I finally finished one of these tiers for the first time... it was about fucking time, I know, shut up!

I know some of you are already on Tier 5? but hey, I'm still happy with only one tier finished, lmao:

 

Hyper Light Drifter

I actually liked the game but that trophy list gave me aids. The gameplay is very reminiscent of Bloodborne's and I kinda liked the whole no text/dialogue gimmick even if it felt pretentious and frustrating at some points (good luck getting the right upgrades after deciding to Google for the best ones).

 

It took me 1 week, 5 days to complete this, why?

Because this game has one of the worst trophy lists ever. Just getting the 800 dashes in a row (it's as bad as it sounds) made me put the game on hold for a whole week afterwards. Who the fuck thinks that's a good challenge?

 

Wait, there's more:

Remember the early ps3 days with cancerous collectible trophies that had no tracking whatsoever? Remember how fun hunting for those damn shards was on inFamous? Well, get ready to relive said hellish early trophy hunting days when this game refuses to tell you how many bits you're missing on each of the 5 areas. "Oh you're only missing one? First of all, well done guessing how many you're missing since we're so stupid we won't even tell you how many you've collected so far, but yeah, time to hunt for all 190 bits again until you find that one you're missing!" Lovely.  

 

After dealing with the dashes and the collectibles the "hard part" was a breeze. The DLC boss rushes, the crippled NG+ playthrough, the no deaths playthrough felt like heaven. Believe me, it's the "easy" part you should be worried about. The 800 dashes trophy isn't even an ultra rare, fucking how? 

 

Oh as a final insult I had a brainfart moment and instead of loading up my NG+ save to farm for the rest of the 1K Deaths I mistakenly loaded my no-deaths save so after 2 hours of grinding I realized and had to laugh. I rubberbanded my controller for 3 more hours and finally popped it. 

 

Anyways, its a good game, just mind the shitty list and collectibles. Not really that hard, just super annoying and infuriating. 

 

Platinum Difficulty: 5/10

Time to platinum: Heavily dependant on The Eternal Dash trophy. 

 

After dealing with the 800 dashes I feel like I can finger anyone to death now. Yeah, just try me, motherfucker, this thumb is deadly now.

Dirt Rally (1.53%)

Difficulty: 8/10

Fun: 7/10

Time spent: over 100h

 

This is a hardcore rally game, as well as the first rally game I have ever had to play seriously. All my previous experiences with difficult racing games have developed my skills regarding "feel the car" so I wasn't too much dominated from the AI but I can imagine for a beginner, or even worse someone trying their first racing game, that they could just quit this game. If you have never played any racing game, don't start with this one.

This game has a serious problem, as the AI even at the easiest difficulty is way too good, in fact there are some trophies that require to be in the top 33,3% of some daily leadeboards against other real people and doing that is WAY easier than beating the AI at its easiest difficulty. Most of the time I spent was from restarting a race.

Eventually I had improved over time and I started to turn off the driving assists: I felt it was a horrible idea since I remember that doing that in Assetto Corsa makes it unplayable, but it actually works very well for dirt rally and I felt a massive improvement: yet, I had to retry for hours some races, with some of them being unbeatable for me (being dominated by 5-15 sec for every race for specific events, hopefully I could win almost all of the other events anyway granting me the win of the championship).

 

The platinum is quite grindy, as you have to win several championships with different cars which takes a lot of time not counting all the one spent in retrying a race. Lots of miscellaneous as well as getting the top tier for some online events but those are not a problem at all, I didn't even really need to boost my position with alt accounts, I did that for my first event although it wasn't necessary after all, so don't be afraid of these trophies as the real struggle comes from the SP.

Overally a good game but the AI is too hard making it hard to learn the game.

 

 

After this I can begin with Dirt Rally 2.0, hoping it isn't too different and that it is a bit more noob-friendly, but I will definitely finish Downwell first.

Not too bad of a plat (certainly one of the easier sub-1%s out there), though the Club mode grind to max out every song's Song Status can be rather annoying. Thankfully you can at least utilize a turbo controller to BS most of it, though eventually the game stops giving you the songs you need unless you actually try to play properly (and sometimes even then, you'll just get a bunch of maxed out songs anyway), which is easier said than done with all the visual fuckery the mode throws at you when you're doing well. You can at least intentionally do poorly whenever you go above Basic to just force the game to stay on Basic where the visual tricks are much easier to deal with, though it's still a slog nonetheless. Even worse, there's no way to pause at all, meaning that every single run of Club mode is basically a solid 40 minutes of playing without interruption, which is rather annoying as someone who occasionally gets called away to do stuff around the house.

