Popular Post Tianna_Mortis
Platinum #26: Jump Force Thoughts: Overall a pretty fun game. I liked how it doesn't give you the option to change the difficulty of story mode. That always makes for an interesting game to me. Either get good or go home. The story itself was enjoyable as well. This is my first platinum on a fighting game.
Popular Post DeathReki
So it's been a while now that I'm using PsnProfiles but I never posted a platinum I got. As I obtained my 200th platinum, I thought "better late than never". So my first post is this one : Platinum #200 : Red Dead Redemption 2 I had a lot if fun playing the solo mode when the game released last year. I didn't have any problem for the 70 gold medals as I did them immediately, I played the mission first to discover it and then I reloaded it to do the gold medal. But God the Online part of the game... I managed to get to level 25 by playing with friends but then I couldnt take it anymore... until just recently with the jobs system. The game seriously needed it ! Anyway, I managed to get to my goal of 200 platinums before the end of 2019 !
Popular Post eigen-space
Platinum #86 - Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon Party Like It's 2024, 36.66% Rarity Difficulty - 3/10 , Time Spent - ~10 Hours , Enjoyment 7.5/10 An evil sorceress has stolen all the dragon eggs in order to use their magical power... who better to go up against this evil than Spyro and friends? Spyro 3 offers some changes from the prior two titles, mostly by way of introducing new characters to play, each with their own special set of abilities/controls. Definitely a way to keep the game feeling fresh when you're pretty much doing all the same things from the previous game (collecting gems and eggs, completing mini-games, flaming/bashing easy enemies). Some of the mini-games in this game were a bit difficult, such as some of the skateboarding challenges and races in the flying levels. Thankfully this game doesn't make you get a true 100% in order to get the platinum, otherwise I may have found it frustrating. However, as I am a completionist at hear, I am a bit disappointed that you don't need a true 100% as you did in the other two games. Maybe the devs did realize that it was a harder game in general. Regardless, great trilogy that definitely goes down as a gaming classic.

Popular Post X_Wizi_X
#133 God of War: Ascension I decided to start the God of War series in chronological order and, according to Wiki, God of War Ascension is the prequel to everything. Starting on hard mode the game is exactly as I expected: hard. But the difficulty isn't because of the amount of damage that the enemies do, but of the chaos that, especially in the first half of the game, the dynamic camera does during the fighting. The zoom is exaggerated. Many times I could no longer see which was the enemy and which was Kratos. For those who have never played Ascension, I'll show you how far the camera zoom goes and my Tv is 50 inches: Graphic is very nice and some doubts about the story. In the end I can honestly say that luckily I played with a couple of other God of War (I and II) years ago just for fun, because if I had to rely exclusively on what Ascension had to offer in terms of game, controls, story and average quality, I don't know if I would have continued the series. Popular Post sh4d0wzcs
Platinum #99 Call Of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) Not much of a cod fan but I really enjoyed the shit out of the beta figured I'd pre-order and give it a good solid go and I wasn't disappointed. Story for me was really good, especially the stealth. MP was pretty fun to do even though there was no trophies for MP. Platinum #100 Dragon Ball FighterZ Finally fucking finally, after constantly changing my mind on which game I wanted as my 100th I finally chose to stick with FighterZ. Initially I was debating between FighterZ for the DBZ childhood nostalgia, GTA V for being one of my favorite games of all time (I grew up plating Vice City and San Andreas) or Undertale for the Platinum name hilarity. As for the game, I don't usually like fighting games like this but my love for dbz made me want to try it, I was hooked from the beta, and hooked for how flashy everything was, the story wasn't too strong but it was dbz so I didn't really care. The comp grind was a nightmare for me as I don't usually play fighting games at all and learning combos was a new learning curve for me. I ended up dropping this game due to grind rage for Zenni and other games looked more appealing at the time, and even when I was hooked playing this I was already debating what my 100th should be. The Zenni farm was fucking awful and I honestly believe 20m is 10m too much, but finally after 1year and 10 months this platinum is finally mine and I have finally broken into the triple digit platinum numbers. Platinum #101 Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order My love for Star Wars far exceeds my dislike for EA. Holy fucking shit Respawn really outdid themselves with this game, I loved every moment of this game and the ending fight was just so good. I loved the freedom of combat and how the level were designed, everything just amazed me with how beautiful the game is, and unlike others I never had any glitches or bugs during my entire play through. Bring on DLC and hopefully a sequel.

