Happy MLK Day!

 

Finished my second game of the year, Trigger Witch. Took about 8 hours total. It was pretty fun, but never really got silly / crazy enough for me. I also played a little more Dysmantle but I'm having a hard time getting into it. The main game I played was Dark Souls Remastered. I didn't realize I never played the PS4 version, just PC, so I got a nice little surprise when I rested at that first campfire and the trophy popped. Oh well, never a bad time for more Dark Souls. 

 

Plans for this week are to keep playing Dark Souls and also knock out another quick game from my winter challenge list. Thinking Onimusha or Sakuna. We'll see.

16/01 update.

Finished days gone challenges pretty easy with the help of a channel on youtube borislav247. Very good strats. Now missing just ng+ but i will let this 30hours for later. Came back to ghostwire tokyo to finish the platinum and dlc which are waiting on my account for years because the game was a big disappointment for me, very boring and lots of collectibles and convinced my wife to help me with the dlcs of overcooked 2. Probably january i will do a big boost on completion with these 3

Not sure how much I'll update my progress along the way. As mentioned we're halfway through January and completion wise it's been good so far.

 

Started the year by finishing word sudoku, Telling Lies and Cat quest.

Telling Lies I lost track off the story, and just finished it for the plat. My gf have played it too, so it was my 2nd time trying it out as I tried to follow the story with her as well. Not a recommend.

 

Cat Quest I really enjoyed, so I'll dig into the sequels at some point too. It's cute, charming and got some funny dialouges. Combat is simple, but enjoyable. Overall cozy and relaxing to play for me.

 

Finished off the last 2 DLCs in Borderlands 3 which is just more borderlands. Do all story, side missions and crew challenges. 

 

Diablo IV, this was a long one to finish. Wasn't to bad till I got to about lvl 80-85 (season) from there it felt like a slog. On my first go pre season 1 I stopped at 50. Fun for a while, but not quite what I hoped it would be. Right now I just wanna play Diablo III 😅

 

And lastly I did Omno before leaving ps+ extra. What a nice little game, good music, visuals and atmosphere. Another cozy and relaxing game.

Got the trophy for completing 500 tasks and winning 3 games as an imposter via sabotage. Still quite a grind left to do though. I'm at 52/100 wins as a crewmate, 15/25 wins as an imposter, and 26!/150 kills. Yikes.

Well, here we are only 2 weeks into the year and I'm already adding new games not originally on my list. My 5 year old really wanted to play this one, so we are playing through it together. It's a little janky and has awful voice acting and writing, but it's not the worst game ever and the platforming is at least passable. My son loves it, so I guess that's what is important here. 😃

Here is where I've spent most of my gaming time this week. I've finished off the story (fantastic), and now have a bunch of clean up to do.

 

What's Next?

 

- work on cleanup of collectibles, side quests, and Valkyries in God of War.

- keep going through Kao the Kangaroo with my son

- pick away at the Among Us VR grind

- Probably won't get to it this week, but plat #150 is coming up on the horizon, and I'd like for Shadow of the Colossus to be that milestone. I played the PS2 original and it's one of my favorite games. I'll have to start that soon to get it lined up.

So tell me more? Ok so here we are working on completion PCG. As long as you are looking to increase that you can sign up. The goal is by year end to at least gain a 5% in your completion percentage. For some it may be more and that is encouraged. My motto last year was go big. But do what you can do. For those that are over 90 % that applies as well, set a reasonable goal for where you want to be. 

 

 So I am looking for a good say 25 players or more. Say you would like to join, give your starting pcg and what your goal percentage is.  After that is up to you how you raise your score. Do you go on one game until you earn 100%. Do you complete story modes or maybe just chip away at random trophies. There are endless possibilities. and this year there are monthly challenges to up the ante. 

 

So what are the rules? 

No cheating, shouldn't need to say it but you have to. Also the point is to play your games so games that allow you to skip playing it  such as Jak and Daxter should be avoided unless done legit.

 

Stacking is ok, but please no Autopopping. Same theory as above. Auto pops do not count for points for the monthly challenges. 

 

No hiding games you have started once the competition begins.  

 

 

Monthly Challenges

 

Below will be list of goals that can be claimed during a month. These are extra options to find ways to increase your completion percentage.  You can get complete more than one goal in a month but you do not get points for completing the same goal twice. For instance, one goal could be to complete a new game that you added to your profile that month. You cannot use that goal twice in one month, you can though get points for say also completing a game in another community event. You also cannot use the same game for various goals.  The next month you can again gain the points from any goal. For a game to count for a goal it must be from atleast the month prior 

Scoring

 

Each individual goal is 1 point

 

 10 points will be awarded when you hit the 5% goal or short term goal if you were over 90% to begin with. 

