Popular Post kRiZz_93
# 125 - WWE Legends Of Wrestlemania (PS3) Difficulty - 2 / 10 Enjoyment - 6.5 / 10 (I was a big fan of the old school WWF especially the Wrestlemania events, so when I saw this game I thought that it would be great to re-experience some of the past events that I use to watch back on VHS...ahh makes me feel old saying that format ? Overall the game was pretty decent for it's age but very simplistic at it's core. There was a few annoying moments in the relive events when attempting to recreate special moves using the surrounding environments as things got buggy, for example trying to use the ring side canvas to grab a chair or something simple like grabbing a water bottle from the commentators table that was only useable for a brief time...like who came up with that rule! ?) Time Taken - 3 Days 4 Hours 45 Mins # 126 - X-Men Origins: Wolverine (PS3) Difficulty - 2.5 / 10 Enjoyment - 8 / 10 (I enjoyed the films based around Wolverine, I believe he has a great backstory and provides some great visceral combat due to his Adamantium claws, so naturally when I saw this game I had to pick it up. It's a hack 'n' slash styled gameplay and it be honest considering it came out in 2009, this game surprisingly felt very well put together and I would even state it's close to being on God of War 1 / 2 level! Overall I enjoyed playing it for the first playthrough, the second run on Hard wasn't really necessary as it felt no different then normal. Ah well it's done now and it has one great platinum image! ?) Time Taken - 1 Week 2 Days 15 Hours (One full playthough on Normal mode / Clean-up of any remaining miscellaneous trophies including a tad bit of a grind to master reflexes and get the remaining upgrades. Finally one full run on Hard for the last trophy )

Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum 258 Fun: 7/10 Difficulty: 7/10 w/o a guide The Talos Principle is a puzzle game that throws in electric doors that you can jam with jammer, laser puzzles you use crystals to connect the lasers to their destination, time manipulation to have a copy of you do one thing while you do another thing such as carrying a standing platform to move you and other objects on, and many companion cubes. The puzzles range from simple and right in your face, going to have to think about this for a minute, wait....what?, EXCUSE ME YOU DO WHAT?, to this solution only makes sense because you do things that you were never given tips on what to do. There are miscellaneous trophies such as taking a long time to solve a puzzle, eventually solve it or give up and come back later, and solving every puzzle in the game.
Popular Post s68sc
Platinum 45 - Brave Fun 10/10 Difficulty 4/10 This game is not bad at all, is fun and not that easy on the Hardest difficulty, i don't know why but this game remind me of God of War 1 maybe because is got some similar gameplay mechanic and the last boss fight is hard you need to play smart. Platinum 46 - God of War 1 Fun 10/10 Difficulty 3/10 After completed too many times on PS2, i finally got the platinum on PS3 and it feels good, this game is beautiful i really love the story and is not hard at all, i got everything in one playthrough except for the Challenges of Gods of course, i 100% the game in 4 hours and 15 minutes and i complete all the challenges in 40 minutes because challenge 8 was very hard for me but challenge 9 and 10 was strangely easy and yes i found this game easier than Brave but maybe because i know almost everything about it... Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #88 - ModNation Racers; Road Trip ModNation™ Legend - Earn all the ModNation™ Racers: Road Trip trophies to unlock this platinum trophy 73,982 Owners - 657 Achievers for a percentage of 0.89% (average completion; 13.93%) Enjoyment; 6/10 Difficulty; 7/10 Trophies; 2/10 (good tiles but overly reliant on multiplayer and ad hoc) Pride; 10/10 I can distinctly remember the morning of September 1st 2012, standing in a local shop as I leered towards a shelf of Playstation Vita games by the till. The handheld had launched a few months prior, sales had been lukewarm at best, and games were already being discounted. I had finished Uncharted Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush, the two first-party jewels in the Vita's crown, and had enjoyed my time with the MGS