Popular Post Zanreo
Double update this time! For light green, I got A Hero and a Garden, cute little VN/clicker game. ...Not sure what color to choose for this one, really, but the light green hair stands out to me at least, if only by contrast to the surrounding colors? For orange, I got Neko Atsume (the logo stands out against the faded background, and orange is the dominant color there), FINALLY got the last cat memento after 60 visits. Cute, but has much less stuff than the mobile version, and I feel it would be more enjoyable if I had VR. Still, I overall enjoyed it aside from waiting for RNG to give me those last few gifts... (let me know if there are any issues with the placements! I could maybe move AHAAG to grey and River City Girls somewhere else?) Popular Post damcrac5
Finally, an update. To be fair, I could've posted after the first completion, but life has been busy. I'm a bit tougher on my ratings. 5/10 is my good enough to recommend score. I'm not a fan of everything being in the 8-10 range. Maroon Was always a game I wanted to play, but didn't have the reason to move it up the priority list. Thanks to this event, I got to play this one earlier than I would have. Nothing amazing about the game, but it was fun, casual, and not difficult. Followed a collectibles guide by Trophy Tom and everything worked like a charm in 1 playthrough, approximately 14 hours. Being a PS+ Extra game makes this a great game for the event, and has an autopop if you're into that kind of thing. Easy recommendation. 7.5/10 Grey I'll be honest with this one. I knew it was short, but for some reason, the picture for the game and platinum just looked really cool to me and I decided to go for it.. The game was decent. Only one real puzzle, but an interesting enough story to keep me interested. Not as good as a story as Soma, but still worth the 4 or so hours I put into it. Followed another guide by Trophy Tom for the collectibles, though it does show a bit more of the game than maybe some would like. I will say I have one collectible not count and didn't pop the trophy. The work around is to make sure you grab all of the magazines, 6 in total, one in each area, in a single play session. They are all near the beginning of each area, get it, push to an auto save then go get the next. If you're looking for a grey and have PS+ extra, this is another title I'd say give it a go. 5.5/10 I'm off to clean up an older title in Uncharted 4. This will leave one incomplete game on my profile. The real question, is what color it could possibly be? It's kind of white and or a haze blueish grey... What are your thoughts? Popular Post zizimonster
I've ventured into a fantastical land, a distant planet, an upside down world, and a city full of dorks. All in four vidya gaems! Light Blue: Omno I did not see any trailers before playing, and oh boy... this game had cool powers to play with. Truly awesome powers. You gotta check it out if you're subscribed to PS Plus Extra. Grey: Planet Alpha No platinum, no problem. I grabbed it on sale solely for its great graphics, but the game had issues with its wonky camera placement, which made a few enemy encounters kinda troublesome. You'll know it when you play it. Green: The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk I played its prequel for first time many moons ago, so I figured I had to grab the sequel. It's your "standard" point-and-clicker just like Deponia quadrilogy but with awkward controls... until you get used to it. Tan: MechaNika For around a dollar, it wasn't bad at all other than the quickest point-and-clicker plat I've ever obtained. It even became my fastest plat. ?
Popular Post Hurricane_Tanya
Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders for brown. I guess it could work for tan, but with that wooden floor and the person lying in shadow it seemed brown enough to me. I love detective games and I’ll give even the most mediocre one a go…which is just as well because this is not a good detective game. I enjoyed the puzzles, although I found it funny how everybody seemingly had to have complicated puzzles to keep their keys/jewellery/record player safe, but the actually deductive work was too easy. You can’t fail, and, even in the playthrough where you have to make mistakes, the other characters just tell you the answers anyway. I’m glad I played it while it was on ps plus and I’d still be willing to give the other Poirot game a try if it was ever on a big sale. Hopefully it’ll be harder.