 

 hit that longer term goal and 25 points is yours. 

 

get points from every category, it will net you 50 points. 

 

 

Monthly goals:

 

Complete the game with the most common rarity on your profile. .

 

Complete the plat with the most rarity on your profile. 

 

Complete all the multiplayer trophies in a game. 

 

Complete a free game.

 

Complete a nonplatinum game

 

Complete a game for another community event

 

Complete the game with the highest completion percentage on your profile. For example, on my profile, Halloween forever sits at I believe 95% complete. This gives the motivation to finish those games that have those hard trophies. Must be from 2021 or before.

 

Complete a story mode from a game that you have not played in a year or more. 

 

Complete the oldest game on your profile. 

 

Complete a PS Plus game.

 

Snag 100 Trophies

 

Hit a PSNP milestone on your profile.

 

Finish a DLC for a game you have already completed. 

 

Move 5 games up in rank :IE( e-d, d-c, c-b, b-a, a-complete) One of each.

 

Complete a new game added to your profile that month. 

 

Get a UR trophy. Game must be atleast two months old. 

 

Raise your score by a whole PCG point. 

 

If there are more goals I am open to adding them. 

 

Get a trophy from every platform you own ( PS3/PS4/Vita/VR/PS5)

 

If you do not own the game/ system anymore or it is unobtainable, move on to the next one in that order that could be allowed for that specific goal. 

 

These goals are not mandatory. You can as always just have fun, push up that completion and inspire each other to finish those games that have been left behind because there are too many games and not enough time.

FIFA 22 82% --> 96%

Overall growth 62.01% --> 62.06%

 

1 week has passed and I would have expected that I completed FIFA 22 but Maxed Out is the last one that separates me from the rarest Platinum Trophy on my profile. I hope to complete it tonight by bridging the gap from lvl 17 to 25.

 

Fun fact: the rarity was on a similar level with LBP 3 last week, but somehow it got more rare and dropped 0.03% in a week.

 

Also played LittleBigPlanet 3 (with the kids), but putting all levels on 100% plus Acing them all takes time. The kids also tend to replay the same levels over and over again, which reminds me of the NES/SNES era.

Update#2

 

Happy Saturday everyone! Here's my updates from the week:

 

Batman Arkham City (87% --> 90%):

All Nighwing maps are finally done, Robin's ranked maps are done. Just Robin campaigns left before I have this game prepped for 100%. I'm really starting to feel the grind on this one. Some of the Nightwing campaigns were complete nightmares to complete and there were many times where I choked potentially successful runs and ended up back at the beginning of some of the hardest campaigns. After this experience I doubt I'm ready to start up Arkham Knight anytime soon.

 

Judgement (PS4) (7% --> 8%):

Still making my way through the story. I'm on chapter 5 now and planning to play through some more now that the end of Arkham is in sight.

 

God of War: Ragnarök (84% --> 100%):

Really fantastic dlc. Fun, addiciting and of course free! It took a little time to get back into the swing of things but I was quickly able to relearn how to play with the in game lessons the game offers. Great conclusion to Ragnarök and I can't wait to see what Santa Monica Studio does next.

Spent a lot of time being sick this week finishing this off. The collectible and side quest cleanup wasn't bad at all. Probably took only 1-2 hours to round up the collectibles I hadn't found naturally through my playthrough. The side quests all had interesting story to them so those were pretty enjoyable to complete. And I really enjoyed the challenge of defeating the Valkyrie queen. Super glad that I finally got around to playing this. Not sure what took me so long.

Next to no progress percentage wise for me this week. However I completed 1 of the 2 endgame grinds, that being posses 1 million coins. All that's left now is to die and play as my heir. Why is that a grind you ask, I have to wait for them to grow up before they become playable. Currently they are age 8 almost 9 so halfway there. I am basically just active idling it right now as full on AFK doesn't work. I figure less than 10 hours of active idling remains before the platinum.

January Week 2 Update (10/01/2024 - 21/01/2024)

 

This is about 4 days late but I haven't played anything in the last few days anyway, so we'll say it's a week 😂 This week has been another rough one work wise and I'm soooo ready for my annual leave next week. Changed up one of my goals and lowered my goal for the amount of platinum trophies I want to earn this year, as 100 just isn't attainable for me this year especially with all the long games coming out shortly and with me not having a great deal of time in the next few months to actually plat them. I've set it at 70 platinums instead as this feels more achievable to me! Anyway, let's get down to business!