collection and F1 2011 at that point. This left me to rummage through the remainder of the games that had been released up until that point for a new challenge to tackle. ModNation Racers; Road Trip, a portable take by San Diego Studios on the creative racing PS3 game from United Front, had been slapped with a nice discount sticer to take it down to 20 Euro, and I can still recall the exact internal monologue going through my head as I stood there; 'Should I do this? The trophies sounded tricky. I'm really going to have to dedicate myself to this one'. And then I walked out of the store with my copy. I booted it up in the early evening after work that same day, played around with the creator tools for the player character, karts, and tracks (especially enjoyed this one), and played my first single player races. Admittedly, I don't remember much else of my time playing the game, asides from some stuff I did while listening to a political debate on TV for local elections. Should I blame myself for that? Probably not, because this was over eight years ago! Single player cups, online races, time trials, challenges, and a massive 'like-4-like' grind (if you played LBP, you'll have a good idea of what was involved); within five weeks I had bested everything the game had thrown my way. Except for one thing; the realization that the Vita had flopped. Because San Diego, in all their wisdom, had included ad hoc Trophies that required a second Vita and copy of the game. And I was the only person in my town to own a Vita, and later in uni I was again the only person to own a Vita. Fast forward to last week and Sony sneaking out their announcement that the Vita store and messaging app would be shuttered, and I had had enough. For eight years I had been waiting to run into literally anyone else with a Vita, and since I wasn't sure if ModNation's ad hoc would be affected by the app closure, I finally bit the bullet and paid a 100 Pounds for a second Vita. Add another eight Pounds for a second copy of the game, et voila, I had my setup complete. Was it a panic buy? Maybe, but this week I got a massive pay raise anyway so I'm not overly fussed about those 100 quiddies now. My original Vita and game cartridge on the left, the newly-acquired matching set on the left. Kinda wish I had the original case as well, but that's in storage in my home country at the moment. For once I'm not going to bore everyone with an overly descriptive diatribe about the game as I simply don't remember enough of it, but I do want to say how proud I am. This is my first-ever sub 1 percent Trophy and it's the long-awaited resolution to that promise I made myself all those years ago; I did dedicate myself to getting this Platinum. The world has moved on - Sony certainly has moved on - and the game's servers have long been closed. Eleven of the 47 Trophies on offer here have been unattainable since the plug was pulled on July 1st 2017, and I'm only the second person to achieve the Platinum in 2021 - judging from some other 'recent' achievers they all suffered the same ad hoc problem, which just highlights how overly optimistic the developers were by including these Trophies. This will be one of my last Vita Platinum Trophies, sadly, but finally unlocking it after years of frustration and anticipation is a sweet, sweet feeling. Popular Post JoaLoft
#248 - Star Wars: Republic Commando Star Wars: Republic Commando is one of my most favorite sleeper hits ever. It was supposed to get a sequel, which got scrapped unfortunately back in the day. More than fifteen years later, the squad gets a second chance to shine with this brand-new port of the 2005 game. But, how mixed do I feel about this. Let's start off with the story of this campaign-only game. You control Delta-38, the leader of a four-man elite commando unit called Delta Squad as part of the Republic clone army. You partake in the Clone Wars of the Star Wars universe, taking you to the battle on Geonosis, a hijacked assault ship in space, and the Wookiee home planet, Kashyyyk, fighting back against the separatist army and their allies. Each of these three campaigns takes up about three hours on average, so you'll be spending a considerable amount of time on each location. This is essentially a port from a 2005 game, and as such, a lot looks and feels outdated. The opening logos look