Popular Post Taruta13
So I made another swap. I decided to swap out Rogue Galaxy. I do plan on playing it as it's part of my Backlog of the Month, but it'll be held for later this year. Right now, I want to celebrate my 100th platinum with a bluesy... Did you know that Shantae's original clothing was blue? So yeah, I surprise traded away a cool blue Bisharp... for a Japanese Magikarp owned by a Korean. With that, the right side of my card is now complete. (I'm basing the blue on the blue seascape on the top of the icon. I know about 50% of the icon is black and 20% of the seascape is a lighter blue but I feel it fits.) This is the PS5 version of the game, which is a separate trophy list with the same trophies. So I decided to play it again. (I also needed a Metroidvania for my Bingo Bonzanza.) While nothing really changed, I can say the PS5 version is much faster because it has no loading screens with Shantae dancing! The PS4 version was one of my first platinums and I decided that this cool half-genie girl would be on my 100th stamp because I really enjoyed this game even if the collectibles frustrated me a bit. My Rule Breaker run was over 8 hours as I didn't remember where half of the stuff was, but eventually I got through it. I might make one more swap before I settle on the final list. Maybe swap out Maroon. I know, I'm a hypocrite fake Dragon Quest fan but I feel like the four RPGs I have set in the warm color spectrum are more than long enough to last six months. And if I am lucky, I might start a new card in July! Popular Post ArtikSkarab
Still garbage at writing down updates; here's what I've got so far. Thoughts about completed Games: White - Jack N' Jill DX: While a simple platformer with a really basic Ratalaika list; I went through the whole game and it gets pretty intense. Being controlled by only 1 button for everything actually has a lot of variety with wall jumps, enemy bounces, flapping through enemy-filled tunnels and more. Worth a play if on sale in my opinion. Yellow - The Artful Escape: I was really bored through this game. The main idea of self-doubt of the MC is good, but it feels too wishy-washy for me. At least it's short and linear. Tan - Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders: I like myself a good mystery and it's really interesting to go back to one of the seminal stories in the genre. It's a basic point-and-click adventure/deduction game with a cut trophy list compared to the Steam/Xbox releases. It's also interesting that the biggest remaining trophy in the list is the make 8 incorrect conclusions and not a perfect run.Pretty easy to go through with a guide. Purple - Saints Row: The Third Remastered: It's a weird feeling to go back to an older open-world game and it being a lot more sparse compared to the modern ones; especially the modern Ubisoft type. While the humour won't be for everyone, it's still a fun romp. Deep Purple - Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel: I forgot how much I hated modern Yu-Gi-Oh. When I did the PS4 stack near release, it was a lot easier as most people didn't have super streamlined decks; now you need to know what you're doing to get to the Platinum ranks. So happy to be done with it. (I know the image looks more black than purple; it's a lot more apparent on the PS4 image. Feel free to veto it) Blue - The Flower Shop: Summer in Fairbrook: A pretty basic Visual novel with a smidge of farming/managment. Basic 2 hour game that has simple romantic writing, no real depth, but does have a good twist on the stat system. (I know the blue looks light, but I have a way lighter blue for that. Light Green - Pure Farming 2018: On the other side of the farming coin, here's a big game all about farming; hope you like it, cause that's all you'll be doing. It's simple, but I recommend having a lot of podcasts to go through as it can get pretty dull. I do technically have another game that could be filled in, but I need confirmation if it works in the Black category: Injustice 2. (Leaning on Yes, but want second opinion) I do have games planned through the year for the Difficulty Challenge and I know some of them fit; the only ones I have left to figure out are Orange, Red, Brown and Maroon. (and maybe Black?) Edited February 19, 2023 by ArtikSkarab
Popular Post ExistentialSolid
I'm a couple months late, but I'd be glad to join in too! Most of the games I've played this year are statistic boosters of sorts and not really representative of the experiences I'd seek out if trophies weren't a thing. As such, it'd be great to use this event as a space to talk about some of the games I've picked up for fun this year (ideally, I'll be able to look back at a whole list of games I loved). I'll be getting a PS5 soon, so I'm especially excited to start catching up on everything I've missed! Now, despite everything I've just said, my first entry began as another ordinary statistic booster, but its story was so captivating that I couldn't help but include it in my list... Torment: Tides of Numenera [Black] - My journey through this gritty narrative-driven RPG began with $3 and a guide over on TrueAchievements that painstakingly outlined every last decision I'd make from the game's opening until the credits rolled, from dialogue options and looting locations to step-by-step battle instructions and equipment loadouts. All I had to do was set aside my sense of agency and strap in for the ride. If I wanted to, I could've skipped the story altogether and mashed my way towards an easy platinum, but I chose, out of a lingering curiosity, to read along. For over 40 hours, I was funneled along an adventure as The Last Castoff, a cold, vindictive amnesiac—at least insofar as I could infer from the guide author's carefully curated decisions. Conversations with the game's many NPCs were often brief and to the point, as though I were a time traveler, privy to all the information I ever needed and dead set on triggering a specific set of events. Large chunks of world building and exposition may have been lost on me as the Castoff marched impatiently towards their pre-determined fate, but I couldn't help but get engrossed in the pieces of the story I was able to experience. The game's author could paint a picture with words so... effortlessly... as though breathing were a greater strain on his faculties than the words with which his pen exhaled. Descriptions of environments, people, and experiences flooded my mind with images both ordinary and bizarre, tinged with a sort of gruesome beauty. Absentminded daydreams would slowly creep from the fabric of these images, consuming my imagination until I regularly found myself in a stupor, having idled in thought for minutes on end. Discussions on philosophy, war, and the human condition only prolonged these idling sessions as I began to lose myself in the author's grand design. To say I "understood" the story of Torment: Tides of Numenera might grossly misrepresent my experience. There are NPCs I've never spoken to, questions I'll never find the answers for, events I'll never get to experience, and terminology I couldn't begin to explain to you. I'm not even sure I could give you a satisfactory summary of the plot... but I'll certainly never forget my time spent reading.