 

In any case, not sure which game I feel like doing next. Might go back to Little Deviants or LBP3 or I might just go ahead and start something else from the tier.

Super Time Force Ultra 

 

This side-scroller overflows with personality. You choose from a roster of colourful characters with different combat abilities to progress through each stage. When you die (or if you choose to do so any other time), you rewind time back to any point in the stage and continue from there as a different character of your choice. Your actions deeper into the level remain. The result is that, for example, when fighting a boss, your pea-shooting character would be quickly overwhelmed, but after rewinding 9 times to create 10 copies of yourself, you melt the boss’ health 10x faster. 

 

 

Some of my favourite characters include Zachasaurus (a skateboarding T-rex), Squirty Harry (a poo with a revolver) and the leader of the Super Time Force himself, General Repeatski (complete with a chest covered in war medals and TWO eyepatches).

 

 

The levels and boss fights are fun and silly. Adapting to the difficulty is fairly straightforward. There’s an additional mode where you have to complete puzzles based on your mastery of the time-rewinding mechanic and each characters’ abilities. 

 

My favourite part was the Super Hardcore mode at the end of the game which requires you to re-complete the campaign except that each character is removed from your roster if they die in a stage. It’s a fun challenge and not at all as hard as folks in this thread would imagine (it’s not a "permadeath" situation). 

 

The 2.35% rarity is wayyyy too low. This is 15-25% rarity material. I recommend it!

Update: In Trackmania Turbo I'm in the black series now and the difficulty spike is crazy compared to the earlier stages of the game. Get the platinum or die tryin I guess? But I take my time with this game. Here and there few tracks and hopefully I will get the platinum. Great game. Some tracks were shit but it's a personal opinion I guess.

ROCK VS EDM!! 
A nice indie game with great voice actors, funny dialogues, great bosses, incredible soundtrack and overall a cool story (at least for me), The enemies attacks depends on the beat and rhytm and with the newest patch you can exploit the hardest difficulty. Instead of all 7 seven boss you have to do 1 legit because the Revearsal Sticker makes you unvincible except against a boss called Yinu. You can still die on the last boss phase. Normally "Parry Perfect" is a difficulty where you have to parry perfectly the attacks (obviously) or you die with one hit BUT there is also an exploid called "Zuke exploit" where you can revive yourself with a mod if you are fast enoough. It's called "One with the universe". The platinum is almost rare but if you still want a different but nice experience, just play it.

Except the big grind I enjoyed the game especially when playing online wItH dA boYs!!!

With Little Nightmares done, I've finished 9 games so far!



What a neat game this one is! I never usually dabble in the horror genre, but I figured this one would be a fun approach! ? The atmosphere and the world-building is great, as you control (in the base game) a little character named Six, who roams across a cluttered ship with lurking creatures and creepy chefs that all work to please the hungry masses... You'll meet these curious little gnome-like people who innocently try to survive alongside you, and things take quite a drastic turn near the end! Then there's the DLC, featuring an unnamed boy who, alongside Six, is making his own journey through the perilous ship... And once again, things again take a drastic turn! ? I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll leave it at that. The twists at the end of the respective stories are pretty wild, so I won't go into any further detail there.
As for the gameplay, it's heavily puzzle oriented, revolving around not only moving objects to assist in platforming, but even stealth sections as you hide from and avoid the peculiar individuals on board the ship. It gets pretty clever as some enemies move depending on what they hear, so you can use the machinery around you to distract them as you slip past. I'd say it gets particularly nerve-wracking during the final DLC chapter especially! However, I did find things a bit janky with grabbing detection on ladders and such, but overall I think the story is the defining feature of the game.

In any case, one more to go! I reckon I'll stick with Thumper as my last game since I haven't switched out anything so far. May as well dedicate it to the end!

EDIT: Nevermind! ? I was playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with some friends, and since I've nearly got that done (the PS5 version) I'll be swapping that in! One trophy to go!

It's been a while since my last update. Tamriel completely devoured me in the last 2 months but I am glad to be almost done with ESO. I had some great moments with the game but overall I haven't enjoyed my time that much. I also won't 100% the game before 2022 ends due to the way how DLC's are available to ESO+ members. (and emperor trophy probably wont happen this year either, lol).

