Popular Post NorbR338055
#40 - Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Well it's definitely not perfect, but it's exactly the game I wanted. I really really enjoyed this, from start to finish. Thanks Respawn! The positives: first and foremost, the story. I thought that was not just good, but very Star Wars too. It's a great time period in the saga, and this story fits in really well. If it had been a movie, an Episode 3.5, I'd totally watch that. The combat is mostly good, I sometimes wished that there'd be more options for ranged combat, but I guess that's not the Jedi way. Otherwise the abilities are really fun, and force pulling and pushing enemies around just never gets old. The graphics are very nice, but plagued by performance issues. Even on a Pro, frame drops are recurrent, and transitions between areas sometimes just freeze for a few seconds. Not too bad, but definitely noticeable. Some of the faces are also weird at times. Coming from Death Stranding, the step down was clear. Overall it's a game that takes inspiration from a lot of classics of the past few years, and combine what makes them great to deliver a fantastic experience, not just for Star Wars fans, but just a great game altogether. Glad it's a milestone plat for me!
Popular Post Redgrave
#165: A New Hope - Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order This is probably the first actual Star Wars game I've played since I think The Old Republic MMO back in 2011/2012 since I know I wouldn't have liked the Battlefront games especially all the issues surrounding them so I settled for this since there's no multiplayer or anything. I do feel mixed about this one and it's kind of hard to really go into it right away. I think the best way to describe it is the game feels like it has something of an identity crisis. It feels like it wants to be Dark Souls but also a Metroidvania but also something like Uncharted and it didn't really feel like they meshed too well at times. There's been talk of the game being rushed and I can definitely see that especially about halfway through the story and the end where it just feels like it ends. The parts that are good do feel like they weren't rushed though. Like I wound up liking Cal and his relationship with the droid and Greez since I felt like they had a nice dynamic that felt pretty Star Wars-y. The saber combat felt fine for the most part and I liked a couple of the boss fights. Although I still consider Jedi Academy combat still way above it. Using the Force powers during certain situations was kind of fun too although I didn't feel like I got too much mileage out of it until I was near the end of the game. I also appreciate being able to customize the lightsaber. I wish you could have gotten more costume variety though since I would have liked to have had more than ponchos and a jacket and I didn't really see the point of painting the ship when you don't really fly it. The most frustrating thing of all of it though were the sliding segments which I didn't feel like were tested. Most of the time I would fall off during a sliding segment because I nudged in a certain direction slightly and somehow went off course and if I tried turning too hard I would fall off course or if I didn't jump a certain way I would fall off an edge anyway. It felt like it wanted you to be too precise but because of how wonky it was it made it twice as difficult as it should have been. Something where you can control your sliding speed and momentum would have alleviated that a lot which is why I think the sliding segments either weren't tested or added in very late into development. Other than that I think enemy variety could have been better. Fighting the Stormtroopers and Nightbrothers was fine but most of the time I felt like I was fighting the bug monsters more than them and I felt more like glorified pest control than a Jedi Knight. I think it would have been cool to include a level that took place on a seedy underworld sort of planet so that way you fight thugs and mercenaries. I know there were the bounty hunters but they were all pretty much the same and the novelty wore off after the first few encounters. I did like the idea of the bounty hunters though. But yeah, after basically being starved for a Star Wars game after so long I can't say I loved this one but I do think there is some credit where credit is due and I want to think Respawn did want to do a lot more but got rushed at some point. If they do something similar or make a sequel and it had more of a variety of planets and enemies I think I would be more welcoming of it.

Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #79 Aragami Aragami is a stealth game with an interesting premise: you play with a shadow user that can move between shadows to hide and kill your enemies, while helping your summoner, Yamiko. Stealth is not one of the my main genres, but I usually like the stealth parts on many games I played. This game trophies can be divided in four: the first are unmissable story trophies, the second are many miscellaneous trophies, all of them really easy. You may even get most of then without even knowing. There are only 2 that I can think of that you may not earn naturally, but they're very simple, so do not worry about them. The third are the collectible scrolls, and the last part is the most important. After each chapter, you will have a score based on the points you earned, and you can earn medals: one for not alerting enemies, one for killing all enemies and last for not killing. Here is the problem: you will have to all kill enemies or none, and this greatly impact your playthrough. On my first run I did the no kills run, and I thought the game was hard. In some areas I died over and over, and felt like the shadow mechanic was not accurate enough. At the time I didnt think high of the game. On my second run, to achieve the other two medals, my opinion changed and I liked the game more. Being able to get rid of annoying enemies is amazing, and you have plenty of different powers to use, so you can employ different strategies. A tip for the oni playthrough: you have no way to tell during the chapter if you killed all enemies or not. Something that I did and never failed was, after clearing an area, running through it using a certain item that you get later on that lure nearby enemies. If there is someone neaby, even if they're not on your screen, an interrogation mark will appear, which means there is an enemy. Another thing that made my first playthrough harder was collecting the scrolls. They offer more information about the story and give you skills points, but are usually well hidden. Luckly we have a very cheap skill that show where they are, and it costs only 3 points, so you can pick it early on and start collecting these. If you do this while attempting the oni playthrough I think getting the scrolls become easier, but the more powers you have, the easier the oni medals become, so choose wisely. Since this is a low budget game, dont expect great graphics. I think the game looks okay, but the way the characters move is really outdated, they're really stiff. Also I didnt like the story that much, but if there is something that they did well was the soundtrack. During my first playthrough, when the chapters took longer, I felt really immersed in the music. If you want a short platinum, or if you want to play a different stealth game, Aragami can be the game for you.

