LancashireLad87
@Infected Elite @KindaSabbath @Gommes_ @Thedah @FreshFromThaDeli @Yuber6969 @Copanele @Groudon9000 Breaking News!!! Yesterday evening the lad of Lancashire all but secured his 96th platinum trophy, Maneater on the PlayStation 4. I've wanted to play this game for a while because it looked fun to play, and I like sharks so it was a perfect fit for me. I picked up a new copy off Ebay UK for 16 quid which included a code for the Truth Quest DLC called the Apex Edition. After skimming through the PSNP trophy guide to check for any miss-able trophies I launched the game up and began my Man-eating journey as a baby shark. The premise of the game is very simple, avenge your mother by killing "Scaly Pete" the games antagonist. Each region you visit will have you perform more or less the same tasks such as, consume x amount of fish/humans, kill the apex predator of the region and search for various landmarks/collectibles along the way whilst progressing the games narrative. The gameplay can get a little repetitive at times but for what it's worth I enjoyed the game, regrettably you're unable to remap the controls, you have to press R2 to bite which would have been less taxing on my hands if it was remapped. The Truth DLC added time trials, and an absolute monster of a final boss which for a while kicked my arse. The time trials were a welcome change of pace, it was fun trying to swim through a bunch of sonic rings whilst using a modified shark. Everything you do within the game whether your killing humans, fish or finding collectibles your rewarded with mutagens and minerals which are used to upgrade your shark's performance. You can unlock various heads, fins and other pieces of a shark's anatomy by fulfilling certain requirements. There are 13 time trials in total, and they're quite challenging especially the ones where you have to perform multiple breaches over bridges, if you miss one you might as well restart! After completing all the time trials in my personal opinion I believe the hardest time trial is for Deep Float, as always I've taken the liberty of recording my run so you can watch it for yourself, it's not perfect but it got the job done! The final battle of the DLC pits you against M.O.L.O.C.H, a genetically modified Pliosaur. This fight was not easy by any means, this thing is at least 2.5 times the size of a level 40 mega shark and it hits like a freight train. You'd think it would be easy to out-swim but you'd be wrong! I tried several different builds and non of them worked until I tried the following combination; Head: Bone (Tier 5), Body: Atomic (Tier 5), Teeth: Shadow (Tier 5), Tail: Bone (Tier 5), Fins: Bone (Tier 5). As for organs I used; Hearty (Tier 5), Reinforced Cartilage (Tier 5), Disorientating Sonar (Tier 5), and Healing factor (Tier 5). I've purposely left 2 trophies away from the platinum trophy so I can save it for next years platinum difficulty challenge. All I have to do is to defeat some humans and I'll be immediately thrown into a duel against the Infamy level 10 boss which will net me both trophies once he's down for the count. The PSNP trophy guide rates the game's difficulty as a 2/10 and a 12 hour platinum journey whilst the DLC trophy guide adds an additional 5 hours and up's the difficulty to a 3/10. According to my save data I've spent just shy of 18 hours on Maneater so I'm actually slower than the estimated time, I feel so dirty lol Personally I think the 100% is between 3-4/10 because of the time trials and unless you look it up, M.O.L.O.C.H is a pain in the arse to beat. I'm happy to add this platinum to my collection and I'll catch you guys in the next one! Edited September 30, 2023 by LancashireLad87
Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @FreshFromThaDeli @Yuber6969 @Thedah @Infected Elite @Groudon9000 @DeepEyes7 @Gommes_ Breaking News!!! The lad from Lancashire has all but secured his 97th platinum trophy Infamous First Light on the PlayStation 4. It's been well overdue since I dipped my toes back into the series. I thoroughly enjoyed playing Infamous Second Son so I was eager to give this game a try, and I'm pleased to announce it didn't disappoint! As usual I skimmed through the PSNP trophy guide in case anything was miss-able, and commenced my journey through the streets of Seattle. Since there were no difficulty related trophies I played through the game on easy whilst collecting various collectibles along the way. The main story wasn't as long as I thought it would be, I didn't encounter any problems with the game as far as glitches are concerned, and the only difficult aspect of the platinum trophy is the arena challenges. The challenges are split into two categories Survival, and Rescue, you're required to score at least 500,000 points on all 5 arenas. You build up a score multiplier by killing enemies which will degrade over time if you don't kill anything, and you can collect various power-ups by shooting down a flying drone. Power-ups can vary from invulnerability to doubling your multiplier for a short period of time. I had a much harder time completing the rescue arenas because you have to immediately stop whatever your doing to save hostages scattered around the map, if you fail to save 5 hostages your run will come to an end. I've purposely left a single trophy unearned so I can unlock the platinum trophy for next years platinum difficulty challenge. As far as difficulty is concerned both PSNP trophy guides rate the difficulty a 4/10 which I agree with whilst the time estimates for each guide is 10 and 20 hours respectively at the time of posting. According to my Exophase account, I've only just scraped the sub 10 hour mark. Regardless I'm happy to add this platinum to my existing collection, I'm definitely going to take a few days rest from trophy hunting before I attempt my next project which will be far more challenging, and time consuming than my recent endeavours. So for the moment it's back to Minecraft for the Lad, assuming I can prevent my niece from taking the helm and destroying my world haha
Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @Thedah @Yuber6969 @Groudon9000 @Infected Elite @FreshFromThaDeli @KindaSabbath @Gotakibono Progress Report: The Evil Within (Week 1) (Trophies Earned: 21/42) After watching various trophy YouTuber's play bits and pieces of The Evil Within including Nate from the PlatChums, I decided it was time to take the plunge into this twisted, chilling and tormented universe. It’s been a while since I’ve played a game of this magnitude on my account. The vast majority of trophy guides rate the platinum difficulty between the 8-9/10 range because you have to beat the infamous Akumu difficulty which I have yet to experience at the time of writing. Last weekend, I decided to boot the game up to see what all the hype was about. After completing my first run on Survivor difficulty I can wholeheartedly say that this game is one of the best survival horror experiences I’ve ever played. Aesthetically the game holds up well considering it was released back in 2014 but where The Evil Within shines is through it’s enemy design, and the foreboding atmosphere that sends shivers down your spine on your initial playthrough, which I haven’t felt in a game since the original Dead Space. The Evil Within requires you to think about each combat scenario as a man-made puzzle, there are different ways you can approach it, some better than others but with careful planning, awareness and some good RNG you can overcome any obstacle the game throws at you. Starting the game on Survivor difficulty without upgrading any of Sébastien's abilities was definitely no walk in the park. Not only did I have to learn and adapt to the game's combat but I had to collect a ton of collectibles which were annoying to say the least. If you don’t reach the next checkpoint you have to recollect them which was a pain in the arse. I took my time with this playthrough so I could hone my skills which I’m sure will aid me well in the weeks to come. From a combat perspective there’s no greater feeling of executing your plan to perfection, setting a downed enemy ablaze with a match whilst killing his friends in the process is surprisingly therapeutic and satisfying to pull off. I’ve taken the liberty of recording some of the hardest encounters of this playthrough so you can see how I approached them, unfortunately I didn’t capture the infamous Chapter 6 location which I’m sure will feature at a later date. Despite following a collectible walkthrough on YouTube I still managed to miss a handful of collectibles and a single locker key in Chapter 14 because the video I watched didn’t show it. After consulting a friend of mine who’s finished the game he advised me to clean up any miscellaneous trophies I didn’t get in my first playthrough on New Game + Casual difficulty whilst earning the speedrun trophy. You have to speed run the game in under 5 hours which will be a tall order for me since I hate speed run trophies with a passion and because it took me a long time to complete Survivor difficulty without upgrades. Hopefully before my second progress report I can wrap up my remaining trophies as well as the 5 hour speed run. Here’s a screenshot of how many times the lad took the L on my initial playthrough which is probably a lot longer than most folks but I’m getting old and I’m easily startled which is why I haven't played many horror games on my account! My favourite encounter in the game is without any shadow of a doubt the final boss battle which is just EPIC. Hopefully you enjoyed reading through this status update and I’ll catch you guys in the next one! FreshFromThaDeli
TEW1 has one of the best dlc's I played. Definitely worth playing and I know you will because it has trophies tied to it.
Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @FreshFromThaDeli @Yuber6969 @Groudon9000 @DeepEyes7 @Thedah @Infected Elite @Gotakibono Regrettably I didn't get as much done as I would have like to but the lad is full of a cold. Since my last progress report I've managed to speed run the game on New Game + in under 5 hours on Casual difficulty. Since my experience with the game is quite limited, I was very hesitant about starting the 5 hour speed run trophy because I get lost very easily. Being the old school gamer that I am, I decided to write my times down on paper to see if I’d be able to get through the game within the allotted time frame. Thankfully you’re allowed multiple save slots so I saved after each chapter, and I made a cheeky save just before the gauntlet section surrounded by watching eyes, and an abundance of blood. The first time I reached the final credits my playtime was 5 hours 1 minute and 49 seconds. I knew I could do better because I got spotted by the eyes a handful of times, so I reloaded and I was successful! My time was 4 hours 51 minutes but this was far from easy. Sebastian wasn’t fully upgraded and I tried to collect any green gel/ammo whenever possible. When I reached the final boss I only had 3 Sniper Rifle ammo and some RPG rounds remaining. I tried to get some miscellaneous trophies along the way that I missed on my first playthrough but I was forced to play a clean-up playthrough to unlock the rest. The best advice I can give you when attempting this trophy is to make saves after every chapter if you feel like you could have done better then it’s in your best interest to replay the chapter. If you have a lot of spare parts left from your first playthrough then I recommend crafting Explosive/Shock/Frost/Flash rounds whenever possible because they’re invaluable. You need to run past any encounters that aren’t mandatory and manage your resources wisely. As a frame of reference, I’ve listed my chapter clear times for your convenience so you can gage if you're on pace or not; Chapter Clear Times Chapter 1: 13.11 Chapter 2: 32.55 Chapter 3: 38.35 Chapter 4: 51.00 Chapter 5: 1.22.00 Chapter 6: 1.59.00 Chapter 7: 2.22.00 Chapter 8: 2.29.00 Chapter 9: 2.48.00 Chapter 10: 3.17.00 Chapter 11: 3.46.00 Chapter 12: 3.56.00 Chapter 13: 4.08.00 Chapter 14: 4.24.00 Chapter 15: 4.51.00 Needless to say I was relieved to have made the par time because doing another playthrough was not an option. At this point, I had 8 trophies left to clean up, so I decided to mop them up in chapter select. For some reason I had difficulty earning the trophy “Not a Scratch on her” during Chapter 12, having failed it multiple times. During my first playthrough I managed to earn in my opinion one of the hardest miscellaneous trophies which requires you to stealth kill 5 enemies in a row, stealth is not my forte so I was happy to see this one pop. I tried to earn this trophy in Chapter 2 but I screwed it up due to being bad at the game. Here's a video of my successful run on Chapter 13. I'd like to take this opportunity to clarify how I earned the “Full House” trophy which requires you to kill 5 enemies with each agony bolt type. There are 5 types