Popular Post eigen-space
Platinum #136 - Heavy Rain (PS4) 10.90% Rarity Difficulty - 3.5/10, Time Spent - ~30 Hours , Enjoyment 8/10 Heavy Rain is the story of Ethan Mars, a father whose son has been kidnapped by a serial killer known as the Origami Killer. The killer has laid out several dangerous and gruesome tasks for Ethan to complete in order to reveal the location of where his son is being held. The gameplay of Heavy Rain is QTE-based. Everything is just walking around the areas the game puts you in and interacting with the objects and scenery. You'll go through some more complex scenes-- like fighting or driving-- but it is all interacted with through QTEs. The game allows you to pick different levels of difficulty for the QTEs. I played the game on the easiest difficulty and still thought the QTEs were relatively challenging. The plot of this game is EXCELLENT. It is what makes the game worth playing. You won't be getting much out of the graphics, music, or gameplay, but you will get a ton out of the story. It's really hard to elaborate more without spoiling things, but the story is just amazing. There were some things I didn't like about the game. One trophy, Kamikaze, required me to replay a QTE sequence for 2-hours straight because you have to execute it perfectly; in a game that is otherwise very easy, this trophy seemed rather out of place. The other thing that bothered me was the controls for walking; you had to hold down the R2 button while navigating with the left stick; I wish it would have just let you walk with the left stick instead of making you also hold down a button. Some of the QTEs were hard to do as well.... there was one time where I was holding down one of the triggers, the O button and the Square, and then it also made me press the triangle... I literally had to do that with my tongue. One scene I didn't care for was a sex scene where you had to QTE your way through it... it just felt gross to do that. Lastly, I understand the game is set in Boston but the accent for saying "Origami" got on my nerves really quick. Despite my couple complaints, I would highly recommend playing this game.

Popular Post DarkSamurai69
#339 Nex Machina Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 6.5/10 A great twin-stick shooter from Housemarque. I enjoyed the fast pace nature of this and getting in a rhythm while dealing with bullets, lasers, and enemies charging you was exhilarating. This game gives a fair challenge but it definitely could have been harder if you had to beat the game on the highest difficulty. Fortunately, you only have to clear the first world on Master. Can't wait to try out Returnal but first I need to get a PS5!

