Popular Post jaehyun1009
#106 - Knack Difficulty 6/10 Score 7/10 Many frustrating moments with this one but a nice platinum at the end and a perpetual low completion game now off my back. Diamond knack makes everything easier but you still have to be careful on very hard as you can get easily killed in 1-2 hits in many parts and checkpoints might not be that generous (depending on what you're used to). Surprisingly enough farming the relics didn't prove to be that much trouble; I even had excess diamond at the end. The game itself could use some work ,not worth the full $60 that I paid for when the game first came out as a launch title but certainly not a bad game. Somewhat reminds me of Order 1886 this way. The sequel looks a lot better from the trailers that I've seen so I'll get around to playing that soon as well.

Popular Post Jesaya815
#179 Prey TranStar Employee of the Year This was one of these games that I enjoyed more during my second playthrough. There can be a lot of frustrating and tough moments, while going for all collectibles, having no upgrades, and trying to save everyone, which I did for my first run. Thankfully you can save/reload anytime you want, although the loading times are annoying. Nevertheless I really liked Prey for what it was and for the challenge it presents. It has a little bit of everything - Survival Horror, Metroidvania, and of course aspects of Alien: Isolation. Plus it was so cool to be outside of the station and just float around in space.
Lawless_Llama
Parappa The Rapper "Hip Hop Hero" (Platinum #29) I love this game to death, but the only really annoying part of the game is the 4th stage and trying to get "Cool" status. The game is quite a breeze up to this point, and the following stages aren't as difficult as well, but it carries over the quirks from the original title where it is necessary to press the correct buttons a little earlier than expected so Parappa can form a coherent sentence throughout the stage. Once you get the hang of it, and adding extra beats for L1/R1 when those pop up, getting past the stage and earning the "Cool" status is easier but sometimes still a challenge. A good challenge for a good game, and besides, least I got a cool platinum!

Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #94: N.E.R.O. (July 3rd, 2017) Difficulty: 2/10 Excitement: 6/10 Time to Platinum: 2 - 4 Hours Enjoyable little walking simulator. Graphics could of been upped a little but they're nothing bad. I had to increase the gamma for this game because it was simply too dark to see where you're going, especially around the beginning. The story was told in a way you don't typically see in a AAA game. It tells the story of a family but you don't necessarily see the connections until close to the end. I felt it was well done. Puzzles weren't extremely easy but they were for the same part relatively simple to solve. This was a big plus for me since I absolutely hate overly difficult puzzles in walking simulators as that hinders the experience rather than compliments it. N.E.R.O. (Nothing Ever Remains Obscure) is a very short game. I felt it was necessary to rent the game to save a bit of money. Recommended if you want an easy game to your list. If you want a game that challenges you, look elsewhere. Platinum #95: Ether One (July 8th, 2017) Difficulty: 2/10 (7/10 without a guide) Excitement: 5/10 Time to Platinum: 4 - 7 Hours Spoiler A little walking simulator hindered with bugs and glitches. I had to make multiple saves during my playthrough due to all the reports of the game crashing on people and the glitches that would force a restart if one did not back up their save. I used the USB save trick to put multiple saves on the flash drive in case my game crashed and the save files became corrupt. Not exactly a pleasant experience as I did this frequently, which took time. You play as a Restorer for a company called the Ether Institute of Telepathic Medicine. The story was rather interesting to listen to, as you take the role of a woman diagnosed with dementia, whom the Restorer is tasking with investigating. Throughout the game you have to help a woman named Edmunds who guides you through the memories. Usually involving fixing a projector, or finding a red bow tied to an object. There's nothing here that hasn't been done by other walking simulators. The issue I had was primarily fear of the game crashing. Thankfully however two particularly well known spots that involved fixing a projector didn't glitch out of me, as they did for many people before. Despite all the patches added to this game I still had issues teleporting from the Case, as this caused constant freezing, forcing me to exit out to the XMB. Going from Pinwheel Harbour to Pinwheel Village via gate resulted in a 5 to 10 minute wait time. Not the worst thing that can happen, but still annoying. I recommend if you want an easy platinum. Otherwise I would pass. Edited July 22, 2017 by Spaz
Popular Post SirDave1988
# 75 - Crash Bandicoot 2 : Cortex Strikes Back (PS4) The N. Credible Crash Bandicoot! Collect all the Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back trophies. Nice way to hit the 75th milestone of sorts with this one! In my opinion, this is just as, if not more challenging, than Crash 1 in this trilogy re-release (excluding The High Road). The time trials in particular are more challenging as it requires you run at a higher max speed than normal constantly. As such, mistakes are far easier to make this way, even if the jumping is a touch easier than in Crash 1. Overall, I enjoyed it nonetheless, they really have done an outstanding job with this remaster, probably the best I've ever played, exactly what remastered games should aspire to be like. Will be leaving Crash 3 for a bit though, those time trials do get a bit wearing after a while haha.

