Popular Post elpoko
#70 Overland A fun turn based survival game, a couple of the trophies were RNG based which can be a little frustrating but nothing too bad. Wouldn't fancy it much without a USB though. Took me about 25 hours but that could be trimmed to about 12 with good planning.

Popular Post Dokusha
#106: Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout The Atelier series has enticed me for quite some time; its uniquely laidback approach to storytelling and girlish charm appeal to me rather a lot, but despite their cutesy presentation and slice-of-life storylines, I've found the games a tad inaccessible. Until now, that is, because the wonderful Atelier Ryza has finally pulled me in without scaring me with deadlines or difficult-to-parse synthesis systems. Don't misunderstand me, this isn't a watered-down experience in the slightest. There's still a lot of mechanical depth and complexity to be found here, it's just that the entry threshold has been lowered somewhat, making it easier for Atelier newbies like myself to come inside and warm their hands at the cosy hearth before getting down to the nitty-gritty of using alchemy to create all the things. The story pacing is also more dynamic than it was in, say, Atelier Sophie. The tale of how one Reisalin Stout and her childhood buddies are stuck on an arch-conservative rural little island that stifles their burning desire for adventure and excitement is engaging from start to finish, helped by brisk pacing and a generous fast-travel system that makes it easy to get ready into the action without having to waste time shlepping towards the relevant area first. Combat remains fun as well - eschewing a more traditional turn-based system, Atelier Ryza utilises an ATB style instead, where you'll have to manage your AP (spells) and CC (items) metres carefully lest you run out of points by the time you reach a boss encounter. Everyone involved in this game seems to have stepped up their usual efforts. The game clearly runs on a new engine, making for some really pretty visuals and smoother animations, and even notoriously careless publisher/localiser KT appears to have put in more effort this time around, as the English translation is their best effort in years. What a night and day difference with the other Gust game I completed this year! Complementing the series' laidback atmosphere, there are no missable trophies in Atelier Ryza. The platinum is fairly straightforward, requiring some but not an odious amount of grinding. You won't have to dance with the RNG demon, this is a friendly game that respects your time. Easily one of my Games of the Year, and heartily recommended to anyone interested in a relaxing, colourful JRPG with an easy-to-grasp-but-hard-to-master alchemy system!
Popular Post Vrisnem
Sky Clad Observer Steins;Gate I think this was a PS+ game one month. I started playing it after a repetitive strain injury had me "banned" from playing video games earlier this year, but then dropped it when my wrist improved again. I picked it up again yesterday while I'm stuck in bed sick and other games were giving me motion sickness type symptoms. I'm not sure if it's because it was taking my mind off of feeling awful but it sucked me right in. I didn't see a lot of the twists coming in this game and I fell in love with most of the characters. One scene made me so angry I ranted at my partner and considered dropping it altogether (if you've played it then it's a particular scene on Suzuha's end path), while others moved me to tears. I binged most of this game in the past two days and loved (almost) every second. Immediately jumped on Amazon and ordered Steins;Gate 0 - due tomorrow! ?

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#408 - Bloodborne I kind of wanted to save this one for a milestone, but it'll take forever until I reach the 450 plats. So I just got it over with now. Best game on PS4 by miles and pure fun from start to finish. DLC was great as well. The Chalice Dungeons were a bit of a pain, not so much because of the bosses, but the whole having to gather materials to create the chalices. I'll probably end up returning every once in a while to this game and just play it for the hell of it. Enjoyment: 10 Difficulty. 6.5 Edited November 24, 2019 by voodoo_eyes

