Popular Post Dauersack
Tropico 6 #53: Tropico Grinder As a long time fan of the series and someone who was with the series since the release of the original Tropico almost 20 years ago, this game hurt to play. Developer changes are rather common within this series, but despite the developer changing from Tropico 3-4 to 5, the general feeling and strengths of the series were still well captured for Tropico 5. The inept studio taking over for Tropico 6 did not manage that, sadly. This did not feel like a sequel, as any new feature came at the cost of old features from past games, all changes were coming with downsides, the most crucial features did not work properly either due to bugs or because the design was completely rotten and detrimental to having a good time, and worst offense of all, it is boring. They messed up the once super entertaining music for the most part, most of the dark comedy is gone or neutered, they did not even bother with a campaign this time around, they nerfed the scale of everything you do and they made the economy into a complete joke that rewards you for slapping a few buildings as close to the main city as possible to avoid the buggy and broken distance problem they implemented, playing the game somewhat naturally just punishes you, you can't even micromanage the military properly so rebels attacking your buildings is guaranteed to cause damage despite two military bases standing right next to it not doing jack shit. Trophy list was inoffensive at least, needless multiplayer trophy annoyed me, other trophies came naturally during missions or sand box for the most part, only a few grindy ones, most annoying one was the communist mission because the scenario forced you to basically have 4 different cities going, which does not work well in this game due to the distance problem leading to your industry not doing anything, and buildings that are supposed to fix it end up breaking the game. This game was not atrocious to play, but it was definitely not fun either, mostly it was boring and tedious, which is a shame because all other Tropico games I played were great experiences. Definitely a big disappointment and I really hope they fire this developer again, as per Tropico tradition, before the next installment of the game comes out, because there is no way I buy another husk of a Tropico game from these guys.
Popular Post darkwat3r
#56 Finally decided to go back and get the plat for Dark Souls 3. First played this on release and got all but the really grindy trophies. It took me about ~40hrs to get the platinum. A good chunk of that time was spent grinding for covenant items, that was the one thing that almost stopped me again. I don't feel that the difficulty increases much between each playthrough but playing it til ng++ just to get some rings felt just like with DS2 a bit much. Overall still love the game just as i did when i first played it. Had a blast (except the grind)

Popular Post DarkSamurai69
#313 Final Fantasy VII Remake Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 This game has a great soundtrack, graphics, combat system, and some changes to the story that could be good or bad but we won't know for sure till they complete the game in its entirety. The main cast character models looked so good but when it came to NPC's, they look like they are from a different game. It's a minor gripe of mine but didn't detract from my enjoyment of the game. I just didn't like some of the side quests since they reminded me of old MMO's questing where it's not well thought out. The crane arm part of the story was something I didn't enjoy except for the high five part between Cloud and Aerith. I'm curious how they'll tackle the next part of the story, something to look forward to albeit...it will be many years. #314 Hollow Knight Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 7.5/10 This game was a joy to play through. A great game that presented the lore in a similar fashion to Dark Souls. The combat and platforming is precise and when something goes wrong, you know you're at fault and not the game. The challenge of this game comes from the fifth pantheon where you have to fight around 40 bosses in one go but you get breaks to rest and heal up at certain intervals. The last three bosses were really challenging. I practiced around a couple hours or more on each of the last three bosses. The run where I got the platinum, I thought I didn't have it since I had one health against Nightmare King Grimm but managed to beat him. Then I smashed Pure Vessel, only getting hit once or twice but when I got to Absolute Radiance, I screwed up a lot during Phase 1-3 where I only had one health at the end of Phase 3 but managed to get him to the next phase. From there on I got all the way to the top for Phase 6 and my hands were sweaty at that point. It felt so good to beat him after around 10-12 hours of attempting the fifth pantheon on multiple runs. Can't wait for the sequel!
Popular Post KooTippa
Platinum #21 - God of War II Enjoyment: 8 / 10 Difficulty: 8 / 10 Last unlocked trophy: Bleeding Thumbs Beat the Challenge of the Titans A great game and a great series. Finally decided to gather up the courage to re-try Challenge of the Titans around a year after finishing the game on my PS3. After some cussing out loud and trying Challenge #6 again and again I was able to beat it and had that sweet feeling you get when you beat something you have been trying for a long time. Challenge #7 description: 'Kratos must kill all of the enemies, without taking a single hit.' made me feel worried but I was surprised how fast I was actually able to beat it. Getting the other trophies in the game was pretty straight forward otherwise and the only difficult task was beating the Challenge of the Titans. It is not as hard as finishing the first God of War Challenge of the Gods. That is something I haven't been able to beat... yet. Hopefully I'll be back here soon to make a post like this of God of War and add that sweet Platinum into my collection.
