Popular Post EverythingOnFire
#27 Good game that probably got a bit too much hate. Obviously great looking, with good atmosphere and music. The story could be predictable at times, but I thought it was well told. It's a shame that they couldn't have made it a few hours longer, and that they didn't make the gunplay more engaging. Had those 2 things happened, I'm sure both critics and gamers would have been more forgiving, and we probably could have had a sequel. Knights with extended lifespans battling werewolves and vampires in an alternate history steampunk London. How cool is that? I want more. ?

Popular Post sephiroth4424
#262 + #263 Demon's Souls (ps3 NA + AS versions) Toughest Soul Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Difficulty: 3/10 On a mission to have all Soulsborne games completed, now i'm down to one. But that will have to wait until i get a ps5. But anyway, DS hasn't aged at all in my eyes. Still a masterpiece, and still a pain to farm the cursed Pure Bladestone. In the EU version i remember it took me 7-8 hours. In NA it dropped after 12 hours but RNGesus took pity on me in the AS version and i got it after one hour. Wouldn't mind to see the Remake on ps4, i would have the chance to plat it another two times!!!

Popular Post whodeygamer
#19: God of War This is my first time playing a God of War game. The moment I saw that it was coming to PS Now, I knew I needed to give it a try. Given how much praise this game has gotten, my expectations were high, and for the most part, I was not disappointed. Combat was fun, good story, excellent graphics, and rpg elements with armor were all positives in my eyes. The main things I didn’t like about the game were the atrocious map and the emo Atreus section. Other than those 2 things, I had a lot of fun. I originally didn’t plan on making the platinum Father and Son trophy my 1000th trophy, but this month’s addition of Undertale changed things.
Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#499 - Super Destronaut DX-2 (PS4) This is basically Space Invaders with a modern twist and it's an extremely enjoyable way to experience a game that for many people may have been "before my time" as the saying goes. Then again, younger players may find this game boring. I don't know. It's an attractive game to look at with eye popping neon colours complimenting the retro style audio. I was a big fan of the arcade style presentation. What sets this apart from standard Space Invaders is the inclusion of gameplay modes with a twist such as Hardcore Mode, Time Attack, Bullet Mode (This one was my favourite) and Time Rush. The inclusion of these gameplay modifiers alone make it a step up from the first Super Destronaut game itself. A more varied trophy list wouldn't have gone amiss for this one as I was quite happy to continue onwards with challenge mode after finishing the first two worlds. As I say, I thought this game was a lot of fun. Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 2.5/10

Popular Post JoaLoft
#266 - Scarlet Nexus (PS5) It's been a while since I nailed another platinum, but now that the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are officially closed (and I've been watching a lot of disciplines in action), I was able to dedicate a bit more to my PS5 and finally complete my next trophy list. Scarlet Nexus is a science-fiction action RPG, taking place in an alternative version of Earth where monsters threaten the future of mankind and augmented soldiers use super powers to keep the monster population in check. A so-called "Extinction Belt", a toxic layer surrounding the Earth's atmosphere, drops these monsters frequently, also known as "Others". You take on the role of either Yuito or Kasane, two members of the OSF (Other Suppression Force) who will play a pivotal role in uncovering what the Others really are, where the Extinction Belt came from, and how they can resolve the entire situation. You experience the story from one of two perspectives with these two protagonists, fully piecing everything together once you complete both sides of the story. Translation: you're looking at two playthroughs if you want to learn everything there is to learn about the world of Scarlet Nexus and its mysteries. Yuito and Kasane don't just see events unfold from their own perspectives and split up which results in different story chapters, they have different combat styles, allowing you to experience combat differently as you play through the game. They also both have the Psychokinesis power to hurl objects to enemies and weaken them. In combination with the powers of other secondary protagonists, who use powers such as Hypervelocity, Invisibility, Teleportation, Duplication, Pyrokinesis, Electrokinesis and so on, you can create incredibly deadly moves to swiftly eliminate any threats. Its terminology is in sync with the entire theme of connectivity and synchronization, as you'll be finishing Others with "Brain Crush" (a flashing finisher move) and go into overdrive using your Brain Field (a temporary super mode where you're exponentially more powerful and invincible for a small time). All fancy words for the different tools you have at your disposal. Suffice it to say: combat is the star of Scarlet Nexus's show and plays beautifully. The more skills you unlock in your "Brain Map" (Scarlet Nexus lingo for the skill tree), the better it gets. The story ends up being pretty good too! It does take a while to build up to something memorable - we're talking a few hours at least. Seeing as how this looks and sounds like an interactive anime show and you're dealing with what are essentially cadets at the OSF, there's some high school drama included as well, with young protagonists learning about each other, one having a crush on someone else, friendships developing slowly over time etc. Those downtimes where you're learning more about the characters don't just help level up your connection to them and unlock passive bonuses to those respective powers, but they also bring the plot about the Others and the Extinction Belt to a big halt. The pacing suffers a lot from these intermezzos early on, but it ends up being less of an issue once the story ramps up and the really juicy plot twists unfold. An unmistakable con are the sidequests. They're absolutely boring. Granted, you don't have to do these and they yield irrelevant rewards - mostly, unless you're going for the ultimate weapons of each companion and protagonist. They usually consist of killing specific Others with a particular move or power. And playing from both sides sounds interesting at first, but the parts where Yuito and Kasane are united and cutscenes are generally the same, I skipped, because they seemed like a waste of time in my second run. In that aspect, the game feels like it outstays its welcome maybe a bit in your second playthrough, but nonetheless, you'll need to play both sides if you want to learn about the fate of every single character. Conclusion? Pretty good game! Not a must-have, but still a solid action RPG with particularly a great combat factor. Most frustrating trophy - Owner of an Excellent Brain The trophy list requires you to fully play the game from start to finish on both sides, bond with all characters on both sides, gift them every gift possible to help boost said bonds, finish 30 boring sidequests (spread over both playthroughs, thankfully), and complete a whole lot of combat-related trophies. There's definitely some busywork involved. The one I went for, however, is "Owner of an Excellent Brain" which pops once you have unlocked every skill in the skill tree. I hear you say: "what is the problem exactly? This is typical trophy fodder, so many games have a similar trophy." And you're right. It wouldn't have been such an issue, were it not for the fact that you have to grind extra XP for several more hours after finishing that second playthrough which already felt like it dragged on at times. Most of all: it's useless to level up all the way to level 80 (!) to just unlock everything. By that time, you've already completed the story twice and you've uncovered the entire plot. There's nothing left. No post-ending secret bosses, no secret areas, nothing. A waste of time, essentially. The combat pulled me through this, thankfully. A testament to how strong that aspect of Scarlet Nexus really is.
Lordguwa
platinum #537 Guard Duty (ps4) completed in 3 hours and 24 minutes platinum rarity 82.84% had to do a bit of searching in my backlog for worthy long games. think i'll go for Marvel's Spiderman (ps4). The DLC and New Game plus will easily increase gameplay hours to qualify for a long game (original spiderman without DLC is 25 hours to complete).