Popular Post Dr_Mayus
Alpha Plat Rain - Xing: The Land Beyond I didn't really know what to expect out of this game but all the reviews were positive so I thought I would give it a chance. This is a really beautiful puzzle game with some very interesting puzzle (only one made me check a guide and I felt so stupid when I saw the answer). Great music, visuals and just the right amount of difficulty a good one to check out if you see it on sale. Also I don't own VR but if you do own it it works with that as well Just 2 more letters left I and Q
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
PS3 #260: Does Everything a Spider Can! This game really surprised me, in that when I was all done, I didn't end up hating it, and actually ended up liking alot of elements about it! But still, the general consensus of it not being very good is accurate. Angry Joe summed it up when he said that for every step forward the game took, it also took a step backwards. 1) Spideys moves and animations are still fun to watch, and there a few cool exploitable moves like a sonic boom hadoken and weapon disarm present. BUT, like the first game, style trumps substance, making things worse when you REALLY don't want it to. Needlessly complex and overly long attack animations still leave you open, though I will say the stealth moves do seem to get straight to the point now. 2) The web swinging is much more involved while still being fairly easy to learn, as alternating between arms is never required; you can pretty much swing one-handed if you want. However, the devs didn't account for traversal ABOVE buildings outside of the web rush, which despite being a speed move still kills momentum with its setup and slowdown. This, combined with the same "right up on Spidey's should camera" means there will be plenty of instances and hitting a wall with the camera getting caught up in it, disorienting you. 3) There is greater mission variety, involving very different tasks to do. But again, the pesky camera and aforementioned animations gets in the way, hindering you, making many of these missions a chore that you will ignore once you get the trophies for it. Though, there are still two or three that are easy and fun enough to level up your powers. And then you get game design that makes no sense. Unlike in prior games, when cut-scenes and load screens where present in only a few mission types, NOW EVERY SINGLE MISSION BEGINS AND ENDS WITH A CUT-SCENE. You can never swing in, beat up a bad guy and swing out; nope, now you have to wait for a cut-scene to set up the mission and play out telling you what you already know and just completely KILL the pacing. Finally, we have the Hero/Menace system. In short, its a system designed to punish you for NOT doing the supposedly optional side missions by raising your Menace meter which results in additional enemies harassing you. Sounds like a bad deal, and it is, but surprising to me, was probably the least annoying aspect of all the negatives. Why? Because the system is very easy to cheat out to keep your level solely in Hero mode, and it's as simple as beating a mission, stopping and restarting the game, and doing it over until you're green. But that ain't a positive, is it, if you have to cheat the system and not play the game properly? But not onto the new things that I DID like. I actually the narrative here. Now don't get me wrong, it absolutely needed more time in the oven, and it does smell of studio execs trying to force the game to capitalize on the movie, as ONE of its two villains are very obviously shoehorned, but I do get and appreciate what it was going for. in It's a retelling of the movie story, that tries to take into account ASM1 games' story and make better sense of the movies' unexplained plot elements within its universe. It's about the fine line between heroic and violent vigilante justice, as a rogues gallery of villains try show Spider-Man that some criminals need to be dealt with my any means possible, and Spidey reflecting on everything that's happened to him and about whether or not he sees their point. But this is odd, because there is a huge missed opportunity here. Question, what would be the most tragic thing that happened to Spidey in this movie? Question 2, who is the ONE character that is only mentioned ONCE in the game? In TEXT? Yes, Gwen is completely 100% AXED from the game's narrative. Not a single mention outside of a costume description. This is a story about Spidey possibly being tempted to the dark side, and the one MAJOR catalyst that easily could've made that happen is nowhere to be seen. Not a big deal to me, as I found her to be mishandled in the movie to begin with, but still very VERY odd. Maybe it was done to avoid spoilers. I also liked the dialogue trees. Yes 100% pointless, but I still the option of being able to in a small way flesh out a character or story by learning more about them, which is pretty much their only function. I also liked dicking around as Peter Parker, going around talking to people and exploring the game's handful of venues. Again, pretty pointless, but its things like this that make a city sandbox feel like more than just a bunch of boxes you can't go into and just have to avoid. Lastly, the trophy list is nowhere near as demanding as the prior game. Yes the game has to be done on Super Hero, but as someone going into expecting to hate this, I honestly had no real problems with it; it's pretty damn easy. You can then bump the difficulty down if you want, there are workarounds and exploits to get around the more demanding parts. With a planned out clever playthrough, you can get through it fairly easy with little headache. So does that mean I WILL do the Ps4 version and complete my Spidey platinum collection, instead of the one and done I thought it would be? ........Yeah, I think I will. Might take a bit of a break though. PS4 #261: Platinum Trophy So here I a, with both platinums and 1000g for Prototype 2. My feelings are the same as before; this game is a blast, and I only wish they kept all of the traversal parkour options from the first game. Though I guess I DO have a few more minor negatives. First would be the colorful language; yeah, its gets old after a while. The main problem I have with it is that it doesn't really try to be clever. It just peppers loads of swears into otherwise forgettable conversations. My second problem is with the port of the PS4 version; I'm not too sure, but there seems to be something really off with it, outside the fact that it is simply the PS3 version repackaged with no worthwhile glow-ups. The way your character controls feels very off; sometimes he feels responsive, other times its like he's trying to fight your inputs when you try to move him forward and back, like the controls get stuck. I'm fairly certain it isn't a problem with my controller too, but I may replay the other versions to be sure.

