Popular Post stuthesheep Posted December 30, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted December 30, 2022 Decided I'd be as well giving my final 2022 update now, since my trophy journey for the year is now at an end as I have work followed by pub tomorrow, with no doubt a dose of suffering, regret and pain for most of Sunday to look forward to. Just the usual then. Week 52 STARTING PERCENTAGE 80.11% Dragon Age: Inquisition 88% -> 91% Week 52 (and 2022) ENDING PERCENTAGE 80.16% (+0.05%) Again, bit of a recent recurring theme with not a huge numerical increase over the past week (or 5 days since my last update, whatevs) BUT all that's left plat-wise in Inquisition now is to beat the final boss. He went down reasonably quickly on Normal IIRC (it was a while ago now!) so I can't see him being too much trouble even on Nightmare. Famous last words etc etc. Trophy progress this week has been completing the bulk of the DLC3 "Trials". Successfully navigated the trickier ones, but ended up deciding to leave one until the very end. One of the Trials involves getting to a certain point of the game without going above level 5, which wasn't too tricky. It has meant that that character is a bit squishy compared to where they would be on a regular playthrough of the game though, which isn't too much of a problem under the circumstances really. However the last Trial involves conquering a late game castle and I reckon going in against Level 16ish enemies with my Level 6 character doesn't sound like fun times, even on Casual difficulty, so that trophy can wait until my Nightmare character has saved the world and can roam free. I've decided to think of it as a 100% completion victory lap and after what must be approaching 200 hours of work, I think I've earned it. Brilliant game though, enjoyed almost every minute. Damn those trebuchets though.... I could theoretically finish it off now, but holding off getting the plat for a couple of days so I can use it in a couple of shiny new 2023 challenges, it would be a waste having it as my 8/10 for the Difficulty 2022 when I didn't manage a 7 or a 10 either this year. I figure a head start will maybe inspire me to actually attempt a 10/10 at some point next year. But probably not. Overall for the year? This topic/event/thread has been superb to keep the focus and I've really enjoyed contributing to it, it's been quite cool having a blog-type account of what I've played this year and I totally would have given up on quite a few things (hello Chapter 2 of Akumu!) if I hadn't had the thought of having to admit I was a giant wimp in a weekly update running through the back of my mind! It's been fantastic following everyone's progress through the year and hopefully a massive chunk of you carry on updating us. Finally a massive shout-out to @Squirlruler for the monthly updates and @kingofbattle8174 for giving us all a home over the last 12 months, if I ever find myself Stateside I'll buy you a beer. It was great reading everybody's story's. For me it was a success as in the end I reached a 5.85% increase. Finished 27 games including their DLC and have some on their way. Added some ultra rare platinum's to the collection (BF2042, FIFA17 and Zombi). Finished games I never thought I would revisited let alone finish. Looking forward to next year! So here is my last report of the year: FIFA 18 - PS4 Started to chip away on this version too. If I can get the remaining pro-clubs trophy done I should be good to get a platinum for this one too. It is amazing how this series has actually improved over the years. This one feels pretty clunky compared to the current FIFA23 one Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - PS4 Got one trophy left before the platinum. Killing 10 people through bullet penetration. As this is my only left, it shows that actually sounds easier than it is. Nowadays the community is more hardcore and definitely not so stupid to stick around penetrable surfaces. Oh well, it will come I guess. currently enjoying playing it anyway. Spirit of the North - PS5 Just started this game. Had this on my ' still to play' list. Looks like a nice experience. Only got through chapter one. Current status Enjoy the last day of the year and cheers to a good start of 2023! I had an off year which is ok. I got too bogged down with multiplayer games, although I enjoyed them they did keep me most of the year. The bad thing is that in both games i made progress but not the plat. Fall guys i made it to 1 trophy away before the new list went live. I did though get more progress than I thought I would ever have, including Infallible. I just ran out of time and drive to get those last 10 race wins. I also started alot of games and experimented with even more but completed only a few. It is ok though. I got the game collecting bug in the second half of the year as well. I have gone on to about double or so my physical collection. Now i have a full shelf of rpg’s. I sold my ps4 after I got a ps5 for fathers day and my vita collection as I was just looking into collecting and it would be a great start to flip. The vita is just too expensive to buy for anymore. Maybe next year or after the prices crash a bit i will track one down. I still have some product to flip so I will keep doing so and keep my collection going without going broke. I also got really into YouTube this year. I really have enjoyed watching some of the other trophy hunters there and it has kicked off my drive again. Not to keep up with them but to complete things I know I am capable of completing. I have watched alot of backlog videos and they help immensely. I am really glad how much everyone enjoys this event. Been a bit unwell this past week, but managed to finish off Plague tale: Requiem, which I did enjoy. Gameplay wise, it improves on the first game quite a bit, visually its really quite pretty, and the storyline is well done. And thus we reach the end of the year. Smashed my original goal of 95%, and manged to knock out quite a few of my longstanding unfinished games form my collection. I spent most this year playing games for other challenges, assuming my completion would rise.. eventually. It took a bit longer to reach my completion goal that way, but I definitely enjoyed playing longer, more difficult games in between my usual walking sims. It's been a cracking year. Finishing long standing games like Battlefront II and Battlefield V were massive milestones and I wouldn't have done it without this event. Big thanks to @Squirlrulerand @kingofbattle8174for doing all they did in sorting this event out. I didn't hit 55% but I did do easily over 5% because I started a handful of games and still finished 3.3% above where I started (roughly speaking). Signed up for next year. Urban Trial Freestyle (PS3) - The 100% completion is at less than 1.5% on this one and for good reason. The time trials and trick attack scores to complete this game are brutally difficult. This one took some serious perseverance on my part. 2. ...Becomes the Master trophy from Titanfall 2 - I know the amount of people that have this trophy are relatively high, but for me (someone who is AWFUL at FPS games with a controller) this trophy took a lot of dedicated practice and I wasn't confident I'd ever get it for a while there. 