Popular Post Copanele
No. 73: Devil May Cry 2 (PS3) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Platinum Rarity : 9.31% - 4782 users platinumed this???Jeez.. Hardest Trophy : The Sky's the limit - S rank with trash can...sorry Lucia Difficulty : 1/10 with infinite DT and cheats, 7/10 doing it legit(bloody palace is horrendous in this game) Personal impression : 2/10 - still garbage. I completed this failure of a game again, on PS3. Why, you might ask? Because I want to complete all the devil may cry games available on playstation. Still this didn't remove the utter disgust I have for this game. While not as bad as the first time I played it on PS4 ( at least NOW I knew what I was getting into), the game is still garbage. Swords are useless, Dante is a cardboard copy of his DMC1 version, always flipping his stupid coin, Bosses are dumb as hell and Lucia...oh god the secondary playable character Lucia is atrocious! All she does is cartwheeling around and MISSING her attacks(because lock on doesn't work properly in this game). Besides that, Lucia has 2 underwater levels and 1 UNDERWATER INVISIBLE BOSS! The only good things about this game are : The outfits (except the Diesel one, looks ridiculous), the soundtrack which is quite decent, Trish (as an apology they included Trish with Dante's moveset from DMC1 and she is actually FUN to play), The Despair Embodied (final boss, too little too late) and the cheats that don't disable trophies. I don't usually cheat in videogames but this is an exception. A game this bad deserves to be cheated on. Well at least I am done with it. One more game from the series (DmC Devil May Cry for PS3 ) and then I can say I have all of them collected. At least I somewhat enjoy the reboot...

Popular Post Arcesius
Platinum #61 – Death's Gambit 100% Enjoyment: 8/10 100% Challenge: 6.5/10 Death's Gambit, a 2D pixelart action platformer with deliberate combat. Sounds familiar? ? Regardless, Death's Gambit is a fun albeit short game that offers a decent challenge if you are going for the platinum. Let's see how it did, shall we? 100% Enjoyment What is a "soulslike"? Well, according to many game journalists, anything that provides some sort of challenge. That seems to be all that many people see in the Souls games, their difficulty. Who hasn't talked to their non-gamer friends about Souls only to hear "Ah, is it that brutally difficult game? Yeah, I've heard of it". But, let's be honest, Dark Souls ain't hard per se, now is it? What makes it different than other action games, however, is the deliberate and methodical combat, paired with some sort of restriction, like the genious stamina meter. Coming from games like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, where button-mashing is a possible, playing Souls like those games will get you killed 99% of the time. Don't get me wrong, DmC and Bayonetta have deep combat systems, but they are much more beginner friendly, too. Why this unnecessary paragraph about what I think defines a "soulslike"? ? Well, because Death's Gambit is not only "soulslike"… It is Dark Souls in a pretty 2D and pixelated dress. And while many other games copy Dark Souls and try to hide it, Death's Gambit is very frank and open about it… Now, is it good? Hell yeah! Is it perfect? Far from it. The game was a mess at launch, full of game-breaking glitches, full of bugs, almost unplayable at times… But the devs didn't give it up, and now that I finally got to it, I can say that I have not encountered a single glitch in my time with Death's Gambit. (And I believe a massive DLC is coming soon...) You start the game by picking a class and starting item from a character creation menu that could have been implemented by FromSoftware (though without character customization, this is 2D after all). Once you pick your class, your journey begins… The plot is straightforward. You have signed a contract with Death itself, and are thus, immortal. Why is Death recruiting you? Well, the source of immortality needs to be destroyed, obviously (or he'll / it'll be without a job very soon ?). Funny thing, you can, if you want, tear up your contract, enabling perma-death. Pretty neat for someone looking for a tough challenge! On your journey, and in full Dark Souls fashion, you traverse unique areas (there is your snow area, your dark area, your castle,… you get it) and face about 13 bosses, many of which are over-the-top but well designed and really fun to fight. And here is where we need to talk about weapon variety and combat in general. The first point I actually see as something positive and negative at the same time… You see, there are a couple of different weapons to choose from… But for each type of weapon, there is only one single model! So, if you go with the daggers, you will be using the same daggers for the entire game (of course you can upgrade those, more on that later). On one hand I think this was a good choice, since the game is rather short, and loot is not the focus, and you don't need to balance that much. But that also plays into the general feeling I have of loot not being all that great. Whenever you see a chest, or an item lying around… You won't be super excited about it, as it's probably just gonna be another consumable that you won't be using anyways…? Now, about upgrading weapons… That's a bit more problematic… You can upgrade weapons and equipment up to +5 with Soul Stones, and each level requires more stones than the previous one. Those stones can, if you really wanted to, be farmed… But from +6 up to +10 you need Immortalite Stones, and those are limited. There are not even enough stones in one playthrough to get a single piece of equipment all the way to +10! That's an odd design choice, to be honest. There are about 36 or so such stones, and 32 are required to get a weapon from +9 to +10… ? As for the combat system, you know it by now. Enemies have attack wind-ups, you cannot interrupt your attacks and are restricted by a stamina meter. You can parry attacks to open up your enemies to devastating ripostes or roll, which grants you some i-frames. Enemies can stun you if your block drains all remaining stamina… and I've heard complaints about the stamina meter being implemented poorly, and that leveling up endurance is a must… But I finished the game on level 1 without much trouble, so that argument is out of the window (there is a trophy for that… more below). What's also neat is that, in Dark Souls 3 style, you also have special attacks that require energy to be used, a resource which is gathered by attacking enemies and is slowly drained when you are not fighting. Those special attacks can be pretty awesome, inflicting bleed on foes or increasing your damage output for some seconds, but they cannot be spammed. 