Popular Post OzaXD
#1 Pain (0.09%) Difficulty: 8/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 Pain is a unique sandbox style game where the player must launch the character using a giant slingshot, attempting to hit various objects and obstacles in order to damage the environment as well as the character attempting to cause as much pain as possible. After initially aiming the slingshot the player is able to move the character by "Ooching" via the dpad as well as grabbing or throwing various objects. A run is over when the player character is no longer moving (has no current velocity) thus learning to abuse the ooch timing in order to maximize distance moved in order to the ooch to recharge is vital, allowing the player to travel long distances. The hardest challenges were King of PAIN requiring the player to earn all in game trophies on the first level, and perfecting as various minigames in order to access different levels for various trophies. Pain was very interesting first choice for me to begin my PS3 journey with but I guess I was allured by the rarity and some of the interesting trophy names... While the 100% for the game is astronomically low, the difficulty was nothing to extreme although there is quite a large learning curve to begin with. Pains list is really weird as the trophies fall into two categories, very specific niche action required to pull off in the level (which I personally enjoy these kind of trophies), or random ass grind for literally 0 reason (ie hit an explosive box on a specific stage 500 times). It's pretty sad when some of the trophies are really well designed and others seem so meaningless but this was one of the very first PSN games to receieve trophies so it's clear the expectations were still a bit unknown. I ended up listening to podcasts or music for most of my playthrough as you've heard literlaly everything pain has to offer after playing for 5 minutes and the sounds a re quite obnoxious, ontop of the insane amount of patience required. In regards to the learning curve, in my opinion after learning how to initally launch properly which is not hard at all theres only a single trick you need to learn which is abusing the "ooch" mechanic. The ooch meter has 4 charges and seems to fill every ~2.5 seconds although using another ooch will delay this. I found the first 2 initial ooches seemed to be more powerful than the last 2, thus using the first 2 charges and waiting for a reset then using the newly reset charges was the best tactic by far although the timing was quite tight as if you didn't use the freshly reset charges almost instantaneously you would lose all momentum and the run would end. Once I had nailed this timing the options were pretty much endless as a run would only really end if I ooched into an obstacle or had to do a tight turn (which was required for quite a few trophies). It was pretty cool to see the difference from when I first played to how I was able to abuse this mechanic towards the end of my completion, but in saying that there wasn't the most depth to it so I'm glad the list didn't overstay it's welcome. The most miserable part for me wasn't even the multiple grinds but a few of the horrendous minigames I needed to earn a platinum medal on. Mingames are broken up into 4 difficulties, "Normal", "Hard", "Painful", and "Platinum Club". In order to gain access to the platinum club you have to earn plat medals on all 3 prior difficulties and unlocking the platinum club is required on most of the minigames you will play needed for the 100% thankfully never have to play the platinum club level. While in general they weren't the most difficult thing to earn plat on they were quite repetitive and felt somewhat random as certain actions may make the specific run A LOT easier (ie random object hitting something thats required etc). Overall a pretty enjoyable start to the year! Will likely start Mirror's Edge or Persona 4: Arena next if I can find a boosting partner as I'm not super keen on buying a second console for self boosting although it's looking more and more tempting with the majority of games I want to play having some form of online trophies. Popular Post Walt the Dog
Farming Simulator 19 (https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/8435-farming-simulator-19/Wdog-999) Rounding off my proper UR plats for the year with a game I was eyeing for a while until I finally bit the bullet a couple weeks ago and grabbed a physical copy (I missed the initial PS+ run for whatever reason). About as easy as one would expect for a game about farming. There was a bit of a learning curve figuring out what did what since my previous experience in the genre (Real Farm) did a fair bit more handholding on the plat experience compared to this, but once that was figured out, it was more or less just a grind, particularly with mod support to make the experience smoother between stuff like borderline infinite money, stations to refill whatever I want without having to source it myself, and even a map where one of the fields had well over the 100 hectares of space needed to get the various 100 hectare trophies in one go. You can even have the AI do most of the actual farming for you, which was a lifesaver for the aforementioned giant field so I could just fuck off while it was going and just have it off to the side in case I needed to reposition one of the workers. Also helped for the 100 jobs, though it was a bit more finicky since the AI degrades in quality fairly quickly once introduced to stuff like non-rectangular fields and stuff being anywhere near the edges of a field. As for what's next, I've been slowly making my way through Monster Menu: The Scavenger's Cookbook since I got it for Christmas, though TBA on whether I'll end up getting the plat or if it'll stay incomplete for the foreseeable future. Hoping I can get it done so I don't add yet another PS5 game to my profile that's just sitting incomplete forever (I'll get to Planet Coaster and Banana Mania Eventually™️), but I've also barely scratched the surface of it and I'm not entirely sure the gameplay loop is gonna keep me engaged for long enough for me to actually get through the story, let alone the grind at the end for all the various records. I've also been slowly chipping away at Surge Deluxe on the side for the godawful 100k block trophy that's left that game sitting incomplete for damn near a decade. Hoping I can get it done before June 14th hits and the time to complete is fated to actually be a decade or more.
