Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #287: LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The NA Stack Difficulty: 3/10 Playtime: 17 hours, 58 minutes Enjoyment: 6.5/10 Just stacking LEGO Indy 2 here. Not my favourite LEGO game at all, but considering I'm a huge Indy buff I couldn't resist the stack. While neither playthrough was stricken with any of the trophy-popping related glitches I was warned about (beginning to suspect the guide writer just had a run of bad luck), this one was even more unstable than the EU version and caused my console to freeze at least ten times. It's a little too short for the various unwelcome changes to the formula to really become an issue, so ain't much to do but cue Williams' amazing scores on Spotify and chase after that fortune and glory, kid. Still the only way Crystal Skull could be made halfway enjoyable... and you get to kill Shia LaBeouf any time you feel like it. (I still want a remaster of LEGO Indy 1, too.)
Popular Post The_ThunderIord
#39: Metal Gear Rising Revengeance This game is just one of the best on the PS3 (In my opinion). I'm not a fan of the MGS series as I hate the infiltration games ? MGR has a very good soundtrack, one of the best (Especially the Sundowner OST ?) Spoiler The gameplay is very easy to understand but pretty difficult to master, as some bosses are very tough and will give you hard times. There is one negative aspect in this game, it's the VR Missions... OMG it's horrible, not so hard but really boring ? Popular Post SereneSilent
#28 Yakuza 0 I can safely say that I'm in love with this series. I never heard of this series until I watched these YouTubers play it. Thank you Pat for introducing me this game and thank you for everything Thesw1tcher! The Yakuza series, A series that has spawned in multiple games. Starting with the original Yakuza 1 - 5, remakes of the 1st and 2nd game and spin offs in which some are Japan exclusive. That's a lot of games if you ask me and I bet you're wondering, "Should I play this game or should I get into the series?" I suggest giving it a try since what better way to know if you will love it is if you try it. Alright so what should you expect from this game? Well allow me to explain it to you without spoiling anything. Since this is Yakuza 0 this means that this game is a prequel and takes place during 1988. A prequel to Yakuza 1 (If you have it since it's a ps2 game or if you have the ps3 trilogy which is a japan exclusive I believe) / Yakuza Kiwami. People would recommend playing this first since it will give you more background about the characters and story for Kiwami. I believe you should do this as it will enhance your experience with Kiwami but it is your choice. So what's the story about? Well Yakuza is an action/ adventure/ drama (It can get pretty intense) game, about the criminal underworld... that's as much as I can say without spoiling much. You play as two different protagonists in this game, one who is the protagonist for the future games and the other... well I can't say much but i'm sure you'll like him. . Game play wise... how is it? I say it's pretty fun and enjoyable. The best way I can describe it is a beat em up game since you beat up people . You start with a basic battle style and as you progress through the game you will be able to upgrade your basic style and unlock more styles. Depending what you do you may unlock somethings, like maybe a secret style, wink wink, more moves for your styles? I know what you're asking, "Can I only beat up people with my fists?" Nope! You can also use weapons such as knifes, bats, pistols and much more! A big mechanic Yakuza is your Heat Actions. What are heat actions? Basically they are your most powerful attacks and how they trigger or what type of attacks you can do all depend on your style you are using and heat level. There are 3 heat levels and the higher it is the faster you attack and the more heat actions you have available. There are lots of mini games for you to play in case you want to take time off fighting people, what kind? Lots that range from card games, mahjong, arcade games and more. Yakuza games are not Yakuza games without their substories and there are plentiful (They are extremely fun and can make you laugh or have feels) and of course their difficulty ranging from easy - hard at first then beating the game once unlocks the hardest difficulty (A tip from me, please save in your hardest difficulty play through because failing via death or whatever will force you to reload you last save instead of putting you back in the section you failed) . There's more I would say but for spoilers sake I'll let you experience it first hand, if you want to try it of course. As for trophies... how difficult are they to get the platinum? Now before you saying anything about the time it took me to platinum it.... I was distracted by another game. . The road for the platinum is a long grindy road! Oh no... OH YES. Such trophies are completing the main story chapters, completing and basically doing everything the game has to offer. Your biggest wall for the platinum will be the "Perfectionist" trophy as it requires you to 100% all the challenges the game has to offer. They can be simple as talking to people x amount of times, use healing items x amount of time, eating at restaurants x amount of times, etc. Others require you to do hard things like, earn x million yen in x minigames, earn certain scores in certain minigames, and for me what felt like walls such as mahjong, poker, etc. All I can say is this... don't give up, it seems impossible or really difficult but the more you complete the list of challenges the closer you are to getting that precious platinum! Difficulty: 4/10 (Normal Play though, I upgraded everything), 6.5/10 (Hardest Play through, I make it harder on myself by not upgrading certain things to be more powerful. I needed a challenge!) Enjoyment: 10/10 (I love it!) A last thing before I end this... Everyone.... Yakuza is a very serious game.