I have Torment in my backlog – it was stupidly cheap, and I'd recently finished playing Disco Elysium and was on the lookout for similar games. As with so many games, it's sat languishing there ever since. How long would it take to get the platinum for this if you wanted to do a blind playthrough, rather than follow a guide? I don't really like to play games where I have to follow a step-by-step guide to get the platinum in as few playthrough as possible. That being said, I also don't really have the time to play 50+ hour games 3-4 times either.... and Torment sort of looked like one of those games on closer inspection ha.
Taruta13
So.... Unfortunately, I thought that my four-year old niece could co-op Chicory: A Colorful Tale, because an article said this game was easy to co-op, and the controls were simple - one person moves and uses the paintbrush while the other moves the character. Right? Well, turns out that four years of age is not old enough to handle a PS4 controller as my niece was having trouble moving the analog stick and holding down the X button, so the cursor kept hitting the sides of the screen. I got a bit frustrated. Didn't help that she was miserable because she has cedar allergies. The play date lasted fifteen minutes before I sent my nieces home to breakfast. So I earned the first trophy inadvertently and now have to commit. Since the mechanic is painting with color, this game might end up being on my card, taking out Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age in its place(because the background is very white). Yes, I probably should have used my trash accounts for this, but I didn't think ahead. 1 hour ago, Finch_III said: How long would it take to get the platinum for this if you wanted to do a blind playthrough, rather than follow a guide? I think that Existential just answered your question. If you don't have the time, there's no point in doing the crime. (rimshot) Not trying to scare you away, but just letting you know that you should be aware that you have two options: (A) Go in blind and stumble through until you get to the end after a year or (B) follow a guide written by someone who did the stumbling for you and give up your agency. I tend to be camp B most of the time. Edited February 19, 2023 by Taruta13

Popular Post shxrpay
Adding a game for Light Blue, I decided to finally play Resident Evil 2. Fun game for sure, although the amount of playthroughs needed for the plat slightly soured the experience (I ended up doing 6 in total). I would have had to do 8, but I made the choice to combine the S-Rank and Hardcore playthroughs to shorten the time. Looking at the guide for the DLC I expected a tough time, but it wasn't too bad and it ended up being a cool, short extra mode that broke up the monotony a bit since all the campaigns are very similar. Very enjoyable though, I went in knowing I'd have a good time with it since I absolutely loved playing through RE7. Combat is fun, just the right amount of backtracking, the puzzles aren't terribly hard or easy, and the story was good too. Not much more you could ask for in my opinion. Popular Post Xylobe
Update day! This time it's the PS+ special: Axiom Verge 2 for pink and Syphon Filter for grey. I'd been working on the just-released Backfirewall_ for purple, but that choice backfired when I encountered a softlock glitch towards the end of the game, so I had to scramble a bit to adjust my plans. Also, the longer I looked at it, the less convinced I was that there was any argument in favor of putting Heaven's Vault in yellow over tan, so I've moved it accordingly. I didn't have much in the way of effusive praise for the first Axiom Verge, so I'm happy to report that Axiom Verge 2 is really good. Everything that worked in the first game was kept and refined, and everything that didn't was either reworked, replaced, or scrapped entirely. I realize leaving things like that is obnoxiously vague, but this is yet another one of those games that does enough cool and unexpected things that I'd hate to spoil any. I don't want to make it sound like a perfect game - there are still some real head-scratchers in terms of design - but it's darn close to a perfect sequel. I'll also add that the trophy glitches it had when it was free on PS+ have been fixed, and everything popped exactly when it was supposed to for me. Syphon Filter, on the other hand, is one of