PS3 is currently my favorite console. The PS5 has far too many dealbreakers for me, so I'm more than happy to explore games I've never played on PS3. There were thousands of PS3 games released and I discover games I Have never heard of pretty much every week. Plus I can get physical games from 50 euro cents and rarely ever pay more than five. It's a great time to play PS3.

 

I'm yet to play a PS3 game with worse loading screens than Witcher 3 on PS4, and Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time!

I also don't have the time anymore to play all the games I'd like to, but that in itself is reason enough to not play on a system that has loading times longer than the Marianna Trench is deep.

 

This is actually surprising to me. Very interesting, I might need to look into that. Is there like a good deep-dive video you know of?

Loading times for the PS3 are reduced if you install an SSD. It's not going to be as fast as the PS5, but it does help.

yep, there is around 1 million players still active on PS3, some of them trophy hunters. In my case i rather play PS3 since the servers are soon to be down and also the lack of good games o PS5 that are not filled with DEI / Woke Crap. For now PS5 only has a handful or 2 of really great games. PS3 has a ton of them in different genres and styles that are a rarity compared to same stuff they produce every year.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that Sony does care about money. So much so that they postponed the closure of the Vita and PS3 stores. They are also still combating piracy on PS3. We just got a firmware update weeks ago to combat this.

 

They'll fix this. Just give it time.

I agree with you that they will fix it, it's probably some weird error or a fat finger. When I was boosting Assassin's Creed games before the server shutdown, I was trying to "buy" the DLC from the Hong Kong store, since it was actually free. The store across the whole of Asia was down, I was chatting to people who were having the same problem who lived in Asia. Sony never said anything and it just started working again two weeks later.

 

The firmware update was just for Blu-Ray DRM which they still release every year on PS3, it didn't do anything else.

Not sure if this was covered or mentioned, but is trophy sync on PS3 and Vita working correctly? I saw various posts saying it wasn't for certain people and some saying it was. I just wasn't sure.

Once every year, around this time, there's always a major issue with old-gen systems... like the undownloadble PS3 updates, the Vita weird expiration dates, first-party Plus games on Vita disappeared from libraries, the PS3/Vita download/activation issues... things going at the top of the PSDLE list once you redownload very old PS3/Vita content...

I honestly prefer playing my PS3, PSVITA, and PS4 collection rather than most of the current-gen titles which are empty, soulless, live service aspiring, MTX and cash cowing based.