Spinosaurus Rex
#119 - Super Life of Pixel (Vita) Difficulty: 6/10 | Enjoyment: 7/10 | Plat rarity: 12.64% Oldschool indie platformer with takes a lot from retro consoles and computers. Chapters are designed to look, sound and teach you about older systems, for example more known NES, GameBoy or Amiga, but also more niche like ZX81, CPC 464 or BBC. Very challenging, even more than it should be thanks to not best level design and lack of checkpoints which make longer levels unnecessary frustrating. But overall a fun experience for any platformer fan. #120 - Midnight Deluxe (Vita) Difficulty: 2/10 | Enjoyment: 3/10 | Plat rarity: 97.63% A golf-like puzzle game published by community favorite Ratalaika. Not the worst game from them, but not the best either. You need to beat only 40 levels which takes hour at most, but it's still a tedious, annoying experience, especially on Vita with inaccurate analog sticks. It has pretty good atmosphere and music though, I'm a bit disappointed more enjoyable 36 Fragments of Midnight (which uses the same sprites, but is platformer instead of golf-like game) is muted. Buy it only if you have both PS4 and Vita and want 2 quick plats (it's $3.34 on sale for bundle).
Popular Post Masamune
You Are Nioh Obtained all trophies. Difficulty: 5.5/10 Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Playtime: 65:03:00 (1 week, 2 days, 9 hours, 14 minutes) Screenshot: Spoiler I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting to. I grabbed this at a pawn shop for $10 a while back (impulse buy), but when I got home & started reading about it, I seen a ton of people comparing it to Dark Souls... I thought, "there's $10 I'm not getting back" (I lost interest in Dark Souls after the first boss). ? But this was so much better than that, despite the difficulty when first starting the game, I still wanted to keep playing it... really it's just the right amount of challenge/fun. After I was about half way through, I started getting pretty good at combat/dodging (don't bother guarding it's a waste of time), & then I started using a "Critical Living Weapon" build, which made all future boss fights pretty trivial. Note that I was playing this on version 1.00 though, if I was playing the up to date version, I'm pretty sure the difficulty would've been a couple points higher, & enjoyment would've been lower (they've nerfed so many things, it's kinda depressing). ? But even knowing that, I'm almost tempted to try out the DLC if it ever goes on sale (I'm sure I'd regret that though considering the DLC is supposed to be a lot harder than the main game). As for the trophies, the hardest one was probably the one for completing all the missions, mainly for a couple challenging (Onmyo) Dojo missions you have to do where you can't use LW, but they're very doable with some practice & learning the enemies moves. By the time I was done with everything, my total deaths were only 160!

Popular Post Hanstarkiller17
Platinum #46 100% #55 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Another cleanup Platinum over 2 years in the making! I started playing this game when it first came out with the goal of finishing it, but after completing the campaign on veteran and getting the difficult mile high club trophy, I got burned out and it quickly became lost in the backlog. I decided to finally pick it up again, and spent the first two hours trying to beat the F.N.G. fast enough for it's second trophy. Once I finally completed that though, the rest of the cleanup was a breeze! It made me excited for the upcoming CoD too, especially if there is no zombies mode! Next up is a couple non-plat cleanups, and then some new ones before I return to the backlog.

Popular Post iFraaN97
# 250 - Kingdom Hearts Enjoyment : 9 / 10Difficulty: 5.5 / 10 I kinda gave up on the plat since in my first playthrough I was going for the no equipment change trophy and I didn't make the proper decisions at the beginning of the game to get some really useful skills but after coming back and grinding some levels it made everything much easier. The synthesis stuff wasn't that bad at all either, I pretty much got everything in a day, but it's definitely more tedious than in the sequel. Thank god they didn't make us complete all the gummi ship stuff on ps4, otherwise I don't think I would've bothered with the plat lol.

