Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 218! Ys IX: Monstrun Nox King of the Monstrums Another Ys game, and with this one I have all the four games available on PS4 (and also with multiple stacks!) The game is fun, but I think is a step down from Ys VIII (which I think is a masterpiece, where everything is good in that game!). The combat system is the same of the previous chapter (with flash guard and flash move), so this is the fun side of the game. The VIII chapter had a very interesting setting (the island and its exploration, with different areas), while this one is set in a prison city, so there are very few open areas outside of the city. There are also less bosses (compared to the VIII), but some of them are taken from the previous games (and my favourite was the one at the end of chapter 5, especially with the camera that zooms on the boss while you're charging it! ). Exploring the city and looking for the azure petals, graffiti and chests is surely fun with the different Monstrum gifts, but here the framerate isn't really stable and sometimes it drops down when there are the battles against the enemies. Then the music. I found it good, but not really great, especially aftre the VIII ost (which was amazing!). The boss music, Monstrum spectrum, fits these battles, but seems short and without a proper loop, because there's an abrupt cut at the end of the track and it simply restarts. And then you reach this amazing track, Desert after tears, in a open area! By the way, I really love this artwork! Also the final boss, Anima Ergastulum, is really amazing, and you can apply the same thing to the ending music, Dandelion's journey. This one isn't sad as Everlasting transeunt (from VIII) but is seems brighter. Also, this game took almost every side activity from the VIII (except fishing), so you have some kind of strange raids where you need to defend a pillar (while in VIII you were defending a village) or gather "Lacrimae". Then you have the "side chapters" where you control another character at the end of the chapter, and I found these ones quite annoying, especially for the cheap deaths due to the traps set almost everywhere... These are completely different from the Dana chapters. But this time, there's no trophy related to the 100% item collector! Actually it was fun collecting every single piece of weapon, armor and accessory Finally, platinum screenshot with a different title screen! In the end, I found this new chapter of Adol's adventures good and fun, but far away from the previous chapter, where I enjoyed every single moment on the cursed Seiren Island.
Popular Post Im-not-him-slim
MLB The Show 21 Platinum #51 Game is a complete shitshow with the server issues, stats not counting, equipment not working correctly and too many others to mention. The fact SDS is not saying much and not replying to support tickets is another huge issue. Eventually it should get sorted but until then there will be a lot of growing pains.
Popular Post Sylvanticore
Terminator Resistance [PS4] #32: No problemo Acquire all the trophies. IMy last few platinums were from much higher rated games than this but to me this was a really good game, I've always enjoyed Terminator related things and while some of the games have been a really big miss I feel this one deserves some love and attention from people, extremely easy platinum but that doesn't take away that I feel people should play this more (even if the platinum is at 69%). Next up.. I dunno, maybe i'll actually finished FF7 Remake soon.

Popular Post JoaLoft
#250 - Ghost of Tsushima First of all, I owe Ghost of Tsushima a mea culpa. When the game's release drew near, I was unsure whether I would enjoy the full experience. The open world activities didn't seem intriguing, and I feared Jin's adventure would end up feeling a bit disappointing as if it retreaded familiar ground. Am I glad that Ghost of Tsushima proved me very wrong. The year is 1274 and the location is the Japanese island of Tsushima. You take on the role of Jin Sakai, a Lord of Clan Sakai and a samurai who barely survives the impending invasion of the Mongols, as part of an 80-man suicide defense line. The Mongols succeed in setting foot on Tsushima, their main goal being the invasion and conquest of Japan, and as such are using this first island as a stepping stone. Jin recovers from the Mongol beach landing and travels the island gathering the remaining allies to drive the Mongols back, applying unorthodox tactics. With newfound determination, he sets out to help the desperate and innocent inhabitants, slaughtering the invaders as a defiant samurai, and striking cold-blooded from the shadows as the terrifying, ever-elusive Ghost of Tsushima. Time for a small history intermission. Interesting fact is that Jin Sakai never existed; he's a fictional character. And the historical invasion of Tsushima by the Mongols went off without a hitch: the small group of samurai were quickly defeated and the island conquered, despite one samurai named Sukesada who reportedly and impressively cut down 25 enemy soldiers in individual combat. It is when the Mongol army made its move on the main island of Japan that they were taken by surprise and defeated - twice, once in 1274 and once in 1281 - by a ruthless storm. During both conquest attempts, a typhoon destroyed their fleet and left them