Popular Post DEI2EK
Platinum #84 UFC 2 Master of the Octagon 1.36% UR Went for this because of the shutdown announced for it, now i have the plats for 2 and 4. The low percentage is kind of surprising, the plat doesn't require anything difficult, just boring grinding. You can breeze through career mode and all the misc trophies within a few hours. The real grind is ultimate team. Getting to level 26 and 100k coins takes forever, especially since no one is playing online, which means you have to fight the computer. This isn't so bad because the computer isn't too hard to beat, but if halves your exp and money, so the grind takes twice as long. I'm sure the grind wouldn't have been so bad years back when people were actually playing it. As it is now it's almost impossible to get two trophies legit, completing the daily challenges and winning the championship online. Luckily someone helped me boost those. To those thinking about going for this, i urge you not to. You will need to do a lot of repetitive fights, and will need at least 3 alt accounts for boosting The Legend trophy because of the way matchmaking works. To fight someone you just fought, you have to fight two other people to get paired up with the original person again, making boosting very annoying, and means you have to switch between alt accounts frequently. Popular Post disaster500
#55 Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Great game, which is to be expected considering this game is pretty much Uncharted 4 with a different story. The game even managed to make me like Nadine, which is surprising considering the only thing in U4 she does is force you into terrible unwinnable "bossfights". I preferred Uncharted 4 on the first playthrough, but overall Lost Legacy was a better experience getting the platinum than U4 was. It's nowhere near as long as U4 so a second playthrough isn't as bad. LL doesn't have any really annoying trophies like U4's full game speedrun or multiplayer trophies either. Uncharted games best to worst on first playthrough: 3 > 2 > 4 > LL > 1 Uncharted games best to worst for getting the platinum: 3 > 2 > LL > 1 > 4 I now have all Uncharted platinums on PS4 which is pretty cool. I don't plan on getting a PS Vita for Golden Abyss, and I don't like stacking platinums so I won't play the Legacy of Thieves Collection, so I'm done with the series unless they make a brand new one. Overall a great set of games, highly recommend. Edited December 16, 2022 by disaster500

Popular Post Valzentia
#120 - Life is Strange (PS3) Difficulty: 1/10 Fun: 8/10 Was fun to go through this again on PS3. Played it on PS4 and loved it and had been meaning to snag the PS3 version. Brilliant game #121 - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Difficulty: 3/10 Fun: 7/10 As someone who's played Counter-Strike for over a decade i'm surprised more than anything that it took me this long to do CS:GO on PS3. The Eye to Eye trophy basically boils down to luck now that online servers are offline (though you can get all the trophies offline with bots), but it's quite manageable. You just need patience for the most part unless you've never played a tactical shooter. Other than that trophy, it's quite a simple list shockingly enough...it's way more time-consuming on PC.
Popular Post Destructor-8
Armored Core: Verdict Day - Platinum #124 The Perfect Mercenary 1.12% Community rating - 7-9/10 Personal rating - 8.5/10 Enjoyment - 8/10 I finished this last week but forgot to post here. I finished Armored Core: Verdict Day which was long overdue however it seems I finished it at the perfect time. I'll get into why later on though. I had the majority of this done quite a few months ago but I put it down after deciding to finish some pretty big games, which took a long time. I wasn't able to get the platinum in the previous game due to it being unobtainable from server closure, however this one was still possible to do. Armored Core is the longest running series that From Software has developed with Verdict Day being the 23rd entry & it's also within the 5th generation of the series itself. I can't explain the story as I never know what the fuck is going on lol. I think it's something about corporations fighting mainly, but basically you are a pilot that is sent on various missions & usually you are graded on performance in each of the games. This is usually a tough ask in whichever one you play though. The main thing that the company has always done is to make challenging games with higher base difficulty than most other ones. It's probably obvious but most will be familiar with the developers more successful series which is the Souls titles. These first came about with Demon Souls which was the 50th release from the developer, however since then that series really has taken off & made From Software more recognised. I got Elden Ring when it came out & put in about 250hrs into it. I want to eventually play more of these titles since these are something different personally for me to try out. The thing with the Armored Core series is that it's always been heavily complex with good knowledge on builds, whilst also having a very high entry level for skill. The first lot of missions in each of the games are usually doable, however it