 

Yakuza: Like a Dragon - 30% - 77%

Finally managed to finish the story for this masterpiece and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!, the ending was just amazing and left me wanting more! I also got round to completing a few sub-stories, mini-games and did some grinding in the dungeons before prying myself away from it to finally move on and start Gaiden. 

 

Like a Dragon: Gaiden - 0% - 17%

I'm currently only on Chapter 2 as I haven't had chance to play much, however, what I have played I have really enjoyed and I'm so happy to see Kiryu back in the driving seat again, even if it is just for a short while. I love the continuation from Yakuza 6 in terms of what happened to Kiryu in the end and also love seeing a new side of Kiryu. The new gameplay elements are good as well, I really like the new gadgets and such, and it makes the fighting feel fresh. My plan for today is to hopefully finish the story and then start some side content, but here's hoping!

Finally finished with the Spyro trilogy! Although the platinums weren't as enjoyable as I'd hoped, I'm still really glad to have completed an iconic Playstation videogame series.

 

One Piece: Burning Blood (91% -> 100%)

Finished this as well. The grind at the end was kind of boring, but it was only an hour of mindlessly dying to farm Beli.

 

Elden Ring (0% -> 0%)

After sitting on my 97.31% completion percentage for a couple of days (after finishing Spyro 3 and One Piece: Burning Blood), I finally decided to start on this amazing game. In hindsight, this was a VERY bad time to start playing Elden Ring. My school starts in a few weeks, and when that happens I'll only be able to play for about 2 hours a week. That being said, my god, is this game beautiful. I've only been able to play for a couple of hours, and Limgrave has already blown me away. Very excited to continue playing this game, and I'm even considering going for the platinum again on the PS5 (when I do get one soon). Planning for this to be my 50th platinum, so I'll just take my time with it and have fun.

 

Sword Art Online: Lost Song (0% -> 9%)

I've taken the habit of playing on my PS Vita for about an hour before sleeping every night, and so I started on SAO: LS on the Vita. I've always loved hack and slash games so this looks like it could be quite a lot of fun. Currently just going through the story, will (hopefully) finish this around the end of February.

 

Genshin Impact [EU] (98% -> 98%)

Realised that when I pop trophies in the NA stack, I'm actually autopopping trophies, so I'll remove the NA stack for future updates

 

Clicker Heroes (42% -> 42%)

The next trophies I can hope to get are still months away. This game is a brutal grind, but still really fun nonetheless.

I decided to do a dive and add a lot of stuff I wanted to complete in the racing genre all at once. With the length of some of these games, I may not hit my initial goal of 95% completion anymore, but it is going to make this challenge much more difficult and last longer (I was already only ~1.5% away from my goal after a couple weeks). I plan on upgrading my racing wheel in the next few months and having all of these racing games on there is going to motivate me.

Update 3: last week 76.23 %, got the plat for Hogwarts legacy, gotham Knight, and the dlc done for RE8. Got my overall precent to 76.38%. Next game will be gta 5, as some of the trophies soon will be unobtainable..

A nice symmetrical look to this week's report.

 

Finished off Innocence with minimal problems, pretty much all that was left was a bunch of collectible pick ups and with a guide it was done with the minimum of fuss. Slightly irritating having to replay whole chapters to pick up something right at the end, but not really a major issue.

 

Moved onto Requiem after that - which I think may be the first Essential game I've played on release month since my Month 1 back in October 2016. A bit thrown off at the start with the voice acting, as despite less than a year passing since the first game the characters somehow lost their French accents. It irritated me to the extent I even considered turning on the French dialogue instead, but unless Amicia and Hugo were ordering two beers or looking for directions to the train station I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on. That could have been avoided by turning on the subtitles I suppose, but I play video games so I don't have to read.

 

Still, after a couple of hours that irritation faded away and really enjoying the game - still a fair bit of the main story to go, it's a good bit longer than Innocence - not run into many problems along the way so far. This time around I'm following a (spoiler-free, thankfully) collectibles guide, so clean-up shouldn't take as long for this, which considering I'll need a hefty part of a second playthrough to max my skills out is a bit of a relief.

 

After that it looks like I'll have to go back to GTA V again to pick up the last Rockstar Editor trophy I need before that shuts down next month, which involves yet more collectible hunting *sigh* Shouldn't take too long though, then it'll be onto something else TBD.