Popular Post Dzware
Got a few games done this week. First up, my first bounty of the year and my 225th platinum: Dead or Alive 5. This has been a bit of a white whale on my profile ever since I started taking trophy hunting a bit more seriously, and it definitely proved to be the pain in the ass that I expected it to be. I've been slowly working on the majority of the trophy list over the years, where I did most of the grinds (1000 online matches, unlock all costumes, attain 300 titles to unlock Alpha, all command trainings), but never really got the confidence to properly start the arcade, time attack and survival modes until a few months ago. I tried both Alpha and Lisa strats in the beginning, trying to get a feel for which would suit me better, but ended up sticking with Alpha in the end, as I felt she had some more options, and quicker attacks, plus being easier to use overall. Main disadvantages of Alpha would be that she always floats after a combo, leaving her wide open for a second or 2, and has no hold attack (essentially a parry) so it could be harder to get out under the pressure. Arcade and time attack modes weren't too bad after getting a feel for Alpha by practicing in survival, and I just used LeiFang as tag partner because of her super easy power blow strat. Survival though.. as someone who doesn't know much about how to play fighting games.. I was really out of my depth here 😅. Took me multiple hours to just get the 50 wins in a row done on hard difficulty, and then there were still 4 higher difficulties left, each requiring 100 wins in a row against super cheap, dogshit AI. This probably took me over 60 hours of practice over the past 5 weeks, with the majority of that being spent on Master (second highest difficulty). Definitely my hardest plat so far, and thanks again to @Copanele for letting me vent in DMs and giving me some very helpful tips Pretty much immediately afterwards I got back to MotoGP 09/10 to finish that up, as I was holding it off cause of my milestone. The majority of the game was pretty easy, as you can just play everything on the lowest difficulty, so it's mostly just a case of winning races and finishing multiple seasons. This was pretty hard for me in the beginning, but that was only after finding out I had a faulty disc causing the game to constantly drop inputs, so I would constantly be losing speed if I'd just hold R2. Luckily it was ezpz after getting a second copy of the game. The main reason it's a sub 1% plat is the Champagne trophy, requiring an online win against 19 other players. This in theory sounds like a simple boost aside from finding enough people for it, but the servers are so terrible that it was completely unobtainable at release (with people's internet not being as good back then), and even now it took us 4 whole sessions to get 14 people the trophy, as the game kept kicking people out mid race. Overall not too bad of a plat, but pretty boring. Also just finished Limbo for the second time. I really liked the game the first time I played it, so decided to go for the Vita stack now. Main difficulty would come from the max 5 deaths playthrough, but that one's mostly about just memorizing all traps in the game (1 hour long game, with the majority being spent on puzzles and walking, so not as daunting as it sounds) so you can't get surprised. Actually pulling off all the jumps isn't too hard. I did need a few attempts, but actually got it done completely deathless in the end. Definitely recommend this one. Tier 1 Dead or Alive 5 (PS3, 0.52%) - 100% MotoGP 09/10 (PS3, 0.81%) - 100% Limbo (Vita, 3.44%) - 100% Monster Hunter World (PS4, 4.67%) - 51% Mirror's Edge (PS3, 0.66%) - 63%

Popular Post DeepEyes7
First UR plat of the year... And maybe will be like that for a while Tier 1 UPDATE! King of Fighters XIV - COMPLETE! Easy plat, maybe it is UR because of the 3vs3 online fights other than that there is nothing difficult there, maybe a little grind for the gallery but nothing on MOM Sign levels, if someone like me has the EU and NA versions of KoF14 the saves are not compatible, had to change version because of DLC things and had to lose all my progress on the gallery that I had from the online boosting...

