Popular Post WishingLemon
#31: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Easily the best visual novel I've ever played through. I spent 90% of the game only really understanding bits of what was going on, still wondering why they had to be naked inside the mech suits. I thought it was just some kind of fan service, and maybe it was, but they did actually provide a reason eventually. This is one of those games where it just dumps the entire plot on you right at the end. You can piece some of it together yourself as you learn bits and pieces but then fires the rest of the story at you in one go. And some of it's just left for you to read in the files you unlock on the way. I can understand why people wouldn't like this but it's not that bad. It's one of the most beautiful games I've played. The soundtrack is one of those sneakily epic ones that you don't really notice until someone points it out. The combat sections are fun and I like that you can use your imagination to fill in the pew pew bits. Even though it's not graphically detailed, the sound design makes every missile impact feel satisfying and weighty. Because there's not a whole lot of these combat sections you don't really get burned out of them. You can do a couple here and there as you do story until the end, where it locks story until you've done some combat lol The game will make sure you see all of it. Best visual novel I've played. Thought it was expensive but still glad I picked it up. Plat time: 21hrs Edited February 23, 2021 by WishingLemon

postofficebuddy
Platinum #131: Severed Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 9.5/10 A+ game, I can’t recommend it enough. Drinkbox knocked it out of the park with this one. Excellent hack and slash gameplay with a pretty good learning curve, although there’s one fight towards the end that kind of takes it to the extreme. Strangely enough the story kind of reminds me of Gris. It’s a tale about learning to move on.

Popular Post StraightVege
The Final Audience #262 In this very brief puzzler with stylish art design and relaxing gameplay, you manipulate light and shadow to progress. By projecting objects and yourself onto surfaces as shadow, you're able to reach new areas or key items. Early on, it can be as simple as placing a pipe in front of a lantern to cast a makeshift bridge on the wall, but the late game ramps up the complexity significantly. Disappointingly, the concept is too rarely used in interesting ways, with many puzzles being uninspired "hit these switches/levers in this exact order" affairs. I also found what little story is here to be mostly indecipherable. If you want a better game with a similar premise, maybe Contrast is still collecting dust in your PS Plus backlog. Iris does have several clever rooms and beautiful set pieces, though, and it might be worth handing over a couple of bucks just for the appealing aesthetic alone. It was nice to get a break from all of the challenging games I've played over the past few months, at least. MMIB99
Two games related to nightmares. Platinum 18: Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince. Overall an enjoyable game. The environments are great and I liked the puzzles and platforming. The combat unfortunately took a massive step back though because of its repetitive nature. Platinum 19: Little Nightmares II. Very good game, though unfortunately the marketing campaign spoiled half of it. Still, nice story, environments and for the most part gameplay. Combat is the weak point here as well.
Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #307 Assassin's Creed II (PS3) Master Assassin Unlock all trophies. This one is probably going to seem very strange to some people, I know so many people who have ACII as the first platinum they ever earned, whereas it is my 307th, still I'm happy to join the list of 170,000+ platinum achievers. It isn't like I haven't played any other AC games either, there is sort of a story to why I got round to this very recently. I actually played ACII originally pretty much when it came out on the Xbox360, which I haven't touched in years, because the disc tray messed up on it, as has every other Xbox console I've ever owned strangely, but that isn't the point, it would be too easy to ramble about that haha. So basically the first AC game I played on PS3 was actually Brotherhood, which I need to get round to getting the platinum on at some point, I did everything else except the multiplayer way back in 2011.I really like ACII though, but at the time I didn't really want to pick it up and play through it again on a different platform, so I just put it off and put it off, probably for the same reason I've never stacked any games on my profile, it isn't like I'm against the idea, I just get put off by the prospect of having to do the same thing all over again, even if it is something I really enjoyed, I would be a little bit worried, that I would maybe lack motivation and my enjoyment and fondness for that game might get somewhat diminished. I won't mention anything about the story, because anybody who has played it will know just how good it is, but for any people that haven't and have often wondered why Assassin's Creed became the huge franchise that it is, it is down to this game, so do yourself a favour and pick this or the Ezio collection up, even playing it in 2021 it still holds up very well. I guess as classics often do. It does make me want take a couple more trips down memory lane for a few platinum's. For a game that is over ten years old it looks great too even on a PS3, with a very memorable soundtrack. Not quite as memorable as Brotherhood's but that does take some beating to be fair. As far as gameplay goes though the last AC games that I actually played were Origins and then a little dip into the DLC for Black Flag at some point last year. So it was definitely a bit of a shock going back to ACII and not being able to do quite a lot of things you could do in Black Flag and other games that I was sure you could still do in this but you couldn't, which made the combat feel a little clunky. I can't rag on the game for that though I have to judge by when it came out, and I remember at the time thinking they were quite big leaps compared to what the original AC was like. Still, getting to grips with the combat did make me think of that nice green swamp dwelling tennis ball from Star Wars and his words of wisdom " You must Unlearn what you have learned" just like Yoda said, this was pretty much the case. I didn't mind though. I pretty much enjoyed the game all the way through, which is probably why more than 170,000 + people have achieved the platinum. So, in a way leaving it for ten plus years was probably not a bad thing. It is quite easy to dig into modern Ubisoft for having meaningless side content and collectibles but I do think in this game they at least do have somewhat of a story justification, plus some of those Glyph puzzles are super fun. I didn't even mind collecting the feathers again, for the In memory of a certain character I won't mention for spoiler purposes trophy haha (wish they appeared on the map though). As a side note on that character I really think he looks like Mrs Ladybird from the Henry Selick James and the Giant Peach film, or at least some kind of beetle, kept making me chuckle unfortunately. All in all though, it was a very fun time all the way through and ACII stands up really well as one of the very best in the series, it has been said so many times at this point, but Ezio really was such a great memorable character. I can totally see why so many people got hooked on trophy hunting due to this game. It does have a bit of everything, which is always nice. That platinum tile is awesome as well. I always like it when they stand out like that in such a unique way. . Edited February 24, 2021 by rjkclarke
Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #82 - Madden NFL 13 (Vita) Madden NFL 13 Master - Congratulations on earning every Madden NFL 13 trophy! 12,348 Owners - 657 Achievers for a percentage of 5.32% (average completion; 28.06%) Enjoyment; 8/10 Difficulty; 3/10 Trophies; 7/10 (unique tiles, fun requirements, let down by a bad Plat tile) Tom Brady's ratio of rings to fingers; 7/10 Yeeeaaaaaaah booooiiiiii, who doesn't like sportsball?! SPOOOOOOOORTS! *crickets* Oh, right, not that many people in this community. That's actually totally fine, I love how diverse our tastes are! But personally, yeah, I'm a big sports fan. Soccer/futbol is my life, Formula 1 is great when Mercedes doesn't win, American football/handegg gets too much shit from Europeans, ice hockey is pretty cool, and I will watch and IRL-play pretty much anything. Notable exceptions are anything volleyball and watching tennis. And that's coming from a guy who spent most of January watching the world championship of bowls. Not bowling. Bowls. It's pretty rad. Anyway, everyone knows that American football is about sweaty men slamming into eachother in a manner only slightly less embarrassing than something like WWE wrestling or the genre of manga my girlfriend keeps reading, so let me not waste your time writing too much about the gameplay of Madden. Pick a formation for your team, select a player to throw or hand the ball too, try to score all the points. Swap to defence, get the ball back, and so on; you get the drill (or you get drilled by a 250 pound linebacker). If you've played one Madden, you've played them all really although fans of the series will argue over which iteration of the game is the worst as developers EA Tiburon continuously try to outdo themselves in being trash (the latest iteration, Madden 21, is notoriously