100% Challenge Let me start with the following: In the first couple of patches, there was a debug-room available that could be used to become invincible, warp around to any place, get all items, get all abilities, etc… Most platinum achievers have used this room to unlock all trophies. The room has disappeared in August, and there have since only been four platinum achievers including myself. I am confident that, without that debug-room, the platinum rarity which is now sitting at 4.77% would be somewhere around 2%. ? Most of the trophies are straightforward… you just need to beat all bosses, and there are only a handful of miscellaneous trophies. Not unlike Salt and Sanctuary, a game very similar in style and where you have to defeat the first boss (that usually kills you), there is also a challenge here regarding the first boss, Owlking: You need to defeat it using only kicks. The trophy list then gets more interesting… After you beat any boss, you can challenge it to a rematch, but you'll face a much stronger "heroic" version. You'll need to beat all bosses on heroic for the plat. For some weird reason, one single boss becomes unavailable if you progress too far in the story! I didn't know this, since I almost always do a blind playthrough first, so that meant one additional playthrough for me… Weird design choice. ? Now, most bosses on heroic are fine, but the last two are just ridiculous… There is a level cap in each NG cycle, so at some point you just cannot get stronger… And as I mentioned above, there are limited resources for upgrading your gear, so it really comes down to skill. I mean look at the Eldritch Inquisitor…. You need to go through four phases first, which look something like this: When the blood level reaches 100% you're dead.. so it's a fight against a bullet-hell, enemies, bomb-traps, missiles… and time. Once you have dealt with all four phases, the Inquisitor itself will appear, and the fifth phase begins, where you'll be dodging the same attacks as before, as well as new attacks, while the blood level keeps rising…? Took me freaking 41 attempts to get this one done. Let's not talk about heroic Endless… Again a five-phase fight where your character is crippled by curses… EZ. Then there is "The Perfect Run", which is a fun and decent challenge, and not as hard as one might think. You'll need to finish the game in one sitting in under four hours and without leveling up. Routing this challenge was fun, figuring out where it was worth farming for equipment, what class and abilities to use, how to approach each boss… There is not much information out there as most platinum achievers didn't do this legit, and as far as I can tell, there is only one recorded run that uses abilities that have in the meantime been nerfed. ? Overall a very nice game that offers a decent challenge. If you liked Salt and Sanctuary and similar games, maybe you'll find something for you here!
Popular Post Dauersack
Transistor #38: Plat() A game from the same studio that made Bastion, I had high hopes it would be similar to that great game. While that holds true in terms of art style and a mute protagonist that mostly gets strung around by a narrator, the games are inherently different. For me this is a bit of a disappointment since I enjoyed Bastion a lot more, but Transistor is still a good game. You have a mix up between real time combat and turn based combat, giving you total freedom when you use each. The game is giving you 16 abilities, of which you can actively use 4, but you can put other abilities into upgrade slots to improve the active abilities in unique ways, you also can use some as passive abilities to help you in fights, so a lot of combinations to experiment with, something the game actively encourages by taking some abilities away from you temporarily when you take too much damage. The system does have its appeal, but I gotta say it has some flaws making it feel rather weird to use, the abilities are also balanced poorly, some are only ever useful as upgrades or passives, some are downright broken from the get go and become even more so when combined with the right upgrades, it feels like they went a bit too ambitious with it and wanted too much at once. Enemy variety is good enough to keep it interesting, no complaints from me there, though the MAN enemies are tricky to deal with if you lack certain tools. The world looks interesting, admittedly lacking the appearing platform gimmick Bastion had but making up for it with destructible walls forming all around you, creating arenas for your enemy encounters and giving you something to hide behind while you recharge your turn and have your abilities deactivated. The world is linear and gets explained mostly by terminals and the narrating voice that is, sadly, a big letdown compared to the awesome voice in Bastion. All the humor has gone out of the window too, making for a much more bleak and depressing tone, and the tiny number of characters is a bit of a letdown too especially given that one character is mostly just a voice, and the protagonist is a mute. The games music is just as good as Bastions though, complementing the world in pretty much any way, though it was not really my kind of music I can recognize its quality and that it fits in well. The game gives additional challenges in the same way Bastion does, Tests with preset weapons that become more and more difficult, limiters that buff enemies greatly in exchange for higher xp rewards, and a new game plus to add a bit to it, it is only one ending though, which is a shame. Regarding the story I gotta say this is my biggest complaint with the game, as it goes out of its way to obscure things, being way too vague and sometimes downright confusing. After finishing the playthrough I still have a hard time really making much sense of it, so it naturally did not really click with me in the way Bastion did, and I usually do not mind the more vague approach to storytelling, yet here it feels like it hit the mark with me. Game is a few hours in total, giving plenty of different things to do and abilities to use and play around with, being easy on the base game but turning out to be quite a challenge with the limiters and the late stage Tests, so I still recommend it if you stumble upon it on a sale and want to see something a bit different. The studio has a rather unique approach to games that is quite refreshing in the industry today, so I hope they release more games in future. Their third game is something I have put on my wishlist, so I might tackle that in the future when my backlog has decreased.