darkrequiem7
It'll take a while to finish lily rank grinding in Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed, so my most recent platinum is from Railway Empire a few weeks ago. I haven't been challenged like this in a while, especially in the Epilogue Mission 'Mile High Club'. It's great when games get Remastered properly like this one was, (apart from the MP maps being sold for a mint) I'm not sure what else there is to say except that this, CoD MW II and World at War are the only games in this franchise i really like... Popular Post Dokusha
#101: Period Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ Haaah... I honestly adore otome visual novels. I think it's a fantastic genre that provides us with some wonderfully touching stories and imaginative settings. At its best, you will be completely immersed in a fantastical piece of fiction as you swoon over your favourite prettyboy, and defeat whatever evil lurks underneath the glossy surface. At its worst, however, you get works like Amnesia: Memories, and... this one. Period Cube is honestly the worst otome I've ever had the displeasure of playing. At least Amnesia had a stylish, cheery presentation going for it, but Period Cube has very little in the way of redeeming factors. Yes, the art is nice, but that's a given, all otome visual novels look nice. The music is bland, and the writing... oh my god, the writing. The heroine is looking for her missing older brother Shiki, and ends up trapped inside an MMORPG, Sword Art Online-style. But instead of being an almighty Mary Sue, you get the joy of playing as the only level 1 nooblet on a server filled with elite players. The heroine hasn't touched a controller before in her life, and honestly, with the condescending "tips" that deign to explain oh-so complicated things like "server" or "HP" to you, it made me wonder if the target demographic for this was similarly inexperienced with video games. So, alright, you play as a helpless lamb in a world of lions, and you have to resign yourself to the fact that the prettyboys will be doing all the fighting, since you're level 1 and all that. The first two routes I tried were rather dull, although the endings were decently satisfying. I would've described the game as thoroughly mediocre and somewhat boring but not -bad-, if all the other routes were similar. But they're not. Stuff like this starts happening: Spoiler The heroine's brother is in love with the heroine, his little sister, fondles her as she sleeps and murders men who look at her for too long. Another love interest is a violent yandere who mind-rapes the heroine (seriously, look at this and tell me why this is in a romantic otome VN instead of a Nitro+ horror story?) into following him everywhere and once she snaps out of it, SHE MAKES HIM DO A PINKY PROMISE NOT TO DO IT AGAIN AND LEAVES IT AT THAT, SHE FORGIVES HIM AND CONTINUES LOVING HIM, WHAT THE EVERLIVING FU-- ahem. Oh, and have I told you about the actual serial killer LI whose route has him slapping the heroine around for 90% of the story before an arbitrary and forced redemption takes place? I'm not saying this because I think it's Problematic™ or whatever, heavens no. I simply find myself rattled from the sheer... trainwreckery here. We go from dull and hardly interesting to SHEER DISTURBED LUNATIC CAR CRASH with no bloody middle ground, and at no point does the game indicate this! Insult to injury is that the main plot flat-out makes no sense, and is riddled with headscratchers and leaps of moon-logic. Honestly, I do not recommend this to anyone, unless you explicitly like to watch disasters unfold, and even then, please for the love of God, wait for a sale. I only finished this disaster because I would've hated to have it leering at me from my trophy list, stuck at 22% or what-have-you. Ugh. Excuse me whilst I go wash out this bad taste in my mouth...
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#381 - Pyre This one overstayed it's welcome, to the point where it just seems to drag on forever. It's stuck in the same gameplay loop that isn't fun enough to be able to say that this is a good game. THe concept is original, but the mediocre gameplay and the choice to put lines of gibberish into the game instead of actual voiced dialogue is an odd choice. The vs mode is a tad more interesting until you realise that it00s local co-op only, which is good for trophies, bad for the actual game mode. Popular Post Viper
#165 36 Fragments of Midnight Platinum Midnight This game would have actually been rather enjoyable if it wasn't for that damn speedrun trophy. But I eventually managed it at 5:47. There was one point where I think it was the game's fault...after collecting all 36 fragments and going back to start, Midnight had no where to go but into a wall, so I had to wait for this dialogue to finish and it gave me 6:03 because of that. One of those games that's supser simple in the mechanics...but will get you heated due to the proceduraly generated nature of the traps.
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #290: Difficulty: 2/10 Playtime: 56 minutes, 23 seconds Enjoyment: ???/10 I have literally no idea what to make of what I just experienced. Relatable existentalist ruminations and unpredictable gameplay change-ups mixed with some of the most precipitous framerate drops on record and controls that haven't been equalled in their abject clunkiness on a PlayStation console since Bubsy 3D. If it weren't for the trophies made self-evident on my screen I wouldn't even know for sure whether I didn't just have a random hallucinatory psychotic episode. Be thankful this isn't on VR because I don't think our feeble human minds were meant to comprehend whatever this was supposed to be. I don't know if I liked it, I don't know if I hated it.
