Popular Post HansPatat050
#86 The Order: 1886 Enjoyment: 7/10 Fun quick shooter, the graphics are great and the mix between old and a little sci-fi is interesting. The story is nice and the cinematics make up for the lack of a 'skip' button. I'm still not convinced that collectibles add any value to a shooter but it wasn't too bad. Difficulty: 3/10 few challenging shootouts but not too difficult. When I finished the game I only had 1 trophy left, so quite straightforward list as well. Time: 7 hours #87 Slipstream Enjoyment: 6/10 Nice indie classic racer. Don't expect anything fancy, it has PS2 graphics and it's linear racing. The neon style is nice and it really feels like an old game. It's a game to sit back and relax and drive through classic neon style environments. I would recommend to pick it up when it's on sale. Difficulty: 2/10 Played it on medium difficulty Time: 7 hours #88 Steep Enjoyment: 9/10 I I picked it up for free on PS+ in January 2018. This was my first year I went skiing so I went all-in on this game, together with a few friends. I didn't care about trophies back then so it was winking at me on my backlog since then. Now it was time to finish it. The game is absolutely great. The open world feels huge and you can go anywhere, you can easily go 10-15 minutes down a mountain with ski's/snowboard/sled/wingsuit/paraglide without reaching the base. You can go super fast or relax, make easy turns and enjoy the environment or go rogue with a wingsuit flying inches over the slopes. I has the Ubisoft assasins creed feel to it. All types of sports feel and behave differently. You're in an open world with other online players (yes, online only game) and there are always a few around, which amazed me considering how big the map is. Shout out to the guy with level 417, that's some serious boarding time (when I platted I was level 32). If anyone is looking for a snowsports game then this is it. However, Difficulty: 7.5/10 the game is hard, especially the platinum. The controls are straightforward but it has a learning curve to get a grip on the snow, how to make good and useful turns, how to do effective jumps, tricks and what to do if you're going 100 kph down a hill and need a turn left and right while avoiding trees which will knock you down instantly. The most difficult part are the 115 gold medals. When I went back to the game I was pleasantly suprised that my non-trophy hunting 2018-self already got 40 gold medals. Some challenges are 10/10 in difficulty, close to impossible and have only 1 perfect line you'll have to master to get a gold medal. Don't let this hold you back, it's worth it and with more than 2% plat achievers it's doable. Trial and error. There are 118 challenges, 115 require a gold medal. Popular Post Wurstmann69
#66 Deathloop (PS5) Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 3/10 Time to plat: 13h I really, really wished I would have enjoyed Deathloop more but the game never really clicked for me. I liked the first 3-4 hours where you find out about the daily routines of the visionaries but for some reason the longer I played the more tedious the game became for me. I normally try to finish games asap whenever I start a new game nowerdays. But with Deathloop I put it down like 5 times. The aestetics and the gunplay are nice. The story is weird but does the job. Overall I know that Deathloop is not a bad game, it's just not my cup of tea. Edited April 20, 2023 by Wurstmann69

Popular Post CaptainMcStuffin
#101 - Devil May Cry 5 I kind of regret not making it #100; however, I made Resident Evil 4 Remake #100, so I couldn't go wrong either way. Though, I think I'll do the Special Edition as a milestone, possibly #125. That being said, this game was the most fun I've ever had with a hack and slash. Constantly improving just kept me coming back for more and more. It got to the point where an S rank alone didn't satisy me, I wanted the highest possible score on levels. It's solidified its place in my top 5 games of all time, and I highly recommend it. I may also take a look at the previous installments, though, I imagine it will be somewhat jarring to go backwards. Ah well.
Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum 288 and 289 Fun: 7/10 (Grinding for levels is a 3/10) Difficulty: 4/10 Monark has you play as a guy that has amnesia in a school that has been sealed away by a mysterious force and you're also pulled into another world called the Otherworld where the combat takes place. This game without the option turned on to reduce damage is challenging and buffs/debuffs do help a lot and they do stack 5 times. As you play you gain additional fiends that join you and your other human companion that you currently have with you for the story arc. You do eventually come to a point where you have to play through each character's act 2 arc and after you complete them all, you unlock the final part of the story. The combat mechanics are complicated as you don't have an MP meter but a MAD gauge that if it maxes out you lose control of your character that gone MAD and they attack anyone including you. After you clear the main game and beat the bonus boss, you'll likely be left with a few hours of grinding for levels to max out everyone to 99.