get's to a point where you will hit a brick wall since the difficulty curve shoots up pretty far lol. This is by far the toughest series I've ever played & regardless of how much time you put into these games, there are very few that can be competent at any one. This is a game that barely has 100 achievers over a period of almost a decade. There is a huge need for knowledge when tackling these so having a useful guide is really the decider on whether you'll be able to even finish the game. The trophy guide for this is arguably the most impressive that I've ever used.. I was able to do the majority of the story missions solo however the platinum requires you to S rank every single one & that is usually pretty insane to do. This was made for co op however so this does affect the experience entirely so I had help to clean up the rest that I needed. There are multiple requirements to get an S rank such as damage taken, ammo efficiency as well as side objectives (some of which are hidden), so usually there's a need for a combination all of these. The issue is though is that you sometimes can't afford to take damage & in something like this it's almost impossible to do that. The other thing that's required for completion is the world bosses & these are best done with a group of at least 3 but 4 would be highly recommended. I'd like to give a huge shoutout to @CelestialRequiem which is one of the guide writers that helped out a lot throughout all of this. It was much appreciated. The final thing that was required was the hardcore run, which is essentially a semi permadeath speedrun of the entire game. The catch is that there are a certain amount of lives to use depending on the class you pick. There's one called Gambler that has 5 lives to do it with. The modifiers that come with it are that you do 10x damage but receive 5x damage so it's a high risk, high reward return. It might seem like 5 lives is enough however you can get wiped out so fast & unexpectedly that calling it a semi permadeath run kind of flatters it. If I had to compare this to something then I'd say this is tougher than doing Challenge 6 in Vanquish since this is much more intense TPS & more brutal to do. This game doesn't fuck around & there was stuff in this that made the bogeys in Vanquish look tame. There's so many duo bosses in the latter part of the story that From Software probably went a little too overboard with these. There's more bosses in this than Elden Ring plus you have to do these back to back to back to back. The fights however are usually very quick however after 2-3hrs of doing a speedrun it only takes one thing to completely fuck everything up. The problem is that there is a huge difficulty spike when you are deep in the game where you have so many duo bosses to face. I got absolutely annihilated even with help from a video guide on how to approach all of these. There are some jumping bosses that were annoying but would go down quite quickly with dual sniper rifles but these could one shot you & were hard to hit. I fucked up multiple times losing stupid lives over not having enough awareness of what was going on. It only took a second & one single mistake to wipe all the progress that I made. It was only until a few missions later where there are another pair of duo bosses called Aegis & Iron Rose that will decide your run entirely so this is the worst part. I'll put a video below but it's a normal run without the modifiers, there's an extra ally in it that you can't use & the weapons/tactics will be different so it can't be approached the same way. The hardcore run you will get wiped out in a single hit & you must charge up double rail cannons to take both out. I fucked this up so many times since I would either miss my shot & fucked up or be sniped instantly. There are well known bosses such as Malenia that From Software have made but she doesn't compare to how difficult these were, since even with the best build then any player can still get wiped out by these. The bogeys from Challenge 6 as mentioned before were tame compared to these & you get very few attempts here, plus you can't even practice this. This is a huge reason why when it comes to TPS that this is a lot tougher than Vanquish to do. I did finally get this playthrough done after a few days of frustration & it's something that I would never want to do again. I don't mind a challenge but this shit really took the piss. This is definitely one of the toughest platinums I've ever done. The timing for getting this done as mentioned earlier was perfect as literally only a few hrs after I finished this game off, I went to watch the Video Game Awards 2022 stream only to get a long awaited announcement in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon that will be coming out soon. Popular Post MrGarland
