Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum 273 Fun: 9/10 Difficulty: Get all the gold bolts and it's a 0/10 with infinite ammo/health. Otherwise a 3/10 Ratchet and Clank returns firing on all cylinders with Rift Apart. You once again play as Ratchet and his pal Clank along side new comers Rivet and Kit who are an alternate dimension version of our well known duo. Dr. Nefarious stole a newly built Dimensionator to find a dimension where he never looses and he ends up breaking all of reality which separated Ratchet and Clank. As the game goes on, you switch playing as Ratchet and Rivet who thankfully share weapons/gadgets so you're not stuck with one character having good weapons and the other not having a good loadout. The game's trophies are mostly earned from completing the story, finding collectables, and using some weapons in certain ways such as using one gun that puts a barrier in front of you to absorb bullets to fire back or get enough head shots with a sniper rifle. I'm looking forward to more Ratchet and Clank games!
Popular Post MissShake
#81: Untitled Goose Game A Secret Prize Earn every other trophy Honk. Fun little game! Leave it to me to play all the "popular online" games waaay later, after all the hype has passed on to other games of the moment. I liked Goose Game, but I did have SOME issues with the physics making the speedrun trophies a little annoying in a couple of moments. But overall the game was quite charming, the ending was quite funny... But man I felt so bad for that poor old man in the pub. Like I felt satisfied when I messed with the other people, but that guy falling off the chair? Man that looked so painful D;

Popular Post GarciaFever
#212 Among Us (PS4) Honestly this is one of those games where I knew nothing about it getting released for both PS4 and PS5. I have played it a few times on my cell phone, and at the time I thought that it would be neat if the developers ported this to consoles, and I am so glad that it came true. The trophies were not too hard, with the exception of the "get 3 kills before calling an emergency meeting" trophy. Even then, I managed to figure out a simple solution to that, and it only required me to go into Freeplay. Best of all is that you can be able to track all of yourp progress from Impostor kills, to how many tasks you have completed. Maybe I might end up writing a trophy guide for this game,, but that's if I am not lazy lol

Popular Post madbuk
#446 - Genshin Impact Here it is - my first ever (intentional) auto-pop. I feel so dirty, but unfortunately my hand was forced - the next Genshin update, 2.4, will be disabling the PS4 version on PS5 (which is the version I was previously playing). I did try going back to PS4 Pro, but honestly it's a miserable experience there, so I decided to take the plunge into the autopopping world and simply continue via the PS5 version, since I want to continue playing this game and actually have fun with it instead of the misery the PS4 Pro version offers. I've already raved about how much I love this game over in this post when I first completed the PS4 version, before the Inazuma trophies were added, so I'll just focus on everything since then for this post I suppose. Inazuma is a great update to the game, bringing more amazing music, fresh environments to explore, unique puzzles, new traversal elements, and the variety of locations in Inazuma alone is pretty crazy - Watatsumi Island for example is basically the exact opposite of Tsurumi Island in terms of vibe. It's not perfect though - Watatsumi isn't a very fun island to explore due to its layout, the new archon quests (the main story) were pretty lackluster, and the new playable characters all swayed towards a specific gender instead of being spread equally. That said, more variety in characters does seem to be on its way now (starting with 2.3, so it only took 3 updates), the story has always been lackluster, and most islands are fun to traverse, Watatsumi is simply an exception. The new events have been a mix of great and forgettable - the domain event with Childe and Xinyan was really good and I wish it was permanent content, Windtrace is coming back in 2.4 (which has been one of my favourite events in the game as a whole so far), the Dragonspine Christmas event was interesting... honestly most of the events have been good, only a few outliers like the Tsurumi robot investigating exist. Now that I have unlocked this, I am locked into this game for the next 4 years because there's far less of a chance that they stop supporting this version compared to the PS4 one... But that's okay, bring it on. I love this game and look forward to what the new regions will have to offer when they arrive, because if they're all on par with Inazuma... the future is bright.
Popular Post Alantor32
Platinum #40: Black Desert Online Enjoyment: 10/10 Differculity: 9/10 Thanks to the power of the PS5, I was able to get this platinum of the fun but grindy MMORPG, Black Desert Online, making it my first platinum of a MMORPG PS4 game. I did it using the Maehwa class, the female samurai class. Well, it was a fun game, but all good things must come to an end. Now I need to platinum my first PS5 game and that would be Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. So hopefully by the start of next year, I will have another platinum to look forward to.
