Popular Post Kefka1986
#153 Scarlet Nexus Difficulty: 6/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Platinum number 153!! I'm glad I played this one. It has every anime cliché you can imagine but it has some twists here and there which made the game very enjoyable. The one thing I didn't like at all was playing the full game two times, as the platinum requires finishing it with both Yuito and Kasane, and even if their stories complement each other, I already knew what was going to happen, so... but great game anyway!!!
Popular Post XIIDoomsdayIIX
#144 - Assassin's creed Revelations. This and brotherhood were a chore to platinum, total synchronisation and guild challenges were a pain and don't get me started on the atrocious Desmond's journey and lost archive, what an absolute joke of level design and gamplay. The only enjoyment i found was from anything related to Altair and the history of the order. Overall the Ezio trilogy has not aged well with me, used to hold them in high regard but now can't stand them. Uninteresting plot and even more Uninteresting characters. Hopefully they do a remake of the first game one day. I'm not even gonna touch assassin's creed 3 or any of the others but black flag as that game though not an Assassin's creed game is still great regardless.

Popular Post disaster500
#69 The Escapists 2 - 2.59% Personal Difficulty - 3/10 Time Played - 34 hours (I played this casually years ago, probably takes 20-25hrs for platinum) Glad to have this done. I played this casually with my brother 5 years ago, and while I kinda cared about trophies back then, I wouldn't do anything annoying. I returned to it to clean up everything and get the platinum (which absolutely shouldn't be UR btw). The Escapists 2 is a prison escaping game. You have to figure out how to escape each prison by leaving the boundary of the map. You'll need to craft, steal and loot items such as shovels, pickaxes, and keys to make your way out. Obviously guards are there to keep you in check, and as you progress through the prisons they get harder and harder. They start adding security cameras, contraband metal detectors, and increased security. Later prisons are also set in special locations, for example the last one, the USS Anomaly, is set in space. Each prison also has special unique escape methods, typically one singleplayer and one co-op per prison. One unique escape is needed for the platinum per Classic prison, and these are typically more wacky. For example on HMP Offshore, a prison set on an abandoned drilling platform in the middle of the sea, you can escape via dolphin. You have to learn to speak dolphin, and do a few favours for the dolphin, and then he'll let you escape. You can only get to the dolphin through making a copy of an officer's key though. The trophies I had left were to do a few unique escapes, as me and my brother had done regular perimeter escapes on those maps, and some grinds. One is to spend 3 in-game days in the shower, it's a shame that achievement isn't in Smash Bros. The worst one was to do a successful quota for each of the 12 jobs, because this takes a very long time. To take a job you need the right intellect and strength, and you need the inmate who already has the job to get fired, which you do by beating them up at job time. The problem is then you have to wait until the next job time to fill out your quota. There's 1 or 2 job times per day (depends on the prison), and each in-game hour is 1 minute, so this takes a long time. There's also 2 quick online trophies which take around 45 minutes to boost per person. It's a fun game, so I recommend. It's also an easy Ultra Rare if you're looking for one. Popular Post RoastedPeanut
# 226 - Shantae and the Seven Sirens (PS5) Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 I really love the Shantae games. I already platinumed this one on PS4 not long after release, but I was more than happy to playthrough again now that I own a PS5. It's your typical Metroidvania with lots of backtracking as you unlock new magic and transformarions, but with all the charm that comes with the setting for each Shantae game. It's definitely a bit on the easy side and with the card system that lets you boost certain abilities it really shouldn't pose any problems for someone to platinum.

Really enjoyed my time, hoping the Persona Q games eventually get ported over and/or the rumour about a Persona 3 remake comes true; until then I've just got P3D and the P4As in my backlog for more SEES.

