Bucknerd
I am a Record Management Specialist for the US Department of Energy. Basically I am in the middle of implementing an electronic record system so DOE can adhere to the paperless record act. Needless to say most departments have been keeping e-records on a network drive or on Sharepoint which is bad because it doesn't meet the retention set by the National Archives. I'm going to stop rambling now.
DrewBadger68
I am Deployment Functionality Tech for Best Buy. A DFT consists mainly of low voltage and coaxial cable pulls throughout the stores we have to work in during the busy season. Whether its overnights or transformations. These can consist of anywhere from 1-2 days up to 6 weeks or more. All cables are primarily ran on the ceiling beams with few store still may have trenches on the floor, but they do actually get new drops. I've been able to travel from Alaska to London for the company. Also, living in New Orleans, we had a flood in which case the whole store had to basically be torn apart. That was usually 85 hour weeks just because the whole store was flooded due to a busted water pipe during a little monsoon we had...lol I also deal with satellite TV's and wire maintenance and making sure any display is functional in the store. All kiosks, workstation, and registers are connected to the internet which is fed by Cat5 cables to a comm room. Coaxial cables carry sat, radio, and reg ant TV for feeding the walls, which the brains of the distribution is usually above the HEET wall where all the TVs are. Security on these are very delicate as if one is connected to an improper VLAN, it can compromise a customers security as well as the stores financial record and even credit card numbers. When the work is done I am usually helping the lower level employees do planograms and making gondola moves to get the project completed within the time frame we are given. During slow down periods which usually run from last November to early January we are doing minor planograms and doing store support. I love dealing with customers and building a report with them:)

AndyLish79
I used to help write missile defence software and radar training software for a civilian contractor at an RAF base which was quite fun but, ultimately, I got bored of where it was based (the middle of nowhere) and where I had to live (next to the middle of nowhere) so started again from scratch in the big city and worked my way back up to a programmer / analyst for a beer company. The work isn't that exciting but I get to exercise my brain solving problems with SQL Server, Perl, Python, etc. Plus I have managed to work it so that I am the only person who can do some of the business critical tasks so they can't easily get rid of me!
Sikatiiker
Studying automation engineering and don't know sh*t about that. It's pretty wide field and I guess I'll learn the practice by working someday unless I'll end up jobless because that's what most engineers nowaday do after graduation. Xxleonardo97xX
I'm a Business Economics student with a part-time job as a math tutor for high school kids. That part time job you have is very well paid in my country. Teachers teach at schools and give 'explanations' to students for 80-100€ per month per student. Some get quite famous and nearly make a 'monopoly of explanations' all because this is legal, they're at their homes and they don't have to pay taxes for doing it at home.
