Worst Game on Ps4 You Ever Played

Genuinely astounded this thread has gone on for 526 posts and nobody has mentioned the absolute hellscape of broken, buggy tedium that is Shoppe Keep: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/6609-shoppe-keep

I have a very high tolerance for "bad" games, as long as they're interesting somehow. This fails to clear that bar in every conceivable way.

Bronze medal: Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 - there were probably worse games that I don't recall, but this gets the award for being AA title. Also not from PS+, so it was actually my wallet that hurt. Terrible technical state, easily longest loadings on PS4, horrible game design, god awful story and broken controls. The game itself COULD have been fun, sniping wasn't the worst I've ever seen, but almost everything else was just shit.

Silver medal: Aaru's Awakening - I was actually angry when I played this game, thinking why would anyone make such unfun platformer. You know when you play a good 2d platformer and the flow is flawless and you feel absolutely in control? Well this is the exact oposite.

Gold medal: Dragon Fin Soup - It's one of those rare games which you just play for a minute and you know you would rather get hit with a crowbar in the shin than play another. The fact that it has broken trophies with unobtainable platinum and devs just said it won't get fixed ever is just icing on the turd.

Goat Simulator is a pretty bad game. In the beginning it can be pretty fun playing splitscreen with a friend but the game really doesn't have a 'main goal' or something. It's just run around and knock some stuff over.

Also, and I might get hated for this real bad, Dragonball Xenoverse 2. It's one of those games I sincerely regret ever buying, and installing, in the first place. Back in the day I used to play A LOT of Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (which I still think is the best Dragonball game ever made to his day) and I thought Xenoverse 2 would 'fill the void' that BT3 left me with. The game mechanics are horrible, the 'custom characters' feel incredibly stupid and lore breaking and the game is one big cashgrab (as I understand every single DLC character has to be bought, cosmetics are expensive and they just milk the game so badly as with every new movie or spin-off characters there will be they keep adding them). I'm a big fan of the Dragonball anime but this game kinda broke that for me.

I actually agree with you about Xenoverse 2, except for me the custom characters were the main draw - I liked building my own dude with whatever classic techniques/outfits/etc. were available to me. But yeah, once the novelty of that wore off, the game just wasn't fun at all. Combat was unsatisfying, most of the parallel quests were tedious, and half the game is just grinding said quests over and over for XP/loot. I quit before the DLC took off, but it definitely felt like they just lazily tossed in a new character whenever Super introduced them for a quick buck.

Sad thing is that the game is straight-up better than Xenoverse 1 in practically every way. At least you didn't suffer through both games. I would totally buy a Tenkaichi 3 remaster, by the way - those games ruled.

I can't put those at bad games because people will get upset but For Honor and Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville are my biggest let down of the past few years, if not past two decades.

- For Honor looked really interesting when i discovered it, PVE part was ... okay I guess. PVP was a pretty huge mess.

- PvZ : Battle for Neighborville, meh I'd rather forget about it. If you like PvZ games please stay away from it, it got shutdown and I'm VERY happy about it.

Hope they learn from this and make another decent PvZ game but I won't get my hopes up.

EDIT: also Freedom Wars, how could anyone find that to be a good game, it's horrible !

Orc Slayer: Not a good game because of poor elements and poorly made graphics!

Ultra Despair Girls (This is my opinion, Please don't attack me over this one): Unpopular opinion, I did not like the game and the series. I know you guys like the game and its series for various reasons. I just cannot get into it. It was the gameplay was abhorrent, the Genocide Jack's combat was ridiculously vile, the aimming was terrible, the music made my ears bleed, the story ain't nothing special and everything else was loatheful (At least it's for me) and at least it's an easy platinum but so many collectibles. People do liked the game, I really don't. I will go back to platinum that game eventually.

The absolute worst game was The Unknown City. I linked Jim Sterling, but you can mute him and still see the terrible, terrible nature of this game (Amazingly, he didn't even get to the absolute worst part, which is when you have to put together the golden gun, or whatever it was). Horror truly began then.

Kotodama gets a dishonorable mention here.

In regards to expectations, it might be Steins;Gate 0.

In regards to actual money spent, I'm thinking Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness.

You say you don’t like the series, but other Dangan titles aren’t anything like Ultra Despair Girls.

Honestly, and I know people will have Issue with this, but the last guardian.

I think the last guardian is one of the worst games I’ve played in a very long time. Yes, the game is pretty. Yes, the game can strike a cord with some people. Yes, the game controls so badly and unintuitively that it borders on unplayable.

It’s one of the only games for which I’ve given up on the platinum.

Yup, I am not a big fan of the Danganronpa series at all. 1, 2, and V3 is one of the games that had the class trials and UDG had the third person shooter type of game. I only do the PS4 version of UDG platinum and I'm done with the game forever also I'll never do the Vita version ever. I prefer the Ace Attorney games instead because I heard it looks fun. I'll do the Ace Attorney series eventually.

I'd recommend AI: The Somnium Files as I just finished it up yesterday and thought it was a tight experience.

For the most part, it's an interesting murder mystery. The main con however was the forced 'perversion' of the protagonist. As in 'Hey, look, it's a porn mag! Go read it while I escape!".

Best VN ever however is Muv Luv Alternative. I think it's only on PS Vita.

If it was its own game id probably say Red Dead Redemption 2s multiplayer, which is by far one of the worst gaming experiences I've ever had. Mafia 2 DE also comes to mind considering how buggy and unplayable it is. Bridge Constructor is also really bad and poorly made, although the idea of it is cool. Battlefield V is exactly Battlefield One but worse in every way. PUBG is also really garbage, at least on consoles. If I had to pick though, by far my least favorite game i've played (not on this acc) was The Hunter Call of The Wild. I know its supposed to be like real life hunting or whatever but that doesn't take away from the fact that its the most boring, lifeless and soul-less game ive ever had the displeasure of experiencing.

Mass Effect Andromeda. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about that game, and this is coming from a huge ME fan, who finished the original trilogy several times. Hell, I can even say that I don't really mind ME3's ending at all.

I've missed three or four trophies from my first playthrough, and every single time I've tried to start a new game to get the platinum, I either gave up shortly after landing on Eos, or after activating the first remnant vault.

Some people say to just ignore all the pointless sidequests and open-world busywork, but even after that we're still stuck with a mediocre ME game.

For me it's probably Assassin's Creed Unity. I don't have many games on my PS4 I actively dislike playing but good lord Unity made me pop a blood vessel. It was my first platinum trophy and could've been my last due to how buggy the game was. I brought it on the week of its release so I think that probably soured my experience to it as well, I'd been so hyped for it and I could barely play it for the 40-odd hours I needed for the plat. Shame as well because I'm a big history buff and the French Revolution is one of my favourite events... oh well.

Apart from that, probably just one of the PS+ games from yester year? I have a particular gripe with Sound Shapes but I think that's mainly my own inability to play platformers moreso than anything wrong with the game.