Popular Post Whitelightnin683
# 205 Akiba's Trip Undead & Undressed Advent of the Akiba GodObtained every trophy. Difficulty: 3/10 Time: ~40 hrs Enjoyment: 7/10 One of the few games I pick up during a previous PSN sale. The setting takes place in Akihabara (based on the real life version) and sees the player/protagonist (an otaku type high school student) defending the area from "Synthisters" (superhuman like beings who feed on social energy) whilst also dealing with being one his/herself. You defeat these does by stripping them of their clothing to expose them to the sunlight, hence the undead in the title. The player is assisted by several female companions (waifus) of choice and an affection system, based on dialogue choices determines which route girls and subsequent ending you get. The gameplay is an action/beat em up style using weapons found in shops or enemies, with the goal of dealing enough damage to an enemies clothing durability in order to rip them off forcibly. One of the best things about this game is the amount of freedom when it comes to selecting which weapons/clothes (and later customizing the mc once you finish your first playthrough), as there isn't a "best" type ones to use, just as long as you continue to upgrade and make whichever you feel comfortable with stronger. It was nice seeing many references to similar video games and anime I've played/watched. # 206 Yakuza 3 Remastered World's Greatest DadEarn all other trophies in the game. Difficulty: 8/10 Time: ~100 hrs Enjoyment: 7.5 /10 Yakuza 3 wasn't regarded as one of the best in the series, but the remastered version does help its reputation since it includes content that was originally cut from the ps3 western release. The story is weaker, noticeably near the end when compared to its predecessors, but is alright. Combat (on hard) felt tedious at the start with little to no upgrades since enemies /bosses block a LOT more often on this difficulty, but it gets easier to manage when you do get upgrades. The substories are as fun and engaging as they've ever been if not and are one of the highlights of any Yakuza game to date as well as the minigames. However, 3 is infamous for it's difficult minigame completion requirements, namely pool, batting, darts and golf. Out of the four, I found pool and golf to be the most brutal as I'm not particularly fond of either activity. Especially pool, which in this version, is much harder due to the control sensitivity messing up shots that would otherwise go in. Not to mention the Expert AI making ridiculous trick shots. In the end, I used a rubber band to pull down on the right analog stick and watched to make sure there was no lateral movement. It goes without saying that I've become a huge fan of the Yakuza series, so much so that I've set myself a rather ambitious goal of obtaining the platinum in all versions available to me. This was a huge step in achieving that goal and one of my proudest achievements to date.
Popular Post Yoey_666
#377 - Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+ 2 I have such a long history with these games that I don‘t even know what to write. I started skateboarding because of THPS at the end of 1999 and I am still on my board today. Sadly I broke my leg two weeks ago (what a coincidence..) but I used the time to finish this hell of a grind. The game is just a perfect remaster in my opinion and for sure one of my top games 2020. I have no idea where I would‘ve been without those games, the music and the joy they gave to my life. What a game.

Popular Post sk_lp_him
#73 - Watch Dogs 100% Clear This is the platinum trophy and is unlocked automatically when all the trophies have been unlocked. I was dreading the drinking mini game since I never finished it on PC years ago, but it was surprisingly easier now. Everything else is easy if a bit grindy. The story is better than WD 2 and I like Aiden Pearce as a character, he is a bit introvert like me. The online portion is perfect, as soon as I got the trophies I turned it off, no need for mind numbing online grind. Popular Post Carol
#201 and 100%: Strange Brigade The Strangest of Brigades! I Say!? You've only gone and collected all the other trophies!? Superbly done Strange Brigade! Temples, ruins, relics, jungle and beach are some of my favourite elements in games and "Strange Brigade" has them all! If you like Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider type of adventures, this game is definitely for you! You can play with three more people and, together, you will explore several locations and solve puzzles to advance and find treasures, while you fight hordes of the undead. I played ZA4 this year and, unfortunately, I found the gameplay to become dull very quickly. Nevertheless, I decided to try SB, since the deluxe edition has a pretty good discount. In my opinion, it's a much better game than ZA4 and also much more fun! The addition of puzzles keeps the gameplay fresh and dynamic. I also love everything connected to Egypt, so that helped too! The DLC levels are even better and prettier. The platinum is also very easy, since it consists mostly of story-related trophies and finding all collectibles. If you want the 100%, you do need to complete the campaign on Extreme difficulty. This difficulty setting is, in my opinion, decently challenging, but totally doable, even solo. I had a good time and a lot of fun with this game and I hope we get a sequel, someday!