Popular Post InfinateEternity
Hi, all! As I mentioned in my last post, my goal was to finish SoulCalibur 5 this week, and I did manage to get it done on Thursday, as my 125th plat and first of 2024! Tier 1 - Game 1: SoulCalibur 5 Honestly, getting this plat took me almost 12 years. But, at least it's finally done! Since it took so long, I really can't comment on the game itself as much as I could if most of it had been done recently. Plat-wise, based on what I had left to finish when I did the online a year ago, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The online trophies and servers most definitely would have been hard to deal with if it weren't for the kind people I boosted with. You know who you are, and I appreciate it more than you know! Otherwise, the offline quick battles, and move trophies weren't that difficult, imo, either - just very, very grindy. I only had to get my profile to level 99 and finish off the Wind of Battle trophy this week to finally get the plat, and honestly, the level 99 trophy grind wasn't too bad as I only had 9 levels to go at the start of the week. But, the Wind of Battle trophy was another beast entirely. I was only about halfway (roughly) to the 87,600m movement requirement by the time that was the only trophy I had left to get. Thank god for rubber bands. Otherwise, I think I would've lost my sanity at some point during this. I was able to set a timer on my phone and do other things, while hitting the X button on my controller when needed during matches, instead of continuously holding the DS3's joystick to the left so that my character would move backwards at all times, which made the grind bearable considering matches are 3 minutes long at time. Painful still, admittedly, because of the time needed (it still took hours). But, bearable. I honestly don't know what UR plat will be next. But, if I can manage at least 1 UR a month this year, I'll be happy. Tier 1: 1) SoulCalibur 5 (PS3) | - Rarity: 2.68% | Earned: 2024-01-04 Edited January 7 by InfinateEternity Edited for clarity. Popular Post BrandedBerserk
Griftlands Difficulty: 5/10 Time: 40 Hours Score: 8.5/10 First Bounty claimed. Griftlands is a highly addictive roguelike deck builder that I thoroughly enjoyed. Although it's my first experience with the genre, it didn't take very long before everything clicked after the initial learning curve and I even managed to get fastest achiever. Majority of the trophies require some planning and a bit of luck but with an optimal deck, a lot of the games more challenging difficulties aren't much of a problem in my opinion. Great game overall and I will definitely be checking out this genre from now on. Bloody Ties DLC Difficulty: 4/10 Time: 12 Hours Score. 6/10 Pretty decent DLC but not enough to change how disappointed I was of the base game at launch. There's not much of interest added here other than a story that I found dull and an arena mode where you'll spend most of your time grinding challenges. There's some fun to be had going for the gold medals in the arena which is the most demanding part of the dlc but other than that, it's rather forgettable.
Popular Post MoreFuego
TIER 1 UPDATE: 1) Limbo (VITA) - 3.44% Rarity Not want I expected to be my first UR this year, but this is a game that I played on Xbox 360 when I was pretty much an infant lol. Game is atmospheric and eerie, which made the game really enjoyable to me. The puzzles were good for the most part. The timing of the jumps and grabbing onto stuff, while simple, was pretty fun too. Also didn’t know the game was that short, don’t remember much of it from back then. Overall, a great game! Now just finding out these are the same people that made Inside, I might give that a go soon!

Popular Post Copanele
My first entry here for the glorious upcoming year of 2024....and it's a stinker of a game: Jump Force Tier 1 Jump Force Quake Red Faction Wet Ninja Gaiden Sigma Boy oh boy what a slog of a game. It still baffles me how with all that money and potential they still managed to mess up a fighting game with Shonen Jump characters. Ah well...the game is now delisted and I don't think I'll be too sad about it.