Popular Post Charizarzar
#178 A Plague Tale: Innocence Innocence Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Fantastic game, really not surprised it's amassed such a following. I guess the clue was in the name, but it was a lot more bleak and gross than I was expecting - the rats were seriously unsettling, and on top of that there are a number of memorable parts that have you traipsing through blood, mud, and dead bodies (animals and people). There isn't much I've played that's quite like it - maybe Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons in terms of having two siblings at the forefront, but there's no doubt that Amicia is the main character here rather than having to constantly juggle between both. Hugo doesn't feel like too much of a burden though, and he's such a sweet little guy that he's very hard not to like (he's basically what Daniel in LiS 2 should've been like). I like stealth games, so while I don't often play games with a character who's very weak in head-on combat, it didn't feel too jarring, though the stealth mechanics perhaps could've been made more of a challenge. There are also many times where you can skip killing an enemy altogether - which perhaps makes more sense within the story - or you can just embrace your dark side and use enemies as bait rather than granting them a quick kill. Negatives: Only one that I can think of, where in the final chapter of the game your friend pushes a cart while you provide cover from archers and footsoldiers. As mentioned, Amicia isn't made for up-close combat, so this section felt very awkward to do as it's hard to prime your slingshots when an enemy is running at you hard. After a few times of ripping my hair out I looked it up and found it was a notoriously annoying part of the game. Followed some advice to ignore the archers as they endlessly respawn and got it done after only a couple more attempts. But that was the only thing that soured the experience a little, especially as you had to go through the repetitive animation to get the cart moving each time. Ultimately a really nice experience and was able to get everything done in one playthrough by juggling both guides. Not too many collectibles and has chapter select if needed. Can't wait to start the sequel!
Popular Post ZombieSlayaMr
#14 - Grand Theft Auto 3: Definitive Edition 12 Hours | 8/10 Enjoyment | 3/10 Difficulty King of Liberty City I grew up with these games, so they hold a special place in my heart. GTA 3 has been and will always be my favorite in the series and it was nice to revisit this game for the, probably, 100th time and complete it. For me, the game was pretty easy since I know a lot of the strats and know where a good bit of the collectibles and locations for things are by heart. So in that regard, the game has a pretty low difficulty score for me. Its also a pretty short platinum, so I would recommend anyone to pick the trilogy up when it's on sale and get this platinum. Popular Post Ala-Arska
Lost Sphear Tale of Memories and the Moon All trophies earned This will be remembered. Unless I forget. Lost Sphear (nope, that's not a typo... I think) is a JRPG as safe and basic as one can be. The story is about collecting lost memories of people, places and items and getting the world whole again. Basic stuff, then. Funnily, my memories of this game are already fading Characters are your usual rag tag team of young ones, tough adults, soldiers and joyful teens. Nothing exceptional. Gameplay and combat is a lot like in Chrono Trigger. During your turn, you can move around the battlefield and with "clever" positioning you can hit multiple enemies at once. Pretty neat, but as before, been there done that. Nothing really shines in LS. Then again, there's nothing really bad about it. It's just "okay" fun for everyone. Well, fast travel would've been nice. I think 25% of game time was just Sunday jogging back and forth. Amnesia is already blanking my memory of Lost Sphear, so long story short: An average 7+/10 game for a JRPG fan, who longs to scratch that itch and have a stress free experience "Jesus Christ...that's Jason Bourne."