Popular Post PotrikBerger
Resident Evil 4 (PS5) Anticipation - 5/5 Never played the originals but really enjoyed the resi 2 and resi 3 remakes and have been hearing for a long time now both how good and how significant the original Resident Evil 4 was. Easily the most I’ve looked forward to a game so far this year. Enjoyment - 5/5 Right off the bat it’s noticeable how much slicker Leon feels to control than the previous games. The next thing you very quickly realise is that you can’t play this game in the same way as the two before it. This tricked me initially as very early on you are taught that you can stealth kill enemies. Super cool you can do that I thought, lulling myself into believing this would be a welcome addition to the deliberate gameplay I had learned from 2 and 3. But no. In Resi 4 you gotta keep moving - Leon is slicker for a reason - the enemies are faster with greater intellligence, there are far more areas which are open and offer vertical traversal, you can now properly parry in close quarter fights (it awesome) and there is way, way more ammo. Which gives this game a much greater emphasis and focus on action and gunplay. It feels fast. And it’s great, great entertainment. My heart sunk when I realised it had turned into an escort mission game when Ashley turned up, but that was also a joyous surprise....probably the best ‘escort mission’ in a game I’ve ever played. It was actually teetering on being fun. Incredible achievement in itself. Amicia and Hugo this isn’t. Add into all of this that it looks absolutely fantastic, precisely no bugs or crashes or glitched trophies from day 1 and it’s very hard to think of another game I’ve enjoyed as much this year on my first playthrough. Retrospect - 2/5 Whilst playing Resi 4 the first time was probably the most gratifying out of the three remakes, I felt when going for the platinum it was probably the least enjoyable experience of the three. There is no secondary character to play as to flirt with your attention levels like there was in 2 and this one requires, what felt like at least, far too many repeat playthroughs (maybe the most of the three games? I’m not sure, but it sure felt like it) with not enough variation in challenge or gameplay. It started to feel tiresome and arbitrary. Other than this small complaint, I’d recommend this highly to all. Edited April 9, 2023 by PotrikBerger
Viper
#311 War Theatre 2: Blood of Winter War General April Fool's Day Plat! Free to Play turn based strategy game. You take control of factories and cities which help you create new units and fortify yourself, then you can move your characters a limited number of times on a checker board pattern until you're in range to attack. I don't normally play games like this, I did so purely for the "holiday" plat, and it was easy and free. There's only one trophy that requires you to beat the AI, everything else can be achieved (cheesed) with a second controller and basically playing against yourself, the AI wasn't hard to beat either though. Not much to say about this one, wasn't really playing it seriously, but I could see some people enjoying it. It also has a very simple art style, where it's like paper characters on a background, but everything is very crisp and the colors really pop in this game...it was nice to look at. Again it's completely free, so can't hurt to check out. #312 Bunny Raiders (PS5) Bunny Titan This was another Free to Play game. This time a Rogue-Like (Lite?), where you're main objective is to go from RNG based rooms, to find a boss. Since it's RNG based, some people can find a Boss really quick, while others have reported taking 6+ hours to find one. I found one in about an hour. The game is very easy once you understand the mechanics, so like any Rogue-Like, you're going from room to room, but if you die you start over. However you have to be doing pretty lousy to die as there's a bunch of pickups that can really help keep you alive...such as regenerating health. I'd say the only annoying thing in this game was that you have 6 different guns to play with (and you need to use them all for a trophy), which again are RNG based, but one of the guns...the Volter, which shoots electricity out then bounces off the walls and spreads...is the gun you want. Problem is the guns are drops from defeating enemies and destroying objects so it's very easy to run into one you don't want. Now one of the trophies is for collecting 5000 coins, so you always want run around collecting coins, problem is, they disappear rather quickly...so you tend to pick up those guns you don't want because you're focused on getting those coins, or it touches you while you're blasting enemies. It's not a huge deal, but it'll for sure happen several times, when you just wanted to keep that Volter. A weapon swap instead would have been much better. Overall this was a simple game, but it was kind of addictive. I might even just go ahead and stack the PS4 version.

Popular Post Trancexistence
#51 - F1 22 Much like the real life 2022 season, this was a disappointing entry in the series when compared with it's 2021 counterpart. MyTeam and Career modes are the same as they were in F1 2021, with nothing in the way of innovation. Having said that, what's there is good and deciding what parts of team to allocate budget too and upgrade first is initially fun. New for 22 are the Pirelli Hot Laps and the inclusion of supercars which I thought were utterly pointless. If I want to drive around in supercars, I already have Gran Turismo 7 for that. I don't need them bolted on to an F1 sim. I would have much preferred the inclusion of classic F1 cars. The sport has a rich and varied history and it's frustrating that Codemasters have neglected this since F1 2013. As far as the multiplayer goes, if you've played an F1 game online before, you'll already be familiar with it being full of griefers and all round terrible drivers who'll dive bomb like Daniel Ricciardo but with the intelligence of Max Verstappen in the middle of one of his trademark bouts of red mist. Like in F1 2021 you'll need to complete 100 races which is a bit of a grind, but in fairness, it passes by quite quickly. Enjoyed it overall but just like this year's F1 season, I'm also hoping for a slightly better game when F1 23 releases. Popular Post StraightVege