Popular Post Leon Castle
#160 Genkai Tokki: Monster Monpiece 11th Dec 2019 The first Genkai Tokki to make it west but is the only one on Playstation of the series. Around 5 years ago I only got the game mostly due to Neptune being in it. After reading @Masamune was going to make it his 150 Platinum. It got me to want to go back to this game, still my old save data was uploaded to one of my old laptops that I broke in a state of anger so I had to start a new save but I was glad I did that as I liked the game more then I did 5 years ago. My deck ended up better then my old save data which had a lot of Dragons and Neptune, This time it was... still a lot of Dragons and Neptune but with some other types of Monster Girl types like Titan(Demi-human like Neptune but is a force to be reckoned with then fused with Purple Heart) and a few Healers and some Buffers. Popular Post ZoutjeNL
Platinum #19 Mortal Kombat 11 Enjoyment: 6 Difficulty: 6 As I continue my journey to expand my gaming horizon and try out genres I don't usually play, fighters were up next! I have not played a proper fighting game since Tekken 3 which I really loved as a kid. I never played a Mortal Kombat game before but found the brutal animations very satisfying to watch. Last black friday I managed to grab it for cheap, so what was my experience? I found the story pretty forgettable, altough expected as story is not the reason for the majority to play fighting games. The different game modes is a plus for me, the different towers with challenges, different type of multiplayer modes and finally the crypt. Oh and lets talk about the tutorial for me no doubt the hardest trophy in the game. Overall the majority of the tutorials were fine. However one of them took me about 2 hours of spamming buttons, I felt like a starcraft player during this part... it was not the most pleasant experience. The combat and animations were really nicely done. The Kasual matches were pretty enjoyable for me altough I am a pretty terrible player. However ultimately the game was not as great as I hoped. Some grindy trophies for unlocking the victories and character intros. Combine this with the lackluster story it came to an average game for me. I liked that I tried out a genre I don't usually play but ultimately I don't think fighters are really my cup of tea. Now I just need to find a suiting game for the next milestone, number 20!

Popular Post Dauersack
Sniper Elite 4 #39: Platinum Trophy Got this platinum today as part of a clean up. I played most of this game in october after it was free on psplus, but abandoned it before getting the plat because of the Authentic plus difficulty run being a massive pain in the ass. Thanks to a buddy of mine who was also on his way towards the platinum I got back to the game and we suffered through the highest difficulty together, with him admittedly doing most of the heavy lifting when it came to great shots. The game was some simple, mindless fun for most of it. You spend most of your time planning your moves, sneaking around, killing a few enemies with the knife or suppressed amo, then fucking up pretty soon and therefore having a massive shootout with the nazis for the rest of the level. The shooting is a lot of fun due to the graphic organ shots that somehow never stop feeling satisfying and the game gives you plenty of tools to approach the overwhelming number of enemies. The main game has 8 missions that are mostly fun, though the last mission sucked immensely and is a good example of how not to design your level unless you want to annoy your players. The game can be played alone, but it was definitely a hell of a lot more fun playing it with a friend. Platinum was mostly easy aside from the kick in the balls run without saves on the highest difficulty, with the crapload of collectibles being easy but very tedious and tiring to collect especially since some of them can switch locations. Really not much else to say, story was not really that memorable and I doubt that was the games goal anyway, I saw it as an excuse to shoot hundreds of people in needlessly graphic and brutal ways while moving around in a mostly good looking mediterranean setting, and I can respect that. Not sure if I get the sequel that is on its way, maybe if it is on sale later down the line, but I can recommend this game for people who want a reasonably challenging platinum that does take a while to get and encourages you to shoot people in specific ways to unlock upgrades and skins. Now that the 40th milestone is coming, it is time to play Horizon Zero Dawn as my next game.

Chronologically takes place after what happened in Ascension and it's a prequel to GoW 1. The game is fun in its simplicity. It's also pretty easy and short to complete.