Popular Post DEI2EK
#33 The best Cold Steel game so far and probably in my Top 3 of the entire series. Fantastic ride throughout and i can't wait for the next one. I’ve played 8 of the 9 Trails of games. I love Falcom games and need to plat more of them. Took me 90 hours to plat it, that was stopping and talking to everyone every chance i got in my first playthrough Now I'm gonna work on Driveclub, Batman Arkham Origins, and maybe start Death Stranding Edited November 24, 2019 by DEI2EK
Popular Post MissShake
#46: Blazblue Cross Tag Battle Crossing Fate Mastered BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE. I wasn't really sure if I was gonna like Cross Tag, in all honesty. Maybe it was all the controversy earlier on, but it was not something I rushed to get. Well, I ended up getting it in a sale a while ago, and I think the game is decent enough. I mostly had fun playing Yosuke, my main in P4U, again. Makes me reeeally want a port of that game over to the PS4... But I like the majority of the franchises represented in Cross Tag (never cared about RWBY), so I ended up enjoying myself. This is an easier plat, especially for a fighting game. I was a bit worried about doing all of the trials for one character since I never really consider myself a "pro" on any level, but it's easy enough if you pick a character like Kanji who doesn't require too many combinations. I'm still on the fence about getting season two... I guess we will have to see. As I mentioned when I got the SCVI plat, I have decided to go for trying to get all of the plats for games that were on the main stage at EVO, and with this I have the plats for five of the main stage games! I have to get MK11, SFV, and DBFZ still, so I guess we will have to see how this goes~

Popular Post Alex_Hedgehog
Platinum #64: Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Perfect Storm Master Acquired all the trophies. I've been reading Naruto manga when I was way younger and I really loved the series. I used to have and play Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 on PS2 and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 - The Phantom Fortress on PSP and that was my last Naruto game I have played. Strange enough because in my PS3 days I always wanted to check out Ultimate Ninja Storm series and I was planning to start with this one but it just never happened. Now the fact that they put the trilogy on the PS4 makes me really happy (and for the first time ever you can earn trophies in the first game!!) 'cause even though the game is repeating itself a lot, I still enjoyed it. One thing I didn't like is the thing that the bonus requirements can't be made until you finish each mission at least once. Also at first the fighting system was kind of weird to me but I think I caught on it real quick. Can't wait to check out the other games from trilogy especially that when I've had almost no games on my PS3 I used to beat Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Demo all the time, lol.

Popular Post sephiroth4424
#176 Sword Art Online: Lost Song ALO's Strongest Player Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Lost Song is better than Hollow Realization, but worse than Hollow Fragment. Story is weak and a bit silly. At least this game didn't require unreasonable grinding and didn't have stupid affinity trophies. Being able to fly was a nice feature because travelling to the objectives was faster. This was the third SAO i played so far and i'm disappointed from the series. It seems that devs don't put any effort to the games and just rely to anime's popularity
Popular Post iXanon
#21 LEGO Jurassic World Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Time taken: 1 year, 8 months I started this in March 2008 and finished the Jurassic Park levels, but didn't come back to finish the rest of the game until October 2019.. When I did come back to it, I actually found the grindy trophies toward the 100% far more enjoyable than I anticipated.
