Popular Post Hemiak
KILL YOUR COMPLETION V Select a Size Underway Hey there PSNP. Welcome to the 5th edition of the Kill Your Completion series. Most of you probably have an idea of what goes on here, but if you still have no clue, here's the previous edition of the thread.https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/49866-kill-your-completion-cyoa/ The Premise Participants will each choose a list of 5-15 0% games from their backlog and post them here so everyone can follow along. These games don't have to be pre loaded on your profile, as long as you own them already and haven't earned a trophy they count. Participants will start a new game from that list every couple days for the next month. o.O They WILL then post their thoughts on each game, and write a short review on the final day for each game. This can take any shape or form each person desires. I've tweaked the rules just slightly from the last event. Instead of a hard 10 games, 3 days each rule, or complete freedom, I've come up with something in between. This time you can select 5-15 games to start. I would prefer people do 5/6, 10/3, or 15/2, but if you have a valid reason for only being able to do 8 or 12 games, that would be acceptable. I just felt the last event was a little too chaotic with people starting games on completely random days and times. I'd also like to see people get the minimum 3 hours per game so I feel like more than 15 games would be cutting each one too short, I don't really care if you have no life and can do 5 hours every day. I'll continue to make updates over the next few days as I'm kind of rushed for time now. All the Info Requirements to Join Psnprofiles member for 1 month (or premium member) Backlog of at least 5 un-started games Desire to be part of something bigger than yourself A complete and utter dis-regard for your completion rate (for the next month)How to Join Say you want in Post your list of the games YOU ALREADY OWN that you haven't started. Post your completion percent October 31st for S&G.Game Selection Suggestions These are just suggestions, this will have no bearing on you being added to the event. These are just things that I think make for a more interesting selection of games overall.- Variety is The Spice...: Try to avoid having more than 1 or 2 of the same type of game on there.- Try Something New or Different - A list filled with AAA games/remasters that you've already played, from only two different series, is boring.- Don't choose all games that all have average completion times under 10 hours: You're not fooling anybody. Won't this completely bone my completion percentage? Maybe? Of the 8 participants who finished the first event, the biggest completion drop was under 5%, and the average was around 2.5%. In the 2nd run we had a participant drop a staggering 11.5%. It really just depends on how many games you've played and how close to 100% you already are.How do I choose my games? Up to you. RNG, consult an Oracle, ask a friend, post a status update, pick ones you've been looking forward to, or any combination of the above. You could also post games in the 4th KYC thread and ask for help there. What happens if I finish a game in under 3 days? Again, up to you. Start something else, work on one of your previous games, whittle, macrame, etc. This is acceptable and I fully expect this to happen, but it should not be the norm for your games. How long should I play my game? The main component of this event is your perceptions and review. I suggest a minimum of three hours per game, so that you have at least a base grasp of story and concepts. Again, this is the bare minimum suggested time. I realize many of us have jobs and families and yada-yada... That is why we get three days per game. How does this all work? Really? You didn't read any of the above? Here's the TL:DR version, choose a bunch of games, post them here. Start a fresh game November 1st, play that game three or more hours over the next couple days. When it's time, throw that one in the trash and start game 2, 3, etc. Tell us what you thought of game 1, 2, 3, etc. Have fun. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
I'll be sticking to the 10 games format as usual (last event being the exception with 9). I've changed my initial list a bit and have settled for the following Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart (Vita) Mafia III (PS4) Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles (PS4) Portal Knights (PS4) Volume (PS4) Battlefield Hardline (PS4) Tales of Berseria (PS4) One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 (PS4) Dishonored: Death of the Outsider (PS4) Final Fantasy XV (PS4) I pretty much fully recovered my completion from the last event and even surpassed it by getting it to 73.23%. I'm pretty sure that this list will take me much longer to recover from though. PS: Thanks for running this once again Hem!
Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Shit, damn site erased the rest of my text and my list. Well, here we go again... My initial thought was doing thirty games in thirty days, with a minimum of one hour per game, as I just wanted to give every game I had . However, as @Hemiak has changed the rules this time to a maximum of fifteen, I will now focus on the games I have never played before (and Darksider, of which I played about half an hour on X360 but I'm still sorry that I never got around to playing more as it should be my kind of game). Might be for the best that it's fifteen, that means that now I can also drop those PS+ games I only added to get to thirty. Here's the list I'm entering with for now (November's PS+ announcement is during November itself so I might swap a few titles at that point). It's only PS4 versions. Star Wars Battlefront II Leo's Fortune Darksiders Darksiders II Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell Rebel Galaxy Hyper Void The Swindle Galak-Z Sky Force Anniversary Downwell Stealth Inc 2: A Game Of Clones Lumo Alienation Xeodrifter P.S. @Hemiak sorry, but you may still see me starting games on random days, seeing as I won't be able to game on several days and still want to give each game enough time, and with not being sure which day I actually get Battlefront II.