Popular Post madbuk
#430 - Gris Going into this I heard heard nothing but positivity and praise, which was rather exciting. Celeste rekindled my interest in 2D platformers and I was excited to play another of the great ones that everyone loves... unfortunately, I don't think this game is really anything special. It's not bad at all, it's very stylish and presents the story well, but the gameplay I wasn't particularly fond of - the running speed of your character is very slow, and some chapters (especially the last) drag on for longer than I'd have liked really. There's some great variety across each stage though which keeps the experience somewhat fresh, so it definitely has that going for it. Overall this was disappointing but I'm not upset to have played it, it was still worth trying out. It's just likely one of those games I'll have forgotten about in a few months entirely.
MooseSketts
Platinum #168 Restless Night Shortly after obtaining the platinum in my last post I fell out of trophy hunting to take care of a family member (and to play Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries on the PS3). That being said, I figured I'd ease myself back into the hunt with some EZ games. (Now I'm just waiting for Hades to come out on the PS4.)

Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#500 - Grand Theft Auto V (PS3) + Grand Theft Auto Online: Heists 100% MILESTONE PLATINUM Finally earned this one after almost 8 years of playing it on and off. The reason for it taking so long is simply that I was never a huge fan of GTA Online. I'd play it for a couple of hours here, a couple of hours there and get bored quickly. The news of the impending server shutdown for the PS3 version this December spurred me into action and I decided to grind it out since I had all of the single player trophies and thought it would make for a great milestone platinum. Thankfully this was possible because I'd already earned the Run Like The Wind trophy some years previously and this trophy is no longer obtainable legitimately since Rockstar have long since disabled the bounties features. I had a surprise when I got stuck into it properly as I actually found myself enjoying it and I had fun getting the heist trophies too. I enjoyed it that much I'm now tempted to do it all over again on the PS4 or PS5 version. Popular Post Viscera1900
#314 - DOOM: Eternal Heavy Metal "Earn All Trophies" Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Completion time: 33 hours (in game) / 1 week, 4 days (PSNP) I believe this is my first time playing a video game on 120 FPS. Doom: Eternal's gameplay loop is fun and addictive. The soundtrack is on spot; it made me feel like a badass, especially during intense battles. Doom: Eternal's online MP is different kind of multiplayer game compared to Doom (2016). It's really fun, but it often gets pretty laggy for me. Trophy wise; most of trophies are easy to obtain, nothing too difficult and hair tearing, except those MP trophies. MP is fun, but those MP trophies can kiss my left nut.

I have been playing DOA5 since the free ver. of DOA5 Ultimate and Last Round was the version I decided to get the paid ver. and try my hand at the plat which was around the time Naotora Ii from Samurai Warriors was added to the game as the semi-last DLC character(and last DLC character I bought). -4 years forward to then I tried to do Combo Challenge and Tutorial- After trying Naotora's Combo Challenge, I finally cleared it(did try other characters's Combo Challenges but Naotora's turned out to be the easiest Combo Challenge for me) Platinum Screenshot