those games that really just puts in perspective how much better games as a whole have gotten as the medium has matured. Going back more than one or two console generations, I've found it becomes difficult to feel anything but underwhelmed, annoyed, or bewildered, unless it's a game I played when it was current. I've played a decent number of PS2-and-earlier games for the first time over the last couple of years, and regardless of critical acclaim or cult followings, I can say that the only one I earnestly enjoyed was Final Fantasy VII. To be clear, there are loads of '90s into early '00s games that I love; it's just that they're the ones I did play back then, and playing a game like Syphon Filter for the first time in 2023 makes me question how much of that love comes down to nostalgia and habit. But hey, at least the stronghold level looked like Bloodborne, so that was neat. I'll also throw in a quick word for Backfirewall_, even though I won't be able to use it for my list: it's yet another of the first-person puzzle/adventure games that I can't stop playing, this one being set inside the circuitry of a smartphone and indexing heavily on humor. When it comes to gamers trying to be funny, I expect it to fall flat on its face pretty much 100% of the time (see Demetrios), but Backfirewall_ managed to get some laughs out of me, and I was impressed by just about all of the voice actors' performances. The story had just gotten into some unexpected turns, so I'm quite disappointed about being unable to finish it until a patch releases (I think it's already had a hotfix on PC, so hopefully soon). If you like the genre, I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye on it. I'm getting close to the end of this list, so I may start thinking about a second one soon, but for now my plans are Dark Cloud for purple, What Remains of Edith Finch for white, Firewatch for yellow, and probably the PSVR2 release of Moss for light green (potentially swapping it with PvZ on green, depending on what exact color the game image ends up being). 6 hours ago, Taruta13 said: I know that the game is a fan favorite, I was just worried about the bosses. If necessary, I think there's even an option to skip them somewhere in the menus. It's a great game, so I hope you enjoy it! Just forgot that she's only four so her fingers are too small for the analog stick. I might let her come over and watch me play the game, and I'll read the text to her like a storybook. The game is very kid-friendly, though if it is possible to skip some bosses, I'll probably do so for her sake since they look a bit scary. EDIT: No matter. I was going to swap FFXII for this as the White entry because the game icon was mostly white, but I screwed up my platinum count. This was going to be Platinum #109... but I played too much POWGI and now have my first ten platinums after #100 be the pun-cracking dog. That means SaGa Frontier gets pushed back to #120 and FFXII stays on the card... at least for now. Edited February 21, 2023 by Taruta13

I've got Disco Elysium sitting in the backlog myself! I keep waiting for the "perfect" time to play it, but I might be better off just taking the plunge one of these days before years pass and it's still haunting the place. If you're thinking about going into Torment blind, a single blind playthrough might last anywhere between 30-50 hours depending on the number of people you talk to and the amount of side content you engage with. Unfortunately, the road to the platinum is so complex without a step-by-step guide (almost every in-game quest is missable or can end in failure among other factors), that I'm not sure I could give you an accurate ballpark figure for how long it would take. I think 100-150 hours should be doable if you reference the less hand-holdy PSNP guide for any missing trophies after your first blind playthrough, but it's tough to say for sure. If you're torn, something I wish I had done looking back was completing one blind playthrough to experience a more personalized version of the story before following the step-by-step guide for the rest of the trophies. This way, you'd earn the platinum in around 60-90 hours and get much more out of the game and the narrative. I don't like following step-by-step guides either, but you'll save yourself a ton of time and frustration in the long run if you include it in one of your playthroughs.