Platinums #146 (PS4) and #147 (PS5) Spidersaurs (EU versions) + trophy guide + fastest achiever (PS5 version) Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 If there's any indie game developer that I'd consider as my favorite, it'd be Wayforward Technologies. I've only played a few of their games, but regardless of that, I've always enjoyed them. The gameplay works and the music is awesome. Same can be said about Spidersaurs, which I didn't hear about until earlier this year. Originally released for the Apple Arcade in 2017, Spidersaurs was rereleased for the modern consoles earlier this year, which also includes PS4 and PS5. In the most basic terms, the game is like a mix between Contra and Saturday morning cartoon. The question is, does it work well enough? Is it any good? The answer? Absolutely. I've played Contra in the past, though only for a few minutes which was a few years back in the convention. Even though I didn't play for very long, I have a good knowledge about these games and I know how challenging they can be. When it comes to Spidersaurs, however, it's nowhere as hard as the Contra series. That being said, it does offer a good amount of challenge, which can be further increased if you play on Rare difficulty. I didn't do my platinum runs on that difficulty, but I did do that once I got them done. All that can be said, it's much harder than I thought it would be. If you've played Mega Man 10 on Hard, you know what to expect. Tons of more enemies on each Mission, with no recovery items lying around, unless enemies drop them. That's how hard it is. What about the rest of the game? It's a short game, so I might as well keep it short too. For a game that has a Saturday morning cartoon style, it's actually well done. Lots of different weapons, a decent sense of humor and two playable characters, with Victoria being my favorite. I especially loved her "It's another me!" quote (sometimes heard when you get a 1-Up). That never got old. As for negatives, I really don't have much to say. My only complaints are from Mission 3. First of all, the mini boss was an absolute pain to deal with and that's because it tends to be random. Avoiding its bounce attack is annoying and getting through that without taking damage is hard. As if that wasn't enough, the actual boss, while nowhere as bad, was the least favorite boss of mine in the game. However, it also suffers from randomness. Sometimes, you can damage shortly after the battle starts while sometimes it might do the same attacks multiple times in a row and you have to wait for your turn. Oh, and let's add some meteorites to spice things up a little. To sum it up, I had to restart the Mission so many times till I got lucky enough and managed to complete it without dying for 1 Shot Deputy. There is a checkpoint after the mini boss, but here's the thing. The checkpoint only works if you get a game over or if you revisit the Mission. Quitting will send you back. Other than that, I enjoyed the boss battles. Also, as a special occasion, I've created a trophy guide for this game. Originally, I didn't plan to do so, but after a few test runs, I decided to give it a try. How did it go? First of all, since it was my first one, writing it took me a while. Not only that, but choosing the right words for descriptions was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Despite that I plan the text very carefully (regardless if it's for forum posting or something else), I had to change the descriptions of some of the trophies numerous times. I also had to learn all the different editing tools and at least one of them took me the most time to learn. Doing the test runs on the other hand, were much easier, even though I had to do more than enough of them. Like I said last time, I didn't want to half-ass it and I decided to put as much effort as I could. After several weeks of delays, I finally got it done. The amount of time I spent on this guide is unknown, but it must've taken me at least 15-30 hours over the past few weeks to complete (test runs included), despite that the platinum takes about a few hours. It was also somewhat exhausting, but even with that, I'd say I had a lot of fun creating it. I have another game in my mind that I'll create a trophy guide for, but it'll take some time till I start working on that. Someday in 2023, it might happen. I won't reveal what game it is, but I'll say that it's something I'm familiar with and I've been planning to do it since late 2021. Finally, the speedrun. Last time I said that besides the trophy guide, I was planning to speedrun the platinum. Did I succeed? Even with all the knowledge I had, it wasn't exactly easy. For the PS4 version, despite that it ended up being disastrous (all thanks to the mini boss in Mission 3 which cost me more attempts than the actual boss in the same Mission), I still made it with a decent margin and got the 2nd fastest achiever spot. What about the PS5 version? The speedrun in this version went much better, even though I did fail a few times in Mission 3. Still, even with all the mistakes, I got much better time and managed to secure the fastest achiever's spot. Sucks that I just barely missed my goal (2,5 hours or under), but I'm satisfied with the time I got (2 hours, 32 minutes). Of course, it's entirely possible to get the platinum in under 2 hours, but it requires that you clear the game flawlessly and getting past some of the parts without dying is very hard, with Mission 3 being easily the worst part. All I can say about that, screw the mini boss. It's the worst one in the game and getting past that without dying, let alone without taking damage, is hard. Same can be said about the main boss in