Popular Post slender_adrian
#120 Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Grind: 4/10 Time: 124 hours Rarity: [Ultra Rare 1.5% / Very Rare 8.74%] "To live is..." When I was younger I recall seeing this game on the internet and at the time it shocked me seeing it, I saw it as a pretty dark and obscure game at that time, especially the gun in the head part, and it just stayed in my mind like that "edgy" game, but when I played it for the first time a while back, I absolutely fell in love with it. I played Persona 3 FES, and I think that's a better game than Portable in some ways and Portable in others, despite the differences they're pretty much the same game, but Persona 3 is a complete work of art. It's a game where the story will catch you up immediately, and it's a game full of symbolism which is just incredible, and it will make you think about life. The atmosphere for this game is amazing and the 2000s vibe it has is so damn good. The OST for this game is a ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE, Brand New Days, Time, Burn my Dread, and the incredible Soul Phrase are all bangers, and just naming my favorites there haha, P3P opening is my favorite op from Persona games, that is in the visuals and the song. The story of Persona 3 is amazing and in that played a huge part the amazing characters this game has, for me this is the number one reason I love this game, the characters are just so natural and well written you can relate to them, there's not one character that don't look for a purpose or meaning to his life or that feels as a stereotypical character from a trash anime like it happens in all P5, characters in this game just feel so real, and that endingggg, it was just too perfect. It doesn't matter which version you play, Persona 3 is a beautiful game about life that is worth every hour you spend on it. Totally recommend it! Yes, P3 is in a completely different league from P5, but what's the Portable version? Well, I didn't this game was pretty much a point and click visual novel, I mean is a PSP game after all. The only thing I hated of this version was the removal of the animated cutscenes, I think it would have been perfect to keep them for the male character like it used to be. Despite that, Portable is as just as the name suggest, a simplified version of P3, but it's pretty much the same experience from any other persona game, sitting down pressing x for 3 hours reading some person life haha. For me I would love to have FES instead of Portable in the re release, or that they grab the cool stuff from Portable and put it to FES but that's never gonna happen. Either way, this version of the game is still incredible. As for the plat, well for anyone familiar with P5 plat is pretty much the same but shorter. I highly recommend doing pretty much everything on your first playthrough, that means getting all trophies except for one related to finishing the game with both characters. The guide here is one PSNP works just fine for that purpose. I spend 114 hours on my first run, 5 hours getting the Persona Compendium done and another five hours on the 2nd run, so if you aren't interested in experiencing the game with 2 different characters and what to get the plat as soon as possible do everything on one run, so that you can skip doing anything on your 2nd run of the game other than having triangle press. I would love to play the game as the female character and experience all but that was just too much for me, I didn't want to spend 200 hours again on a single persona game haha. One advice regarding to The Nose Doesn't Always Know trophy since the guide here doesn't say some vital information about this trophy, making it a pain to get thanks to that, first off this trophy needs a fusion accident to happen so the first step is to discard all fool personas, this is the most important step since all accidents are fool personas, and the second step is to fuse personas in triple fusion, that has a 1/32 chance of occurring, this applies in late game too, just get rid of your fool personas and you're good to go. I wasted a lot of hours thanks to the guide only saying "spam fusions" until I looked up how to properly do it. This is a pretty awesome game with a cool plat, if you use the guide here you'll have 0 problems getting this amazing game its amazing platinum trophy! And finally only one main Persona plat remains, and that's one of the best JRPGs of all time, Persona 4. My original plan was playing the vita version but since the remasters came out I'll be doing both, but that would be a task for later this year.

Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #364 We Were Here (PS4) The Curse of Castle Rock Obtained all We Were Here trophies Disclaimer: I guess I should say......this isn't strictly my Most Recent Platinum, I'm just slowly catching up with reviews, so I thought I'd post each new one in here as well, just like I used to, I'm hopeful it won't take me too long to catch up It’s been a little while since I wrote one of these, so thankfully I’ve got something fairly simple in We Were Here, to be able to ease back in with. This is in no way a deliberate effort to write something shorter, it’s merely a side effect of the game itself being quite short. With that in mind, despite the game being fairly short, I do think it’s still very much worth your time, and if you can find a good co-op partner to play this game with, there’s an interesting and enjoyable time to be had by the both of you, but the why of that, is what I’m about to elaborate on. So without further ado, let’s get into this properly. Released all the way back in early 2017, We Were Here, was developed as a student project by Total Mayhem Games, and essentially takes the form of a co-operative puzzle game. Usually, I’d give a summary of the plot – but, in all honesty, and this really isn’t to the games detriment at all, I could probably sum it up in just a line or two. I know.... if you’ve read anything I’ve written before, thank goodness you’re probably thinking, he’s not going to ramble. Essentially, you can boil We Were Here down to this, you play as two Antarctic explorers, who get trapped in a Castle, between you, it’s your job to solve some puzzles, and find your way to the exit. That description seems like you’ll have a fairly limited experience on first impression, but it’s not, the game has a decent amount of variety and substance, considering what little there is of it to actually experience, and for a student game, it really is quite excellently crafted. From a gameplay perspective, it’s fairly simplistic, button-wise, you can move your character, and the camera, with another button assigned for interactions. Whilst it is possible to play this game solo, with a second account or controller, after my own personal co-operative experience with this game, I really do feel like that’s the way you’d enjoy the game the most, which I’ll get into in a little more detail, further into the review. In essence, you can boil the gameplay down to this; one character is required to actively solve the puzzles primarily, and the other player is required to relay instructions via walkie-talkie, on how to solve said puzzles. I played through the game doing both things, and each perspective did feel different enough to keep the game fresh. Visually the game is a little rough around the edges in places, that’s to be expected though from a game with clearly an incredibly limited budget. However, the design of the Castle itself, the areas in which you visit, and the overall design feel uniform and very much part of the same place, which is something that sometimes gets easily, and unfortunately lost in a game like this. When dealing with games set in just one predominant location, games so often fall into the trap of aspects of those locations feeling completely out of place, and that was never something that I personally experienced whilst playing We Were Here. Whilst I usually like to go into details on the sound, or sound design aspect of a game, I don’t feel like I can in too much detail, as the soundtrack is fairly limited, as are the sound effects themselves. Although, it must be said, that what there is of it – is both atmospheric, and interesting. These pieces usually end up ranging from both ambient, to tension building electronic music. If you’d like a comparison of sorts, the soundtrack feels very evocative of nineties era video game soundtracks, where one distinct musical piece usually permeates throughout one area, and can at times add some real character to it, whilst others end up feeling a bit repetitive and intrusive if you spend longer than you mean to on one specific puzzle. The area, in which We Were Here really shines however, is in its gameplay, and the coordination that comes alongside that. In this games case, due to the very nature of it, coordination is key, so this is a good one to play with a very good friend or a partner. I chose to play this with my girlfriend, and we ended up having a very enjoyable experience with it. In terms of the puzzles themselves, I don’t think there’s any aspect of the game that will really test you all too much. But despite the games limited nature – let’s not forget, this game can be finished easily in under an hour, yet despite this, the puzzles are rather varied, and usually offer something new each time. When I said coordination is key, I meant it – a perfect example of this, is that I hadn’t communicated that I didn’t actually know how to play Chess, and one puzzle in particular requires a very basic working knowledge of chess to solve. So down to my incompetency this took us a little longer – well, that and the fact the game didn’t make it clear which piece was the Queen, as you know, Queen’s don’t traditionally have facial hair, so that one threw us off more than a little bit too. At times in We Were Here – sometimes the real puzzle comes in the form of explaining something to your partner, in a way that they’ll understand. This was an aspect of the game that I particularly enjoyed, as it encourages not only good communication, but working out an almost shorthand between the two of you. My girlfriend and I couldn’t help but wonder if some of the symbols were designed deliberately for this kind of purpose. Perhaps our minds were in the gutter, perhaps they weren’t (let’s face it, they probably were haha) however, there’s certain puzzles in the game that require reading symbols in a book, to solve a puzzle and one of the symbols in particular looks, well, to be perfectly honest it looks phallic. So our short hand for that was often, “the one I’m looking at, looks like a thin, thick, big, or choad dick, with a line through it.” Yes, it was funny, no that’s not the only silly short hand things we found, the game is absolutely full of things like that, especially with one with paintings, where you can both see paintings, but you have to describe what you both see. She unfortunately had to try and translate what my brain, which has a tendency towards surreal imagery anyway, was trying to communicate, moments like these ended up often being very enjoyable and memorable. At the end of these I often find myself asking the question, would I recommend this? In this games case, I absolutely would, I’m more than a little interested to play the other entries in the series, and whilst this experience is a very short one, it’s one that I retain very fond memories of, so whether you play this with a friend, a partner, or yourself, there’s plenty of enjoyment to be found within, and as a nice little bonus none of the trophies are all too taxing either.