Popular Post djb5f
#73 Late Shift Difficulty 2/10 Enjoyment 8/10 I was late to this game after learning about “Erica” and a thread about other similar games and this one peaked my interest. The game is short which works to your advantage when collecting the trophies for the different endings. The setup/premise hooks you in pretty quickly, although I did enjoy the first half more than the second half. If is generally well acted (by video game standards certainly) and I look forward to playing more games in this genre. #74 Monster Energy Supercross Difficulty 2/10 Enjoyment 7.5/10 This game came free with PS Plus and honestly is my favorite PS Plus game for 2019 that I did not already own (so The Last of Us, MLB the Show 19, and Detroit: Become Human excluded). It is a casual game so fun/easy to jump in and race. The platinum is very straight-forward (easy), you can do on the lowest difficulty if you desire. The bikes handle well and if you wreck or miss a turn you can just rewind and correct it lol. I am keeping this game installed for when I want to hit the races when I have 30 minutes to screw around. The game could be deeper but for what it is, it does well. I enjoy the rumble sensation going over the bumps. For more fun, set the difficulty to something that is slightly challenging at least.
Popular Post Conor
#2500 #46- FALLOUT 3 (PS3) Platinum Trophy Enjoyment: 8.5/10 (a potential 9.5/10 without the bugs and freezes) Difficulty: 3/10 Time Taken: 5 Months, 3 Weeks, 4 Days (60 Hours in-game) Rarity: 2.7% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 13.49% Rare (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Vault -Tec CEO (Gold)- Collect 20 Vault- Tec Bobbleheads "War... war never changes..." Oh Bethesda, Bethesda, Bethesda... how far you have fallen. Back when Bethesda was a respected games developer, they put out some awesome stuff like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3, but nowadays they're public enemy Number 1 alongside Activision and Blizzard (another tragic fall from grace). Where did it all go wrong? Unfortunately, I think some of the warning signs were already here and present, people just gave it a pass back then. Fallout 3 is a great game, make no mistake. To compare it to the dumpster fire that is Fallout 76 is utter nonsense, they shouldn't be mentioned is the same sentence, so far and wide is the quality gap between them. But at the same time, it is a very buggy one. Yes, I played the Game of the Year Edition which bundled all of the DLC in without a patch to download, but that is no excuse. To be fair, the main campaign of the game gave me very few issues, just the occasional slowdown and a freeze once or twice, but the auto saving is pretty generous if you're fast travelling a lot. I won't give it grief for the constant loading times when going into buildings/ areas because that's just how Bethesda games were back in the 00's. But when it came to the DLC, well, it just became inexcusable. So many freezes, bugs, glitches and much frustration marred the experience somewhat, having to delete the game data every time I was getting persistant freezing problem- at least one per DLC section. Infuriating! I'd never played the Mothership Zeta or Point Lookout expansions on Xbox 360 so it was cool to get a new experience from such an old game, but they weren't really all that special, though the alien weapons you get in MZ were pretty cool, and among the most effective weapons in the game combined with a high Energy Weapons skill. I do love this game, having some great memories from my 360 days. To be honest, I'd forgotten about a good chunk of it so it was great to re-experience the game. Liam Neeson makes everything better so it's cool he voices your dad here. The quests are interesting and aside from the green-blue tint that I could happily remove with mods on a PC, the world looks horrifyingly beautiful. You have so much freedom and choice in the world and the side-quests are interesting too (I mean, a human tree, who thinks of this stuff!). I actually never got to every location this time around because I got everything I needed and wasn't going for a completionist run this time around, I did all of that years ago. I chose a Good Karma run because it was very easy to go down into Neutral and Evil Karma by just killing a few folk! I'll also never get over what an ungrateful little bitch Amata is after everything I did for her! Also, never found Dogmeat; must have been a glitch because he never showed up at the Scrapyard like he's supposed to. At least Fawkes made for a great companion, I never bothered with anyone else, too fragile. The trophies are fine enough, though some tactical saving is required to get all of the karma trophies to avoid multiple playthroughs. Some of the Vault Tec bobbleheads really require you to go out of your way and one is even missable so that's why I have it as the "hardest" trophy. The shooting mechanics also really aren't all that great, very janky by today's standards. I'm sure this was the result of using the same engine as Oblivion; they were fine back in the day but they really don't hold up in this day and age- one becomes very dependent on the V.A.T.S. system to score optimal hits as weapon degradation is a good bit faster than I thought I remembered. In all, a fantastic game though certainly showing its age a bit at this stage. I still highly recommend it but also to avoid the Game of the Year edition if possible. Good to have this plat as well as my 2500th trophy milestone! Edited December 16, 2019 by Stan Lee