Popular Post PerryToxteth
I've been anxiously anticipating this event - thanks Hemiak! (BTW- I'm rooting for the Astros!!) Here's a brief rundown on what I've been up to since the July CYOA event. I completed all five games I chose for that event, but please, hold the applause. Out of the 131 trophies in the five games, only six trophies were "rare" or under. But the titles went well with my theme of Short, Sweet and Most Likely Stupid, given my work and vacation schedule that month. Games that were Sweet in that event were Submerged, Flower and Grim Legends: The Forsake Bride. Falling under Stupid were Wheels of Aurelia and Day of the Tentacle. For this event, I will go the 10/3 option but will have to play a few games in advance of their allotted slots because of a work trip and the Thanksgiving holiday. I also am trying to be more strategic in my slotting of games, putting bigger games in the back end so I can pick them up in December. I learned a hard lesson with Shadow of Mordor in KYC3. It led off the event but trying to pick it back up after a month long lay-off was too hard. So there it still sits - a great game with a D rating on my profile. Here's my List for KYC V: 1. Grand Ages Medieval (PS4). A Civilization-like strategy game. Big in scope so it goes against what I just wrote above, but I promised a guy to boost the MP trophies with him next week. 2. Mahjong World Contest (PS4). I need a short game here as I leave for Phoenix on Sunday. 3. Eventide: A Slavic Tale (PS4). My traditional Artifex Mundi game! I enjoy these games for some "passive gaming." It will work in the slot as I'll be in Phoenix all week for work. 4. Truck Racer (PS3). A PS+ game. Looking for boosters on the MP trophies - any takers??? 5. Battlefield 1 (PS4). My first foray into the Battlefield series. 6. The Sexy Brutale (PS4). Voodoo's reputation is at stake. 7. Old Time Hockey (PS4). Hoping, praying, this will play like NHL 94 on the Sega 16. 8. Fragments of Him (PS4). Change of pace game. 9. Need For Speed (PS4). My first foray into the NFS series. 10. Mafia II (PS3). End the event with an open world game I can just continue on with into Dec. And, it's eating up a ton of space on my PS3. Of course, my trend is to switch out a title mid-event due to unforseen circumstances and I'm grateful to Hemiak for that. But this should be my concrete list, unless someone knows of one of these being glitchy (I am the Glitch Magnet). Should be fun with old vets and rookies! But Hem, can we make a new rule? It's kind of funny since if you look at all of the games SF4 and 5 look more like sequels to the EX series than they do to SF2 and 3, imo. @Cubone Hope you like Sky Force Anniversary. I picked it up from PS+ as well and had a lot of fun with it. It's a pretty little old school shoot em up that sort of reminded me of the Aerofighter games but it has the ability to grind levels for permanent upgrades so in a sense it becomes easier but even fully powered up the last 2 levels are still quite challenging. I don't think I even bothered taking the last level up beyond the second difficulty setting. Anyways, let's see if you can knock me down a peg from (currently) 34th fastest achiever on the leaderboard with a completion time of 1 day, 19hrs. I'm really torn, but since my wife and I are hosting her family for Thanksgiving, most of that week is out. So I'm going to have to go with the 5/6 schedule. Maybe I will try and squeeze in some bonus games on the 10/3 schedule if @Hemiak will allow it. - Salt & Sanctuary - Marvel heroes omega - Undertale - Crysis 3 - Fallout 4 Potential Bonus Games: - Darkest Dungeon - Banner Saga - What Remains of Edith Finch This was one of the exceptions I was talking about. You know you have company or a trip and can't play for like 6 days. Do 8 games 3 days each. Totally fine. Just last time several people, myself included, were starting games willy-nilly and bouncing around. I just felt it made everything kind of hard to follow. Also I didn't put it in the OP but if you're using a nickname on the forums please post a link to your psn profile with your list. You can edit it in to your original post, no need to put something new up. I'm not going to bother trying to figure out who is who and deal with your identity crisis. I only played SF II on the SNES and arcades back when I could barely look over the fighting console of the arcade cabinet. Also thought I was pretty good at the game as I had no problem finishing the game with almost any character I picked (although the arcade was probably set to easy). After that I tried MK on PC, which I was terrible at. In my teens I used to go to the arcades with my cousins and play the hell out of KoF '98. Then there was a whole lot of nothing for me until SF IV came out. Still gutted that Blanka was left out of V, as he was one of my favourite characters.