Gonna catch up on a couple today: There Is An End #324 1st Fastest Achiever (2 days, 5 hours) Ah, brings to mind carefree childhood days of getting obliterated in R-Type on the Sega Master System, except this game is abundantly fair and never frustrating, making it enjoyable for mere mortals like myself. In the distant future, you hop into the cockpit with Sabrina, a talented upstart pilot searching for her MIA father. She fears the worst, since he hasn't returned from a scouting mission in the territory of hostile extraterrestrials, who had previously launched an attack against the human race. Following each mission, you unlock one of her journal entries, revealing interesting tidbits of background history and Sabrina's thoughts about the mission at hand. This intriguing little story was actually penned by none other than Colin Moriarty, formerly of IGN. Obviously, a person whom I agree with on vanishingly little outside of gaming, but I do recall liking most of his reviews and whatnot regardless. I honestly had no clue that the guy was making games now, so spotting his name in the credits surprised me a bit. Habroxia 2 offers substantial value for only a few bucks (aren't sales grand?), boasting four worthwhile gameplay modes, a lengthy campaign with multiple routes to completion and impressive enemy diversity, two new game plus playthroughs that are actually different enough to be fun, and an addictive upgrades system. Sabrina's ship features a 360-degree firing radius, directed twin-stick style on the right analog, which actually works extremely well in a side-scrolling space shooter of this sort. It lets you take strategic angles on the enemy, staying out of their various bullet patterns while safely blasting them. I also quite appreciated how the game encourages you to aggressively utilize your craft's boost ability in an offensive manner, ramming through foes and charging past dangerous sections full of projectiles. Additionally, the upgrade system lends a satisfying sense of progression throughout, leading to you feeling really powerful when the primary gun is eventually maxed out on damage, fire rate, and spread. There's a number of sub-weapons available for pick-up in levels as well, but I didn't find most of them terribly useful, other than the screen-clearing laser. It was simply a delight to play overall, with my only real complaint being the lack of an option for d-pad ship controls. I'm generally more comfortable with that in 2D titles, which made the Boost Mode levels—wherein you navigate through narrow passages at high speed—harder for me than they probably needed to be. A great, highly polished game nonetheless, and among the exceedingly few nowadays which I couldn't seem to put down from start to finish. It appears that the PS5 version has a ridiculously annoying trophy set, though, so I doubt I'll be replaying this one in the future, much as I'd like to. Shame they went in that direction. The Outer Worlds Platinum Trophy #325 Yep, I believe I'm comfortable with stating that I enjoyed this brutally funny satire of unfettered capitalism and dystopian corporate greed more than any modern Fallout title. Promised employment and a better life in the distant Halcyon star system colony, you rest in suspended animation aboard the good ship Hope, drifting through space for over 70 years, until a mad scientist abruptly thaws you to consciousness again via the administration of a solvent, which may or may not kill you in the future. As it turns out, corporations lie an awful lot, and the Halcyon colony is actually dying for a number of reasons. According to eccentric space grandpa, your only chance at saving it (and yourself) lies in reviving your many fellow passengers on the Hope, since they're some of the most brilliant minds Earth had to offer. Problem is, he doesn't have enough of the dimethyl sulfoxide he used to bring you back, so you'll need to help him acquire more of it, which involves commandeering a ship of your own, and recruiting a ragtag crew of misfits to assist you. Or, you could just let the colony rot, opting to look out for numero uno instead—this is a comedic RPG, after all, so there's no obligation to play the hero. As expected from an Obsidian RPG, their razor-sharp wit and biting social commentary is definitely on point here. Frequently, I found myself imagining a clever line that my character or companion might say next, only for it to actually be heard in-game mere moments later. These characters are really that relatable, with a legitimately likeable cast of companions (basically everyone loves Ashly Burch as Parvati) and well-written, zany NPCs. Words are far more lethal than any weapon in Outer Worlds, so you can literally talk your way through almost anything with the correct dialogue skill checks—or launch yourself into the sun, if your character happens to be a few peas short of a casserole. A genuinely amusing game, perhaps not in a "laugh out loud" manner, but the morbid truth of it all kept me smirking throughout. All of its systems are nicely streamlined, and while areas and quests are admittedly pretty condensed compared to a Fallout, I almost see that as a positive, since the game doesn't overstay its welcome; it's about as long as it needed to be. I simply adore the art design, too! Locations are so appealingly colorful, with flora and fauna that bring to mind cheesy film sets from retro sci-fi shows and movies. That aforementioned rare chemical utilized to rouse you from hibernation might be risky, but it certainly has its upsides: bullet time! The substitute for V.A.T.S. in The Outer Worlds is Tactical Time Dilation, or TTD. Essentially, the world enters slow motion when you press L1, with your shots then inflicting special crippling effects on enemies, depending on what body part you choose to manually pop them in. This works well enough, and although the combat is nothing to write home about compared to true FPS titles, it's more than adequate. Using a sniper to behead an entire camp of deranged marauders before they can hardly move a muscle is quite satisfying, and the aiming controls feel super smooth. It's a rather easy game on the default difficulty setting, though, so there's really no motivation to optimize your gear or anything; heck, your companions do most of the work in fights if you let them. The enemy variety is also noticeably lacking, thus battles become awfully repetitive by the conclusion. Put more baddie types in the upcoming sequel, please! Maybe most importantly of all, the game didn't crash even once during my 60 hours with it, unlike New Vegas, which froze literally every 30 seconds towards the end on PS3. Altogether, I quite enjoyed my romp around the Halcyon star system with my motley family of loyal crew members, being a thorn in the side of megacorps. I'm kinda distraught about the follow-up being a Microsoft exclusive now, which obviously runs counter to the series ethos, but I suppose I understand why it had to be that way. Still sucks. Whoa, whoa, whoa... it's Rizzo's! Edited April 9, 2023 by StraightVege