Popular Post dieselmanchild
Tier 1 Slender: The Arrival - (2.19% 💯) Battlefield 3 - (2.74%/0.89%) Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax OlliOlli World Ziggurat ===== #373 - Battlefield 3 I gotta tell ya, it feels really great to clear this one from the backlog! 🥳 Before I started trophy hunting back in early 2018, there was a period of several months prior to that where I just aimlessly dicked around in Skyrim, Battlefield 3 online, and a couple other games after I had acquired an old PS3 from a guy off Craigslist. I got bit by the trophy bug soon after that and began gaming like a madman, and one of the first things I did was go back and finish off the games that I’d already played and earned a handful of trophies in naturally, such as Skyrim. For some reason BF3 was excluded from this “cleanup” phase. I never went back to it at all, and as a result it’s been the oldest and most incomplete game on my trophy list, sitting around 8% completion for the past 6 years and collecting dust in the dark depths of my trophy list. I’ve been vowing to clean it up since at least 2022 when I first joined the UR Cleanup, but I just kept doing what I do best and sweeping it under the rug, telling myself I’d get to it later. With all the server closures in the past year I finally started to feel some urgency with this game and suspected it could be next on the chopping block, giving me the kick in the ass I needed. Battlefield 3 is a fantastic game that still holds up very well today. The main reason I’d been putting it off for so long is that it has an enormous amount of multiplayer required. There’s 5 Premium DLC packs with their own trophy lists along with some grindy base game trophies (such as achieving all ribbons, reaching rank 45 etc.), and if that wasn’t enough there’s also a co-op campaign that requires a patient and dedicated partner if you have any hope of completing it. I had to join a couple boosting groups for this, and the sessions required a lot of coordination and teamwork to execute efficiently. Thank goodness BF3 allows you to rent your own servers though, this was an absolute godsend and probably would have been impossible without it. The hardest trophy in the game is without a doubt the “Bullseye” trophy from the co-op campaign. You have to clear a sniper rescue mission without alerting any enemies or getting any hostages killed, and this requires excellent teamwork and precision. My partner and I had to practice our roles, communicate thoroughly, and do a countdown before every kill to make sure our shots were synchronized. We failed many times and it took quite a few hours to get that perfect run, but ngl I felt like a genuine armchair Navy SEAL when we finally pulled it off! Slender: The Arrival (100%) I don’t have a whole lot to say about this one. It’s basically just a short horror walking simulator revolving around the Slender Man character. I actually really enjoyed it quite a bit the first time through as it has a great atmosphere and can be genuinely creepy at times. Unfortunately it wears out it’s welcome pretty quickly with subsequent runs, especially with the Hardcore mode which can be a Royal pain in the ass and quickly replaces any sense of fear and urgency with annoyance and fatigue. This version has no platinum, but there is another version that does (albeit no URs)

Popular Post zaxonzaxon
My Tier 1 is looking like this: 1. Lacuna 2. Lumines Remastered 3. The Playroom 4. Steep 5. The Last Guardian Got the first two knocked out already. Both Lacuna and Lumines are games I went into completely blind, and was pleasantly surprised by both of them. Lacuna is an indie detective story game that doesn't look like much at first glance, but is actually quite lovingly crafted and punches well above its weight, quality-wise. It's super easy, but the fact that it has ~80 owners and has to be played 8 times for the plat means almost no one has finished it. Lumines is a classic Vita puzzle game, from the same guy that later made Tetris Effect. Really amazing game, and also genuinely very hard if you're not that experienced with this type of game.

Popular Post GraniteSnake
First game completed for the challenge - Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (3.56%). Me and my brother have been on a bit of a co-op spree as of late and decided to knock this one out. It's fun, but would've been a lot more enjoyable with four players instead of two. I was pretty much the navigator for the game, while my brother alternated between covering us with the shield and taking down the enemies with the stationary turrets. The first campaign was the worst seeing as we were going for the no-upgrades trophy, but the rest of the campaign was a lot more enjoyable as we got to experiment with different variations of upgrades for the ship. I feel like we'll keep the momentum going and start Magicka 2 soon so I imagine that'll be my next completion down the road!