Popular Post Conor
#77- FINAL FANTASY VII (PS1/ PS4) Gaia's Guardian Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 (6/10 without cheats) Time Taken: 2 weeks, 5 days, 6 hours (60 hours in-game) Rarity: 7.0% Rare (PSN) / 25.27% Uncommon (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Ruby Render- Defeat the Ruby Weapon "Anyone may claim that he will act in the direst times, yet only a brave man acts in times great and small..." I say this in no uncertain terms- Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game of all time. It was my first Final Fantasy, my first proper RPG and the first game with such a huge world, story and cast of characters that I fell in love with and only grew to love more and more over the years. I have beaten the game perhaps a dozen times and will do so again. I also purposefully made this my 4000th trophy so that it would show on my profile as a milestone (also as the 77th platinum to be even more fitting!). It has had such an impact on my life and set the benchmark for games for me from almost the beginning of my gaming journey. Nowadays, the adventures of Cloud and company does look very dated. The FMVs were a marvel for their time and the pre-rendered backgrounds were gorgeous too, but the blocky field models are really off-putting in the modern era. Of course, they don't bother me because I'm so used to it, but it is the first thing new players will notice and it can be quite jarring, so no, it hasn't aged very well. Compared to previous entries, the battle sequences are very slow with extended animations at the beginning as well as for attacks. Not a major issue for this version as the 3x speed cheat works wonders in this regard. The translation is still a bit awkward as well but that just adds to its charm- sadly, the infamous "This guy are sick" line didn't make it back in. Other than those quibbles, the game remains a masterpiece. Memorable moment after memorable moment, timeless characters, a breathtaking musical score, the excellent Materia-based combat and fun minigames to keep things fresh, all combine to make one of the greatest games of all time. Sure, some may point to Final Fantasy VI as the true opus in the series, but this is the game most people are familiar with and started with and that's why this is my Final Fantasy and always will be. Not really much more needs to be said, so if you haven't experienced this marvelous adventure, this is the best version really to do so as the platinum trophy isn't too taxing, just a little bit time-consuming even with the cheats activated. The Final Fantasy VII Remake was one of my most anticipated games of the decade and it didn't disappoint me, in fact, it is my Game of the Year for 2020 and I really look forward to seeing where they continue things- I wasn't a huge fan of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII but I'm glad things are going in a positive direction for this absolute classic once again. Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Maneater (#487) "Platinum" A snack-sized open world game. Where many games tell a long, complicated story and/or fill a huge world with endless collectables and quests with checklists and percentages counting up to 100%, this game.... actually does the latter and seems to relish in its almost shamelessness. It has framerate issues and crashed a couple times on me. It takes place overwhelmingly underwater, which is typically leads to a challenging navigation and it does here too. The game is pretty, but not impressively so. All of this suggests it is not a very good game. On the contrary, it is quite good, mostly due to its premise and willingness to really embrace the concept of allowing the player to become a Maneater. The simple and somewhat repetitive combat is very satisfying, as you can begin to thrash bigger foes or come across your first beach full of humans. The framework of a sharkhunting reality show narrated by Chris Parnell is perfect for this kind of game, as it simplifies the story into 9 or 10 chapters that play out like episodes of the show bookended by brief cutscenes that further your antagonist, Scaly Pete. Each Chapter is almost functionally the same: you enter a new area of the world and have to complete basically the same missions or hunting, population control and revenge, while hunting the same collectables. All the while, you gain new evolutions to power up your shark and collect nutrients to use to level up your evolutions, and gain levels to grow from a pup to a mega. It is super short of this sort of game, full completion at 10 hours or so. There just is not a great deal to explore and each area of the world is compact and quick to travel to. The map is populated with your mission and collectables as you advance thru each chapter, making the task of completion less bothersome, as some items are deep underground/water or high flying over some bridge. Overall, it is cool, fun, and mindless. A great popcorn platinum that does not overstay its welcome and uses growth as progression to lead to an inevitable conclusion. It has many deficiencies, but they are easily overlooked

Hopefully PW2&3&4 don't have those damn RNG coins. #182 Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 10th Oct 2020 The last DW6 I had left and the last unique DW I ever plat unless I get three PS Vitas and DW Next on all of them. Popular Post Conor
