Popular Post StraightVege
#257 & #258 | Metro Redux Revisiting these dated titles made me question whether I should even bother playing Exodus. Technically, they did a fine job achieving parity between the two games—they run well, look good, and the load times are impressively speedy. Last Light's trophy list has also been dramatically improved (no more Shadow Ranger, for one!). My teenage self would have loved this remastered package, I'm sure, but my tastes have changed substantially since then. I've always considered the Metro series to essentially be a STALKER-lite for the CoD crowd, and they certainly suffer from every tired, modern shooter cliché of the time period. You repeatedly wait 5 minutes for NPCs to finally shut the hell up and open a door so you can progress, battles are scripted to an obnoxious degree, there are multiple on-rails turret levels to cure your insomnia, and plenty of "baby's first stealth game" sections against legally blind guards. Your AI companions have an uncanny knack for getting in the way, preventing you from shooting at enemies, since the game won't let you aim at friendlies. At one point, I was instructed to quickly pull out my lighter to ignite my friend's torch, so we could repel a horde of incoming rats. Unfortunately, the game wouldn't actually allow me to do this, because it considered me to be aiming at the NPC, which resulted in a death. That's unforgivably stupid. One can often sprint far ahead of these time-wasting characters, but the game will still make you stand around at the exit, until they finally go through their motions and catch up to you. Any potential drama in the scenes is sucked out by the awkward animations and flat voice acting. It's just terribly boring! Last Light's portrayal of women is hilariously bad, too; I guess the radiation must have transformed 99% of post-apocalyptic ladies into flawless super models, with physics-defying breasts that continually jiggle like jellied cranberry. Yup, you can definitely tell this game was originally made a while ago! Occasionally, Metro knocks it out of the park with some outstanding survival horror bits, forcing you to simultaneously cope with mutant attacks, radioactive contamination, and a lack of light. There's enough resource management to keep things interesting, without frustrating the player, particularly in Last Light's DLC missions. Among the best content in either game is when you're trapped with the intelligent, gorilla-like "Librarian" enemies: instead of blasting your way through, you can have tense staring contests with them, in the hope they'll leave you alone. Do more stuff like this, please. Metro also nails the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of a world ravaged by nuclear war: it's still poignant to climb out of a subway tunnel crowded with humanity's remnants, and set eyes on a strangely beautiful, bombed-out city vista. The political factions are pretty one-dimensional, however, featuring some truly cartoonish villains (they even slapped a Hitler mustache on one of 'em), so it's difficult to take the human conflict very seriously. I do enjoy the overarching "Dark Ones" plot and its anti-xenophobia message, at least—the baby Dark One is adorable, and must be protected! There's some quality horror to be found here, but it was a rather middling experience overall, reminding me why I strongly dislike this style of FPS. The first couple of playthroughs where I was trying to see all the outcomes were so fun and seeing the difference between theatrical cut and curators cut was so interesting! However, the trophy list for this game is pretty shocking. It requires far too many replays and you can’t skip the cutscenes. So for certain trophies (most notably for me calm junior down) you’ll be sitting there replying the same scenes over and over just to finish one QTE and it gets tedious pretty fast. I will admit though I probably did more full playthroughs than I had to and I probably could have been more efficient with my time Overall I’d say the game was 10/10 fun for me, but the trophy hunting did kind of lower the enjoyment. I definitely recommend picking it up if you’ve been curious to try though! I'm only avoiding trophy hunting this one because you have to play through it with someone else for some of the personality changes I think. )): For a story based game forced multi kinda sucks. Loved my playthrough of it though.

Loved my playthrough of it though. I don’t think you need to play online for character traits, but there is a trophy for a Shared Playthrough which is online. Also some of the trophies don’t pop for both players and instead just for who happens to be controlling the character at the time which is irritating. Very good game though, but a nightmare to trophy hunt Enjoyment 7/10 Difficulty 2/10 I’ve really been enjoying these games recently so I’ve pushed for the platinum in Little Hope too! I didn’t enjoy this one as much as Man of Medan but it was still fun to play. Again though the trophies for this game did kind of take the enjoyment out, there is so much repetition needed in a game where you can’t skip cutscenes. That being said, I did think the trophy list was a bit fairer than Man of Medan. The trophy I had the most trouble with was definitely maxing John and Angela’s relationship. The requirements were pretty tight and one wrong decision meant I had to do another almost full playthrough to get it as there’s not enough opportunities to increase it organically in theatrical cut. However the hearts/heads playthroughs were easier on Little Hope as the icons were more visible and the pause menu actually showed you which decisions you were making, so you didn’t need to worry you’d accidentally made a wrong choice somewhere. All in all, I had a lot of fun with it ?
Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #118 Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back Very Rare: 9.34% Difficulty: 4/10. Enjoyment: 9/10. Challenge: 8/10. Music Remake: 9/10. Grind Difficulty: 6/10. Genre: Platform, Action, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Historical and Time Travel. Platinum Time: 1 day and 3 hours. Same thing from before last year April 2020 and I wanna get this right and not screw this shit up. Let's begin: I feel really much more relieved then I did on my previous Crash Bandicoot game and everything turned out very well. The stages wasn't really too much complex, infact they're mostly easy on...well you could say it's easy to beat if your a veteran back in the old era. The color and grey gems was easy to get them all and I never had any problems encountered. Time Trials: Most stages did pose a real challenge when they add a new powerup fast speed to make it easier for you. Here's the worst part I hated the most. Piston It Away and Spaced Out was really frustrating as fuck and it took me a total of 10 tries to get the perfect timing right and yes it was annoying but at least I got both of em done. Would definitely recommended this game to anyone for a decent challenge. Next Platinum: ???

Definitely a game I'd break my controller over if I had to do it again on Veteran difficulty. Most missions were pretty easy and straight forward. Popular Post Trini
#141 - Call of Duty: "Hit the Targets!!" Remastered Call of Duty is a franchise I was never into, but you can never go wrong with a classic like MW ......even though it will make you question yourself if life is really worth living anymore. For those of you specifically who acquire this platinum, I'm certain you're aware of the Best of the best trophy and the horrors that follow with it. For starters, I ran the obstacle just to get familiar with the layout and the techniques used to beat the score. I knew to myself that I won't get it for the first handful of attempts, but little did I know that I would be trapped playing in a never-ending cycle for that perfect victory, which then became a nightmare. I ran the obstacle time and time again, more determined than the previous try. It was getting so dragged out that "HIT THE TARGETS" started sounding like a song stuck in my head with the restart of every checkpoint I did. I sat down on my chair and I won't dare move a muscle until I can shut this sucka up for good. Eventually, by the love of everything that's good, I ran through the course with the pistol and completed it by the skin of my teeth. This game was quite a challenge overall, ESPECIALLY the ending of One shot, one kill, and Mile High Club ....now I don't have to hear hit the target anymore because I'll be hitting that delete button instead.
Guest
Sackboy: A Big Adventure Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 5/10 A series known for its creativity gets another banger of a game, bogged down by some extremely tedious and obnoxious trophies. Pros: -Absolutely killer soundtrack -Adorable visual design -Wonderful and memorable characters -Makes full use of the haptic feedback in the controller -Creative level design on-par with Mario Cons: -The multiplayer is, frankly, stupid. I can only speak for the online version, but it's still barebones and seemed so shoehorned in. I mainly disliked it because of obnoxious trophies attached to it with acing 10 levels, which genuinely seemed impossible due to the constant lag and inexperience of the other players. I ended up having to use remote play with a PS4 controller to get the last few. The multiplayer-only stages aren't fun, and the only way they seem like multiplayer levels is that sometimes you both (or all of you) have to pull on something at the same time or throw another player a bit higher than a normal jump allows. It seemed so forced because the other games were so community-centric so they must've felt the need to put it in, but I believe this game would've been better off without it. At the very least don't make trophies attached to it. -Trial 16, aka the ripsnorter and the String It Together trophy, is artificially difficult. It's all of the other trials combined into one long one. I get what they were doing for since a lot of 3D platformers have one final 'ultimate level', but this game already had one at the end of the wonderplane or whatever they called it. I know it's optional, but it seemed a bit much for me. It didn't take me a tremendous amount of time to get it, maybe a couple hours, but it wasn't that satisfying when I finished it. It felt more like an old-nes game, or another PS5 game like Demons Souls, in which they made the level stupidly hard just for the sake of a challenge. It's the equivalent of you trying to balance a spinning basketball on your fingers, but as you do it someone is throwing chairs at you. -The 300 costume grind nearly killed the joy of the game for me, along with acing 10 levels in multiplayer, because you have to go so far out of your way to get it. It's like getting all skills in Sekiro, you won't get it naturally and you'll have to boringly grind for it after you get everything else. Doing the 60-bells-a-second strategy is the most efficient, but mind-numbing and painful. I ended up going through a bunch of stages one by one and looking at a guide to grab the ones I missed solely because it was at least slightly more entertaining than the quicker method. TL;DR: If it weren't for a couple terrible trophies and game design issues, the game would be a 10/10 for me. Play it casually to have fun, plat it to ruin it. Popular Post Eagle
Platinum #8 – Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood More buggy than I remembered. But as fun and as amazing as I remembered, too. I personally think this is objectively better than AC2, but the latter is still my favorite due to the symbolism it has to me. Now, I will play AC: Revelations, which many say is the weakest link of the trilogy. Let's see if that's true. Might be of note that I played the remaster from the Ezio Collection, so I didn't have to deal with the multiplayer trophies.