glitchy). Madden NFL 13 is a special title in the series in that it was EA's first and last try to give American football a home on the Playstation Vita; released on Agust 28th 2012, it sold so desperately poorly that everyone's favourite publisher immediately trashed any plans to bring Madden 14 to the platform. I have no proof but let's be honest, it's EA and almost a decade on from release Madden 13 only just cracked 12,000 owners on PSNP. That figure is despite it being an incredibly easy Plat that only really tests your patience through AI-based RNG - if that doesn't tell you something about how badly the Vita failed (I still blame Sony), then I don't know what will. Still though, the graphics are pretty good for the Vita's standards, all the stadiums look terrific, and player models are passable. Only the grass and crowd look rough, especially the latter from some camera angles that clip through the stands of certain stadiums (noticed it a few times in the Superdome). It's Madden on the go, and I think that's beautiful even if gameplay is a bit basic - that's a problem with the series rather than with 13 on the Vita as it appears on par with console titles (admittedly, I only played 11 on PS3 previously). You get a selection of 30 Trophies including a Plat to unlock, and some requirements here would have been really tough to meet.... were it not for that most pleasant of features that any sports game player will tell you is their favourite part of a given game; sliders. If you hunt Trophies and have played Madden or MLB The Show, there is a 99% chance that you messed with the sliders. More on that later. Hey look, Trophy tiles! Call them generic all you want, but I like these, truth be told - you can tell their grade from their outline (which the lame Plat tile does not follow) but sadly only three teams got dedicated Trophies. The others are named after and feature players, as we see above with the Tom Brady Award and Darelle Revis Award. The former is special to me as I decided to pop it during the Super Bowl (I stayed up despite being European) as my latest level up milestone. This to honour an out-of-this-world athlete who I hated for the longest time.... until the second he went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and I realized that, yes, I just really, really, REALLY hate the Patriots. I was quite pleased to see the Bucs handily win the title this year. Darelle Revis, meanwhile, is the face of arguably the hardest Trophy in the game; you need to return an interception for a length of 100 plus yards for a touchdown. In other words, intercept the opponents in your own endzone and get all the way to theirs without getting your shit slapped. That's where sliders come into play; for every general CPU ability and every individual player in the game, you can adjust a large number of stats that either make them insanely good or horrifically bad. And for Madden NFL 13, you can spend about an hour to turn up the sliders all the way for your favourite team while setting them to 0 for whichever team you pick as opponents. Do this for enough players and eventually your side turns into Gods and the rival team into glorified cripples. This in turn makes almost every Trophy trivial; amazing feats like passing for 520+ yards or keeping the opponents to fewer than 137 yards on offense isn't that hard when your Wide Receivers break every tackle and your defensive linemen break offensive counterparts like my heart in high school - and why not rush for 110+ yards and 4 touchdowns as a QB when every tick on the slider is another pepper up the guy's ass to make him run faster? Gentle manipulation of the sliders makes even Darelle Revis a matter of patience; ensure the opposing QB throws semi-accurately at poor targets and then simply keep the game at your own redzone and wait until you pick him off. Took me maybe an hour, and on my first succesful interception I right away managed to bring it home for an INT. Again, because my players shit jalapeños and the opposition requires zimmer frames to even stand up. I loved this Platinum, loved the experience, and love this game. It's delisted from European PSN stores so I will never be giving up on my copy; it even has Calvin Johnson - who netted me a Fantasy Football league title in 2011 - on the cover to boot. But you know, Madden NFL 13 also makes me sad; it's just another testament to the Vita's failure that a Madden title - usually an excuse to print Dollar bills by the millions - failed to sell on a severely undersupported handheld that was left to die in the crib by a negligent parent (damn you, Sonyyyyyyyyyy). FIFA got four games on the Vita (one with a glitched Plat that was never fixed, thanks EA), Madden got just the one, and NHL never even made it onto the handheld. I would have loved to play a Madden 14, 15, and so on if they were of the same standard as 13 because this is a great little handheld title. But it wasn't meant to be, so I will be content with just the one Platinum and a handheld title that I will return to whenever I get that football itch (officially retiring Madden NFL 11 after just under ten years on my PS3). If you own a Vita, pick up your very own copy of Madden NFL 13 today. And if you don't own a Vita, get one right now dammit! Meanwhile I'm gonna check if the gf is done with her boy love comics.... Popular Post slender_adrian
#60 - Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Time: 72 hours Huh? .... What a game, honestly this is an amazing game, didn't have any problems finishing the game 8 times while getting various emblems, besides the grind this platinum requires its really easy, even the Big Boss playthrough, I liked a lot the story, incredible soundtrack, the gameplay is sweet, you have many ways to complete areas, the cutscences are really entertaining and funny sometimes, I mean, how can you don´t laugh at a monkey smoking? There were a few difficult areas when going for Big Boss emblem, but no big deal. I´ll say the most tedious trophy is Flashback Mania, the rest of the trophies are really simple and straight forward. If you got time definetly go for this game, its worth it.