3. Tubular! trophy from Outer Wilds DLC - The amount of tries it took me to pull this off were ridiculous. And the set-up required to even get a single attempt took a lot of time. I was cheering and high-fiving myself when I finally managed it. Game I enjoyed the most: Nobody Saves the World - Fantastic dungeon crawler with a wonderful sense of humor and incredibly fun and satisfying gameplay. Nobody should miss this gem. Game I enjoyed the least: Sly 3 - I really enjoyed Sly 1, but Sly 2 and 3 really did not click with me, and I'm not sure why. Sly 3 gets the nod here because some of the challenges required for the Sly 3 plat were unbelievable infuriating to me. Goals from the beginning of the year: I posted some goal for myself at the beginning of the year here in this thread... Let's see how I did! Goal 1: Complete the following very old backlog games: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - last trophy: Feb 2012 Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (PS3) - last trophy: July 2013 Uncharted 2 Remastered (PS4) - last trophy: Jan 2017 Uncharted 3 Remastered (PS4) - last trophy: March 2017 COMPLETED! Goal 2: Finish off Resogun DLC's. COMPLETED! Goal 3: Choose one of the following difficult ultra rare plat games from my backlog and complete it: Downwell Jamestown+ Titan Souls Hyper Void (non plat game) Urban Trial Freestyle (non plat game) COMPLETED! Goal 4: Crack 100,000 in the World rankings COMPLETED! Goal 5: Get my unearned trophies below 600. Sort-of completed - I got down to 540 or so before starting a bunch of games at once over the last week or two. Goal 6: Reach the 100 platinums milestone. (currently at 76) COMPLETED! Popular Post StilRh Posted January 1, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted January 1, 2023 Happy new year guys In 2022 I went from 51.98% completion to 53.3% - not my 5% goal but I think I've done well considering the emergencies at work, getting Covid a few times and a bereavement impacting my gaming time and focus. Even though it felt like a bit of a drought lately I actually got a respectable 26 platinums, none of them cheap! Although I had a few spending splurges during summer and winter sales which tanked my percentage completion a lot, I think I've been much better at not impulse buying newer games and playing older games in my backlog (for enjoyment not the sake of completion). I think the best thing about this and the other challenges (like the seasonal backlog challenges hosted by @MidnightDragon) is the exposure to a tonne of excellent games that I've enjoyed on my list or vicariously through you guys. My gaming goals for 2023 would be to continue to work towards 55% and then in subsequent years hopefully 60% and ultimately 75% (I think anything higher than that unrealistic in terms of compatability with my life). I would like to complete more indie titles in my backlog, particularly roguelikes, metroidvanias and crafting games. I'd like to complete more horror games and CRPG -experiences I love but generally translate into hard platinums. I think 2023 would be a good year to start looking at more challenging platinums too - need to think about what time I can invest before I embark on this. Final week of the year was very productive. I finished Ragnarok last Saturday or Sunday. Finished BioShock 100% after 14 years. Smashed out 2 platinums - Syphon Filter 2 and 11-11: Memories Retold. I finished the year working on the main story quest for TESO. When I started this event at the beginning of last year I thought I would be lucky to get a 2% increase let alone a 5% one. As time went on though I found ways to eek out little percentages here and there and managed to finish off games that I had written off for various reasons. I was also able to play some new games, though not as many as I would have liked. Overall it was a good year and I am looking forward to the next one. I told in another post that i would combine both November and December (mostly because of my poor trophy gains in November). In November i only got 3 trophies (yes, you are reading well). The first one was regarding the MP introduction in Uncharted 4. The other two, involved the game "Bleach: Brave Souls" (which i intend to get at 100%). December got me resolved to complete all the Castlevania games i possess (in honor of a good friend that is deceased), so i tried my best but work and commitments with the family because of Christmas reunions, got in the way. Neverthless, i plunged in 3 games: 1.- Castlevania: Requiem. Got 4 trophies there, Tried to complete "Rondo of Blood" but i realized i lack practice, so i concentrated on Symphony of the Night. 2.- Bleach: Brave Souls. Got the trophies for alotting 100 wins in Brave Battles and defeating 5000 enemies overall. That leaves me with only the trophy for getting 250 wins in Brave Battles, to get and collect another 100% to my profile. 3.Castlevania: Advance Collection. Buyed this little beauty when it was on sale (12 dollars) and i'm not regretting it. Started with "Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance" for chronology reasons and my last trophy of the month was for defeating the devil in the first castle. Got 5 trophies of the game, at the moment. Plans for January: 1.- Completing the trophy list for "Bleach: Brave Souls". 2.- Tackling the rest of the trophies for "Yugioh: Legacy of the Duelist" in honor of Kazuki Takahashi (already got the 100% for "Master Duel") and planning to get both 100%'s for 5D's Decade Duels Plus and Master Duels in the PS3. 3.- Continuing the trophy hunting in both "Castlevania: Requiem" and "Castlevania: Advance Collection". maxfighter23___ Posted January 7, 2023 Share Posted January 7, 2023 i do al my digital games 280 and 100 ps plus games i do my disc games later because the real challenge are my digital games and i want to have them done for to increase my completion i play back every day 1 game at a time i hope i increase it to 25 and above i got 1 question why is psn rarity from trophies different then psnprofiles for example persona 5 original is 2.2 ultra rare on psn but not on psnprofiles ?
