And...UGH!!!

 

So, I popped 4 of my 5 plats this morning (5:45 AM CST - rise and shine, folks!). The offending party? Amnesia. Secrets Revealed unfortunately didn't pop the first time through. My guess is that I didn't listen to the voices long enough, or something, but I'll give it another whirl after I get home from work today.

Happy birthday vita.

Done my 5. Congrats to everyone else on theirs and massive props to Crimson Idol for doing it.

This is the first community event I've taken part in after lurking on the site for 2 1/2 years and it certainly won't be the last. I've had great fun doing it and it's reignited my love for the vita.

I popped 4 of my 5 games, but I'll need to finish Mutant Blobs Attack after work this evening. It's a little more involved than the other 4 games due to my final trophy.

So I'm finally done with my games. Here's my list.

 

Platinum #17 - Ratchet & Clank 2

He Went Commando

Great game, not as awesome as the third part of the franchise but still great nonetheless.

This is actually the first game I gave up on because of the platinum bolt races, which have really bad controls on the Vita version.

I was really impressed when I managed to complete those races within an hour.

That probably means that I got better in general within those 2 years. :D 

Anyways, this platinum trophy is my personal highlight of the bunch.

 

Platinum #18 - Code:Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~

This is the game that surprised me the most. I really didn't think that an otome game could be this great.

I came into this game with low expectations because I got it for free on PS+ and played Amnesia: Memories beforehand, which is mediocre to be honest.

Now it's one of my favorite visual novels and one of the few titles that I would never have known about if it weren't for PS+.

While it's an otome game, the focus is the beautiful story of the game, set in a deep steampunk universe which is rich of detail.

Each and every one of the characters is great in their own way. None of them lack depth, and it made me want to experience each and every ending of the game.

Honestly, if you like VN's and got this game for free, make sure to check it out, it's really worth the read.

 

Platinum #19 - PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate

Great Shot Kid!

Another game I abandoned years ago, and I honestly don't know why.

It manages to keep the levels difficult enough to be challenging, without being too annoying.

It's also one of the few games that can teach you new concepts without making you feel like a 6 year old kid being taught in school.

Otherwise, the visuals were great and it's one of the few excellent Vita ports, going as far as changing the artstyle from the PS4 version.

While it's 2.5D on the PS4 it has a crisp 2D look on the Vita. 

Another great point about this game are the boss fights. While a few weren't that creative, others were amazing.

They make great use of the mechanics introduced in each boss' chapter and the difficulty feels just right.

 

Platinum #20 - Persona 4 Golden

Golden Completed

That's the longest game of the bunch, which took me over a hundred hours to complete.

Those were 100 hours well spent though, for obvious reasons that have been stated a million times on the internet before.

I kinda got afraid when popping this one because I accidentally missed 2 Personas in the compendium, which I had to search afterwards.

 

Platinum #21 - Color Guardians

Legendary

So, this game surprised me both in a good and a bad way. 

While it looks abysmal, has a mediocre soundtrack, and I don't even want to talk about the story,

the gameplay is fun, the concept is pretty unique and in a way pretty challenging, and the controls are nice and responsive.

So I guess to describe this game, I could say that it's a great canvas with a terrible painting on it.

 

Platinum #22 - Amnesia: Memories

Memories Returned

This is pretty much the polar opposite of Code: Realize in terms of otome games.

The focus of this game is dating guys, while the story of losing your memories is a background thought.

If you're into otome games, you might like this one a lot. 

I personally thought it to be ok, while nothing special.

 

Platinum #23 - Day of the Tentacle Remastered

I platted this last to end my list with another bomb. 

This game is the remastered version of an old point and click adventure game.

It's got some of that nice old-school humor as well as an interesting concept, solving puzzles in 3 different timelines.

Another impressive PS+ title. :) 

 

100% #1 - Pumped BMX

The Aaron Ross Challenge

The first 100% title I completed for this event. It's a nice game to play when you don't have anything better to do.

It does have some problems though, especially difficulty problems. While it's separated into 5 different sections, the difficulty is still all over the place.

Overall I'd say I had fun playing this.

 

100% #2 - Letter Quest Remastered

Walk of Fame

If you were to cross Scrabble with a turn based RPG, this is what you get.

All in all this was a very fun game to play.

Cheating Pays Dividents

I abandoned this game ages ago because I had trouble popping this trophy. 

I got incredibly lucky and managed to get it the first time this minigame came up.

I've also completed the DLC pack I have, so I don't know if this counts as 1 or 2 games.

Nonetheless I'm happy both ways. :D 

 

 

Holy crap, I just spent more time writing this out than actually popping the trophies. Anyways, here's the list on my profile, because other people have been posting them as well.

Thanks, and don't worry about it, I'll give the game another go after the event. I'll be sure to make a backup prior to the point of no return in case I miss one of the items. I'm confident that weapons/armors are unaffected by the glitch, I've already bought all equipment I lost due to the glitch.

Got the platinum in Root Letter. I still have mixed feelings about the game. The first 8 chapters didn't convince me, but the endings kinda saved the game from utterly disappointing me.

It doesn't matter how many games you prepared. It's the fact that you participated successfully that matters. And you cared more for Vita on this day than Sony themselves. And congrats for the first plat on that account! :)

In honor of Vita's 5th anniversary, I popped my first Final Fantasy platinum (not from the main franchise but it still counts!!) and 43rd overall platinum trophy.

Played the entire game on Vita. Unfortunately I won't have time to pop any others (unless I cave and buy Mayo :P) but at least I was able to celebrate a bit.