the same Mission. It's not hard, but the random pattern makes it annoying. So, what did I achieve? To sum it up, I played a fun and moderately challenging game, got a double platinum, made a trophy guide for that game and managed to secure myself the fastest achiever's spot, which I'm proud of. I'm sure I'll lose it someday and I'll be waiting for that day, but for now, I'll take it easy. For closing words, I enjoyed it. I might as well consider this as a hidden gem. When I saw the trailer earlier this year and gave it a test run later, I decided to give this one a try whenever I'd get a chance and I'm glad I did it. A job well done. Finally, shown below are a couple of trophy screenshots I got from both versions, as well as my records from both the Story Mode and the Arcade Mode. PS4: Spoiler PS5: Spoiler Next project: Not much left till my 150th milestone. Before it's time to work on that, I thought I'd get the last platinums of the year before I'll take a break for a while. I'll tell you more about that next time. Anyway, the next project is another special case for me, as it's going to give me a lot of nostalgic memories. Popular Post RoastedPeanut
# 211 - Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef (PS4) I was looking forward to this one for awhile, but in the end it was pretty average. The story took around 2 hours to complete and then there really wasn't much more to do apart from reply some levels to get the kill related trophies (killing 25 space marines didn't pop until I killed 29). The trophy for finishing all levels also glitched, but this one was in my favour when it popped around 2/3 of the way through the game. The online is also dead from the get go. I tried multiple times to find a game for the two online trophies but never once found another session so had to boost that one. I can't speak about the PS5 version, but there was some insane lag on PS4 when things got a bit intense which was a real pain.

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #253 Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition True Survivor Unlock every Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition trophy. I would've liked to platinum the PS3 version alongside this one, like Bayonetta, but due to the online requiring four total people to boost it'd take forever and I really wanted to bust this version out since I just happened to get enough together... yesterday to get it done. Thankfully. Still baffles the mind they wasted money developing multiplayer for this. Especially when they have to change the controls from the single player to do so. I digress. I didn't play through the whole game again, but playing through for the awful Chatterbox trophy I see the game has many flaws narratively. Obviously the gameplay and narrative dissonance where the game wants us to believe Plot Lara is this meek character that's traumatized by the horrors around her and what she has to do to survive... but the gameplay says otherwise. It's not as apparent in something like Uncharted, because you never see Nate go "Oh no, I had to murder you! Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo". That's highlighting the problem, but still deciding to have the same character mow down endless hordes of people. I feel like if they wanted her to be this way and keep that level of impact for her to kill people, they should've used it sparingly and focused on killing animals, even do some dinosaurs like the classics. Reduce the shooting down and add in more puzzles... you know, like a Tomb Raider game rather thank making Uncharted: Tomb Raider Edition. I don't hate the end result, it's just the flaws are more apparent when you replay it. Especially two times (PS3/PS4 I missed chatterbox... also that counter ability and had already maxed so had to grind it out in my replay). Speaking of missed trophies the first go around, I managed to get on PS3 when getting collectables that rope pulling one. That thing doens't work half the time and the enemies don't visually dodge it like a load screen says they will, but whatever. I was on the beach and enemies just happened to show up there walking up that platform where you walk to start jumping around rocks to get to the other side on the way to the Endurance and I was able to pull one off. And luckily in 2013 when I last played, I had gotten 4 pulled off somehow and the trophy popped. What a relief, as I do not like using the rope on enemies. It just doesn't feel consistent. I just found that a neat little anacdote that by the time I plat the PS3 version will probably forget so I'll put it here instead. Where was I... oh, I don't mind the grunts and pain sounds Lara makes. It makes sense to me. If you lived through what she manages you wouldn't shrug it off. I'm just not a fan of the overly gruesome death animations. Didn't like them 9 years ago either. There are multiple times up to achieving Chatterbox that I thought in retrospect should've been Lara's "fuck it" moment where she should haev shifted from who she is the whole game to a new version of herself. Not necessarily the iconic Lara, but at least not such a whiner. Despite her pushing forward and showcasing bravery, it's still stuck with the whole "origins" thing. I heard Rise/Shadow