of ammunition in total which are as follows; Flash, Explosive, Shock, Harpoon, and Frost. The ideal location to get any crossbow kills that you're missing is at the end of Chapter 2 because there’s a large group of enemies. Flash: I originally blinded the enemies with a flash bolt and proceeded to stealth kill them but it doesn’t count towards the trophy you MUST shoot them whilst they're blinded for it to count. Explosive: Self explanatory Shock: Same process as the flash bolts, I preferred to kill them with the pistol because apparently it’s possible to destroy the bolt within them if you use the shotgun. Harpoon: Self explanatory Frost: Very easy to do, shoot a frost bolt at the crowd and mop them up with the shotgun! If you’re short on spare parts like I was, I replayed Chapter 3, disarming any trap along the way which honestly didn’t take too long. I decided to take a break from the base game so I chose to tackle the Executioner DLC.I really enjoyed playing through the DLC. It's very satisfying to grab a haunted and launch him into a set of spikes. There were a few trophies that were a pain in the arse to complete, the first was for completing all torment (18) in total, and completing the entire DLC without being hit. Without question the hardest trophy was for completing all 18 torments, the only one I struggled with was the last one. According to my save data it took me 5 hours and 40 minutes to clear the DLC. Hopefully I can clear the next DLC, “The Assignment” but we’ll see how I fare. Hopefully you enjoyed reading through this update, and I'll catch you guys in the next one! Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @DeepEyes7 @Gommes_ @FreshFromThaDeli @Thedah @Yuber6969 @Infected Elite Progress Report: The Evil Within (Week 3) Since my last progress report I’ve made progress on both the Assignment and Consequence DLC’s. At the time of writing I just need to complete KURAYAMI difficulty on both DLC’s to have them wrapped up. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of these DLC’s, the sequences where you have to reflect light with the flashlight is very janky, and I don’t like the fact that you cannot upgrade Kidman. Well that and the fact that you barely get to shoot shit in the DLC’s. Moving forward, I would like to complete 1 KURAYAMI difficulty during the week. Perhaps I can play AKUMU difficulty when I get bored of KURAYAMI. I’ll most likely watch a video guide online because as far as I’m aware KURAYAMI is pitch black, the only light source you have is from your flashlight. According to my Exophase account, I’ve poured 65 hours into The Evil Within so there’s no way I’m meeting the PSNP’s guide’s time estimate for the platinum trophy. My completion percentage is slowly rising each week but I’m a long way off reaching my PB. I’m hoping I can wrap this platinum trophy up by the end of November, then I can chill for a bit playing Minecraft, and return to Street Fighter 6 before I play my Xmas game with the Aussie lad. Hopefully you enjoyed reading through this short update and I’ll catch you guys in the next one! Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Gotakibono @Thedah @Yuber6969 @FreshFromThaDeli @Infected Elite @DeepEyes7 @Groudon9000 The Evil Within - AKUMU Difficulty (My Journey) Breaking News!!! The lad from Lancashire has all but secured his 98th platinum trophy, The Evil Within on the PlayStation 4. I’ve been interested in playing through The Evil Within for several months, after all it was a candidate for my 75th platinum trophy. I have watched several trophy hunters on YouTube share their pain and frustrations with this difficulty, so I was intrigued to try it out for myself. For those of you who are unaware of what AKUMU difficulty entails, allow me to enlighten you on why this difficulty isn’t for the faint-hearted. First and foremost AKUMU difficulty must be played on a fresh save file, ammo is scarce, and the biggest kicker is any damage you take no matter what it is, will instantly kill you. Fortunately the game is forgiving with its checkpoints. You’re allowed to upgrade Sebastian which is a blessing because without upgrades or checkpoints this game would have been a real nightmare to get through. The Evil Within consists of 15 chapters, well 14 really because the first chapter is merely an introduction to the game. Before I dive into some chapter specifics that caused me frustration, I would like to take this opportunity to outline some tips which may seem obvious but I’ll mention them anyway! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tips Try and conserve your ammo whenever possible, knowing when to fight and when to run might be the deciding factor of whether you fail or succeed in this difficulty. It’s in your best interest to collect as much green gel as possible so you can upgrade your stats accordingly to give you a fighting chance. Collect as many locker keys as possible, since they reward you with arguably the most precious resource in the game, ammo! As a frame of reference, I didn’t take any ammo from the lockers until the start of chapter 11. If you get frustrated at a section, take a break, relax and come back to it later. With a clear head you’re more likely to succeed. I rarely diffused any bombs for their spare parts, and on the odd occasion that I did, I froze the bomb with a frost bolt and then collected the spare parts. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ AKUMU Difficulty Granted at the time of posting, I haven’t unlocked the platinum trophy because I’m saving it for next year's platinum difficulty challenge held by @Rebourne07 . This won’t be a comprehensive guide on how I beat AKUMU difficulty, instead it will outline the strategies I used in order to get past the hardest sections of the game. In my personal opinion, I think the 3 hardest chapters in the game that will make or break your platinum are Chapters 11, 10, and 6. I would like to point out that I stockpiled my resources during the first 4 chapters of AKUMU difficulty. I’ll be providing how much gel I had at specific sections of the game, what I chose to upgrade and what locker rewards I was given, so without further ado, let’s get into it! Chapter 3 This chapter is a pain in the arse if you don’t know about a little trick you can do to vanquish all the enemies. It requires some set-up but it’s well worth the hassle. In order to vanquish every enemy in the area, you need to defeat The Sadist (chainsaw guy). To defeat him before he has a chance of attacking you, you’ll need to throw 2 hatchets/axes at him and shoot him with a full clip of your handgun. The first axe is located at the base of the stairs in a house to the left whilst the second axe is near the pig inside the barn. Although this isn’t included in my video, it needs mentioning; when you're at the top of the stairs, a torch wielding enemy will be walking towards you, it may take you a few tries to juke him but that’s what I did. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 4 During this chapter, after killing the big guy in the house, I returned to the mirror to upgrade a few things. I had 15,300 green gel before I opened any lockers and I used 6 locker keys which gave me the following; x2 green gel worth 10,000, 2 sets of frost bolts, explosive bolts, and shotgun ammo. I now had 25,300 green gel to spend, here’s what I upgraded. 15 Matches (2,800) Explosive Bolts (2,500) Agony Bolts (2,000) Shotgun Ammo (2,000) Handgun Ammo (1,000) Flash Bolts (6,500) Handgun accuracy (2,000) Sprint (3,000) For the most part this chapter wasn’t too difficult to clear, there was only one section I had problems with which I’ve embedded below for your convenience. The main reason why I upgraded my explosive bolts to level 2 is because the Ruvik Clone will survive the explosion if you don’t upgrade it. Chapter 5 The only real challenge here is when you have to babysit Joseph whilst Kidman is trapped inside a cage. But with the right strategy you can get past this section without too many problems. Having said that, this is the first big hurdle to overcome on your journey through AKUMU difficulty. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 6 This chapter is notorious for being a roadblock for most players because there's 2 sections back to back that you have to do flawlessly. I decided to upgrade Sebastian at the earliest possible moment in chapter 6 in preparation for this section. I had 27,400 green gel, and I used 3 locker keys. My locker rewards were as follows; 1 green gel, 1 syringe, and flash bolts. I upgraded Sebastian with the following; Sprint (15,000) Explosive bolts (4,500) Flash bolts (6,500) Shotgun Ammo (4,000) Handgun Reload Speed (1,500) Here is a video of the infamous sections that I speak of; I upgraded Sebastian again before facing off against the 2 giants NEUN & ZEHN. I had 12,000 green gel, and 3 locker keys. My locker rewards were as follows; x2 green gel and 2 additional keys which was lucky. I then opened 2 additional lockers and received a syringe, and shock bolts. Naturally I took this as an opportunity to upgrade Sebastian further; Rifle Damage (12,000) Agony Bolts (5,000) Shotgun Ammo (6,000) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 7 (Upgrades) I decided to upgrade Sebastian after inserting the first piece of the puzzle. I had 15,100 green gel, and I used 2 locker keys. My locker rewards were as follows; green gel, and Rifle ammo. I upgraded Sebastian with the following; Harpoon DMG (Level 1-4) Grenade Capacity (1,500) This wasn’t the only time I upgraded my attributes in this chapter because I upgraded Sebastian again after inserting the final piece of the puzzle. I had 11,600 green gel, and I used 2 locker keys. My locker rewards were as follows; green gel, and Rifle ammo. I chose to upgrade the following; Sniper DMG (18,000) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 9 (Opened lockers) At the start of chapter 9 I had a paltry 2,500 green gel, and 2 spare locker keys. My rewards were shotgun, and handgun ammo. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 10 At the start of chapter 10 I upgraded Sebastian, I had 11,000 green gel, and I used 5 locker keys. My locker key rewards were as follows; x4 green gel, and flash bolts. After using my locker keys and collecting the green gel from the lockers, I had 41,000 green gel to spend on upgrades, so here’s what I purchased. Rifle Ammo (10,500) Handgun Ammo (7,500) Handgun Crit % (13,500) Later in the chapter I upgraded Sebastian again, I had 17,400 green gel, and 2 locker keys. My locker rewards were as follows; explosive bolts, and green gel. For some reason or another, I had a lot of problems clearing this chapter. Specifically the rotating blade section, I must have spent well over an hour on this one, I apologise for the length of the recording but I honestly couldn’t get a clear shot of the sniper, and I rarely made it this far into the section, so I was playing very cautiously. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 11 After completing the horror which was chapter 10 I thought nothing could top that, I had reached the peak difficulty that AKUMU has to offer, boy was I wrong! This was single-handedly the hardest chapter in the game by some distance. But before I get into the specifics, I upgraded Sebastian at the start of the chapter, here’s what I upgraded; Magnum Ammo (17,500) Magnum DMG (38,000) The infamous sections that took me well over an hour and a half to get past were the gauntlet of enemies within the construction area and riding the platform whilst enemies try and shoot you left and right. The platform section was the bane of my life because I would always get hit by projectiles, to this day, I have no idea how I got past that section. Naturally I’ve recorded both sections for your convenience; At the end of chapter 11, I upgraded Sebastian once again. I had 32,350 green gel, and 2 locker keys. My locker key rewards were as follows; harpoons, and handgun ammo. I used my gel for a single upgrade; Handgun Crit % (20,000) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 12 The hardest section in this chapter is in-between the spider boss. You’re stranded on an open top bus whilst needing to survive long enough for a cutscene to trigger granting you a checkpoint whilst waves of enemies come at you from all angles. I’ve recorded my run for your convenience, however I cannot stress enough how important the explosive bolts were so make sure you have them, or you’ll find this section a nightmare! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 13 (Upgrades) I had 20,350 green gel, and 2 locker keys. My locker key rewards were as follows; handgun ammo, and green gel. Since I had 35,350 green gel I upgraded Sebastian with the following; Shock Bolts (29,000) Magnum Reload Speed (1 level) Magnum Fire Rate (1 level) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 15 (Upgrades) Here is the final set of upgrades I gave Sebastian; I had 31,150 green gel, and 7 locker keys. My locker key rewards were as follows; Rifle ammo, x4 green gel, frost bolts, and Magnum ammo. I now had a whopping 71,150 to spend on upgrades; Handgun DMG (20,500) Magnum Fire Rate (10,000) Magnum Accuracy (13,500) Magnum Reload Speed (8,000) Shotgun DMG (12,500) It’s important that you take as much as you can carry from the lockers because this will be the last time you can access the hospital! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I took my sweet time playing through this difficulty as my screenshot will show. However I’m delighted that I got through it. I have no idea how many deaths I had because I haven’t technically beaten the difficulty, I’m at the final save before the grand fight against Ruvik, but I don’t care if I died 1,000 times. Regarding the game's difficulty, the PSNP trophy guide rates the platinum difficulty a 9/10 and a 50 hour journey. In my honest opinion, I don’t think The Evil Within deserves a 9/10 because you have access to upgrades, checkpoints, and video references. Therefore I personally rate the difficulty a solid 8/10. It’s not my proudest achievement to date but it’s certainly in my top 10. Hopefully you enjoyed reading through this update, I still need to return to the DLC to finish off both Kurayami playthroughs but the lad is having a well deserved break. Rebourne07
Nice, doing your 10 beforehand and popping it in 2024. Great strategy. I'm doing that with a few of my games right now too, not my 10, but a few of the longer ones to speed up progress. Cool write up on The Evil Within, seems hard as heck lol

I'm aiming to do 2 lists again for the platinum challenge, so one list will be fresh and the other will be mostly wrapped up by the end of the year. Not sure if I'm counting it as my 10/10 though, I plan to release a community poll for the big 100th platinum but I need to return to Street Fighter 6 after I wrap up both Kurayami playthroughs, I guess I'll chill for a few days, and return to my Minecraft world.

Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @DeepEyes7 @Yuber6969 @Gommes_ @Infected Elite @Groudon9000 @FreshFromThaDeli Breaking News!!! The lad has all but secured another platinum, this time it’s Guilty Gear XRD Sign on the PlayStation 4. I’ve previous experience with the series having played and completed both Strive and Revelator. I was keen to dip my toes back into the series so I decided to play Sign a few weeks ago with a friend. The vast majority of the trophies were very straightforward, in my first session I had amassed 60% of the trophy list. Comparing the game to Revelator, Revelator has better online connectivity but the online grind is REAL. Whilst Sign has one of the worst single player grinds I’ve ever attempted. I’m referring to M.O.M mode specifically, there’s a trophy for collecting every skill and accessory within M.O.M which is 113 in total. I spent just shy of 29 hours playing M.O.M mode. Unfortunately the PSNP trophy guide doesn’t give any tips or advice on how to earn specific trophies, and would rather link a water-down guide from gamefaqs. I played exclusively as Sol Badguy and let me tell you, some of the M.O.M fights require a certain set of skills to overcome because every battle has an AI opponent with various buffs such as immunity, resistant to various attacks such as slash and physical, or they have extremely high chip damage and other effects. I played 799 separate matches within M.O.M mode before I completed it. The M.O.M mode this time around is WAY more annoying than Revelator because they have armoured mode by default when they’re down to their final health bar. When it comes to how I levelled my character these are my statistics and the accessories I used. Sol Badguy Health 6140 Attack 282 Character level: 121 Physical attribute: 19 Strength: 31 Technique: 20 Magic: 20 Spirit: 31 Skills I commonly used Potion (S/L) S Drive (Level 3) Rusty Metal (Poison) Maximum Fortissimo (Armour Break) Flaming Curtain (Armour Break) Poison Accessories I commonly used Swordsman’s Gauntlet (Level 3) Heat Gauntlets (Level 3) Warrior’s Breath (Level 3) Bracelet of Calling (Level 4) Lead Bracelet Thunderseal The Seventh Ring ___________________________________________________ For me personally the hardest M.O.M fight to overcome was against Potemkin on floor 202 because every time you knock this fucker down his defense rises, he already has extremely high defense anyway and it gets pretty ridiculous trying to defeat him within the time limit. If you fail to defeat them within the allotted time, even if you have a life lead you still LOSE. I’ve taken the liberty of recording my win against him, please bear in mind my poison skill at the time of recording was level 1 so my stats are very sub-optimal. Please take into account when you use a master key on a chest it’s not guaranteed to give you the item, in hindsight I strongly advise you to save scum any M.O.M encounter that has a skill or ability you can only get from fighting. As far as the online is concerned, most of the trophies are straight-forward however one glaring problem the trophy guide doesn’t tell you is the 3 player trophies are region locked! Yesterday evening me and a friend spent 2 hours trying to connect with someone in a 3-player lobby and no matter how we set it up we couldn’t find each other/join the room. Unfortunately the PSNP trophy guide doesn’t tell you that the 50 comments you need to make whilst spectating a player match you can spam the hell out of them. The most efficient method for the online trophies is to follow my video below; the combo I used was Triangle, Triangle, Crouching Circle into QCF+X then run, rinse and repeat. Can you beat this speed kill? In my opinion the hardest trophy in the game is probably earning S ranks in 30 separate missions. The time trial tutorial trophy is much stricter than Revelator because the timer counts down whilst the AI is explaining everything. I narrowly made the time limit on my 2nd attempt, my first run was around 10 seconds over. I’ve purposely left one trophy unearned which is for spending 1 hour in training mode, as far as difficulty is concerned I would rate the difficulty a 6/10 for me, it would have been a 5 but this platinum requires too much effort. Not sure how much time it’s taken the lad as my Exophase doesn’t show how much time I’ve spent, if I had to guess probably around 45-50 hours. Hopefully you enjoyed reading this update and I’ll catch you guys in the next one!