Popular Post DamagingRob
#509- Shadow of the Tomb Raider Chalice of Torment Earn all Trophies This is gonna be rough. Lol. How can you have loved a game, and had those impressions change so much on a second playthrough? Well, it's because Deadly Obsession is a really stupid difficulty, and only brings this game's flaws straight to the surface. It's not hard. I never died from combat. And died less than 10 times overall. But that constant dread that Lara won't jump or grapple correctly during a platforming sequence, is incredibly nerve wracking. I don't know why these kinds of trophies are a thing, or who enjoys them. But it's definitely not me. It's why I gave up on some games; permadeath just isn't fun. And this game isn't polished enough, making it worse. With checkpoints, the flaws are fine. Lara misses a jump, you just dust her off and try again. But on Deadly Obsession.. with all its unskippable crap, slow pacing, and ending some loooong segments with chase sequences, it seems poorly designed. Besides that, I had a really good time with it. Though I didn't like being forced to wear certain outfits, with all the choices you have available.. One being particularly ugly. Do I have anything good to say? :/ Well, it looks really good. Gorgeous graphics. But I might feel it's the weakest of the trilogy. The first one is definitely still my favorite. Hit all the right notes. Which is why I bought and platinumed it twice, helped some friends with the multiplayer, and wasn't even bothered doing the multiplayer grind twice. I think I have a sick obsession with that game. I don't know what else to say. I did really enjoy my first playthrough, honest. Deadly Obsession just soured my experience a bit. Platinum image: Spoiler I didn't take many screenshots, and often don't think to. But I did take a couple I'll share: Spoiler Dude's just trying to take a bath, and here's Lara standing next to him. Not something really worth complaining about, though. Spoiler This happened on my Deadly Obsession playthrough. Dead body just floating in midair, don't worry about it.

