Another entry for my Second card, courtesy of Fights in Tight Spaces!

 

 

 

 

 

 

An awesome rogue like deck builder/ small-scale-TBS game, FitS is basically a pretty perfect combination of Slay the Spire and Into the Breach, with a dash of Superhot, and a whole lot of John Wick, The Bourne Identity and James Bond!

 

The game is fantastically good fun, and has one of the best soundtracks I've heard in a while (which has been getting major play on my Spotify rotation!)

It's got a hell of a grind in unlocking all the cards - requiring an almost absurd amount of XP - 1,000,000 points, with a really good run on the hardest difficulty generally netting, at best, around 15,000...

...but as rogue likes and deck builders go, this is one of the greats!

 

 

Technically this is one of those "looks grey, because of transparent background" games...

...but it does have a white streak as a background on top of that (visible against the default grey), and white on the agent's shirt... and since the image itself is pure Black and White, with White being the background colour, I'm comfortable saying that White is the right colour for this one!

Okay I'm back with some more games on my second checklist, up to 12 out of 16, and I'm still gonna rank them at this stage happy to say I've not played any absolute tosh since the last update  

 

 

1. Humanity - You can turn people into teddies, first place
2. Stray - I'm allergic to cats, This is the next best thing
3. Sayonara Wild Hearts - The tarot cards read that this game contains bangin' tunes
4. Remember Me - Dontnod's first game with a tonne of interesting ideas, like customizable combos and the memory remix scenes
5. Watch Dogs Legion - I played as beefeater wearing a Spartan Helmet, perfect character, zero changes needed
6. Crash Team Rumble -  I would die for Coco, shame there's only one major game mode
7. Solitaire Conspiracy - Greg Miller is in this game, I love that guy, but I can't take him seriously when I watched him review over 50 packs of Oreos
8. Gris - What was that stuff about turning into a cube supposed to mean?
9. Geometric Sniper: Blood in Paris - A point and click game where the answer is usually "Use gun on target"
10. Ape Academy 2 - This game kept coming up when I was wanting to google Escape academy dlc, wish it didn't. I wouldn't have played this game without rewind.
11. Freddie Spaghetti 2 - F*** that noodle
12. Gabbuchi - I have no opinions on this game other than it got hard and I gave up

Game #9 finished! - STREET FIGHTER 3: 3RD STRIKE for red!!!

 

 

I was planning on doing this eventually... I've been stuck with a single trophy for a while, and I kind of got an itch to get something UR on the board so decided to do a few combo challenges today while I was bored... and well, one thing led to another, 20% combos complete slowly became 44% complete (50% is what's needed for the 100%) and well... I got blisters on me fingers!!! BUT THE TROPHY POPPED! BOOYAH!

 

Totally worth it though! Such an amazing fighting game. This game was well ahead of it's time and still has some of the most gorgeous graphics out there for a classic arcade fighter. I wouldn't give it the title of best fighting game ever (that's reserved for Tekken 5), but I can definitely see why other people say it is! 

 

The combos feel pretty fair and the fighting mechanics are great. However, the best part is definitely the cast of characters. The game really had a different style of character for everyone, and each one was really cool and unique. Makes you really appreciate the old SFs. I can see why people are always yammering to bring back their favorites, haha.

 

Anyways, back to P4G... I think I spotted a way to squeeze P4G into my card, but I'll need the Doc's approval for it... I think it will come down to if Kingdom of Alamur is acceptable as grey and if Tales of Arise is okay for brown... if that works, I can shove it all in.

 

I did a preview of it and, to me, it actually makes the Rainbow look slightly better as it puts the focus of the background color and is more striking to the eyes imo... however I don't want to be "taking the piss" trying to finagle everything I play into my card either.

 

However, that's a tomorrow problem. Until next time!

I love Neptunia but this...was not fun.  I really hated the combat and there is a lot of combat.  The mechanics were poorly described, I literally figured part of it out during the final-final boss...  There's a lot of 'stuff' in the game but none of it is all that fun, nor does it mesh together that well.

Big update for Card #2!

• A Short Hike was a cute game. Nice 4h plat that also counted for the Gaming for the Animals event!
• Shape of the World was extremely meh for me. 
• It was interesting to see how light-hearted and silly Final Fantasy III's story and tone were. Wasn't a huge fan of going back to blank slate characters like FF1, though. 
• Then Final Fantasy IV goes for a much more mature storyline. I'm assuming that FF6 is going to be my favorite Pixel Remaster, but story-wise this game will likely be second.
• Final Fantasy V has our final Dawn Warriors (TM) plotline, and goes back to a more jovial tone but still having some more serious moments. I especially loved how the Job System was done in this game.

I swapped OVIVO out for Final Fantasy on White, since I realized that I could have a mostly-FF card! If only I hadn't used Final Fantasy II on my first card, //sigh.

Small update! 

 

Took a break from Soul Hackers 2 to knock out Bleak Dystopia.

 

It was a nice little walking simulator that did an excellent job of conveying an atmosphere. And the pieces of lore as you found every body were actually good. Way better than I thought it would be and that is 99% because of the atmosphere and lore.