Popular Post StrayEidolon
Platinum #112: Genshin Impact I’ve got to do a bit of catch-up with reporting my platinum trophies. Jeez, I obtained Genshin’s platinum half a year ago! I kept putting off writing my thoughts down regarding this game because there’s a lot that can be covered. I’ll try and keep it succinct. Genshin may be lacking a good ol’ lock on system but the gameplay is surprisingly deep. The playable roster has exceeded over 40 vision bearers and there are more to come. Each character has their own skills & abilities. You assemble a team of up to 4 to set off elemental reactions against your foes. Most of the game is easy enough that you don’t have to worry about the meta. It is absolutely fine to pick your faves and run with them. There is so much more when it comes to aspects related to Genshin’s combat (weapons, elements, talents, the artifact grind, etc.) but we don’t have to get into it now. Over time, I’ve been particularly impressed by certain gameplay features miHoYo has introduced. Some have only been available during limited time events. Theater Mechanicus - a fleshed out tower defense mode. Peculiar Wonderland - a collection of minigames that felt amusingly like a watered down Fall Guys. Windtrace - Prop Hunt from Garry’s Mod but Genshin style. And more. A feature I like that has become a mainstay is the Animal Crossing-like Serenitea Pot System. In fact it does some things better than Animal Crossing New Horizons! (Like having more than one “island”.) You can stick your characters in there, craft furniture and visit your friend’s teapot homes too. People have even made mazes and obstacle courses on their realms! One final gameplay feature I’ll mention is the addition of your own boat! The Waverider (introduced in the summer and now here to stay in the third and latest region) makes the game feel a bit less Breath of the Waifu Wild and more like Wind Waker! Oh I’ll sneak in a mention that fishing has been added of course. What game doesn’t have fishing for crying out loud. Skyrim? Oop nevermind. I’m enjoying how deceptively dark and mysterious the story and lore can be. (T H E S K Y I S F A K E) Hearing about the dev’s other work (Honkai Impact 3rd) where they have no qualms killing off main characters, I’m looking forward to seeing how much darker things may get. I should check out the webcomic/manga some time. Some of the cutscenes look stunning and I love how items in the game provide lore. This lore-feeding method always reminds me of the Soulsborne games. For example glimpses of Rosalyne and Rostam’s story can be seen in the descriptions of specific artifact sets. If you're curious at all, here’s pretty artwork of their story in a similar style to certain in-game cutscenes. The soundtrack is spectacular. Yu-Peng Chen and the HOYO-MiX music studio did a stellar job. From the gorgeous ambient music to the epic boss battle themes. The character demos on miHoYo’s YouTube channel also have fantastic music. Zhongli's one being the most popular but my personal favourites being Keqing and Ganyu’s demos. It is also especially awesome to see the team behind this game’s soundtrack work with the London, Shanghai and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestras. Each region has their own soundtrack that really solidifies their identity. We have 3 regions so far (I thought I'd include 3 song examples for each) and they are; the mainly German inspired land of Mondstadt (EX1, EX2, EX3), Chinese inspired Liyue (EX1, EX2, EX3) and Japanese inspired Inazuma (EX1, EX2, EX3). Islands and areas within those very regions have such haunting musical pieces specific to them that I love. Examples being Stormterror’s Lair, Seirai Island and Tsurumi Island. In conclusion, I’ve enjoyed my time in Teyvat and will continue to do so. There are at least 4 more regions still to come! I can’t wait to explore them and see what new things they bring to the table. Oh there are definitely issues I never got around to ranting about. Overall though, Genshin is a great gacha game! Jermster_91
#87 Dungeon Escape This is a $2 platformer that starts of relatively easily but gets more difficult the more you play. Think Super Meat Boy but not to that extreme. Some may find it easy, but I would give it a 3/10 difficulty. Thankfully you don't have to do all the levels otherwise it would be as hard as Super Meat Boy. Took me about 2 hours to do it. Popular Post MadDoggMajima