#78- JAK II: RENEGADE (PS3) Done Done Done Enjoyment: 4/10 Difficulty: 3/10 (7/10 without Debug menu and glitches) Time Taken: 5 Days, 8 Hours, 51 Minutes (20 hours in-game) Rarity: 5.4% Very Rare (PSN) / 18.41% Rare (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: The Collectationator!- Collect 286 Precursor Orbs "I'm gonna kill Praxis!" The original Jak and Daxter was a fun, whimsical and moderately challenging 3D platformer that was much too short, so they upped the difficulty to compensate. Jak II: Renegade took everything not so great about the first game and made a whole game about that, this time in an open world, a mini-GTA style action platformer that is quite unforgiving. Now, I don't think challenge is bad at all, but here it is just ridiculous; it is literally impossible to complete a lot of the missions on your first attempt and it isn't even skill-based, there's quite a lot of luck involved, especially in the challenges to earn Precursor Orbs. I got so frustrated with them that I resorted to an exploit to just keep collecting the same orb over and over until I had enough, and I left that til last. Story-wise, the game is a step up from the first with a much darker tone. Jak is no longer mute and his very first line is a promise of vengeance for two years of torture. Personally I found Daxter tolerable though still a little too mouthy, but he has his genuinely funny moments and I really enjoyed a brief gameplay moment that echoed Crash Bandicoot's famous boulder levels. The cast of characters is expanded but they really aren't all that memorable, not even Baron Praxis voiced by Clancy Brown. Female characters like Keira (who was great in the original game) and newcomer Ashelin really exist to be eye candy for the male characters' ogling and the twist at the end is completely nonsensical. I suppose this was in the time before Naughty Dog were known for their storytelling, and it is a PS2-era game so much of the jankiness is understandable. However, there is no doubt the game has aged poorly and should really only be played by those who feel that they absolutely have to play the entire saga. I don't look forward to replaying this so I'll be making liberal use of the exploits and debug menu features in those versions just to get this done. I remember Jak 3 being a good bit better.
Popular Post Viper
#203 Saints Row: The Third - Remastered Kingpin It was great to revisit this one, still have a lot of love for the Saints Row franchise and can't wait to see Saints Row 5. Especially now...because HOLY SHIT! They went absolutely above and beyond in the graphics department with this game. Saints Row has never looked better! I'm not a graphics hound...but I always thought SR3 and 4 really lacked in this department, it was almost like they forgot surface textures on the characters in the old games. But here? While some of it still looks a little dated, it's honestly treading remake territory. You can also unlock the frame rate in the options...it's not a steady 60FPS, but I never fell below 30 with it and it was mostly smooth the whole time. The only area they screwed up on was the HDR...it's wayyyyy too dark at night time, and turning the brightness up all the way helps...until it's day time and then everything is too bright, so I kept HDR off for this one. Unfortunately the upgrades stop at the graphics. The gameplay is largely untouched and the same glitches from last gen are present in this game as well. But overall, they outdid themselves with how it looks, and it's still one of the best game in the entire franchise and well worth going back to (or experiencing for the first time!).

Popular Post Phantochi
#213 - Saints Row Gat Out of Hell Saints Row 4 meets hell meets.. Disney? Gat Out of Hell is short, but still very worth a try, especially if you are a Saints Row fan. I would say that I hurried through the game, and with a time of about 7 hours, i finished the main story, all activities with gold and collected all collectables on Hardcore difficulty, that's 97% game complete, the rest are just some diversions and kill quests left to do, but to get the platinum, you not only need that 100%, but also need to play this game for a total of 20 freaking hours, in other words, let your character standing still for 10+ hours while you sleep just to get a trophy, who comes up with this crap?! The story is a love story in hell! The Saints row 4 President is kidnapped by Satan, he is to marry his daughter, Jezebel. And on top of that, the story is portrayed as a musical in a few cutscenes, which are pretty funny. And did i mention that satan is played by Terry Crews? Gameplay is similar to Saints Row 4, most superpowers are very similar, if not the same, with a few exceptions, such as "Summon", an ability to summon an army of imps that can explode or summon other demons that look straight out of Doom. The game is fun but far from perfect, it's very short, storyline is poor, you can't customize your character, there's no radios, but i found the game to be rather entertaining as a saints row 4 expansion. Definitely worth a look if you are a fan of Saints Row and want a little more of that kind of craziness.