Popular Post ZitMeatloaf
#37 - Day of the Tentacle Remastered "OCD" This is another old remastered PC point-and-click adventure game, originally released in 1993. Since I enjoyed Grim Fandango, I thought I'd give this a shot as well. While I was at least vaguely aware of Grim Fandango before playing that, I didn't know anything about this. Or that apparently it's the sequel to Maniac Mansion, another game I know nothing about. Overall I enjoyed it. The humor holds up well, and the animations are still quite funny, even with the limitations of the era (in the commentary, one of original developers said they were limited to only 20 or 30% of the pixels on screen moving at any given time). You can also switch back and forth at any time between the original 1993 visuals/sound and the remastered versions, which is really neat. Funniest moment: Offering George Washington a "most excellent smoke", which is in fact an exploding cigar, and sending his dentures flying across the room. #38 - The Wolf Among Us "Full Moon" My Telltale experience is limited, but of the games I've played that follow their traditional game play formula, this has been may favorite (SBCG4AP would be my favorite Telltale game, but its game play is different and is more about Strong Bad/Homestar Runner humor, which I love). It was much better than Tales From the Borderlands, and makes me interested in the Fables comic series. Not that I have time to read those, but still... I was between episodes 4 and 5 and really enjoying the game when season 2 was re-announced during The Game Awards, so I was excited to see that. But I really hope the new management/ownership over Telltale will let them switch game engines to something more competent, because Telltale's old in-house engine is pretty damn janky. Still, an excellent story and enjoyable game. Funniest moment: "Gren won't remember this."
Popular Post Sofa King
126 Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition Another plat for another game that sat incomplete on my profile for far too long. I thought it was just as fun to play as the original game, though War was a better protagonist than Death in my opinion. The game itself isn't too much of a challenge even on Deathinitive difficulty, but the collectibles are the biggest hassle though. There are a lot of them, many in some out of the way areas but manageable with a guide. Lots of things to do, equipment and stats to juggle with, and some fun boss fights and environments made this an enjoyable game and plat to earn.

Popular Post madbuk
#348 - De Blob I played De Blob 2 years ago and enjoyed it quite a bit, so I was glad when this remaster was announced for PS4. Unlike De Blob 2 this game doesn't take away the timer once you've finished every challenge in a level, nor does it have cheat codes for extra time, so I was a bit worried about how strict the time limits would be to 100% a stage but I always finished with at least 10 minutes to spare outside of the final level so it's very lenient. I looked at some Wii footage of this game (as it was previously a Wii exclusive) and it would appear as though you needed to shake the Wii remote every time you want to jump and that just sounds like complete hell, since this is a platformer, and I'm so glad there's no use of motion controls at all in this port of it. I'm looking forward to redoing De Blob 2 eventually on PS4, this is a pretty fun franchise (tbf 3D platforming is my favourite genre.) I hope THQ make a De Blob 3 at some point.
Popular Post KIERONOO
100 hours later and have the death stranding platinum. What a game my favorite of 2019. It’s absolutely not for everyone and even my first 3 hours were not clocking. Once I got to chapter 3 is when I fell in love with this game. The acting, especially the last 2 hours are phenomenal and the asynchronous multiplayer is the best I’ve ever seen. Seeing your world being terraformed and changing around you in real time by you and other players is something I’ve never experienced before and doubt I will again. Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum # 236 Fun: 8/10 Difficulty: 6/10 Shadow of the colossus returns on PS4 with next to no changes. You still fight all 16 colossus, you still do the time trials which are more manageable than the PS3 version. I do say I like that you don't have to eat 100% of all fruit or lizard tails which is pretty time consuming to do. You just have to eat one fruit and one lizard tail and that's it. There are very few new additions to this game, the new additions come in the form of a barrel from The Last Guardian and 79 coins scattered across the land which thankfully is NOT required to do. The 79 coins just unlocks a new sword which acts as a worse version of the best sword. If you found the PS3 version hard as hell due to the time trials being borderline impossible than this is an easier version in my opinion.

SoapMacTavish222
#349 Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 for PS3. Still trucking away at the backlog, started this game 8 years ago. As much as I enjoy Harry Potter I feel like they could have done a few things differently for this game. #1 They turned it into a shooter more than anything. #2 The difficulties do not stack which means you have to beat the game 3 different times. #3 The collectibles all must be done in one playthrough. There is no chapter select so if you miss one, you will need to get it on your next playthrough. It's not the worst game I have played but it really wasn't a good game.