Believe it or not ive put 200 hours on this game The trophies. Ikaruga has straight forward trophies. The 1cc solo is easy enough, the co-op can be annoying since you need to do it through share play . Unless you have a friend that wants to help you out in couch co-op. Hard part is getting S++ on all chapters. Needs time to learn all chapters and get a high score. Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#457 - Far Cry 3 Classic Edition There's not a lot I can say about this game that hasn't already been said. I had an absolute blast playing it and in my opinion it's stood the test of time. I played the PS3 version on a different account years ago before I got into trophy hunting. It was a stunning looking game back then and for me it still is. The story remains enjoyable too plus Vaas is probably one of my favourite video game villains of all time (it's between him and Revolver Ocelot for me). It's just a shame we don't see more of him. I haven't played 4, 5, Blood Dragon, or New Dawn as of yet but this is my favourite Far Cry so far. Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10
Popular Post Bratinov
Plat 54: Fallout 76 Difficulty: 4 Fun: 5 Grind: 7 It's a slightly below average game, which really doesn't respect your time. I was so paranoid that the level 100 trophy wouldn't pop, it would have been a nightmare to slog trough it again to level 100! It also wants you to pay to not be a pain in the ass, but it's not necessary, at all. I've still got to do a second run to get one dlc trophy, and about a month of grinding to get the two dlc rep trophies, but at least those dailies can be done really fast. While there are glitches galore, I only got a gamebreaking one once. (Had to replay the quest 4 times to get past it.) I'm not an mmo guy, so this one was annoying for me, but I'm a sucker for Fallout. It felt good, since I've got no Plat to show for all the time invested in Hitman 2! Popular Post Charizarzar
#135: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order A New Hope Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 More of a mid-tier Star Wars game for me. The lightsaber combat (especially switching between different types) and Uncharted-esque traversal were fun and I'm always up for more single-player SW games, but I really wasn't a fan of the tedium of planet-hopping and honestly would've preferred something more linear with more focus on the story since none of the planets felt particularly alive. Maybe this is just me but I see little point in huge maps if it all feels the same anyway. Also had issues with cutscene stuttering and texture loading, especially on Kashyyyk, as well as slow trophy pops. I actually found even just normal difficulty quite tough at times, more so because the game doesn't have autosave and dying (excluding falling off things) takes you back to the last time you saved at a mediation point, and resting at one of those spots respawns all the enemies on the map. But if you can't be bothered with that, there are no difficulty trophies so you can just play on easy if you like and sail through it. Trophy-wise, this is a pretty simple list. There's no missables but you need to keep an eye out for the terrarium seeds to give them all time to grow. Scanning each new enemy you come across also makes the endgame easier. I'll probably check out the sequel if it comes though. I definitely didn't hate it and seeing Cal as a younger Padawan got me nostalgic for the prequel-era games.
Guest
#199 Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Enjoyment: 7/10, but 10/10 without Infallible Difficulty: 10/10 My favorite multiplayer game is years brought me nearly 150 hours of pure enjoyment, which was almost completely destroyed by Infallible. Pros: -Cutesy, goofy art-styles are always adorable -Floaty and physics-based gameplay is really fun and adds a sense of randomness to every match. This is great for playing casually, but isn't good for a trophy like Infallible. -I'd say roughly 60% of the maps are extremely enjoyable to play through, but the remaining 40% maps are either poorly designed or bluntly bad. -Super fun to play with a group of people, but the servers are still relatively unstable and kick groups out nearly constantly. -All trophies, except Infallible, come naturally and are relatively straightforward. Cons: Take a guess where this is going -Infallible. I mean, obviously. The trophy that sparked a million arguments is, at least to me, inarguably bullshit and this is why: This trophy doesn't fit with the type of gameplay that the game has. Take a game like Super Meat Boy. There's a trophy, apparently, for beating a bunch of stages without dying in a row or doing a bunch of stages without even jumping. While stupidly hard, these trophies make sense for this game because the game at its core is a brutally difficult, very precise platformer. Infallible doesn't fit in with the aroma of Fall Guys. While there is obviously is a rally around the idea of winning and beating everyone, due to the floppy platforming at the core gameplay and the now-randomness of the match-randomizing stuff, winning 5 in a row isn't achievable without some basic luck; not even adding the issues with team games. A trophy like winning 20 games overall is fine because that will come eventually if you're good enough and lucky, but winning 5 in a row is contrary to the spirit of the RNG of the game, not to mention the spirit of fun in general. It's a trophy that doesn't fit in an otherwise incredibly fun game to play. I don't at all mind trophies that are difficult in a general sense, but games like this and Stardew Valley don't need a stupidly difficult trophy because the rest of the game isn't equally like this. -Also, the feeling of getting Infallible in the moment was taken away from me. I had a 4 win streak, disconnected, and then won the next game. The trophy didn't pop, so I had to contact the Dev team and they were nice enough to pop it for me. So it was a hollow victory, but I'm so glad it's out of my life. TL;DR: One of my favorite games of the last few years, nearly ruined by one trophy.
