Because it was already taken when I came to PSN, and I didn't want to add all those pesky symbols and numbers to make it look different, I took a slightly different name and wrote my old one in my signature.That way I still will be able to refer to myself the way I used to. Judging from the PSN api it will never be changeable as they use it as a unique id, probably take too much effort now to support it without breaking things.