don't really take it all the way to the Lara Croft we know, but I'll probably finally play Rise and see what that's like since I did buy it. I never bought Shadow. They really pissed me off with the exclusivity nonsense so I got Rise at $20 and then never played it, but Shadow came and went. I digress again. I would've much preferred some more skill based trophies in the game to replace the tedious MP trophies. Especially for the remaster on PS4. They should've removed the online from this version. The idea of picking up more med kits on PS3 makes my mind want to go into stasis. I felt half asleep the last 2 levels on PS4. At least I'm already level 30 on PS3. But still. One thing I still really liked and thought back in 2013 was that the pickaxe climbing made the traversal less brainless and dumb. It's not the perfect solution to how awful traversal is as a gameplay mechanic, but it improved on Uncharted. Good for you Tomb Raider. Enough insomnia ramblings for today. As I continue a thought I just had; I never expected to bother to get the platinum in either version of this game. I resigned to that in 2013 and again in 2014. But it's nice to get at least one, and I do want to get the other if I can manage to get 3 other people to get these dumb MP trophies. But until then, it feels really good to kick this game, either version, off my list forever. Okay now rambling over.

Popular Post Redgrave
#263: Platinum Trophy - Metro Exodus I played the first two games in the winter years ago and I figured I would finish the trilogy off during the same winter month because nothing says winter and holiday cheer like fighting bandits, mutants, and radiation in a post-apocalyptic Russian landscape. But yeah, I had wanted to play Exodus for a while but waited until I could get the PS5 version to take advantage of the features and getting all the DLC that comes with it. It had been a long time since I had played the previous two but I remember really liking them and I feel like Exodus is just as good as the previous two. Instead of a metro system while occasionally heading outside into the ruins of Moscow, in Exodus as the title implies is basically Artyom, his tomboy wife Anna, and the other Spartans leaving the metro on a train with the dream to find another place free of radiation and mutants while coming across other people realizing they aren't the only survivors out in the world. While I am pretty sure there are less chapters in Exodus compared to the previous two games, the game makes up for it by having them take place on a few maps that are big enough to where they are kind of open-world but not really since the story path is pretty straightforward and there's not much in the way of side-quests or really NPC's to talk to and interact with like you would normally expect in a big map. Each map is mostly different with only two of them being kind of similar but still different enough to where there is enough variety and all take place in real places. The first place you visit is The Volga which in real life is a nice river but in Exodus it's a swamp run by cultists that worship a giant catfish. Had this taken place in America this premise most definitely would have been in Louisiana. After that is a place called Yamantau which is a mountain base but the twist there I won't spoil. The level is brief and linear so there's no real exploration like the other maps. After that is the Caspian Sea in Kazakhstan which is a desert with oil fields run by a Baron and the only thing keeping the place from feeling like Mad Max was that the people there don't drive around in scrapped together race cars and dune buggies. The third is Taiga with another twist I won't mention because I thought it was good, but it's surprisingly well off for the most part since it seems like the bombs didn't hit it too hard. The final level is ominously named Dead City that takes place in Novosibirsk and because of the radiation level being so high it's the only place without bandits understandably. Notice that I didn't say there's no mutants though. The only other hubworld you get is the train called Aurora that you get to interact with the other Spartan members and hear them talk about stuff for character building and exposition, so beyond that and getting collectibles there isn't really much to do on it. That said, the idea of an armored train that's kind of a makeshift home and exploring different landscapes is a pretty comfy idea to me. It is kind of strange how apparently the train tracks they were on weren't blown up but the game does take place over the course of almost a year and so they could have run into off-screen problems like destroyed tracks or something. Or maybe you're just not supposed to think about it. Anyway gameplay is pretty similar to the previous two where you can stealth or shoot your way through encounters but there's also kind of a crafting element to it to where you can collect resources and craft ammo or use them to repair your mask and clean your guns which will get dirty pretty often. There's no trading in this game like the previous two so using bullets as currency isn't a thing and what you loot is basically what you keep which ranges from resources to weapon attachments to customize your guns. But