DeepEyes7
Congrats on sign plat, the MOM grind is real, did it last week and it gets boring pretty fast. For Potemkin fight I used poison mist that for me worked better than Calvados bomb, and since I got it several times doing all the runs (poison mist) the cooldown time was pretty fast, you just need to keep attacking him and even if he covers the poison will kill him pretty fast. And yeah, the PSNP guide about MOM mode is very poor.
Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @FreshFromThaDeli @Infected Elite @DeepEyes7 @Groudon9000 @Gommes_ @Yuber6969 @Thedah Breaking News!!! The lad from Lancashire has all but secured another platinum trophy, Split Second on the PlayStation 3. I've purposely left one remaining trophy away from the platinum for next years platinum difficulty challenge. I was looking through my PS3 backlog, and thought it was time I gave this game a go. Fortunately, I had someone to help me boost the online trophies which took around 6-8 hours to complete, so I could focus solely on the single player. There are a few semi-famous trophies in Split Second which requires you to defeat the developers times on 2 separate tracks, Construction and Power Plant. Every trophy guide I could find recommends 2 specific cars the Elite GT12, and the Ryback Firestorm. After trying both cars, I came to the conclusion that these cars are not the best for the job. The first beat the team on Construction, which I think is easier to complete I used the Corbretti 530 GTS. On my 2nd attempt I defeated the developer's best time of 1 minute 7 seconds, I managed 1.05.04, not too shabby! The second beat the team on Power Plant was a pain in the arse, I must have wasted at least 30-45 minutes trying to beat it with the recommended cars, and yet I couldn't surpass 1.18.39 (Target time under 1.18.00). So I tried the Hanzo FX350, and beat the time within a handful of attempts, my time was 1.17.31. The main single player campaign requires you to earn a gold medal on every event (72 in total). Events range from elimination, time trials, air strikes, and classic races. Races are by far the most annoying event because the AI is rubber-banded, no matter what car you drive they'll always be close to you. I had to restart a race at least 5 times because I got cheesed out of my victory. The time trials are strict, and don't leave much room for error. I had a lot of problems with the Convoy trophy which is rarely talked about so I must have been the only one who struggled on it. Basically you have a group of AI drivers on a track, with 18 wheelers roaming around the track dropping blue and red barrels as they go. Blue barrels slow you down and cause you to lose control, whilst red barrels blow you're arse up. The trophy requires you to overtake 12 trucks without crashing which sounds simple enough but it was far from it. The most unique aspect of Split Second is every trophy you earn within the game, a decal of the trophy image will be added to your vehicle as a badge of honour which I thought was cool. The PSNP trophy guide states a 25 hour platinum journey and a 7/10 difficulty. Unfortunately, I don't know how much time I've spent as there's no way of checking it, but if I had to guess probably around 25-30 hours. As far as difficulty is concerned I'd give it a 6/10 if you use the cars I mentioned. I'm happy to add this platinum to my existing collection, I have big plans for 2024 which might be a little too ambitious but I'll see how I get on throughout the year. Hopefully you enjoyed this update and I'll catch you guys in the next one! Edited December 20, 2023 by LancashireLad87

Breaking News!!! The lad has once again secured another platinum trophy Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Remastered on the PlayStation 4. I played straight on Veteran difficulty and I never looked back no matter what the game threw at me, because I'm a boomer and I'm very stubborn! I earned the infamous "Best of the Best" trophy after a mere 7 minutes of practice, not too shabby! There were some highlight moments on Veteran difficulty that had me raging my tits off because of how unfair the game is at times, particularly any timed based sections such as the 4 minute timer near the barn and the second to last level No Fighting in the War Room. The Ferris wheel was troublesome, particularly getting to Captain Macmillan, picking him up and then carrying his arse to the chopper. I wanted to experience Veteran difficulty as it was intended, and despite persevering through it, I never want to do that shit again. I have watched various trophy YouTuber's go for the platinum trophy which was one of the reasons I wanted to go for it, well that and I was curious how hard Best of the Best and the infamous Mile High Club are, since both of those trophies are quite famous within the trophy hunting community. I have read a lot of trophy guides including the PSNP guide which rates the platinum difficulty of COD4 Remastered around a 5/10 in difficulty. As I've previously mentioned I have legacy Timesplitters 2 skills from the PlayStation 2 era, holding a few European and World Records within the challenge mode. I had a lot of success on Behead the Undead challenge 1 back in the day. With that in mind, I've previously played through both Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal in recent memory to brush some of the dust off, and there's NO WAY that shit is a 5/10 unless you abuse the recruit glitch. I went through the entire game on Veteran and it didn't feel like a 5/10. Since I suffered on Veteran difficulty, I mopped up all of the miscellaneous trophies leaving a single bronze trophy unearned so I can pop the platinum at a later date. I made the decision of playing the infamous Mile High Club on Veteran difficulty since the lad isn't a pussy. To quote Captain Price, "We're going in deep and we're going in hard!". I've recorded my successful run below for your convenience. As far as difficulty is concerned, if