Popular Post Alternatewarning
All Complete I really enjoyed this game. At first I was a little iffy since it takes a while to get a feel for all the characters but the more I played the more I liked it. Also, it's not a long game so going through it two times really didn't seem excessive. Especially since the story is expanded and finished in NG+. I really liked it, no complaints. It was a little buggy at times and froze once or twice but a game restart always fixed it so I didn't mind. I would definitely recommend this game though.
Nauticus87
#130 - Touhou Double Focus To make up for all those common plats yesterday, finished off a very rare one at 7.88%. Was a good enough game but the Vita really struggled to play it for some reason. I would have finished it last week if not for stupidity and bad luck. Missed some of the photos on my first play. Lost my no-save 100% run when it crashed after I'd done about 90%. 3rd play went fine. First sub hour speed run attempt, which I tried immediately after the above crash, got to final boss after 50 minutes, forgetting the great aerial slash along the way, then got beat twice (it adds 5m each time you lose) and nearly chucked the Vita at the wall. Second attempt finished in 36 minutes with one loss so was happy.
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinums #96 & #97: Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (July 21st, 2017) Difficulty: 4/10 Excitement: 6/10 Time to Platinum: 23 - 25 Hours This one was a bit of a chore. Thieves in Time starts up where Sly 3 left off. You play as Sly Cooper, a raccoon with a long family history of thieves. Not just any line of thieves, but thieves who steal from other thieves. Unfortunately the Thievius Raccoonus, a book containing history on the Coopers, has had it's history slowly erased. Bentley, a turtle with a knack for intelligence, hacking and gadgets, is the first to notice this and immediately rounds up the gang. Murray, a hippo with high strength and endurance, is also being called upon. The game is essentially about going back in time to visit the Cooper ancestors and undo the damage being done in the past. Anyone who has played the original trilogy from Sucker Punch should feel right at home with Thieves in Time. Sanzaru Games got the franchise and they did pretty good with their efforts. The characters are just as witty and full of humor here as they were in the previous games. The main trio has the same voices, which is a relief since Carmelita went through yet another voice change. The graphical style is just what I would expect in the shift to the PS3, giving it a distinct look when compared with other platformers. I feel that over time, Thieves in Time will hold up fairly well. There are a number of faults that made the entire experience a pain to play through. The loading times, as many people probably said before, are horrendous. Just getting back into the Hub is a pain because you have to sit through a lengthy loading screen. As a matter of fact every loading screen I experienced throughout the game was lengthy, usually lasting 30 seconds to a little under a minute. So getting to the Hub from the Free Roam area was a loading screen. Get back into Free Roam, another loading screen. Get into an area for a particular mission. Loading screen. I understand that the Playstation 3 is rather weak performance wise when compared to today's next gen consoles and PC desktops, but to experience a buttload of loading screens is inexcusable. I don't think Thieves in Time was big enough to warrant having a crapload of loading screens unless it was trying to be more like Uncharted 2 or God of War III. Neither game had as many loading screens, which kind of tells me Sanzaru Games didn't exactly program Thieves in Time as well as they could have. Bottles make a comeback, and there are the treasures scattered throughout the Free Roam locations. You have to get all the bottles, treasures and masks to get all the trophies in this game. The masks aren't all in the Free Roam area, some are in particular missions and there is one mask in each area (there are five main locations in total) that requires repairing an arcade machine and finding it within that arcade game. In order to repair the arcade machine, you have to collect all the treasures, and to collect all the treasures you have to collect all the costumes. Furthermore in order to collect all the costumes, you have to wait until you reach the fifth main location in the game, which is fairly late as each area usually takes two to three hours to get through. Many of the trophies don't unlock until late in the game, since they're tied to collectibles. In total there are 270 collectibles in all, and that takes several hours to get them. The arcade games were a nice distraction, but they were used far too much in Thieves in Time. Only Bentley has access to the games because he is the only member of the gang who is able to hack, which is needed to get past certain obstacles in various missions. There are three different arcade games. Two are fine, one is complete horseshit. This particular arcade, named Spark Runner, has you using motion controls on the Sixaxis controller. You have to physically move your controller in order to get the Spark ball to move, and it sucks. The ball isn't very responsive, the obstacles are shit, the entire arcade game I felt was just thrown in so there can be some variety. On the third arcade machine (required to unlock 8-Bit Bentley trophy) I failed at least 50 times before I could beat the top score. This is a perfect example of why most developers didn't put in motion controls in their games, because they simply suck. Thieves in Time would of been a lot better without the loading screens. All in all it's not a bad game by any means. There's a good amount of grinding involved and the loading screens take up a huge chunk of time. 23 - 25 hours is a lot considering Thieves in Time isn't all that difficult and it's basically a platformer through and through. Overall I do recommend this game if you're looking to wrap up the series. There are a few frustrating trophies which make the game not very enjoyable, and I say once more the loading screens were completely awful. At least I was able to autopop trophies with the Vita. After having to do hours of backtracking, along with missing one map for a trophy which involved going through every single area in the game and pressing the select button, I felt like I deserved getting two platinums out of this. Not too bad, but the flaws prevent Thieves in Time from becoming an actual very good game worthy of your time. Popular Post ResidentScrub
#74 - Persona 4 Golden I've never Persona'd before but thought Persona 5 looked pretty good when it came out. I wasn't sure I'd actually like it though so when I saw this on PS store for a couple of quid a few months ago I thought I'd use it as a tester. Turns out it's one of the best games I've ever played....it's damn near perfect. I've had a number of the songs from the game stuck in my head for the last few months too. Will definitely be picking up P5 when I have some cash.