also like the previous two games, there is a moral system which is unfortunately not much clear than the previous two games because what causes you to lose or gain moral points that affect certain outcomes can be really vague and unclear. Thankfully though, the first area in the game, The Volga, is probably the worst of it because apparently there are really specific things you have to do in order to get the good outcome of that chapter. When doing my first playthrough I wound up replaying the chapter twice because I tried to get the good ending in my first playthrough but because of something I have no idea what I even did I wound up getting the bad ending and so I just accepted it and went for the bad ending of the game which in hindsight I guess is fine because I like to end a game on the good ending if I can help it. But anyway, what you do in The Volga to get the ending seems to be affected by how you treat the cultists. Supposedly all you have to do is not kill any of them and you're clear, but I know for a fact I didn't and I still got the bad ending for some reason. Supposedly you can get negative moral points by shining a light in their face because they hate technology which I know I did because the room a group of prisoners were in was too dark for me to see. So if that is the case then it's really unfair that something that specific can just negate the good ending. The only other thing I suspect could have affected it was that I killed their stupid big catfish for the trophy but people also said they killed the fish and still got the good ending. You're told by Anna and the others that the cultists shouldn't be shot at because they are just misguided but they tried to kill me and they feed people to their fish so as far as I'm concerned I should be allowed to feed them all to their dumb fish. And by all of them I don't mean just the men, but the women and the children too. I hate them! Thankfully though it didn't give me any trouble on my second playthrough but I did back up my save just in case. The levels later are pretty easy to get the good ending on although in The Caspian you're supposed to free slaves and I guess if you don't save a couple very specific ones that you can easily miss you won't get the good ending there either. Taiga has a trophy tied to being stealthy the whole level, so you're guaranteed the good ending if you do that and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be because there's a lot of ways to approach the areas and can even skip a couple. Dead City as far as I know doesn't have any moral point related things since the only enemies there are mutants. If anything I guess it's just the culmination of all your moral points to see which ending you get. Accompanying you throughout the journey are the other Spartans from the order led by Anna's father and depending on the outcomes of each chapter there are either sad moments or there are nice bonding moments. On the bad path I really wound up hating Alyosha because he basically throws out all the brotherly love and acts like a passive-aggressive dickhead towards Artyom over a woman he barely met a day ago. But perhaps the best of them all is Artyom's wife Anna who is not only a beautiful tomboy babe but she acts sweet and caring even on the bad ending path. On the good ending path along with giving hugs and having a moment where you can have her lay her head on your lap, she kind of gushes about how much she loves Artyom (you) during the wind down moments on the Aurora and that more people should act like you. Truly the wife material you would want in such a horribly radiated landscape full of mutants and bandits. On top of that, I played with the Russian dub and it could be my bias but I found her voice in the Russian audio rather nice. I have already gone over the moral system so I won't repeat it for the trophies but apart from that the trophies are kind of similar to the previous games where there is some misc stuff like being stealthy in some sections or getting a certain amount of kills with specific weapons. I don't remember if it was like it in the previous games but it's pretty easy to farm kills since you can just do a quicksave and then reload and the kills will count. There is also a Ranger Hardcore difficulty trophy but there's a glitch that at this point might as well be safe to say won't ever get patched that lets you get the trophy without doing a full second playthrough. So yeah, that's Metro Exodus and I guess that's it for the whole trilogy that I definitely hold something of a soft spot for. I guess it doesn't look like there will be another one because one of the lead devs died recently among other political events I don't think I need to elaborate on and so I guess I'm just glad Exodus got to be made. I did read that there were other books in the series that take place beyond Moscow, one of which is called The Roots of Heaven that I read a summary on. In that one, it takes place in Italy and because of all the stuff that happens in it I could see it being a very great game. On top of that, the Sam's Story DLC could probably lead to sequel potential too, but I guess for now I will just accept that Artyom and the others got the ending they deserved in the good ending.