Popular Post Pinguim_Ocupado
#47 - Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Perfect Storm MasterYou've acquired all trophies. Good game, some nice extras and missions, QTE goes from 1 for 100 if compared to the first game from the series. Gameplay during the fighting is pretty good now! I didn't enjoyed the transictions they did when you're going from a point to another... just some pictures with the 3D Models put on these.. nah The "Which name shall I use?" was the worst trophy. 30 fights with each character was a pain. At least there isn't so much characters such as in Storm 4 lol Anyway, i had a lot of fun playing this one!Total Score: 8/10 Edited May 6, 2021 by Pinguim_Ocupado
Popular Post driscio
#35 Persona 5 (PS4) At time of posting this is the longest single game grind I have done, without really taking a break of more than a few days, to date with the final save file time clocking in at 96 hours 11 minutes. Time to beat the base game was 86 hours 27 and then roughly another 10 to grind and get to the Secret Boss in NG+. I'd attempted a full run through before, back during lockdown in April 2020, but got burnt out and also pulled into playing FF14 from scratch again (I got back into that again on the PS4 this year but it will be a long time before that plat pops), the guide I was following was also subpar and had missed a few things so that run was dead about 60 hours in. This time was different, the guide here on PSNP is incredible. Seriously it's a work of art as much as it is an informative guide and @Optinooby deserves a damn medal. Overall this game's story is great and I very much enjoyed seeing where it all ended up especially towards the end where all the treads that are hinted at via the scenes with Sae finally come together. Finally I'll close this with my favorite moment on the run. Everybody going for the Plat in this game knows what a headache Passionate Listener can be. The sequel to True Rissette Fan, it requires you to listen to 250 unique lines of Futabas navigation dialog with almost every battle action/effect for every character having a line. I'd been using a spreadsheet to try and keep track of it and by the end of the mementos boss battle I had 245 lines noted down. Knew I'd missed a few but thought that was a good guess and had been farming some of the lines that only show up for status effects that happen in the last boss fight. Eventually they were just repeating so I had resigned to reloading a safety save in Mementos proper to farm lines that way but on the bosses final massive attack Futaba used her Final Guard ability which has 2 lines associated with it. And I'd already heard one of them. So as she is screaming "Noooooo!" and saves me from certain death I am shouting "YEEEES!" as the trophy pops in the corner. Immense satisfaction. Good work Phantoms Thieves, see you again soon in Strikers.
Popular Post KabbageDetective
#68 - Skylanders Spyro's Adventure - True Portal Master "Unlock all other trophies." PSNP Platinum - 8.03%, Overall Platinum - 1.2% Well, Skylanders, who remember these things? I remember when you couldn't escape them and ever kid under 13 owned some (except me because I was, y'know, so cool), there was annual releases across every imaginable platform, a Netflix show, a trading card game, a garbage barge's worth of merchandise and probably a go karting spinoff in there somewhere, and then poof, just disappeared, at least mostly. But hey, this is the cycle of any popular Activision title (Guitar Hero says "hi") and Skylanders is no different. Now I was what most people would consider a little outside of the age bracket for this game when it came out but after a few years I decided to pick it up on Xbox 360 on the cheap to see what the fuss was about. I thought it was okay and left it at that. Then, 6 years later, 22 year old me saw a big bundle of figures and the first two games for pretty cheap and thought I'd give it another shot, and I was genuinely quite surprised. This is no masterpiece but if I was 8 or so when this game came out I'd totally be a sucker for it (hell, I was for U.B. Funkies, if anyone remembers them). Difficulty - 3/10 Whilst I am nothing short of ashamed to admit that there was a single moment in the search for this platinum trophy of a children's video game where I actually got frustrated, namely 'Tag me if you can! " and it's annoying tendency to send you back to the beginning of its respective level if you fail, but the rest of this game is an absolute breeze. Not in a boring way however, least not that I find. Game Enjoyment - 7.5/10 An actually pretty fun, albeit simplistic adventure game with an engaging gameplay loop and satisfying progression marred by a predatory monetisation scheme (not that it matters to me anymore, now that Skylanders are dirt cheap), repetitive level design and characters that do NOT know when to shut up. I guess we have something in common. Trophy Enjoyment - 7/10 A pretty straightforward list with some lightly challenging, level specific trophies sprinkled in to mix things up. Nothing to write home about but nothing to tear your hair out at (mostly) either. All in all a solid platinum to obtain and one that I'm almost entirely not ashamed to display! I'm sure I'll do Giants soon. Edited May 7, 2021 by KabbageDetective Misspelt game title

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#357 - Habroxia 2 There Is An End Earn all other Trophies. While the first game was a nice little distraction, I noticed a jump in quality with the sequel pretty much immediately. It's a more complex game with new mechanics and what not, but that only serves to enhance the moment to moment gameplay. I liked having the choice between different sub weapons and being able to upgrade my stats in whatever order I chose. It really lets you tailor the experience to what you're comfortable with, and you can even sell the upgrades if you want to change things up or make it more difficult on yourself. The plat is pretty easy for the most part as you can just grind for credits and use them to make yourself more powerful when you're struggling with a certain level. The toughest part for me was probably the Boost Rush mode which is basically a minute or so long section of dodging obstacles (one hit is death). It wasn't too crazy though. It was a pretty chill experience overall and I'm always happy to support Lillymo Games and Colin Moriarty by purchasing their stuff. ?

Popular Post Maddawgmax
Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered #97 - Platinum Trophy (Only slightly worse than their constant use of Julius Caesar as the plat name) I’ve gone through the entire game list since I finished Valhalla earlier this year. Even though I was starting to get bored to death after doing Black Flag then this (very similar), i rather enjoyed Rogue. I just jumped into a few minutes of Unity and the gameplay is absolutely an insane adjustment after spending the last 3 months or so playing the originals.

Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #319 Manual Samuel (PS4) HOLY FECES! Unlock all the Trophies in Manual Samuel Manual Samuel might be a hard one for me to talk about. It isn't that its bad or anything like that, its more the fact that this game is so unique - so it becomes a little difficult to really compare or even contrast it with something else. The closest thing I can think of is QWOP; if anyone is unfamiliar I'll leave a link here to a Rooster Teeth video, made about it years ago. Manual Samuel itself though is VERY different from your usual video game, I suppose you could make a fleeting comparison to Octodad as well from what I've seen of gameplay footage of that. I've personally not played it. The actual gameplay itself is very interesting.Almost all of the controller's buttons end up being assigned a specific part of Sam's movement, you'd think this would lead to some really messy and confusing gameplay, but its actually very rhythmic. Weirdly I found myself twitching my leg muscles in time with the character walking, to the point where I started to get cramp at one point, strange what that does to your brain. Actually I can think of one thing to slightly compare it to, but in a fairly off key way I suppose and that is David Cage games. He seems to be under the impression that most people who play video games also have extra digits or limbs. I mean some of the weird button combinations you are asked to sequentially press in those games are ludicrous sometimes. Manual Samuel does at least succeed really well at that element, wherein all the button presses make sense and are pretty much doable once you get the knack of it. Thank goodness too, because otherwise those time trials you have to do for the platinum would have been even more of a nightmare. I'm not sure I can say Manual Samuel has an entirely unique art style, its highly stylised yes, but not necessarily particularly unique. I'm not sure if it was deliberate but aspects of it reminded me of a high budget mid 00's Flash Animation. I think its a little similar to the art style that Daedalic Entertainment uses, which definitely does have its charm. I'm quite fond of it myself. I can't really mention anything about the games Sound Design or anything of that nature, because I didn't notice a single thing about it. The story is one of the area's where this game really shines, its very funny and the games physics themselves just adds to that humour. The narration throughout the game is particularly funny. I don't think its as funny as the writers clearly think it is though. I think you hear the word FECES in this game at least a hundred times. I'm not being a sourpuss either, the word by itself is just not that funny. and they really REALLY want you to laugh every time Death says "Oh HOLY FECES", or "OH FECES" I think by its overuse it sort of loses any power to be funny after a while. Death himself, is a fairly annoying character, but I think that's deliberate so it does seem to be quite well realised. All of the characters themselves are quite memorable considering how short the game is. Due to the fact it is short though, I can't really mention a whole lot else without actually diving into plot details, which I never like to do in case people want to remain spoiler free. Manual Samuel is one of those games where going for the trophies can and does really enhance the experience, because you get to see some of the weird alternate dialogue paths and strange detours that can happen if you do things a slightly different way, doing a task badly for example. Ultimately you end up seeing lots of funny and unusual things when trying to collect all of the games collectibles the hashtags. There are a few time trial trophies here, which to be perfectly honest aren't that hard apart from one or two; once you get used to how odd but satisfying the control scheme is. I laughed out loud several times doing one of two of them - especially the ones that involve staircases, because to go faster the fastest option is to just throw yourself down the stairs and the way you tumble is pretty hilarious. You have to do two playthroughs which might put some people off, but one of them has to be done Co-Op so to be honest I'd grab a friend to do it if you can because you'd probably have a really good time. (I couldn't because here in the UK at least where I am we still can't go inside other peoples houses.) There are unique lines of dialogue the narrator dishes out too, which dig the player out for skipping the cutscenes that actually do make a second playthrough just as funny. Another unique element to the Co-Op is that you can assign who controls what button so you could really shake it up by having one person control one leg and one arm etc, any sort of shambolic combination would probably end up being a fun time. I think the trophies definitely make the most of everything in the game which is always a plus I think. This isn't the easiest game in the world to recommend, its definitely good, maybe even great but I could imagine some people would just immediately go NOPE when faced with the really bizarre controls. I had a really fun time with it, but I also had no expectations going into it. I always like when a game can pleasantly surprise you like that. I don't actually know how I even got the game, I'm fairly sure it was in an indie bundle that I bought years ago to get a different game, but I can happily say I'm glad that I played it, it was a pretty enjoyable eight or so hours and despite the whole FECES thing it never outstayed its welcome in that time. Popular Post Deluziion90
#395 - Returnal HeliosCollect all trophies My god this game was a MASSIVE grind to platinum. The difficulty never scared me when PowerPyx announced the 8.5 or even 10/10 but reading collectables spawn in RNG rooms could be horrible.. and so it was. The story started really nice and in my believe I never died untill the very end. 1 story death 1 death on the final boss and a total of 11 deaths when I reached the platinum. The platinum time took me 58hrs and 31mins. 8hrs for story all the other hours was rushing each level over and over with a big prayer the correct room would spawn with the collectables I needed for the Survey trophies. For a grind like this rating it would be very hard imo. 7/10 for the story 0/10 for the grind Overall rating a 4.5/10 max if you're going for the platinum! 4.5/10 most. Asking €75 for this was a big let down DON'T BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HATE RANDOM MAPS AND THERE'S A CHANCE YOU'RE DOING THE SAME RUN FOR 50-100+ TIMES JUST FOR 1 COLLECTABLE