you play 100% legit like I did, this is a solid 7/10 for me. An enjoyable yet frustrating platinum at times but rewarding when you succeed. At the time of writing my Exophase account hasn't updated but I'd estimate I've spent around 17-18 hours on the platinum trophy. Hopefully you enjoyed reading through this update and I'll catch you guys in the next one! Breaking News!!! The lad from Lancashire has all but secured another platinum trophy, Goat Simulator on the PlayStation 4. At the time of posting, i still need to clean-up a lot of DLC trophies but as far as the platinum is concerned, I've left a single collectible at the top of the crane uncollected so I can pop the platinum trophy at a later date. I've read some horror stories of people spending countless hours on the infamous "The Flapmaster" trophy, so I was very keen to see how long it would take a boomer to do it. I'm far from proficient at rhythmic tasks in gaming so I thought I would struggle on this one like a lot of players before me, however to my surprise it didn't take me as long as I thought it would. Don't get me wrong it's not easy to achieve, more infuriating than anything else since the hit detection on the ladders is very unforgiving. I've captured all my attempts for the trophy below for your convenience. As I tend to do with these famous trophies I tend to do a bit of research on forum posts across multiple websites and I came across a comment that triggered me. Basically this comment said to the degree of, "if this platinum took you longer than a few hours than you must have only one arm, and if you rate the difficulty more than a 1/10 then you suck at games, no offence". Well I guess I suck at games then because the platinum trophy took me around 3 hours 15 minutes and I personally would rate the difficulty a 3/10. I can see why a lot of players have spent a few hours on this trophy, fortunately I wasn't one of them. Hopefully you enjoyed reading through this update and I'll catch you guys in the next one! Popular Post LancashireLad87
@Copanele @Thedah @Gommes_ @FreshFromThaDeli @Groudon9000 @Yuber6969 @Infected Elite @ihadalifeb4this Breaking News!!! The lad from Lancashire has all but secured another platinum trophy Star Wars Episode 1 Racer on the PlayStation 4. This is a childhood game for me so I was eager to take a trip down memory lane and replay it. I'm aware that the game has various exploits that will help you get the platinum trophy in an hour but the lad isn't a pussy so I played through the game legitimately. The game hasn't aged very well but the soundtrack screams nostalgia and the sense of speed you get makes you feel like a podracer. There were a few tracks that took a handful of attempts to get round which I've recorded for your convenience. As far as difficulty is concerned I would rate the difficulty a solid 3/10 if you play legitimately. The platinum has taken me around 3.5-4 hours to achieve. I've purposely left a single bronze trophy unearned so I can go back and pop the platinum later in the year. I picked up the game on sale for 6 quid which you cannot fault. As far as which podracer to use is concerned, I played exclusively as Anakin Skywalker for half of the game then I switched to Bullseye Navior because his stats are well distributed. The only headache trophy is for purchasing all of the best upgrades for your racer. Its imperative that you ensure each race is set to winner takes all because you won't have enough in-game credits to purchase everything. Another important note is you can only win the credits ONCE therefore you should restart any race your not going to win otherwise you may shoot yourself in the foot by not having enough credits to purchase the best upgrades causing you to replay the entire game again. Only purchase upgrades from the Junkyard and not Watto because he's a rip off merchant. When it comes to upgrades, here is what I initially purchased from the junkyard and for how much. Make sure the first things you purchase are the 3 additional pit droids. Basically the way the game works is if you purchase an upgrade from the junkyard, its condition will be poor, however after winning a race it will be fully repaired by a single pit droid, so if you have 4 pit droids (maximum) you can repair 4 parts after a single victory. You can re-roll the junkyards offerings by changing your racer and going back into the junkyard. The lad from Lancashire has all but secured another platinum trophy Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on the PlayStation 4. I’ve purposely left a single trophy unearned which requires me to kill 1,000 enemies as Ayane, I’m around 33 kills short at the time of writing. Before I get into the specifics of how I approached this platinum trophy, I would like to outline a few key differences between this and the PlayStation 3 version. Key differences - Rachel can no longer access one of her best I-frame moves, i.e. the failed ET - The Godomus Troll can no longer be damaged by Rachels machine gun - Online co-op was removed therefore the team missions have been made substantially easier to complete, with a few exceptions which are as follows; Mentor 5, and Master Ninja 2. - Ninja races have been carried over from the PS Vita version which to this day remains impossible to platinum because nobody can beat all the team missions with the AI on normal speed let alone on turbo. - The PlayStation 4 version has less grind compared to the PlayStation 3 version, you only need to accumulate 1,000 kills for each character as opposed to the 12,000 kills you need on the PlayStation 3. - On the PlayStation 4 version it's mandatory to collect all 30 crystal skulls due to a trophy being tied to them. - The hardest difficulty (Master Ninja) felt easier due to the enemies being less aggressive. __________________________________________________________________________________________ My roadmap and personal challenge Before commencing back into the world of NGS2, I watched