July Update!

 

Yep, the update is finally here.  Let's see what has been happening this past month.

 

Light Blue: Lake - Completed Lake and moved it here for the Light Blue requirement.  That means Omno moved over to Blue.  

You play as the prodigal son (actually a girl) returning to your hometown to help out at the Post Office.  After being gone for quite a few years, you find reconnecting with people from your past to be happy or some people are a bit more cynical.  But being out in the fresh air, walking around delivering the mail, meeting people (and cats) is quite a nice, relaxing change from your high-power job in the city.  I almost felt the fresh air as I walked around the lake.

 

There was also the photography contest, where you can drive and walk around to take photos of the scenery, buildings or people.  Hiked up to the watchtower, where the view was fantastic, and I was able to take a photo of an eagle in flight.  Sitting at the campfire with two RVers, listening to one playing the guitar, and just enjoying the evening (and got my own RV for a road trip). Learned about metal detecting with a detectorist scanning the field for treasures.  Using the local DJ/radio personality to reach out and to try to delay the development of a new apartment project.  And of course the open-mic night at Mo's Diner.  Glad I didn't have to get up there and sing. 

 

Nice relaxing game set at a lake surrounded by a forest, with plenty of activities to do outside.  No gore, violence or weapons

I think Sleeping Dogs Definitive could fall under TAN or GREY. But I want to poll the community to see if others see what I see. Thoughts? Does this fit under TAN or GREY?

I'd say it's good for both, though better for Tan, and could even work for a green...

 

...but the community can speak en masse better than I can at this point!

If not it's cool, I've got other games I can use instead. Figured I'd ask in advanced though before I threw it on my 2nd card.

A free game, and one with some merit in terms of cute-factor and emotional connection...

...but the gameplay is pretty stilted, the flow of the game is tedious, and a lot of the gameplay is frustratingly put together. A pity, because it looks nice.... but you'll only notice that during the 7 seconds that you aren't staring at a map and trying to work out how the hell it relates to the world you're supposed to be exploring, or figure out which turn you were meant to have taken.

 

 

Sticking this for Light Blue - TBH, the Alan Wake Dark Blue and Endling Light Blue are pretty much interchangeable, but I figure it works just as well this way, so I'll dance with the girl that brung me!

Oooohhhh.... I reckon that's a tough one to justify, TBH.

 

I'd have sworn that text was Tan, rather than Grey... but even so, that image is so black overall, that I think it would be tough to justify as anything other than Black... unless you could find a Black one that was literally a solid black rectangle... or a Black Hole!

 

(side note.... I have the same problem... so have held over Dante's inferno for a black on a 4th card... on the off change I get that far!)

Maybe I'm blind but I'm seeing mostly grey in the font, but regardless thanks for the heads up. I'd use it for black but I've already got Dead Island 2 in that spot on my 2nd card.

any list you finished this year.

 

So, if it's the base game platinum list, then if you popped the plat this year, it counts, even if it was at 99% for a decade!

 

If it's a game you had platinumed for ages, but you finish a DLC list this year, that DLC list image can be used.

Great Idea. I love the Color Setting for the Games here. I appreciate the Work the gamers has put on this. The Rainbow Cards a great to look.

Added Elden Ring for Yellow and The Procession to Calvary for green. One is one of the best games I've ever played, of which I did two stacks back to back and would do a 3rd if it existed. The other is one of the funniest games I've played, despite belonging to a genre that just puts me to sleep in terms of pure gameplay. Let me know if Elden Ring doesn't look yellow enough, I tend to try to match the color examples given and the leeway is making me confused. Kinda feels like switching ER with the Vanishing of Ethan Carter would look better ?

 

 

I was tempted to put Watch Dogs: Legion on Maroon, but it felt like a stretch since it does look way more red to me.

For brown, I played Oxenfree II: Lost Signals

 

 

I really love the first Oxenfree game. I originally played it on my PC years ago, but it's one of the few games I re-purchased on my console when I got into trophy hunting just so I could have the platinum for it. ? I've been looking forward to the sequel for a long time, and I really enjoyed it! I do prefer the first Oxenfree game story wise just because I relate to the themes of grief more, but the characters in Lost Signals were still relatable in their own way. I just wish Night School Studio would allow for chapter select on their games lol. I found myself getting a bit burnt out in my third playthrough of the game because each playthrough is pretty much the same, but there is three different endings which all require certain dialogue choices and decision making that don't really change the overall story much. Still a fun experience though, I'm really glad the sequel didn't disappoint me ?

Ghostwire won't work for White I'm afraid  -one of the only really specific rules is that pure black and white images always fall on the background, so it would need to be a black one - sorry!

 

I'd suggest sticking The Suicide of Rachel Foster into white (since white is a more difficult colour to fill than Orange... and maybe swap The Vanishing of Ethan Carter to Orange, as in my experience, Tan is easier to fill than Orange, so that would make the freed up spot a much easier fill!)

Sorry I didn't catch that one before - there's like 173 people in this event (which TBH, I expected about 30 people to join at most!) so I sometimes miss checking everything first time ?
