dmsleight Posted November 1, 2016 Share Posted November 1, 2016 I am rewatching star wars. I saw 1-3. The quality starts very low but gets better with each movie. Anakan's acting is pretty bad in all three (first was terrible). Also, 'Darth Vader' is a big disappointment. He supposedly "hunted down and killed the jedi", but the only 'jedi' he killed were unsuspecting children. And in his 20(ish) year training under Sidious taught him to pinch peoples airpipes... His 'power' didn't seem to grow much over that span... The story of anakin is a big let down. Similarly, saber skills plummet after ep3. Flips, spins, and speed are reduced to (largely) standing toe to toe and hacking. Also, the Jedi are pretty pathetic. Tons die in a droid battle (ep2)? Really? the great jedi? They seemed to be quite weak. Padme (powerless) is kicking tail, and they crumple and die... sad. And anakin has a point (though he is corrupt himself and his perspective is scewed), the jedi are far from virtuous in ep 3. And I know the focus of the story is Anakin/Obiwan,/kwigon but "the great council" basically sits on their butts and sends them to do everything.