a video on YouTube by a famous Ninja Gaiden player, he showed his platinum time in the video which ended up being a respectable 55 hours. To put into context, how quick that is, most players will spend anywhere from 75-100 hours on this platinum trophy, so 55 is fairly rapid to be fair. However, I set myself a monumental task of trying to meet the platinum trophy requirements in under 40 hours, the question is, was the lad successful? Read on to find out! I’m far off my prime, my reflexes are not as sharp as they once were, plus I’m getting old. I'm 37 next month. Over a year ago I recall receiving a comment on a Devil May Cry 5 character guide I wrote, where I mentioned quite clearly that I’m far beyond trophy competency at the hack n slash genre which to my surprise wasn’t completely believed. Let this post give you an insight, a glimpse into my experience that will give you confidence for the future. Trophy hunting websites base their fastest achievers on how many days it takes you to earn the platinum, anyone who is trophy competent can get a platinum close to the top 5 fastest achievers if they have no social life or responsibilities. Rest assured I define skill by how long it takes you to complete a game in hours rather than how many hours a day you can play games for. So with that little quote out of the way, let’s check out my roadmap! Please bear in mind I refrained from using any out of bound (OOB) glitches throughout my entire journey. __________________________________________________________________________________________ The Journey #: Step 1 - Work on the “Power of Two” trophy for completing all of the team missions which helped me get kills for Rachel optimally, outside of replaying Mentor 2 team mission. #: Step 2 - Play through the single player campaign on Mentor (Hard) difficulty whilst collecting as many crystal skulls as possible, or in my case from memory. I killed everyone in this playthrough because I need kills. #: Step 3 - Play through chapter challenges for Acolyte, Warrior & Mentor difficulty earning a Master Ninja rating on each one, on the first attempt. #: Step 4 - Speed run through the single player campaign on both Acolyte & Warrior difficulty. Only fighting when I have to, and running past non-mandatory encounters. #: Step 5 - Speed run Master Ninja difficulty without opening chests, and running past non-mandatory encounters with an un-upgraded health bar. #: Step 6 - Earn a Master Ninja rating on all 17 chapters of Master Ninja difficulty via chapter challenge. #: Step 7 - The final step is simple, mop up any remaining kills I need for the platinum trophy. In my case I needed to grind over 500 kills for both Ayane and Momiji. For Momiji, I grinded kills by replaying Acolyte 1 team mission whilst Ayane, I replayed Mentor 2. I’ve taken the liberty of screen-shotting my single player campaigns on each difficulty to give you an idea of how long it took me to get through each difficulty. __________________________________________________________________________________________ #: Pic 1 - Acolyte single player speedrun at final save statue #: Pic 2 - Warrior single player speedrun at final save statue #: Pic 3 - Mentor single player (Normal playthrough) before final chapter #: Pic 4 - Master Ninja single player speedrun at the final save statue __________________________________________________________________________________________ For a full breakdown of my in-game ninja records, I’ve recorded this video as well as my play-time for your convenience. Theoretically it's possible to beat this time but good luck for anyone who wants to try it! In terms of my gaming career over the last 30+ years I’d put this achievement very highly given the speed I ran through this platinum and my age. Imagine what sort of speed I could put out in my prime! Bonus video Finally I’d like to dedicate this platinum trophy to the people who support what I do, and respect the lad as a player and a person, and especially to those select few individuals who need to put some respect on my name! Copanele
Damn, one day I will have to finally play this series 😆 i bought the PS4 collection but i haven't touched it yet. Big congrats! Ninja Gaiden does look like a fun skill based action h&s which I should definitely enjoy. Was thinking that, considering the combat, technicalities and the same dev team, you would really enjoy Nioh. Combat can really get bonkers there too! Also Ayane is in the game??? Even more reason to start the series then!

Even more reason to start the series then! The PS4 version of Sigma 2 is way easier than its PS3 counterpart and the trials were tuned very well! Even on Master Ninja you can still get one-shot grabbed (iirc?) unless I just completely phased that out from memory. Razor's Edge on the other hand I found more annoying as while Team Ninja claimed to have 'nerfed' the trials to be able to do solo, some of them, especially on Ultimate Ninja difficulty, felt like they weren't touched at all. So....yeah. Tl;dr Play Sigma 2, great game, but skip Razor's Edge if you value your sanity as Ultimate Ninja difficulty is BS to the highest merit.

Lord_of_Ra
Very nice! I'm SO glad to hear the online was slashed from the trophy list. Imo this makes the PS4 version a more worthy achievement, since it's all on you. The Ps3 ver, while great, has the worst try-hard BS of making the hardest trophies online, and requiring you to tag up with someone from the NG community. Save for some peeps who are kind to help like Sergen, a lot of the NG community is filled with trash, who won't wait for you to "git gud." So you're stuck with cheesing it and hoping you meet a kind soul who will tag along. It's just not a fun challenge. @Copanele I would recommend you play NGS2. Imo it's leagues better than the first one in terms of gameplay. The first one is ok, but you can tell they were first starting out with the formula, kind of like how DMC1 started good and DMC3 perfected it so much more.