horrible. The main screen feels blocky and cheap. Everything has been kept low-res, including the loading screens and the "Making of" videos included! I am not joking when the resolution of these videos is lower than YouTube's infamous 144p resolution. And although the game itself has been upscaled, the textures look ugly up close, the game design is visibly from almost two decades ago, and the controls scheme is a nightmare if you're used to the modern shooter layout. For those who want a more proper controls layout, I shared mine here. It also suffers from a few really nasty glitches or bugs: subtitles contain spelling errors or paste separate words together. Squad units can - albeit rarely - get stuck behind debris or just plain normal interior architecture. I even lost control over my guns (yes, you read that correctly) twice when I picked up a new gun and wanted to switch weapons simultaneously, actively rendering me gunless and forcing me to reload my checkpoint. The studio responsible for the port, Aspyr, could have really done more to give it a more modern feel and has not done this game justice. For shame. So... Why the hell do I still enjoy this game then? It's not just nostalgia, is it? After playing through it twice again now on PS4 after so many years, it is clear what gave Republic Commando its charm back in the day and still does now: the team. Each squad unit has a distinct personality and has been voice-acted well. You yourself play as Delta-38 aka "Boss" (a determined squad leader) accompanied by Delta-62 aka "Scorch", (a witty demolitions expert cracking jokes) Delta-40 aka "Fixer" (a quiet professional terminal slicer i.e. hacker) and Delta-07 aka "Sev" (a fierce elite sniper who loves to kill). They all have a unique look and voice, making them very recognizable instantly. The banter they exchange, the way they react throughout the story's events: it all adds to the immersion of being part of this elite squad who are not just clone brethren but also, dare I even say, friends. Gameplay was pretty innovative in 2005 and holds up well for the most part. All your information you need - health, ammo counter, squad members' statuses and locations - is displayed on your helmet. Still feels cool and immersive. And as the leader of an elite unit, you get to designate orders, have your three squad members execute specific actions like breaching, blowing up debris or droid dispensers, slicing into terminals, taking up sniping positions, handling turrets etc. Or you can even decide to do them yourself while the team gives you covering fire. If you ever go down, you can ask to be revived or healed, and you can do the same for the three Deltas if they ever run out of health too. This entire set-up still works despite its simplicity, and the fact that this gameplay blueprint can keep Star Wars: Republic Commando standing amidst the outdated visuals and feel and the painful glitches after almost two decades: it shows just how strong it is. I hope that this port is a trial run for more. If enough people can pick this up and merit an actual modern sequel to be developed (by, let's say Respawn Entertainment) with modern storytelling and modern visuals and gameplay, that would be amazing. Imagine a Star Wars military shooter, with all the hallmark traits of a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). That sounds pretty damn incredible, wouldn't you agree? One can only hope. Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! This platinum trophy is, believe it or not, super easy to achieve, all things considered. Aside from yet another big batch of miscellaneous trophies, the hardest one to pull off is finishing the game on Hard Mode. A feat which is easy to pull off, thanks to your teammates who can pack quite a punch if you position them quickly and well, and the fact that going down does not equal a game over screen, with how the game is set up. Not just that, this port allows you to make quick saves, essentially allowing you to make custom saves wherever and whenever, regardless of difficulty or situation. And that's on top of the automatic checkpoints which occur frequently. Later situations can deliver a bit more of a challenge, but overall: Hard Mode was not exactly a big hurdle to overcome, making this one of the easier Star Wars games on PS4/PS5 to complete and platinum.