Popular Post DrunkenEngineer
Second color down! BLACK - The Evil Within Dopey melodramatic survival horror storyline with sort of rubbery controls, but outstanding environments and monster designs save the day. AKUMU mode is really more annoying than anything; there are so many speedrun guides available that this mode is more of a exercise in perseverance rather than pure skill. Very fun game though, and I enjoyed the 3 playthroughs needed to 100% the game. The DLCs were something else, they definitely didn't feel tacked on. The final DLC, where you play as one of the major bosses, was especially cool. This is a bit of a long one, clocking in around 45 hours if you use guides. Speaking of which, check out Jigzaw_Killer on YouTube for all the good tips and tricks!
Popular Post JayDeLosDioses
Sorry, been a while since the last update, another two games done. WHITE - Bloodshore is an interactive movie by the same people who made The Complex. It reminded me a bit about a movie called Guns Akimbo with Daniel Radcliffe. Been more fun than it should have been, but by this point I shouldn't be surprised by FMV games, nearly all of them been way better than I expected them to be. BLUE - Ninja Break I thought about this one because I don't want to cheat this with easy games, yes it's a 15 minute platinum, but here's the deal with those Break games, and why they're my favorite type of plat-grab game. As a small little Jayjay I've been playing a game with my dad called DX-Ball, which is pretty much the same game but with 1996 graphics and every time I start them up I get a bit nostalgic. I'm working on getting those "... Break" games to 100% when I have "nothing" to play, or am annoyed with another game. Because it reminds me of better days with my dad who's been not the same since he had cancer and beat it. Won the battle, so FU cancer, but lost his happiness on the way, not really a win in the end. It's going to be the only game of this kind on the list. Wouldn't be a challenge otherwise. Colors planned: Yellow - Cyberpunk 2077 Red - The Ascent or Far Cry 6. Maroon - Guardians of the Galaxy probably, I think it's free with PS+ Extra, but should be cheap to get in a sale too. Purple - that new Spongebob game, as soon as it gets a nice sale on it. Green - One Piece Odyssey, but waiting on a sale again. There's too much being released, can't buy all the games Grey - my favorite PS4 game, Witcher 3, but this time the PS5 version. Black - I've been thinking about adding Hogwarts Legacy, but I'm also working on Elden Ring again, and that would be the cooler black (PS4 picture). Or Remnant from the Ashes, or maybe even Stray. If I get the planned games done, I'm missing a pink game, a light green game and a brown game.
Popular Post Sendai-Horatio
Here's my first update I have many of the spaces filled, but some I'm the bit on the fence on. Does Dark Cloud's title card count as Maroon? I mean it doesn't look red, but it's not fully purple or black either, and the border is tan. I also can't seem to work Anno: Mutationem in anywhere since the primary color is pale flesh. Anyways just 6 more games to go. Thanks for responding. Yeah, sorry, I probably wasn't massively clear in my first post. I don't mind following a step-by-step guide for my second playthrough – Thankfully, I'm not a total purist who wants to figure everything out by themselves! But I do like my first playthrough to be blind So 60-90 hours seems like a nice estimate. Thanks a lot. RE: Disco Elysium – it's probably my favourite game of the last 5 years. I absolutely loved it. It's also not massively long, so you can do a blind playthrough and not worry about trophies much at all really. It's my favorite in the detective genre, and a strong contender for the coolest game I've played in general. The furthest thing from mediocre or hand-holdy. I have heard great things about it, and it’s on sale at the moment so I think I’ll get it. I can use it for my purple game.
Popular Post Squirlruler
Time for an update! I decide to Biomutant to Brown. I liked the game. Nothing crazy ground breaking or anything but I found it enjoyable. And Maroon! Guardians of the Galaxy. I am not being on the whole superhero genre, never really cared for it, comic books etc. Played this game because there is a Game of the Month event on a discord I am part of. It was fine. Nice little romp. Some chuckles, some annoyances, did like the combat. That was fairly good. So I decided to go back to Final Fantasy X-2. I have finished the main game and working on Last Mission (which is absolutely amazing and way better than the base game, on floor 30 or so of 80), but I don't think I am going to be able to slot it! BOOOO. Next working on Final Fantasy 7 Remake, have the grindy parts to do. Not sure if I will be able to slot that one either, but will be setting it up for a milestone. Lastly, will be working on Dark Souls. I think I WILL be able to slot this one. I am really liking how my board is turning out.