PLATINUM #16 - Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - The Hero of Heroes Uhh... So remember when I said inFAMOUS 2 was my final platinum of 2021? I've been down with a nasty cold the past few days (I'm fine now, after some rest and a copious amount of Tylenol), so I had a bit more time than usual to game. I figured that I could start this game and platinum it by the first few days of 2022, and both start the year off on a good note while celebrating 2022 being the 20th anniversary of the Ratchet & Clank franchise. Turns out it took me a lot faster than expected. Boy, do I have a lot to say about this one. THE STORY: This game is a pseudo-remake of the original Ratchet & Clank on the PS2 - I say that because while it shares many elements like world designs, the game's story has been completely revamped to match with the film that released around the same time of this game... and I think many of these changes were for the worse. Let's list them off! Drek's personality. In the original game, the villain Drek, at least to me, felt legitimately menacing. Aside from giving him pupils for some reason, this remake transforms him into a more comical and ironic character, and while I do like comedic villains, it just makes Drek less interesting as a whole. Also, that whole dramatic twist at the end of the original, Spoiler admitting that he had polluted his original homeworld to the point of inhabitability as justification for creating a new one for the profit, is reduced to a throwaway line in one of the first cutscenes of the game. Quark's redemption arc. You remember how after Quark betrayed you in that original game, it took an entire trilogy to redeem his character and not make him a total dirtbag? That's compressed into several cutscenes in this remake, and man does it feel forced and like the writers wanted to make Quark as likable as possible by the end of the game. I don't think they knew that a character doesn't have to be a goody-two-shoes to be likeable. Ratchet & Clank's dynamic. Remember how the two main heroes weren't immediately best friends forever in the original game, and during the course of the story Clank helped persuade Ratchet into becoming a hero? Remember how they actually had conversations with each other and experienced character development? In this remake, the two just become friends on the spot and barely talk to each other over the course of the game. Bleh. Dr. Nefarious. Why the hell does he have to be in this game? Don't get me wrong, I understand why Nefarious is such a popular villain to the point that he's become the main, most recognizable big bad of the franchise. I think Drek alone would've been a fine villain for this remake, and would've loved to see his final boss fight from the original return, but I guess not. Whew. Now that all that's off my chest... THE GAMEPLAY: Thankfully I don't have as many gripes with the gameplay, as the general R&C formula is fun all around. In case you're unaware, the series is a cross between a 3D platformer and a 3rd person shooter, where you gain access to a wide range of gadgets and weapons to aid you on your quest. Everything is fluid to control, and there are even puzzle sections where you play as Clank solo and flying segments. I was disappointed, however, with the lack of any real challenge even on hard difficulty (I remember finding the original much harder), and a few of the worlds from the original have been cut out. THE GRAPHICS/PERFORMANCE: Good overall. I played this on PS5, where this game was treated with a 60FPS patch - I was initially disappointed that this game was only at 30 on PS4, especially when the original game ran as smooth as butter on PS2. About the graphics, while many of the animations during gameplay are well-done (even with some squash-and-stretch!), during most of the in-game cinematics the characters just stand lifelessly taking to each other, which was just off-putting. Interestingly, the many of the game's cinematics are taken straight from the movie, which was somewhat jarring. THE TROPHIES: Getting the platinum requires a minimum of a standard and a 'Challenge' playthrough, which is basically just New Game+, as well as collecting all the Gold Bolts and Cards, while upgrading every weapon to its maximum potential (which is only possible in the Challenge playthrough, due to a level cap in your first go around). Since the game is pretty short, especially as you can blast through it in Challenge mode, this really isn't a big deal. I didn't have all weapons maxed out by the end of my Challenge mode, so I had to do a partial third playthrough to do so. MY SCORE: I think I'm just gonna do a standard 'out-of-ten' score from now on, so I'm giving this game a 7/10. While this was a very fun game to platinum and play, as a remake it falls short with a boring story. I have Rift Apart (along with a few other games) coming in the mail, so I can't wait to try that out in the new year and see if that's any better. So, that's my real final platinum of 2021! Omelette Paradise
#526 - Promesa This is a curious walking simulator in which you move from A to B in various different environments whilst observing a conversation a grandfather has with their grandchild inbetween completing each area. The jarring difference between each one serve to enhance the feeling that the player is experiencing some sort of strange dream. I liked it personally but probably one to swerve if you're not a fan of "video game as interactive art" style titles.

