LancashireLad87
@Copanele The first Ninja Gaiden is slower paced and has a fair amount of backtracking through the levels whilst NGS2 is more streamlined. I prefer NGS2 because combat is a lot faster, more DMC-esque if you will. If you do get round to the series at some point, if you need any advice, let me know! @Lord_of_Ra Yes you gotta love gatekeeping! I've seen a few gaming sessions on here for the PS3 version, there was a giant list of pre-requisites before the guy would play with you lol
Popular Post FreshFromThaDeli
Well done. Reading this makes me want to go back and finish up Sigma 1 on the Vita. My favourite is still Ninja Gaiden Black on OG Xbox. That game was a marvel back in the day when I played it. It still holds up remarkably well. Such a shame TN lost the source code so we'll never truly see a remaster of that great game.

The first one is ok, but you can tell they were first starting out with the formula, kind of like how DMC1 started good and DMC3 perfected it so much more. Hahah that will be a no, because at this point I NEED to start with the first one, otherwise I'd betray my ninja way! 😂 But if I ever get stuck, I'll count on you and @LancashireLad87 to give me some pointers, or at least teach me how to do the Izuna Drop. As long as I don't have to deal with co-op though, I think I will be fine...hopefully 😅

If I get to it, I'm more than happy to help! As for coop, I'd suggest just skip the S2 PS3 ver tbh. Not worth it. From what I've read from the lad, the Ps4 version is a more solid solo challenge. NG1 has no coop trophies. It's a solo hell too lol. NG3 and Razor's Edge does have coop though, but I dunno about the Ps4 ver. @LancashireLad87 maybe you know more about those? The PS4 counterpart to PS3's NGRE does not have coop and can be (has to be) done solo. Just do not expect it to be as easy as Sigma 2's trials. Ultimate Ninja difficulty is just as bullshit, if not worse, than it was on PS3. The Final boss on Ultimate Ninja difficulty during the story mode is god awful. Better yet, be thankful we didnt get NG3 vanilla as that was even more aggravating on Ultimate Ninja difficulty.

None of the PS4 versions have co-op of any kind so you don't need to worry about that. As far as NG3 RE is concerned there is a get out of jail free card in terms of getting through the game easier called the Eclipse Scythe 360T dash strategy. This strategy grants a ton of invulnerability frames, and interrupts/cancels enemy/boss attack animations. The orginal NG3 is beyond terrible because you only had access to a single ninpo and weapon (Dragon sword) unless you paid for a DLC which gave you the Eclipse Scythe and the Falcon Talons. In NG3 RE you don't need to complete every single mission for trophies which is nice so you can pick and choose the "easier ones". Am I glad to hear that, cuz I just got the PS3 ver of Razors edge, and gonna put NG3 on sale later on. What I like about Razors Edge is that you can solo the list even on PS3, as I’ve seen peeps do several UN Trials solo, even with Kasumi. Ofc there are some that might be near impossible, but there are more than enough doable ones to get the gold trophies…I hope! lol 1

Comparing both games, Ng3 was abysmal due to numerous things, such as having to buy DLC weapons and a single Ninpo as @LancashireLad87 said. I would not recommend it, personally, but if you do play it - go into it with an open mind, but do not expect a Sigma 2 type of Ninja Gaiden game. The caveat if you analyze both games (NG3 and RE) is that the new "steel-on-bone" mechanic NG3 added was very, very broken if you had the Eclipse Scythe due to the range w/ a room full of enemies - basically, it was instant-kill...kinda, but non-humanoid enemies (and summoners, I think they are called?) would cancel the chain entirely. The summoners will basically block everything, unless they are on verge of death, or jump into it, and the waves, and waves of enemies both games come with? Oy vey - it gets old. RE adds Van Gelfs, but makes the other non-humanoid enemy a lot harder for some reason (??), however, makes the summoners bearable, kinda.
Popular Post LancashireLad87
Quote "Disclaimer: The information contained within this article are from my personal experience playing through the game over the last fortnight. I'm by no means an expert, however the information contained within this post will make your initial playthrough, hopefully more enjoyable and less stressful. I have plenty of souls experience under my belt before I started Nioh 2, some of that experience transferred into Nioh but the vast majority was lost in translation." @Copanele @FreshFromThaDeli @Groudon9000 @Gommes_ @Thedah @Yuber6969 @DeepEyes7 @Spookyentertainm Nioh 2 Beginners Guide Tips & Tricks After reading through the current trophy guide for Nioh 2, I was baffled at the lack of game knowledge displayed by the author therefore I took the liberty to write my personal tips and tricks guide for Nioh 2. If you've played through the soul series you'd expect Nioh 2 to be familiar and therefore not presenting much in terms of a challenge, however you'd be wrong! Nioh 2 is far more challenging than any soul game I've played through on an initial playthrough and has a much higher barrier of entry. There are so many adaptations to the souls formula that it would take me an eternity to list them all in detail. Granted your mileage from certain mechanics will vary on your playstyle, level and build. For the purpose of your initial playthrough I'm going to list what I believe to be fundamental to your experience which will hopefully prevent some unnecessary deaths and frustration. Previous experience of soul games won't help you as much as you think in Nioh 2 outside of stamina management, and whiff punishing. Before I dive into the specifics, I'd like to take this opportunity to outline some key differences between Nioh 2, and FromSoftware's soul series. Key differences between Nioh 2 and Soul games At it's core Nioh 2 has the ability to stance switch between low, mid, and high. Each stance grants benefits and setbacks, low stance will increase your mobility when dodging, actions taken by the player such as attacking and evading will consume less Ki (stamina) at the cost of dealing the least amount of damage. Mid stance is a happy medium whilst high stance will consume the most amount of Ki with slower attacks that are easily interruptible but you will deal the most damage possible. Nioh 2 allows you to equip a primary and secondary weapon as well as 2 ranged weapons. You have access to a plethora of skills and passive abilities for your chosen weapon via skill trees that requires skill points and progression to unlock. Initially you'll have access to a "Guardian Spirit" which not only provides you with certain buffs provided you meet the stat requirements to use the spirit but once you fill the spirit's gauge with amrita the games main currency you can temporarily transform into a Yokai. As far as I'm aware, Nioh 2 introduced a "Burst Counter" mechanic, basically every enemy/boss within Nioh 2 has the ability to perform a powerful attack that glows Red, instead of evading the attack you can counter it using a burst counter to deal considerable Ki damage. Once your opponent is out of Ki, you can perform a critical strike dealing massive damage. Nioh 2 is very fast-paced compared to the soul series, from the perspective of your first run through the game its crucial you take some time to adapt to the games combat which is far more complex than any soul game that proceeded it. There are far too many systems in Nioh 2 for a first-time player therefore you should focus on the important ones which I'll get into below. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Nioh 2 Core Systems you should implement into your playstyle - Ki Pulsing: Nioh 2 has a stamina recovery mechanic that has the ability to recover all the Ki you consumed by perfectly timing your button press. The more precise your timing the more Ki you'll recover. Ki pulsing is used to dispel Yokai pools that enemies create, whilst your within the confines of a Yokai area or realm your Ki regeneration will be hindered so it's in your best interest to learn how to Ki pulse efficiently. Advanced version: Ki Pulse switch stancing - With the aid of specific skills within the samurai skill tree, specifically Flux 1 and 2. These will grant you a Ki recovery bonus if you learn to combo from one stance into another seamlessly. Not only does this improve Ki management but it allows you to keep the pressure on your opponent. - Burst Counter: There are 3 forms of Guardian spirits, Brute, Ferral, and Phantom. Depending on the type of guardian spirit you use will determine how your burst counter functions. The brute BC is an actual attack rather than a counter which must be used to interrupt an opponents BC before they unleash the attack, the ferral's BC must be dodged into from distance whilst the phantom's is the hardest of the 3 to use because it requires perfect timing. - Yokai Form & Abilities: Since it takes a substantial amount of Amrita (Currency) to gain access to your Yokai Form it's imperative you use it as a last resort. Whilst transformed you will have access to Yokai skills and attacks which will help you turn the tide of battle in your favour. Taking damage whilst transformed will reduce the time you have in this mode so be careful! - Soul Cores: Nioh 2 allows you to infuse your guardian spirits with "soul cores". A soul core is a slot-able item that raises your attack and defensive stat based on your chosen guardian spirit and gives you access to an enemies specific attack so you can use it for yourself! Soul cores can be upgraded however you either have to use the same soul core so if you have a duplicate you can fuse the 2 together or use a mortal soul core. You can only use a soul core ability if you have "Anima" which you acquire by attacking therefore Nioh 2 rewards an aggressive playstyle. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Personal Advice The most important aspect of Nioh 2's combat is Ki, everything revolves around it, if you have no Ki, you have no life. It's a rare occurrence for Nioh 2 to be forgiving when your out of Ki therefore managing your Ki should be of the utmost importance. You can use stealth to sneak up behind enemies before launching a surprise attack, however this needs to be unlocked via the Ninjutsu skill tree. Believe me your most potent attacks in your arsenal even after 40+ hours into the game like I have at the time of writing are not from your chosen weapon class or even your Yokai form but through ranged attacks from a bow, rifle or hand cannon. Especially if you land headshots, it's virtually a guaranteed kill on human sized opponents! Since ranged attacks are so damaging, ammo is scarce/limited. I highly recommend making the most out of your shots, you can shoot Yokai weak spots to inflict a considerable amount of Ki damage to which will help you land a critical blow, allowing you to dispose of them more efficiently. Just remember to replenish your ammo at the Blacksmith before heading into the next side/main mission. You can augment your arsenal with the use of Ninjutsu/Omnyo magic abilities however whether you choose to use them is up to you. Ninjutsu allows you to wield various throwable projectiles such as bombs and shruikens whilst Omnyo grants you the ability to imbue your weapon with various elemental bonuses and passive buffs for a short period with various talismans. As far as consumable items are concerned, I personally recommend using Shrapnel bombs, Travel Amulets, Summoners Candles and amrita shards to refill your Yokai form. The bombs are used to throw at the blob enemies, Travel amulets allow you to rest at the last shrine without losing any of your Amrita, whilst the Summoner's candle will return your guardian spirit and any soul cores and amrita you collected from your grave. Since the candles are very useful they are a rare item and should not be over relied on. On your first playthrough you'll come across a myriad of gear and equipment, any unwanted gear can be disassembled for parts at the blacksmith or given to the Kodama Bazaar at a shrine, allowing you to trade for goods. Don't worry about fashion souls, equip any upgrades that are related to your chosen weapons and equipment and anything else get rid of it because there's plenty more where that came from. Upon completing a main mission you might be tempted to immediately play the next main mission to continue the story, in my experience it's imperative you play any side content otherwise you'll find yourself severely under-levelled for the main mission. I lost count how many times I was seduced by loot on the ground before checking my surroundings, and what resulted was more than a few jump scares! There are more than one type of weapon in the game, I'm not referring to spears and axes but Blessed and Yokai weapons. Blessed weapons deal more damage to human enemies whilst Yokai deals more damage to Yokai, makes sense! These weapons are often quite powerful and can unleash unique attacks depending on the weapon type. Finally let's discuss equipment load and toughness since these are very important. Equipment load is how much weight you can carry before your overburdened. Your mobility and Ki recovery are directly affected by your current equipment load percentage. Akin to soul games you have the equivalent of "fat rolling". As a general rule, never under any circumstances exceed 70% of your maximum equip load. Toughness on the other hand, is your ability to block attacks, the more toughness you have the less Ki will be consumed after blocking. I personally recommend staying at a B grade which is around 150+ toughness. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Things that are unnecessary until New Game + and beyond - Build Creation: Since you lack the skills, abilities, armour and everything else you need to make a successful build with just leave it until your on new game +. - Soul Matching: Soul matching allows you to combine + rated gear together. It's unlikely you'll mess with this mechanic on your first playthrough but it's very costly to perform, therefore I strongly recommend waiting until new game +. Essentially the way soul matching works is you take a maximum familiarity item that is say level 100 (+1 )and you combine it with another level 100 (+1) and the new item will become level 100 (+2), so slightly stronger. - Blacksmith (Upgrades): When I refer to upgrades from the Blacksmith, I'm referring to weapons that can be forged or purchased that offer a slight damage increase to your existing arsenal at the cost of gold. Certain weapons have familiarity attached to them, therefore the more you use it the more powerful it becomes, this can be augmented by using Whetstones or Glue that grant 150 familiarity to your gear and equipment. You're more likely to find better weapons and armour by simply playing through the next side/main mission, so save your gold! - Revenants: Revenants can be summoned for PVP essentially, upon defeat a Revenant may drop pieces of gear they're using which quite frankly I wouldn't worry about until new game +. I've put over 40 hours into Nioh 2 and I've killed a handful of revenants and the reward wasn't worth the effort. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ I think I've covered as much as I can physically remember, yes there are other systems I haven't discussed such as prestige points, tempering and a few others but honestly the benefit from a first playthrough is negligible until you start creating a build. To conclude this article I've taken the liberty of recording some of my boss runs on my initial playthrough that went well. Yes the game will frustrate you at times, death or failure is expected even more so than soul games, the reward when you overcome the challenges presented to you is a great feeling. I personally don't agree with the 5/10 difficulty rating slapped on the trophy guide because this is not an average game, it is far more skill-based for a 5. I predominantly played in Mid-stance for I'd say 90% of my current playtime which has served me well. I wield a Katana so my range isn't the best compared to say an Odachi or a Spear but I have fun with it. As far as bosses go that pissed me off, the crown has to go to the stupid mage with 2 health bars, he can summon several clones and it became a clusterfuck of cheapness! The snake boss was a big skill check as well, I died to that shit 12 times but I was level 25 when I beat him. First playthrough highlights Yatsu No Kami (Level 25) Ryomen Sukuna Sword Master (Dojo) Hopefully this post helps someone out with the game, it took me several hours to write it, my fingers are aching now! Catch you guys in the next one! Edited February 16 by LancashireLad87
Copanele
6 hours ago, LancashireLad87 said: Nioh 2 Beginners Guide Tips & Tricks A good beginner guide right there! I just finished with Nioh 1 (minus a Twilight mission that I wait for spawning), so what I would strongly add as an advice for new players is the jutsu called Quick-change. For roughly 1:30 - 2 minutes, if you receive a physical attack that would normally kill you, you instead respawn above the enemy with 1/3 of your HP, allowing you to do a plunging attack. It's a sort of "get out of jail for free" card that can save your bacon in a pinch. That ONLY applies to physical attacks so if you die from a status effect like fire...yeah that one doesn't work anymore. Still, nice to have, for some nasty encounters. Also I will confirm that in NG+ onwards you should actually prioritize hunting down revenants for the weapon that I am using, since they could drop an actually good piece of equipment e.g. if you use a sword and you see a sword wielding revenant in NG+, chances are he's wearing a Kingo armour. But yeah in regular NG it's not worth beating the revenants, everyone wears whatever piece of cardboard they could find 😂 And finally, one aspect that I found interesting is that every weapon has an "innate" hidden bonus. Sword has some skills/buffs that prioritize damage from behind. Spear has the mad range, the mid stance strong triangle poke. Tonfa and fists focus on breaking the enemy's ki. Around the mid game it's best to discover what your weapon is best at. Nioh 2 has a ton of options, at least compared to Nioh 1. I should give this game a second go with a different weapon. I played Nioh 2 with a sword as well and oh boy I did not like it at all. I'll definitely try either the spear or the fists on my PS5 playthrough. The diversity and options is what makes this game truly great. I still enjoyed Nioh 1 more tho
Popular Post LancashireLad87
Quote "Disclaimer: The information contained within this post is from my personal experience. At the time of writing I've sank around 90 hours into Nioh 2. It took me 43 hours to clear my initial playthrough therefore I've spent enough time on new game + and ++ to provide you with my personal tips and strategies. Granted they may not be the most efficient methods available but they worked for me." @Copanele @FreshFromThaDeli @Yuber6969 @Thedah @DeepEyes7 @Groudon9000 @Gommes_ @Spookyentertainm @SoliDeoGloriaIHS Nioh 2: New Game + and Beyond If your new to Nioh 2, hopefully you've read through and understood the information contained within the beginners guide above before you dive into new game + and beyond. By this point you should have bested Otakemaru granting you access to new game +. Congratulations on beating the game for the first time, the final boss was fantastic, and the rest of the playthrough wasn't bad either! Nioh 2 handles new game cycles differently to the soul series, generally enemies will have more health and deal more damage but Nioh 2 tweaks the formula beyond this. Enemies and bosses have additional moves, as well as changing which attacks are burst-counterable. One of the reasons why Nioh 2 is more difficult to complete is the fact that it's very difficult to over-level the competition, every mission in the game has a grave system and a recommended level to enter. For the vast majority of missions I was below the recommended level for a very long time. After spending nearly 50 hours going through the post-game, I've listed what I believe to be the best steps to take moving forward to ease you into the harder difficulties, so without further ado, lets begin! New Game + Upon defeating Otakemaru, he'll drop "green gear" more commonly referred to as divine gear. Nioh 2 uses colour coordinated gear to represent its rarity ranging from common, uncommon, rare, exotic, divine, and ethereal. The latter you won't have access to until you defeat Otakemaru on Dream of the Demon difficulty (New Game ++). Divine gear will have significantly better status effects and they can be soul matched to make them even stronger. Once you defeat Otakemaru, immediately collect all of the loot, leave no green gear uncollected! and replace any of your existing weapons you're familiar with, with divine. You'll see a substantial increase in your damage output. If you're like me you should have a fair chunk of gold saved up, now is the time to start spending. Head to the blacksmith because it's time to utilise some new mechanics you may/may not have used which I'll go into more detail below; - Tempering: Tempering allows you to change effects on your weapons, equipment and accessories. You'll need to have umbracite of varying qualities to change the stat in question which you can acquire through disassembling gear and equipment to playing "Twilight missions" and playing through the game on new game +. Please bear in mind you're unable to change "inheritable effects" which are symbolised by an icon. - Remodelling: Remodelling essentially changes the stat scaling of your gear and makes it more specialised to your build. I wouldn't worry too much about remodelling until you hit Dream of the Demon difficulty which in my opinion is where you MUST have a build otherwise you will be destroyed. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Personal Advice Dream of the Strong difficulty isn't that much of a step up in difficulty from Dream of the Samurai however there are certain steps that I took during this playthrough which was very successful which I've gone into greater detail below. Your equipment and gear are equally important in Nioh 2 so don't neglect one for the other. Regrettably there isn't much in terms of power-levelling you can do outside of a particular mission within the Dawn region called the Refined man of the Underworld which tasks you with defeating some regular enemies before facing off against Mezuki and Gozuki. It will be difficult to clear due to your level and gear but as you soul match your divine gear you'll have a much easier time grinding amrita. - Upon defeating Otakemaru, once you've replaced your existing armour and gear which is sadly obsolete from this point forward. I headed into the first main mission "The Village of Cursed Blossoms" on Dream of the Strong difficulty. My goal was simple, to revenant farm for divine gear for a while so I can soul match it at the blacksmith to make it stronger, if you feel you need a helping hand summon a benevolent grave to assist you. As far as revenant farming is concerned I personally switched to the Kusari-gama in high stance using a few key moves which I'll name when I get back on the game. Essentially what I did was summoned a revenant that had divine gear, evaded the initial de-buff then used a get over here attack to drag the revenant towards me, swept his legs which caused a knockdown state. Ran behind him for a critical blow, and unleashed a flurry of light attacks as he was getting up. - Once you have at least +5 divine gear for your chosen weapons and equipment, I personally recommend completing the first main mission and then tackle side missions to gain enough mission completion to unlock Afterglow. Once you have the afterglow region unlocked, its time to kick some demon arse whilst collecting higher level gear. My goal was simple, defeat Otakemaru on new game + because upon defeat he has a guaranteed drop that I desired, a divine Yasakani Magatama, an accessory with a powerful ability which reduces the set bonus requirements by 1. In a nutshell, divine gear will generally belong to a specific set such as the "Iga Set". If you equip multiple pieces of the same set, you'll gain access to more passive abilities to complement your build. By equipping a Yaskani Magatama, you can gain the next tier of bonuses with less pieces equipped. For instance if you have 2 pieces equipped and a YM you'll gain the 3 piece set bonus for that armour instead of the 2 piece bonus. This allows you to mix and match from different armour sets to make you more powerful. - I personally think you should have an idea of what playstyle you want to adopt for new game + and beyond during this playthrough because if you come into new game ++ unprepared you will instantly regret it. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dream of the Demon (New game ++) Dream of the demon difficulty is a huge difficulty spike compared to Dream of the Strong. During this playthrough you'll encounter "Cursed enemies" you'll know if their cursed or not because their entire body glows red. Not only will they have increased damage output and defence but they possess buffs as well until they get grappled or receive a final blow (critical strike). On the flip side they drop very good loot, so they personify the expression high risk, high reward. Dream of the Demon is where you really need to have your shit figured out as far as a build is concerned because you're not getting through this difficulty without one. Enemies and bosses have an insane amount of Ki that is very difficult to deplete therefore the most important aspect of your build should be "Ki Damage". Naturally the more Ki damage you inflict the better. From my experience DOTD required me to utilise more mechanics to be successful such as incorporating Yokai abilities into my playstyle. Fundamentally regardless of your playstyle you MUST ensure that you have the ability to induce "confusion". Confusion occurs when you successfully inflict 2 status effects on your opponent such as "Lightning and Fire". Whilst confused enemies are far more easier to take care of. You'll want to make the most out of your build to squeeze every ounce of strength you can muster through guardian spirits, soul core fusion, special effects, set bonuses, what clan your in, everything! Even the lesser Yokai are a threat in DOTD therefore it's in your best interest to farm proficiency on Dream of the Samurai, I recommend playing the "High Spirited Demon" Main mission. Play through the level until you reach the final boss, there's a shrine right outside the boss fight. Strike his hands with whatever weapon you desire, but don't kill the boss, that's very important! Once he's low on health either let him kill you and repeat the process until you've acquired enough proficiency to fight the dojo master or use a Travel amulet to return to the last shrine you rested at. Respec your character as often as you need to using a book of reincarnation, I find it useful to write notes of your key stats and attributes such as your toughness, weapon damage and the minimum stats you need to use your guardian spirits and wear your preferred armour. You will undoubtedly need to grind amrita if you want to stand a chance against Otakemaru in this difficulty. As a ballpark figure you should be aiming for at least level 300 before you take him on with at least +15 Divine gear across the board, minus your accessories of course. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hopefully you found this article/post useful on your journey through the post game. I hope I've covered everything that I needed to, as I'm writing the majority of this on the fly. Before I wrap this post up, I'd like to take this opportunity to show you a clip taken from the first main mission on Dream of the Wise difficulty (new game +++) against Mezuki so you can see how my proficiency with the game has progressed since my beginners guide. I made some mistakes, sure but overall I think it went well. Edited February 25 by LancashireLad87
Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Gommes_ @Copanele @FreshFromThaDeli @KindaSabbath @Shrooba @DeepEyes7 @Yuber6969 @Thedah @ihadalifeb4this @KenjiCBZ After playing Nioh 2 exclusively for the best part of a month, it was time for a well deserved break. So I decided to pick up a physical copy of Wipeout Omega Collection on the PlayStation 4. I really enjoyed playing through Wipeout HD and its Fury expansion over 3 years ago, the aussie lad has been on my case for the last few years telling me to play the omega collection since my Wipeout HD progress is an honouree platinum since I lack the online requirements. I really enjoy Wipeout because you can visually see the improvement as you play, and it's for the most part a skill based game which I really appreciate. The RNG events unfortunately the lad cannot get behind, I'm looking at you Subway 200 point combat event in 2 minutes which was bullshit. In fact it took me longer to elite pass that event than both Beat Zico's combined! I'm 37 in a few weeks and I wanted to play this game before I'm too old to do it, I'm by no means an expert at the Wipeout series, I'd consider myself trophy competent for the most part. I've taken the liberty of recording my Zico runs, and to my surprise I managed to get the HD done in 24 laps or 12 attempts, not bad for an old man! The platinum is far from guaranteed at this point as there are a few trophies that are a thorn in my side. Hopefully I can get through them, earning my one of the rarest platinum trophies on my account to date, as the platinum is currently sitting at 1.16% which shows how challenging this game is. The zone events on the 2048/49 and 50 campaign are ridiculous.
Gommes_
Congrats on the Zico times! And yes, you are right the zone events are brutal. Hardest part of the game imo but you got this.

The lad has all but secured his next platinum trophy Wipeout Omega Collection on the PlayStation 4. Technically I still need someone to boost the 3 online trophies with at the time of writing. I've purposely left a simple bronze trophy unearned which is for winning a race with pilot assist which will literally take me 2 minutes to do. My playtime at the time of posting is just over 29 hours, the current PSNP trophy guide estimates a 35 hour platinum journey and an 8/10 difficulty. Usually when I look at trophy guides, I will look through the guides comments to see what people are saying and I was baffled at some of them thinking this games platinum is between a 6-7/10, pure egotism if you ask me. I'm no slouch at Wipeout and I wouldn't give it anything lower than an 8. I managed to get top 100 on a track so that means I'm not shit lol. The hardest things to do in the game are by far the zone modes on the 2048 campaign because you have to endure into the high 60s to mid 70s which is not easy. I switched between the AG Systems ship with 100 Handling and the Qirex Prototype with 100 shield for tracks that I crashed into the wall too much on such as Rockway Stadium and Altima. As normal I've taken the liberty of recording a few videos from my experience with the game. One is recorded from the final HD tournament on Phantom speed when I had some bad RNG and managed to claw my way from 8th to 1st in a single lap thanks to some luck. The others are zone modes that I thought were the hardest to get through. Coincidentally I've just hit a personal milestone for my account, just hit 250 ultra rare trophies, not too shabby! Hopefully you enjoyed reading through this short update and I'll catch you guys in the next one! Edited March 7 by LancashireLad87

I was surprised I managed to get through the game as quickly as I did. I played Wipeout HD over 3 years ago and there was definitely some rust that I had to shake off but once you get back into the swing of things it wasn't too hard, outside of the zone events. Although I did listen to music to "zone out" whilst playing the harder events to keep me focussed and I sat close to the TV which didn't help my eyesight but it got the job done! Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @Gommes_ @Thedah @Yuber6969 @FreshFromThaDeli @DeepEyes7 Breaking News!!! The lad from Lancashire has finally secured his next platinum trophy Nioh 2 on the PlayStation 4. At the time of writing I've purposely left a single bronze trophy from the 100% which is for ringing all of the bells within the Ruins Draw Near main mission. What a rollercoaster of emotions with this game and its DLC expansions. The collectibles i.e. Kodamas were very well hidden, even with Kodama sense on one of my accessories, I still had to watch a few videos on YouTube to find them all (150) total within the base game alone. Regrettably there's no trophy guide for the final DLC entitled "The First Samurai" on PSNProfiles at the time of writing. However, if you plan on playing through this 100% solo, like I did. Let me tell you, good luck on Dream of the Demon difficulty on the all comers side mission because that shit is no joke. Expect to be around level 500 with +190 gear at +50 across the board with full ethereal gear, even then you'll still struggle. As far as difficulty and time to 100% is concerned, the PSNP guides that are available including the first and second DLCs estimate 120 hours, however I believe if you add The First Samurai DLC you're looking at over 160 hours for an average player. As far as difficulty is concerned, if you play through everything on your own, I have to give the 100% an 8/10 based on my build. I didn't do any prior research on builds, I made my own organically. My build was very skill-dependent to use, regrettably I was unable to complete the set bonuses for my chosen grace which would have made it a bit easier. This is my first game that has 99% trophy completion which I think is quite rare to see. My playtime is around 143 hours solo, highly recommend the game to anyone who likes a challenge. Very happy to have this game wrapped up before my birthday, now I can chill for a few days before I start my next project! Big congrats! I really have to start this game too in the nearby future, after getting triggered (in the good sense) by Nioh 1 I so hope that I will love Nioh 2 a second time around...really didn't enjoy it the first time I played it. Although, the fault was purely mine, I refused to use anything except the katana and my build suffered because of that. 2 hours ago, LancashireLad87 said: Regrettably there's no trophy guide for the final DLC entitled "The First Samurai" on PSNProfiles at the time of writing. If I remember, the absolute worst mission in DLC 3 is the one where you have a gauntlet of enemies that ends up with a boss gauntlet, final one being 7 Gods of Yomi or something. I know that one was a nightmare and indeed without a solid build, solo play would be an absolute nightmare. Gotta pull out the sacred texts and see what fits before starting this game 😂 I would so go for fist weapons, but they're so finnicky..
Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @AK-1138 @FreshFromThaDeli @Yuber6969 @KindaSabbath @Thedah @DeepEyes7 @x410xDragon @Gotakibono@DrBloodmoney @Lord_of_Ra @Sergen @Groudon9000 @ihadalifeb4this Batman Arkham Knight: Road to 100% (Progress Report #1 Part 1) After experiencing the pain and frustration that was Batman Arkham Asylum over 3 years ago, I decided to take the plunge back into Gotham City with Batman Arkham Knight on the PlayStation 4. Over the last week I've been slowly chipping my way through the game and its immense 110 trophy list. At the time of posting I'm on 75/110 trophies. I struggled quite a lot on Asylum specifically the Extreme Shock & Awe AR challenge, I've never been an advocate for stealth gameplay so I loathed the predator challenges in Asylum. Considering Batman Arkham Knight released in 2015, the games presentation is outstanding and holds up today. Watching the rain drip down the bat suit whilst taking a call from Alfred shows the attention to detail the developers Rocksteady put into the game. Batman's eyes reflect the fucking light from the communications he receives! Before I dived head first into Gotham, I did a fair bit of research on the game because there's so much content you have to get through if you want the 100% completion. The base game has some troublesome trophies which I've embedded below for your convenience. Having the Batmobile as a driveable vehicle adds another layer to not only the gameplay but the immersion. I don't care for the Tank battles they're cool at first but they slowly lose their appeal, the races on the other hand are fantastic. I particularly like the hot-laps, I'm always trying to find new ways to shave off time to earn an extra rival point. The amount of AR challenges is staggering, with the season pass you have access to 252 stars across 84 AR challenges. At launch, it would have been harder to reach 69 stars for the Absolution trophy but now it's a cakewalk. I'm currently on 57 stars at the time of posting, and I haven't touched a single predator event. I've captured a lot of footage from Arkham Knight however I'll try to keep the videos to a minimum unless it's necessary. First let's start off with some troublesome trophies within the base game that gave the lad some trouble. __________________________________________________________________________________ Brutality 101: (PSNP Rarity 7.28%/Sony Rarity 0.90%) Difficulty: Moderate) For those of you who've been living under a rock and have never experienced the Arkham games, allow me to enlighten you. Arkham Asylum had a skill-dependent trophy that required you to pull off all of Batman's moves in a single combo without whiffing an attack or taking damage. This has become a staple trophy for the series and Arkham Knight is no different. The original, required you to perform 9 moves whilst Arkham Knight requires 15. Yes you can exploit this trophy in a number of ways to make it easier to obtain but I wanted to do it legit. The exploits I refer to would be pausing after each move, using the gadgets first with 2 characters in broken combos and then perform an 8 move combo without breaking or taking damage, and of course share-play. I've seen a few share-play requests for this one, I'm 37 and I managed to get it done so there should be no excuses, I struggled with Asylum so if I can do it, you can to! The general consensus regarding Brutality 101 is to attempt it within the AR challenges specifically Gotham Knights. However an unorthodox method exists against the Joker before you lock him up which you can do in new game + when you have all your combat abilities. My advice for unlocking this trophy legitimately is to break the combo into 3 chunks of 5, learn and memorise each chunk and then put it all together. You have 30 moves to choose from, and you only need 15 so you have a lot of flexibility. How I got Brutality 101 Technically I've met the requirements for this trophy twice, the first was on Gotham Knights but I got hit shortly after unlocking the trophy, I re-watched the footage and I wasn't content with it, after all this has to go on YouTube there are STANDARDS! So I decided to re-attempt the trophy on the combat map Tower Defence because the 3 star requirement is very lenient on this one. Chunk 1: Strike, Counter, Stun, Aerial Attack, Destroy & Disarm (Special Takedown) Chunk 2: Quickfire Explosive gel, Quickfire REC gun, Quickfire Batarang, Ground Takedown, Special Takedown. Chunk 3: Quickfire Frost, Batclaw Slam, Weapon Attack, Triple Stun, Beatdown. __________________________________________________________________________________ Point of Impact: (PSNP Rarity 8.81%/Sony Rarity 1.00%) Difficulty: Moderate) Point of Impact was a tricky trophy to obtain because the lad sucks at Batmobile Combat. To unlock the trophy you have to shoot 5 light tanks in a row using the 60mm cannon, firing a single shot into each tank and without taking damage. Not only that but you have to be relatively quick at doing so otherwise a "perfect shot" will become a "critical shot" which won't count towards the trophy. The general consensus for this trophy is to play the One Man Army AR challenge, however it's possible to get it whilst playing through the campaign which I did. As far as advice goes there really isn't much I can give you on this one, outside of practice and don't get trigger happy! __________________________________________________________________________________ Run Through the Jungle: (PSNP Rarity 9.51%/Sony Rarity 1.20%) Difficulty: Moderate) Not going to lie I struggled more with this trophy than the other two combined. You have to glide under 3 main bridges in one continuous glide which is easier said than done because you need to keep enough momentum by going up and down whilst not taking Batman for a swim or accidentally landing on a building or lamp-post. This trophy simply boils down to practice and for me it was a challenge to get this one, I must have spent at least 30-45 minutes attempting it before I got it. The trophies are very delayed in this game by at least 30 seconds so don't quit the application after you do it thinking the trophy is glitched because I would not want to redo that again. __________________________________________________________________________________ After nearly 30 hours of effort the lad is slowly climbing up the ranks on my friend list. It's going to take me a while to catch up to @Ala-Arska and @AK-1138 but I'm a man on a mission! This is the end of part 1, I've decided to split them up into sections so its less cluttered. Hopefully you enjoyed reading through part 1, now I have to write part 2! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my current playtime at the time of writing is 29 hours 36 minutes. I really enjoy Batman Arkham Knight as a game because I enjoy games that I can visually see myself improving and are rewarding which this game has in spades. The combat is fast, fluid and responsive with a fair amount of depth and freedom of expression. One of my criticisms with the game is the camera which becomes a major problem when your combo multiplier is above 50. Well that and the randomness of combat, on a few occasions I've had a really good flow going and I already committed to striking an opponent who randomly picks a shield up before I strike him, ending my free-flow combo. At the time of writing I'm by no means proficient at the game, I'm not even trophy competent at this point but my tips and videos should at least help someone who's struggling with the game and its mechanics so without further ado let's begin! Combat Challenges If your going for the 100% completion like I am, you'll need to become very familiar with the games combat if you want any hope of earning the 100%. The community challenge pack DLC has some ridiculous trophy requirements which is why I strongly recommend you refrain from exploiting Brutality 101, think of it as a stepping stone to success. Naturally before attempting the AR challenges you'll want to upgrade Batman with his entire arsenal of gadgets and abilities otherwise it will hinder your progress and make this step more difficult than it needs to be. The Arkham series rewards precise button inputs not mashing, yes you can mash during beatdowns and on counter attacks but as a general rule of thumb you need to be precise and rhythmic in your approach. Critical strikes are invaluable for combat maps because each successive strike will net you a x3 multiplier making it very easy to reach 50 and beyond within a very short space of time. Provided you've unlocked all of Batman's upgrades, you can perform your special takedowns with only a x5 multiplier instead of x8 which you can get in 2 strikes. Depending on the challenge map in question, certain maps allow you to take control of 2 characters rather than 1 such as Gotham Knights giving you access to dual takedowns which is very useful against Brutes (Larger enemies), others may have environmental takedown opportunities which rewards 100 points then multiplied by whatever your multiplier is. Ground takedowns are difficult to incorporate into your combos because they require a long time to execute and leave you vulnerable throughout, from my limited experience I've discovered a guaranteed method of earning a ground takedown. Against the final enemy of each wave, provided the enemy isn't a brute, perform a triple cape stun to knock him down, wait for a split second and then commit to a grounded takedown. If you've watched the Tower Defence AR challenge I embedded on part 1 you'll see me utilise this at the very end. A grounded takedown is worth 75 points so if you have a relatively high combat multiplier and you successfully land this at the end of the wave it will allow you to reach 3 stars very easily. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Before we get into the videos for this section I'd like to take this opportunity to explain how AR challenges work and how they count towards the Absolution trophy. If a challenge has rival points available, and you complete it whatever stars you earn will count towards the 69 star trophy, conversely if there are no rival points, earning 3 stars will count towards the character/Batmobile instead. Rival points can be earned provided you beat the 3 star requirement which on certain maps specifically the Batmobile hot-laps is impossible to attain 20 points without knowing and executing advanced turbo drifting. There are DLC trophies that require you to earn 21 stars with every character. Thankfully combat and predator maps count towards the total so if your not proficient at one you can play the other. For the purpose of this post I'll only be explaining combat maps because I suck at stealth. The Scarecrow DLC missions are required for the 100% and they count towards the 69 star trophy so you can do them as well for some easy stars. I've only completed the first one but you have a LOT of leeway to work with. For the character specific trophies, I personally played through the following maps, Combo Master, Azrael's Atonement, Tower Defence, Newton's Cradle, Wild Cat and Teen Titan because the vast majority of these maps have infinite enemies or are easy to earn the 3 stars because they're requirement are on the lower side. Naturally each character you use has access to different skills and abilities therefore against certain enemies you'll have to rely on different techniques to overcome them. As long as you maintain a high combo multiplier performing critical strikes and you vault over enemies that have stun batons before attacking them you should be fine. Just watch out for the shield enemies, after successfully performing an aerial attack on a shielded opponent, another enemy can still pick that shield up so I strongly advise destroying it, removing it from the field. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here are a few highlight videos from the week as far as character specific gameplay is concerned. Enjoy! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hopefully this helped someone who's struggling with the combat, the final part of this week's progress will be regrading the Batmobile races, so stay tuned for that! Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @AK-1138 @FreshFromThaDeli @Yuber6969 @KindaSabbath @Thedah @DeepEyes7 @x410xDragon @Gotakibono @DrBloodmoney @Lord_of_Ra @Sergen @Groudon9000 @ihadalifeb4this Batman Arkham Knight: Road to 100% (Progress Report #1 Part 3) Within this section I'm going to be providing my personal tips and tricks for anyone who's having problems with the Batmobile races. There are several DLC trophies that require you to earn a set number of stars using the Batmobile. You can play through the races, combat or hybrid events towards the 21/33 stars for each skin, however since I suck at Batmobile combat, and the hybrid events are a mix of the two, I'll be showcasing the races that I've played. The hot-laps are without question the most efficient way of earning 3 stars for each respective trophy, however you need to be competent enough to get 3 stars. Drifting around corners will briefly stop the clock, as will destroying any Green time clocks on the track. However there is an advanced method of turbo drifting that exists that is ESSENTIAL for earning 20 rival points on the hot-laps, regrettably at the time of posting I don't understand how this mechanic works but fear not, I destroyed the lap times without it. For each hot-lap I'll try and give you some tips and tricks on how to shave off time. I'm by no means a professional Batmobile driver but I do have 2 hot-laps within the top 1000 on the leaderboards so your in safe hands! Hot-lap 1: Mental Blocked (3 Star Time 42 seconds/My Time 35.86) Mental Blocked was the first hot-lap I attempted. I had bested the Riddler's challenge within the campaign which is the same map so I was confident I could 3 star the event. Surprisingly there's a lot of room for mistakes on this track. My run wasn't perfect by any means I could probably shave off maybe another second or two but that would be my limit without knowing advanced mechanics. To smash the time you need to be constantly boosting through the track whilst activating/deactivating Riddler's blockades. Around 16 seconds into the video below, you'll be forced to take a left hand turn that leads into a series of ramps you can activate whilst driving. Provided you have enough speed you can skip the 3rd platform entirely, which sets you up nicely for the next turn and saves you air-time in the process. The rest of the course isn't too bad. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 2: Penguin Dockyard (3 Star Time 45 seconds/My Time 30.91) This track is deceptively hard to get a fast time on, going from ship to ship is the fastest method but it's also the most challenging due to the clock placements. it's very easy to fall off the edge or over-shoot your jumps which results in a lot of failed attempts. At 11 seconds in the video below, I purposely line up between the 2 clocks so I smash through BOTH of them rather than just 1. By the way the final clock which moves from left to right after the final jump was the bane of my life! _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 3: Cobblepot Causeway (3 Star Time 1 Minute 10 seconds/My Time 55.69) First and foremost, I really enjoy racing on this track! There's a lot of room for error on this one, my run wasn't flawless by any means and I was well within the 70 second timer. Other than boosting as much as possible, drifting around corners and avoiding the obstacles, there's not much advice I can give you on this one. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 4: Ashes (3 Star Time 1 Minute/My Time 49.74) Not much to say for this one, at 26 seconds in the video below, it's faster to go right provided you have enough momentum to make the large jump off the ramp. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 5: Joker's Parade (3 Star Time 1 Minute 30 Seconds/My Time 1.13.64) Not much to say for this one either I'm afraid. Watch out for the spinning fans and of course the ice section which I fell off multiple times. Providing you boost as much as possible and you maintain a solid driving line you should have no problem 3 starring this event. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 6: Batcave Set (3 Star Time 1 Minute/My Time 48.28) Upon landing after the first ramp, if you want a faster time on the leaderboard you have to line up your Batmobile so you hit 2 clocks instead of one. I made a mistake on this because I hit a civilian which cost me a second at 7 seconds in the video. It's very difficult to avoid him before the sharp right hander. The developers put a clock on the far inside of this corner which was the bane of my life to hit. At 29 seconds in the video you have a choice you can continue to follow the track or you can take a right hander through a tunnel. I found it was quicker to just follow the track because there are 3 clocks on route which can save you a lot of time whilst the tunnel has 3 sets of civilians you have to activate and deactivate without crashing into. Before the last turn they purposely placed another moving clock which was a bitch to hit. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 7: Cataclysm (3 Star Time 1 Minute 10 Seconds/My Time 1.02.96) Not much to say about this one either. At 24 seconds in the video, after taking a small ramp if you decelerate you can turn into the inside of the corner saving you a bit of time. The narrow corridor section at 41 seconds is tight to get through, more often than not, no matter how careful you think you are, your bound to hit the wall at some stage. Thankfully once you get past that the rest is straightforward. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 8: Condamned (3 Star Time 1 Minute/My Time 48.49) First of all, this is the only hot-lap/track that you cannot control the obstacles for. Riddler is controlling them which makes this challenge harder than the ones that proceeded it. The pair of gates at the start are tricky to get through unscathed, you have to break for the first gate, then boost through gate 2, if your quick enough you can avoid the spinning blades after it, like I did. Do your best to avoid all the obstacles leading up to the long left hander. I made some mistakes on this track and I was well within the 3 star time, so don't worry if you hit an obstacle, just don't make a habit of it or you'll be forced to retry. The final straight before the finish line was the bane of my life to get through, I did beat this challenge 8 times so it got a bit easier but man, that part messed up a lot of good runs! _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hot-lap 9: Crushonator (3 Star Time 1 Minute/My Time 47.66) Where do I begin with this one. First off props to @AK-1138 for setting a very solid time on this one. I had some trouble besting your time here. This challenge is all about drifting around the obstacles as you approach them, boosting as much as possible and not getting hit. Good luck, you're going to need it, trust me! _______________________________________________________________________________________ 3 Star Event: Cobblepot's Causeway (3 Star Time 3 Minutes 10 Seconds/My Time 2.46.03) At the time of posting, this is the ONLY 3 lap event I've attempted. I know NickAR had some trouble with this one but once you get through the tunnel section its really not that bad. I was trying to get a fast time so it took me around 20 minutes to get this one done with 20 sweaty rival points in the bag! What can I say, the lad isn't content being anything but 1st place on my friend list for the races ^^ What makes the 3 lap events unique is the laps get progressively more difficult to complete. I could have beat this time but I was nervous on lap 3 where you have to take the far left obstacle path whilst the ice is cracking around you so I took my time through there. I love this track though! As far as advice is concerned, as long as you put everything you've learned thus far into practice there really isn't anything I can help with other than practice! Also @AK-1138 another solid time on this one! _______________________________________________________________________________________ Regrettably, I don't have anymore footage for the races at the time of posting but I'm certain you'll have plenty of room to get the final 3 stars for the 33 star trophies for the 1989/1960 and the 2008 Tumbler. Hopefully this helped someone out, my fingers are aching like fuck now, catch you guys in the next one! Copanele
Dear lord that's some text! Nice work there that's a lot of combat and a LOT of racing covered there. Arkham Knight really outdid itself with the content there! I will have a special request (I bet you planned that anyway) : special section for the Community Challenge Pack. That's the most fun part after all 😆