Popular Post BuddyLakes
#21 - Black Ops 3 Platinum Awarded when all other trophies have been unlocked. I did it. I finally did it. After countless hours of grinding, and tearing my hair out from the frustration, I finally conquered this bitch of a platinum trophy. "Personal Decorator" is by far the hardest trophy in a video game I've ever gotten, and I would go as far as to say it's harder to obtain than any other platinum I've gotten. Needless to say it was very entertaining besides beating the campaign and combat simulator on realistic, and beating every mission on veteran without using a checkpoint. Beating the campaign on realistic is the most mind numbingly difficult and unfair thing I've ever done in a game. There are a couple sections where you are forced out into the open just praying nobody will hit you. For anyone attempting to get this platinum, I wish you the best of luck. You're gonna need it. Popular Post Dead Weight
#176 NieR: Automata The game plays fantastic but I already knew it would since Platinum Games developed. I just thought that it lacks the charm that the original NieR had, maybe because Weiss and Kainé were just really good characters though 2B, 9S, A2, and the pods do have their moments. The music is also fantastic, just on par with the NieR`s fantastic soundtrack. I didn`t really feel like cleaning up the last bunch of trophies I had so I just took the easy route and bought them in-game.
Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
Apologies for the lengthy post, but I earned 3 platinums today! #49 Ratchet and Clank HD (PS3) Revisiting this game years later was great and it really makes me appreciate the newer games that have come out in the past few years. I still have more Ratchet and Clank games left in the backlog, but let's just all hope that they don't look as ugly and stupid as this platinum image. Towards the end, I was starting to get worried that leaving the PS3 on for the bolt glitch would kill my PS3, but it was worth the risk of not having to play through the game 6 times. #50 Dark Cloud This is one of my favorite games of all time which is why I specifically earned these platinums in this order. This game has aged super well in my opinion and was easier to beat than it was as a teenager. Though, this one will stay on the PS4 for quite some time. I still want to try my luck at the Demon Shaft (post game dungeon) as I was only able to make it in the 70s or 80s floors and could never get any further due to pretty much getting one-hit killed by everything. For those who haven't played this classic yet, you are serious missing out. Each dungeon is randomly generated and makes you keep coming back for more killing and more looting. #51 Game of Thrones I was actually pleasantly surprised by this Telltale game. I've never watched GoT nor have read anything about it, but I found the story really engaging. The game does a great job of putting you in position to make some gut-wrenching decisions; the only sad part is that unless you play the game again, you can never tell if the choice really made a difference. The graphics weren't great (even for the PS4), but at least I didn't come across any bizarre glitches like I've heard others complain about. Not the best Telltale, but I'd put it above TWD S2. So for anyone who read all that and is not furious that I took up half a page, thank you... but here are my stats for this year on my trophy hunting rampage. Trophies earned: 960 Platinums Earned: 20 Highest number of trophies in a month: 230 Most plats in a month: 4 Most Plats in a day: 3 (today)
Popular Post Meacham
Platinum #209 - Mass Effect 3 (PS3) | Enjoyment: 9/10 | Difficulty: 4/10 | 23/7/17 | Recommendable Going to keep this one short and sweet. Not much you can really say without ruining basically 3 games for you. I'm glad I finally got round to finishing this trilogy as it's now one of my all time faves. The choices you make in the first game, impact the second which in turn impacts the third and in my opinion that's great. Gameplay obviously gets better after every installment. A lot of good things were added in after 2 which made combat more enjoyable. This game had variety in comparison to the previous two. A lot more weapons. A lot more armor. Just a lot of things now, it makes you have a lot more feels as well. They had a dramatic soundtrack for once and you finally cared about some characters. Also, a lot more variety when it comes to enemies. One thing I thought it lacked though was not as good team selection as two and three. I would tell you my team but it's spoilers. Everything in this game is just spoilers, which is why I won't type a lot. Oh and Insanity is easy in comparison to 2. Especially with a couple of powers such as Defense Matrix at full level (basically infinite shield). I'll buy Andromeda eventually and will compare it to the shep trilogy. I highly recommend the games. 1 is a little difficult to get into and used to but when you do its pretty good. Popular Post innocentinstinct
I earned 2 Platinums today. (Well yesterday, I guess, but whatever.) #24: Hitman GO: Definitive Edition Agent 47 A decent challenge without looking up the solutions. I love the board game-esque style. Kind of interested in playing a normal Hitman game now. #25: Titan Souls Ascension Hoo boy. This is honestly one if the hardest games I've ever played; getting the Platinum is on par with Shadow of the Colossus, in my opinion. Those extra difficulty modes are some sons of bitches, but it's SO satisfying when you finally beat them.
