           Platinum #302: Persona 5 Royal

 

 

An absolute masterpiece that has cemented itself in my favorite games of all time.

Not only did the Royal version improve on pretty much every aspect of the already amazing original, but it also introduced a much less stressful and more enjoyable platinum.

 

I’d recommend this to any JRPG fans, the time investment is a bit bulky, but I assure you that it is very worth it.

 

Looking forward to doing the other stacks in the future.

Master of Seasons

 

I started this earlier this year and put it down for some reason. I didn't mind it, it just seemed like I was going around in circles. I had to resort to some videos on how to do some things in the game. 

 

Overall it is a decent game with some good puzzles. It is kind of cool being able to change the seasons. It is all needed to get to different places in the game and for solving some of the puzzles. 

 

Very cool plat image I must say.

 

May try to squeeze one more platinum in before the end of the year. May just settle on this and try to get something ready for my annual New Year's day plat.

What started as a bit of fun became an annoying grind to find all gameovers/cookies within the game in which I ended up using a walkthrough. Not entirely my cup of tea but can certainly see the appeal to others and can admit it was fun until going for the platinum itself.

This was okay but it felt like a downgrade from Just Cause 3. The challenges such as the wingsuit weren't challenging at all like the previous Just Cause. Great podcast game though.

Plat #182: Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

 

I actually enjoyed the game. Must have been all the patches/removal of micro-transactions ?.

 

In all seriousness the game played similarly to the first game. I enjoyed the first game but was deterred from buying this game after hearing all of the BS that Monolith/WB games was trying to pull when the game first launched. Luckily this came up on PS+. The only parts I had issues with was the killing of the captain while riding a Olog and the Epilouge (I lost once but luckily had a backup save on the cloud to redo over again).

The 2nd dream tag spin-off of Tekken and is mostly non-canon to the main Tekken games(1-7), unlike it's Prequel Tekken Tag Tournament(only saw the endings of that game years ago), the endings is like the main Tekken games's(At least 4 to 6).

In a pre-disney Star Wars timeline(The better one in my opinion) it's set between Episode III and IV. The Force Unleashed features a young man by the name of Galen Marek (codenamed "Starkiller"), the secret Sith apprentice of Darth Vader, and his missions as such in the year 2 BBY.

Whlie it's a reboot of Samurai Shodown series, it's story is not as it's between Samurai Shodown V and the first game which I never beat back on the Samurai Shodown Collection on PS2. Once all the characters of the Season 3 DLC Character Pass is out then I go back to this game to get the rest of the pieces of artwork.

#401 - Borderlands

I did not enjoy this game at all. An extremely bland setting, awful story presentation (basically entirely through quest text, and even then it's boring and barely relevant), tedious inventory management, repetitive and generic quest design, awful vehicle controls, an annoying fast travel mechanic... Nothing here was good. It wasn't exactly awful either, but it's certainly didn't make me want to play Borderlands 2, which I do own via PS+, via the Handsome Collection. The DLC was all very bad too, I'm grateful I got carried through Moxxi so I could just idle that lol.

 

Definitely not a game I would recommend, and I'm glad to be done with it after so many years.

My favorite game. I've always wanted to do the platinum but never got around with it... now it's done.

The story trophies are easy to get. The hardest are the fireflies/hunters weeks ones (especially when you don't like the MP).

 

#14 - The Wolf Among Us

 

I played episode 1 when it released and never continued... I regret it now, that's a great game!

Not a difficult platinum, but still appreciating this one.

This did not really go as planned. I saw this game long time ago and always said to me: One day you'll play it.

And now I did, even got through all the trophies... in a pretty short amount of time as well, I'm really happy that I managed doing this plat!

I'm not really big into sports, nor winter sports in particular. But this was so much fun and gave me vibes like the first time I played Tony Hawks back in the PSx era!

Most of the challenges that require you to achieve the gold medal are quite doable, I really did struggle on a couple of them and tested me, my will and my patience

No controllers broke, no TV either, a new UR (my second ever) and now ready for some christmas stuff!

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Moments after speaking underwater, he realized he can't speak underwater. And then he died.

 

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...I played Super Star Wars games on Super Nintendo. They were grand.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is almost as good as those golden oldies. Very different, of course, but good nonetheless.

This is a sort-of-open world metroidvania, with combat similar to Souls games. Tons easier, naturally 

The Force is strong with lots of things in SWJ: FO. 

Graphics are excellent most of the time and different planets each have their moments to shine.

Wielding a light saber, or variations of it...c'mon, it does not get any better than that. Mine was orange. SHHHOOOM SWISHHH ZZZZRRK !!!

Use of Star Wars lore was well done. Lots of fan service and nods to movies old, but kept my sorry old ass happy 

Exploration was mostly fun and finding secrets from every nook and cranny felt satisfying...at first.

Now onto the Dark Side, with all that's wrong with this game...BECAUSE I SAY SO!!

Screen freezing at times when going to a different area, and occasional visual hiccups. Forest planet Kashyyyk (yup, three y's) was a buggy mess. 

Lack of music and its sparse use in very odd points in game. A battle theme would play out for a moment, even if there's no one around.

Moving with normal speed. It's more like slow jogging, and Cal looks like he just shat his pants. Well he does 

Backtracking, the most frustrating and tedious aspect of the game. A fast travel of sorts would've been nice, but no, let the boy jog with Shit Pants.

Collectibles that are mostly skins...for your pancho (or is it poncho?). I didn't even use that pa-poncho, makes him look fat and bloated 

Despite all those faults, I'd still give Fallen Order a sweet 8+/10. For fans of Star Wars this might be the game they were looking for

Not sync'ed yet, as I'm always sync and updating twice a week but got it last night, I had a blast! 

 

You have to play offline with bots (servers shutdown) but god, those bots are smart even on easy! I even continue playing after getting the plat!

Tme was around 5-7 hours due to 2 tedious trophies but can be completed in 1-3h

 

 

Bunny Hunt Kill an airborne enemy   Blast Will and Testament Win a round by picking up the bomb from a fallen comrade and successfully planting it

 

This two trophies are pretty luck-based, but find a way to get it done easily (Thanks to an user <3, Don't gonna @ to not make him came and read this)

I love this game and I'm really happy I managed to make the plat into a milestone. The worldbuilding, story, interesting characters, the Alan Wake connection - everything is awesome. I love the way The Board talks. Even the dlc-s are good and add to the story, when in most other games the dlc-s are half-arsed and frustrating to complete.

#402 - Sayonara Wild Hearts

I loved this game the first time I played it earlier this year, and since then I have been waiting for the stack to go on sale so I could redo it. It finally did go on sale, but I was preoccupied at the time, so I have only just now gotten around to it. I can safely say I enjoyed this just as much as I did the first time around. I challenged myself a little, wanted to get it done in less than 3 hours 3 minutes (from the first trophy pop), to try and dethrone Sound Shapes as my fastest plat. I messed up a little and unlocked a trophy a little earlier than intended, but I still achieved my goal, so this is now my fastest plat (1 hour, 43 minutes.) Also happens to be the fastest achiever, which is a nice bonus. I don't think I'll ever dethrone this one, but I'm fine with that since it's an amazing game and at least it doesn't look like an auto pop anymore lol. I think trying to speedrun it made the experience feel more fresh since I had already played it before, so I'm glad I decided to.

 

The game also happens to be on sale again at the moment, so I recommend it.