Popular Post Mipsy
#2: Kamiko (PS4) ** Played on a PS5 via PS4 BC ** This hugely simple arcade-y action title pleases me, more than it ought to. The sub-30-min. speedruns can easily get done in 20, and the game's restart option converts its no-damage trophy into a mere soft exercise of patience against a couple of boss battles and thorny mob spawns. It contains under 25 sentences of script and a dozen (surprisingly catchy and well-constructed) chiptunes. So why's it please me so? It's one of those bite-size morsels that just snaps. Mash together a speedy dose of Ys lite with, say, the tile rooms in StarTropics, and you'd get something approaching Kamiko. It offers more fun playability than Skipmore's previous Fairune duo, IMO, owing to its seamlessly responsive dash-and-slash/arch/sling build. For its price point of $5, it satisfied plenty. Hope more peeps give it a shot. Deli's PS4-on-PS5 BC Report: Happily, I encountered zero issues with Kamiko on a PS5. If anything, its slim loading times evaporated completely from PS4 to PS5. No graphics or audio got garbled, nor did the controls hiccup. Plays practically identically on either console, as one'd reasonably expect. #3: Spirit of the North (PS5) Oh, how I longed to adore this game more than I ultimately did. That doesn't mean it's garbage - heavens, no! It's just that the fluffy fox controls somewhat unwieldy for trickier maneuvers, plus the game's assorted Icelandic environments hide many an obstinate invisible force field where the furball could otherwise roam and hop. This game (from Infuse Studio, a pair of North Carolinian 3D asset artists, plus a contracted symphonic composer) has you explore a forlorn mountainous region as - you guessed - a fox. The critter acquires a few spirit abilities to wordlessly overcome a debilitating plague that has claimed more than a couple of local lives and landscapes. It plays a balance between walking simulator and puzzle-driven adventure. Much of the time, that makes it relaxing, even zen-like. The physics' simplicity and near-minimal guidance *can*, however, drag an intrepid fox, player, and trophy seeker down; I eventually referenced a couple textual and video guides, for what that's worth, to clean up a couple "to-do" tasks. Chapter select *does* immediately ease platinum cleanup, since the game autosaves upon any advancement toward a 100%. Spirit of the North definitely runs silky-smooth at 60 FPS in its PS5 release, to its benefit, I hear, over prior releases. I'd consider recommending it to those who fancy an adventure absent combat and dialogue - and, heck, humans as a living species - but be forewarned: those frustrating shortcomings *will*, sadly, impede one's pursuit of the zen state. How much will vary. #4: Astro's Playroom (PS5) Didn't set out yestermorn to triple-platinum in a 4-hour span, but here we wound up! Okay. Okay. This product defies the labels - pack-in, tech demo - to stunning result. This gem, right here, Sony? Continue these, I implore you. What we started with here was a pretty darn capable 3D platformer on its own merits, but what we got after unwrapping all its chummy warmth was a heartwarmer for the eyes, and what we explored as a 25-year PlayStation celebration became one hell of a delight to the soul. Not since the Ape Escape glory era had first-party Sony delighted like this. Team Asobi has earned a shot and then some at crafting a full-size masterpiece. It would be remiss of me to spoil even a fraction of Astro's broad and exemplary PlayStation veneer - suffice to say, having gamed on PS since PS1, smiles came frequent and potent for me. Not one to fangirl so I'll cut short the bubbly admiration, but holy heck, Astro satisfied tremendously, all throughout. I savored it; Gods, did I savor it. Oh, and damn, did its skillful tunes burrow into my skull. I might never be able to evict that GPU melody.

Popular Post Charizarzar
#138: Tomb Raider: Anniversary Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Recently got in the mood of wanting to play an old Tomb Raider but I only had the Keeley Hawes versions on PS2. Annoyingly the only one in the store is Underworld so I had to wait for a physical copy with the whole trilogy on it to arrive. I have fond memories of Legend so I'm looking forward to playing that again the most, but I enjoyed this one even more than I remembered. This is probably my all-time favourite version of Lara anyway, and I love the huge focus on puzzles and the absolute randomness of dinosaurs and gorillas behind so many corners. I was dreading doing the time trials, not that they seemed undoable but I just don't enjoy having a timer in the corner of my eye during long levels. But you can use at least use cheats you unlock along the way like unlimited breath and a 1-shot gun which relieves the stress tenfold. It took my slow brain until the end of a really long level in Greece before I remembered I could just jump to the bottom rather than waste 5 minutes carefully traversing down. The controls are a little bit shit, like Lara jumping sideways from the rope when you want her to go backwards, so you have to remember the d-pad exists to play this one. But yeah, had a great time with it overall.