decimated, possibly rendering them to believe Japan is protected by the gods. After those two attempts, the Mongols never dared attack Japan again in history, with their naval forces left in tatters. Jin Sakai is the physical embodiment of those storms, stopping the Mongols dead in their tracks and saving Japan. But more on that in a bit. Everything in this masterpiece oozes admiration for Japanese culture, and it shows how everything clicks: the wind direction indicates your next destination in your main quest and side quests (just as the wind guided the storms to destroy the actual Mongol army), you can collect loads of armor sets with unique perks and hats, katana sheaths, color patterns for both outfits and weapons, and level up Jin's abilities to allow him in handling different stances and using historically accurate weapons to defeat his adversaries. Combat as a samurai feels incredibly exhilarating and fluid, like a lethal dance of righteousness. Wiping the blood off your katana and sheathing it after battling overwhelming forces just never grows old. There are fox dens to find, shrines to discover through platforming, hot springs to relax in, custom haikus to write, amazing samurai duels to partake in, legendary tales to experience, ... each adding in their own way to the experience of Jin Sakai growing stronger in his mission to rid the island of its invaders. The possibility to play a flute and influence the weather as is being able to bow in respect, doesn't add much in terms of gameplay, but adds so much to the immersion. Technically, the game is equally impressive: the loading times are very short on a base PS4, for instance. Its story builds up well to a very impactful ending, which left me with chills and goosebumps. As the credits roll, you reflect on Jin's personal journey, his inevitable fate, how it has shaped him throughout the invasion, and shaped the population's future on the island of Tsushima. A wonderful touch during the credits was the inclusion of the message: "In Memory of the Fallen Souls Who Gave Their Lives in the Battle of Tsushima". Just goes to show you how much respect went into crafting this entire experience, which will now go down as one of my favorite games ever made. A feat not easily attained. As such, the game functions as a love letter to Tsushima. The reason why this game is so fantastic, is that the island itself is absolutely breathtaking to explore, and is featured alongside Jin in a leading role. I do not exaggerate when I state that the Golden Forest in Izuhara, the southern region, is the most beautiful forest I've ever seen in a game. Not to mention the sunbathing coastal cliffs at dawn or the flower-filled meadows gently cradling in the wind. The soundtrack is incredible, peaceful as you stroll through the countryside and badass at times when you face off against a dozen Mongol mongrels (now there's a tongue twister for you). The Photo Mode? I could share an entire album of photos I took. Every time I boot the game, it takes less than an hour before I'm snapping artistically stunning shots. I can't help myself when Sucker Punch provides such a rich toolbox in such a charming open world. I've never had access to a Photo Mode this extensive. And finally, as if that wasn't enough: there's a New Game Plus option included, as well as a free multiplayer expansion to experience in coop, allowing you to dive into legends based on Japanese mythology and folklore. The Japanese gaming community has lauded Sucker Punch for creating such an impressive Japanese tale as a western studio, and what is even more endearing: thanks to their achievements and efforts, the two leading directors of Ghost of Tsushima have recently been awarded with the honorable title of Tourism Ambassadors of the actual island of Tsushima by its local government. My gaming calendar is jam-packed - it always is, all year round. But I will make time to play through the amazing craftwork that is Ghost of Tsushima again in the near future, on New Game Plus, and immerse myself fully then by replaying it in Japanese. What a delicious treat that will be. Also, you can pet the foxes. You. Can. Pet. The. Foxes!! Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! Remember how I described Tsushima looking magical at times? The vibrant display of colors and jaw-dropping vistas are the reason why none of the trophies felt like a chore to complete. You'll get the obvious story trophies, you will need to complete a lot of side quests, discover and complete all the locations' activities such as the fox dens and the shrines, upgrade your sword and destroy all Mongol encampments, among other trophies. This translates to a lot of traveling and exploring, but the visual appeal and the captivating atmopshere on the island make it anything but tedious. All locations work as fast-travel points which also helps, and if you think you're missing a few spots on the map: skill points can be invested to guide you to all activities of specific sorts in the open world. I never thought I'd say this, but Ghost of Tsushima may be the first open world game I've played with a trophy list that is not dominated by drawn-out achievements. Not that clearing the island of all activities doesn't sound unappealing, mind you. It's thanks to the spirit of Japanese culture they've been able to captivate and bring to life so well in Tsushima that it all feels organic. Just one of many ways in which Ghost of Tsushima has been able to leave me pleasantly surprised and fulfilled as both a player and a lover of culture. In true Japanese form, there's no better way to end my platinum post than with a personal haiku, written with Ghost of Tsushima in mind: Honor and beauty Balance in all, delicate Guiding us forward. Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #450 Rage 2 Milestone 450th Uncommon: 21.01% Difficulty: 3/10. Enjoyment: 10/10. Challenge: 9/10. Music: 8/10. Favorite Rage 2 Weapon: Hyper Cannon. Widespread/Violence/Explosion: 9/10. Genre: Shooter, RPG, Action, Adventure, Open World, Wasteland, Death, Blood and Gore. Grind Difficulty: 8/10. Platinum Time: 1 week and 2 days. Intro: I had a splendid and excellent time on Rage 2 and slaughtering enemies out in the wasteland and inside buildings as well. Bringing down all tasks was easy and simple in most parts and dealing with giant fucking ass monsters was ugly and easy as fucked. The Wasteland was 3x bigger and pretty much you can experienced and see it for yourself. The story mode was indeed very short as expected to be in Rage 2 but I did really enjoyed from start to finished and it was very good and it doesn't take a real genius to figured it out how long for story mode to be completed. This was real hard work for me to contain everything I needed to do and yes it does get dull and boring sometimes but I do keep my balanced and strength at a very high stable so to speak. Now as for the DLC difficulty trophies, i've decided to abstain from that another time and come back to finished it off. I'll explain the DLC packs and others down here including the Hyper Cannon. Rise of the Ghosts DLC: Yes it is indeed a short story DLC milk on the run trophy pack. Gonna say though, seeing those enemies enhancing with feltrite embedding onto their body makes me sick. I pretty much skewer all those ass enemies down to the ground and made them explode. Terrormania: Yep you heard me right, another 1 hour and 20 minutes easy trophies. This is the best farming spot to grind out feltrite for upgrading your weapons and others included in the mix. Enemies spawn out rapidly so fast, faster then my wifi internet connecttion. Getting the Sword of Transitus proved extremely helpful and mowing down enemies all in one hit. Bosses takes a big damage. Spy Drones and Balloons: Here's the thing what I disliked the most, Spy Drones were really annoying and takes to much time for long time consumption when going from place to placed and weed out the findings. Balloons they spawn randomly in the air anywhere from the wasteland and the swamp much like the Spy Drones as well. They're ok to get them and slightly reduced to stress to find em all. I used my Icarus to fly around the entired area of the wasteland, swamp and other places if needed be. Got of em all done and fucking done and I am happy for it. I will list them the best screenshots i've captured so far including the Platinum Trophy and the Hyper Cannon. Rage 2 Platinum Trophy. Spoiler Come on and Slam! Spoiler Gonevoy! Spoiler This is the Hyper Cannon and maxed out all upgrades for each tier. Spoiler Overall: I am very happy I got my 450th platinum milestone done and now I can begin my dangerous UR milestone platinum at once! Highly recommended for this game. Next 500th platinum and 7th UR is right down below. Spoiler

Popular Post arcanehornet_
Platinum #336~ Dead Island: Definitively Boring Edition As much as I wanted to like it, this game just sucks. After Dying Light I was excited to play another game from the same developers. But no. Essentially this is just the shitty prototype of Dying Light without the fun parkour mechanics and the gameplay. I set myself up for disappointment. So why does this game suck so much? -It’s BORING. The worst sin a game can commit imo is be boring. This game has gameplay mechanics which consists of you whacking zombies on the head with whatever you found. This is boring and no fun whatsoever. The quests are also boring as sin. Most of the game consists of fetch quests. There are sometimes fetch quests within fetch quests as well. Like you’re doing a main mission fetch quest, then halfway through you meet a guy who gives you another fetch quest. This turn the game into a slog going from point a to point B. Fun! -There’s nothing definitive about this game. The game runs like shit and looks like an early PS3 game. Frame drops are common and the game cannot maintain a consistent 30fps. About the plat: it was annoying. I’d rather not go into detail but the “there and back again” trophy sucked and so did “Right 4 life” for completing act 1 with all 4 characters. I also did the arena mode dlc which was the only place where i actually had fun in this game. Fast paced combat with dozens of zombies coming at you. If only the main game were like this. Overall this is not a good game, I struggle to find any redeeming qualities for it. Fun: 3/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Time: 30ish hours

It's sad in my opinion that they don't evolve the ideas they put here and bring it to the sequences (With exception of the QTE and fighting scenes) I wanted so bad a game were we are really able to explore freely explore Konoha and all of this vast shinobi world, doing great missions and etc...