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #687: Difficulty: 7/10 Playtime: 100-110 hours So, it's the final platinum of the year... a culmination of almost three years of biding my time waiting for the opportune moment... or, y'know, whenever I would summon up the courage to buy some DLC whose price point is almost as high as the previously nonexistent difficulty it would confer upon its disappointment of a vanilla game. I've already reviewed it once in this thread. It's a long story concerning foreign-language stacks... oh yeah, thanks for reminding me I still have to to the DLC on that version too, with a sizeable language barrier at that. My opinion of the main game remains unchanged, and despite a commendable effort on the part of Osaka Team to improve the game through the aforementioned DLC, it's still not enough to pull it out of the series' bottom tier... at this point, they should just be grateful Coded and Days exist to keep them out of loser position outright. I've already made lengthy and incisive summations of my experience elsewhere on this site, but it's New Year's and all, so I don't really have the time or inclination to furnish this post with links to said postings at present. Heh, I sort of feel like this post, void as it is of my usual corybantic japery, is an exercise in redundancy at this point, but it wouldn't feel right not closing out the year without some acknowledgment of my year's final achievement. May you all have had as exciting, fulfilling, and occasionally emotionally taxing a year in trophy hunting as I, and may the next year be even better! The road goes ever on and on... Final Score: 7.5/10 As a postscript, I would like to dedicate this platinum to the memory of my dearly departed acquaintance @sunnydaleAlumni, who loved this game to a degree I truly wish I could have experienced myself. Thinking of you, wherever you are...

Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophies Nos. 245 & 246! Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth (JP version) Deedlint in Wonder Labyrinth A great Metroidvania game, with excellent pixel art. I know nothing about the story, so I didn't understand almost anything. But it was really fun exploring the labyrinth! It's also short (more or less 10 hours), and there are a couple of bugged trophies, since the A rank boss rush unlocked at the end of the game (without any boss rush attempt ), and the 100% weapon refused to pop up once I collected the final bow. I searched with Google and I found the answer, so I sold a weapon and I booght it again, and finally the platinum appeared. And this is the platinum screenshot! Ys IX: Monstrum Nox King of Monstrum And another Ys stack, and this is my 12th Ys platinum! With this I have both Ys IX platinum trophies, and I miss "only" two more Ys VIII platinum... And I still think that this entry No. IX is a step down (compared to VIII), especially about the setting (I found much more interesting the cursed Seiren Isle) and the soundtrack (I love almost every track from VIII, while I found almost half of the IX soundtrack quite mediocre ). Too bad you can't change some tracks with the Super Ultimate versions, especially Glessing way!! What else? While you're exploring the town, the framerate is really bad, especially during some battles, while the gameplay inside the dungeons is quite fluid... And this is final platinum for 2021, with this screenshot, which should be the same of the previous international version, but now with Japanese words! And happy new year!!! ??? Popular Post alexandra-jane09
#63 All Trophies Obtained Obtained All Kena: Bridge of Spirits Trophies [ Spoiler Ahead if you haven't played the game ] What can I say, a beautifully crafted game which has taken me a month to complete due to the ultra hard, Master difficulty. When I play a new game, I always play it on the easiest setting first as I want to learn the mechanics and don't want to have a hard time unnecessarily the first time I play. So I played on Story Mode first then leapt straight into Master [ huge error on my part perhaps ], enemies have way more health than even Expert does apparently, and even the little tiki villains can hit you bringing Kena's health significantly down to almost nothing. The best upgrade to Kena early on is the "Into The Fray" upgrade, giving you one Rot point ability when you enter a battle, ordinarily your furry and cute companions, The Rot will run off every time there is a fight and you have to build up courage points for them to help you by hitting enemies that will drop yellow coloured orbs of courage on the floor and you have to pick them up either manually or best using Kena's shield pulse ability. The worst thing in Master is Kena will lose her Rot Courage as soon as she is hit, including the one you are given with the aforementioned ability, leaving her vulnerable. I did experience a few glitches, the Corrupt Woodsmith Boss bugged out on me when I was fighting her so that was annoying, and there is a platforming section in one of the spirit realm areas where you have to throw one of Kena's timed bombs on to some collapsable rocks and slide to one of them to go through a portal. Unfortunately for me and I think other players experienced it too, she wouldn't reach the platform after sliding when you do a double jump, she is meant to but in order to reach it I pointed my arrow in slow motion [ R3 ] whilst jumping off the platform [ called focus ] and was able to reach it that way. This is a good workaround that another player commented on a Youtube video, but I think there is bad programming there. I personally wish that the arrows had aim assist, which would have been very useful. Seems that the Grier Bros and Ember Labs wanted players to go up close and personal and melee CQC everything instead of distance so the arrows are not the greatest in combat without that aim assist. So overall a beautiful game with a very sad story of course with a few teething problems and frustrating areas, but since this is their first game it is to be expected. I give it it an 8/10 despite my rage in Master difficulty especially the final boss, an over long fight that could of done with at least 2 checkpoints in it.
