoyable and I breezed through it with ease. Now the 3rd DLC is different. Not sure if I like the changes but I'll have to get it done anyway so that's what is next on my to do list Call of Duty: Black Ops PS3 | 37/71 | 47% It's been a while since I've played a Call of Duty campaign. But Black Ops was actually pretty good. I did a quick run on easy to get the collectibles and most of the random stuff out of the way. I still need to finish my Veteran difficulty run but I'm currently stuck in a hallway I can't seem to get through. I'll probably try this run in little chunks and hope for the best. The most annoying part will be the Zombies... I've never been a fan of the Zombie Modes in Call of Duty games, but it's part of the game and sadly it has trophies. Here's my weekly update as well: Update #2: Anyway, here's my update: Final Fantasy Crystal Chonicles (57% -> 57%): Made a little progress with this. Currently at 62/79 artifacts. Didn't have much time to play this week, but did get a couple new artifacts, as well as the plans and a couple materials for my ultimate weapon. Maybe I will be able to get that this week, that would be really nice. Call of Duty: Black Ops (19% -> 26%): Got through a couple more veteran levels. On to chapter 7! Slowly but surely. Mirror's Edge (36% -> 36%): No update here, as I didn't have a chance to play Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God (25% -> 26%): Finished a dungeon and on the final one. Haven't made it through because I keep leaving the dungeon to make sure the items I get are stored safely. Freaking chickensquirrels keep eating my items, bastards. I did finish Reverie. Loved this little Zelda clone. Second time platinuming that little game. Go play it if you liked the OG Zeldas. Other than that, I haven't had much time to play. I think with Reverie finished up, the other games will start to increase, as I will need to keep my trophy streak up lol. How is everyone else doing? Popular Post PressContinue Posted January 15 Popular Post Share Posted January 15 Week 2 Update (1/8-1/14) Steins;Gate: My Darling's Embrace (6% --> 100%) I finally dug this one out of the backlog and finished it. I watched Steins;Gate a couple years ago and loved it, but for whatever reason I stopped reading Darling after about 15 minutes. After I really got into it though I was hooked. Darling is a lot more lighthearted than Steins;Gate and acts more as a dating sim, with Okabe traveling to different world lines and exploring his romantic relationship with all of the other main characters (except Daru). I would definitely recommend this if you're a fan of Steins;Gate and looking for some silly side stories set in the same universe. Hole io (0% --> 100%) I played a decent amount of this game back when it was just a free app for phones, so when I saw it on sale for $2.49 on the PS store I figured why not? It was fun at first, but after a few rounds it started feeling like a slog instead of being fun. The platinum would've been one annoying grind if it weren't for cloud save backups. Mirror 2 (80% --> 100%) I finally finished this one. Funnily enough, hell mode gave me less of a problem than hard mode did. I guess that's one of the benefits to a roguelite style, since I was able to continuously upgrade my stats. Either way, I'm glad I don't have to deal with challenge mode anymore. PGA Tour 2K21 (5% --> 79%) Another one from the backlog. I figured I'd tackle this one before 2K inevitably shuts the online servers down. I haven't seen an announcement about it, but better safe than sorry. I think it's dumb that yearly (or I guess every other year in this case) sports games have single player career modes that require an online connection to servers that can shut down at any time. Either way, I'm hoping to have this one cleaned up either today or tomorrow so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I believe it's also the same for Steins;Gate 0. As for Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child, Chaos;Head Noah got an English release on Switch and PC a little while back, and I'm pretty sure Chaos;Child has an English release on PS4. I know it's at least on Switch and PC too, so they are at least available in English somewhere, even if it's not together on PlayStation 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