 

I finished John Wick Hex and Kerbal Space Program in 3rd quarter, so no bounty for John Wick @Copanele.

 

Kerbal is a dream come true for any rocket scientist and I have never felt so out of place in a game before. The game apparently is used in actual classes to teach students (to what extend I don't know) and therefor you have to know what you are doing when playing this game, which I did not. If you downgrade the game to 1.00, you can use debug-menue to get all but two trophies. And boi one of these trophies was a goat-fuck. Have you ever seen the movie Interstellar? Remember the docking-scene? Yeah, thats how this last trophy felt. Luckily the debug-menue makes it a tad easier, but you have to build two ships that function and have docking parts built-in, send both into space and then try to dock them. The only guide that I could find for this trophy was an 1h30m video and after some inner-complaining why I play shit that I can't handle, I got my act together and spend 3-4h docking this two pieces of crap. I still don't really know how I got it to work out but it did, the trophy popped and that's it. Never again.

 

 

John Wick Hex out of all franchises gets a strategy game and many people discarded it as a let-down and bad genre-choice, but I have to disagree. Every time you make a move, your enemies move as well. Each action, move, shoot, reload, throw weapon, pick up weapon, cqc takes a specific amount of "time" in a timeline shown at the top of the screen. If an enemy prepares an attack at you the game shows you their next move and how long it takes on the time-line for them to execute their action. In that regard JWH becomes very methodical and each move has to be made cautiously and with a clear idea. This can lead to some very bad-ass executions where you put down enemy after enemy without them ever getting at you.

 

The game itself is surprisingly basic. Every action costs focus, which you only have a limited amount of until you need to refocus/recharge, combined with the time element thats basically it. You get bandages to heal yourself but for the platinum you can't use any for the best rating so I never used them to begin with. 

 

Each mission consists of several smaller locations that you go through and before starting you can use some continental coins to unlock a perk (only for that mission) or put a weapon box in one of the locations for you to pick up. There are plenty choices but you usually can only choose 2 or 3 things from 10-15. Most of them are pretty useless tbh. "Increase dodge chance while moving" was the go-to for me.

 

Lastly, the S-Ranks (Baba Yaga) have 3 requirements: Time (from the timeline, not actual time playing), no bandages and accuracy. Time is usually the one that can cause trouble and sometimes forces you to do some silly stuff or skipping a lot of enemies and hope you can exit the level (only possible if no enemies are near), causing too much RNG, which is the only thing I disliked about the game.

 

Overall I'd recommend the game, especially if you like strategy games.

 

 

GRIP: Combat Racing can fuck off. @Platinum_Vice basically said everything in his post already. They had a banger concept for a game, a massive OST which honestly has to be the best I've heard so far in any racing games and they fuck it up. GRIP, and all this game gives me is a slippery slope, shitty AI that puts you down every time weapons are allowed, and tracks that require you to brake more than to accelerate. You can reach Mach 1 speed, but guess what. Only possible on the oval track that never comes up after the first couple races. Like what? And don't even get me started on that Arena mode or their wanna-be Trials (yes the motor-cycle parkour game) mode. F this game.

 

Ever since I've played WipeOut, I'm desperately in search for similiar games but all are just sub-par.

 

 

Mortal Kombat X, your standard fighting game that earned a rather infamous reputation in our trophy hunter community because of the Invasion Tower trophies being unobtainable for several times, 9 months being the last one. I took the opportunity when it was available again in mid-october and finished the rest over a couple of days and then had to wait another 3 weeks for a specific challenge to appear. I suck at fighting games but that one was okay and manageable.

Time spent: over 20h

 

This is quite a fun platform/shooter where you fall through an (almost) endless well while killing/dodging enemies and also upgrade yourself properly during each run. The initial runs are a disaster and can easily demotivate you, but it is quite fun to constantly improve and start going fast rather than being super cautions.

My stats from exophase say 20h, although they felt way more. The first cleared run can take a while until you become confident against each enemy and improve both your accuracy about where you want to land and quick thinking about your next move, since you can only view a small area at once so when some enemies are suddently approaching you should react properly.

 

The second run will be Hard mode which has more enemies and has some changes for every area from Normal mode, you may spend more time here (I think it was the case for me) where you will improve even more to eventually complete the run with a good dose of luck.

That's pretty much the platinum trophy, the miscellaneous are very simple once you are good enough at this game..

Finally finished Power Rangers last week. This plat requires absolutely 0 skill, but it was still quite a chore to finish due to the annoying online grind. There are still way more randoms playing the game than I expected, so boosting it wasn't always easy, especially when trying to reach Master League. We had to wake up early mornings to boost as that's the only time where the game is dead and we could boost without much interruption, and even then we got hit with a rank reset because of the season ending, prolonging the grind. Getting to player level 700 after that wasn't all that bad because buying DLC characters reduces the time required quite a bit. Overall this game has a bad trophy list (it doesn't require to play the story at all for example), so I can't recommend it unless you really want that sub 1% plat and can actually self boost it.

 

As for my other games, the Quantum Theory boost is finally nearing the end, so I mostly just need to get the single player trophies done, and I also bought the Escape Plan DLCs, of which I finished the first 2, so that should be done soon as well.

What an awesome game... and the Nostalgia. Wow. It was like being a young kid again and controlling a Transformers movie

Finally another update^^
first i finally got Black ops 3 to 100%. found a nice teammate and got throught all the remaining estereggs. really happen to have this off my list

then i was able to motivate myself to finish team sonic racing which i enjoyed more than i thought so i went straight into anthoer racing game with f1 2013 which also has a UR plat 

that brings to me 1 games total which mean Tier 1 is complete and i got the first game done for tier 2

 

i also finished another killing floor 2 trophy that in fact is an UR even tho i think by now its 2 months old. anyway i would feel a bit dirty making that one count so i wont^^

alright thanks i have ps3 and ps4 still thinking if i going to use ps3 but i have digital games most of them is transformers digital ore disc game because i could not find it anywhere in a gamestore i want to play back on both consoles ps3 and ps4 but i dont know how i am going to do that since i play almost everyday on ps4

Finally, it's done... Verlet Swing takes the spot as one of the hardest games that I've completed, and also the game that I had the most fun playing this year. In Verlet Swing, you are basically Spider-Man and it's all about momentum, it's very hard to describe the game so I would recommend checking the video below to understand better. There are 100 individual levels that you have to get perfect on, I was having so much fun at some point that I decided to go for as much records as I could and I did end up with 93 of them, I still have like 80 of those but they are beatable and all it takes is someone skilled and dedicated enough.

 

There are two big challenges for the platinum, The Bird's Legacy and I am a god. For bird's legacy, despite the description, you have to beat all levels in less than 20 minutes, it's very hard and takes a lot of practice, but 20 minutes is a generous time. You'll definetely feel like a god after beating the second challenge, hardcore marathon is a deathless run with 30 of the hardest levels in the game, this trophy alone took me 30-40 hours and a few years of my life. Thought I should probably throw in another update after however long it's been since my last one..... I think it's approaching six months.... Ironically one of the games in my updated list contributed massively to that big gap.

 

Which one? Red Dead Redemption..... This is the downside when the only Ultra Rare trophies you have remaining are horrible online ones ...... At least it's finally done, and I can throw it onto the list of completed games.

This game contributed to probably the biggest and longest gaming burnout I've ever experienced, I just for whatever reason, one I'm not sure of, just could not enjoy the online at all!

 

It's not all bad though, I ended up really rediscovering a love of both Assassin's Creed and an even deeper love for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, after returning to that to mop up the rest of the online trophies. And because of the rules of this event, demanding 100% completion, I got so much enjoyment out of playing Brotherhood's DLC, it honestly surprised me so much how good that ended up being.

 

It also feels pretty nice to have finally put Dishonoured to bed (yes I know it's Dishonored..... I'm from the UK ?). The Dunwall City trials are definitely something else..... but, they do give you such a deeper appreciation of exactly how the games mechanics work.

They really do, the trophy I left until last basically required playing through the two Daud DLC's one more time each, and it is startling how fluidly you can play the game once you've mastered the controls and some of the mechanics from doing the Dunwall City Trials.

I'm not going to claim I did them all first try or anything like that, lots of them took many MANY attempts, but I had a whole lot of fun doing it. This game really does  hit you with that "just one more attempt" feeling, very often. But mostly I had rather enjoyed all of my just one more attempts  

 

After swapping out Warframe for Red Dead.... I guess it's time to just plug on with Puyo Puyo Champions, so that I can at least say that I completed Tier 1 this year.... which also means, if I do, that for whatever strange reason..... that I made a pact with myself, that I now have to play The Last of Us at some point..... No I can't explain why I haven't, yes I suspect I live under a rock....?
