366 Days Platinum Club

Welcome to the 366 Days Platinum Club.

First and foremost this is a long-term event which should be completed over the course of several years.

What's the purpose of this event?

The goal of this event is to earn one platinum per day for each of the 365 days of the year plus the leap day therefore 366 platinums in total while having fun. As stated above this doesn’t have to be done in a single year as that would be humanly impossible that is why every year since you earned your first platinum until today and the years to come will count for this event.

Check your platinums and fill the days of the year in which you already earned a platinum and try to earn one in the days where you haven't yet either this year or in the following years. Take into account that you if you go to your PSN profile here at psnprofiles sometimes the dates when you earned a platinum that are displayed there are not the same as the ones when you click on a completed game: for example the date displayed on the PSN profile page here says you earned the platinum in January 19th but when you click on the game it says you got it in January 20th at 12:02 am so you must always click on each platinumed game and put the date that is displayed there (January 20th).

Does my PSN account has to be from the same country I was born?

Your PSN account isn't required to be from the country you were born or from the country you reside. Nonetheless the time zone must be from the city you reside for obvious reasons.

Who can participate?

Anyone that has at least 30 platinums, 10 posts and 30 days in the forums can participate. You can always join later if you don't meet these criteria yet.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. No hacked/flagged or hidden games are allowed be used as entries. You can have as many hidden games as you want in your profile but you won't be able to use them for this event, you will have to use other games in your profile to fill each day.

2. No shovelware (e.g. the Breakthrough games, the Stroke the ... games, the The Jumping ... games, the Quiz games, etc) are allowed to be used as entries. You can have as many showelware games as you want in your profile but you can't use them for this event, you will have to use other games for the event.

3. Games with easy plats (e.g. the Ratalaika games, the My Name Is Mayo games, etc) are allowed. For the sake of this event we will consider that a game has an easy plat when a game that has a 70% or higher rarity meets any of the following conditions: its platinum doesn't require you to complete the whole story or all levels of the game (e.g. a trophy list with trophies descriptions like “complete 1, 5, 10, 15, etc, levels” without a trophy for completing all levels of the game or the whole story when the latter applies), or its platinum can be earned in a matter of minutes to less than 2 hours (check the 100% club of these titles to see if the platinum can be completed in less than 2 hours: if several people did it then it's an easy plat). Games that have 70% or higher rarity that take several hours or at least 2 hours to complete will not be considered easy plats. Likewise if any stack of a game has a rarity lower than 70% then it will not be considered and easy plat.

4. Auto-popped platinums are allowed but only up to 5 of them in total. This also includes games that when were updated had unexpected bugs that allowed auto-popping most or all trophies by joining another’s player session, e.g. Stranded Deep as long as the platinum was earned this way. If you earned the Stranded Deep platinum before this exploit or on a version that fixed this exploit then you won't have to worry about this requirement.

5. Platinums that took advantage of features like save transfer, transfarring, in-game cheats that were later patched, bugs that were later patched, partial auto-pop, or any other similar feature to auto-pop most but NOT ALL of the trophies from a game within seconds or minutes are allowed but only up to 5 of them. For example, games like Metal Gear Solid 2 or 3 (for PS3 and Vita) that used transfarring to have impossible platinum times under regular circumstances fit in this category. If you earned your MGS2/MGS3 platinums without using transfarring you won't have to worry about this. Another example would be Syphon Filter 3 where at launch you could use in-game cheats (that were later patched) to earn the platinum in under 10 minutes. If you earned the Syphon Filter 3 platinum after the game was patched, forget about this requirement. In case you used any of these features or exploits but only for some trophies and you didn't earned the platinum in a matter of minutes but on a realistic completion time then you won't have to worry about this requirement: e.g. you used transfarring for Metal Gear Solid 3 but instead of having a platinum time of 10 minutes you have a platinum time of over 12 hours.

6. Different stacks from the same game are allowed (including easy plats). You must put the region (e.g. NA, EU, etc) of the stack next to the game's title when that applies. If there is a game with a physical (PH) and a digital (DG) stack you must also specify that.

7. You can only have up to 50 entries between easy plats and auto-pops (requirements 3 & 4 only). This will discourage spamming easy plats for every entry of the calendar/year since that's not the spirit of this event.

8. You must only use the time zone of the city/country you reside when you pick your entries for each day. You must state your time zone (the one you use for the event) in every post where you add entries (first post and when you update your entries). You must also add the year in which you earned the platinum next to each game.

9. If you happen to move to another city/country permanently or for a long period of time, your platinums earned before you moved will keep the timestamps of your previous city however the platinums earned after you moved must use the time zone of your new city. This also applies if you travel among cities regularly during a year: use the time zone of the city where you earned the platinum. If this is your case, do not take advantage of this, participate with honesty (let us know if this is your case).

10. If you have platinumed more than one game in a single date in the same or different years you must pick only one. You can swap a game for another you complete at a later or previous year if you want to.

11. DLC trophies are not required, only the platinum. Bear in mind that regarding games with DLC trophies if you earned the platinum before getting all trophies from DLC the completion time on your PSN profile will show the date when you earned your last DLC trophy: you must click on the game to see the timestamp of the platinum.

CHALLENGES

The main focus of this event is to earn a platinum in each of the 365 days of a year (during several years) plus the leap day but to make things a little more interesting there will be 12 challenges which are the following:

Everybody Has a Favorite Series: Earn one platinum per month from your favorite game series. The original idea of this challenge was to earn 12 different platinums (stacks included) from a single game series to see how much of a loyal fan you were. However considering some people may not be able to fullfil this challenge now it will be from your top 3 game series (3 series combined will have more than 12 platinums in almost all cases), but you can still earn 12 different platinums from a single game series if you want. If you use more than one game series, please add next to the challenge title the series you will use: e.g. (1. Devil May Cry, 2. Killzone, 3. Crash Bandicoot). Please specify the stack next to the title in case a game has stacks.

Leap Day Achiever: Earn a platinum in a leap day.

PlayStation Forever: Earn one platinum per month from a PlayStation exclusive (PS exclusives released on Steam count), or a game that was originally released only on PlayStation consoles (e.g. Metal Gear Solid 1), or a game only available on PlayStation devices (e.g. Little Deviants, The Hungry Horde, Dead Nation, etc). Up to 3 modern timed-exclusives games are allowed as long as they remained PlayStation exclusives for at least 2 years. You won't have to worry about modern titles that were originally released on PlayStation and were re-released several years later (4 or more years) to other consoles or PC.

Indie Supporter: Earn one platinum per month from any indie game.

Superheroes Don't Take Vacations: Earn one platinum per month from a comic book superhero game. Superhero Lego games and the DC Super League Pets game count as well. Up to 3 games where you play as a superhero/hero that doesn't have a comic book origin (e.g. inFamous, Control, etc), or any manga superhero/hero (Jump Forcer, Xenoverse, etc), or where you play as a comic book supervillian/villian (Suicide Squad) are allowed.

Elite Athlete: Earn one platinum per month from sports games or games that have any kind of sports competition in them. At least 6 of these games must be from different sports (e.g. football, US football, tennis, basketball, golf, racing, Olympic Games, athletism, etc). Games like Mad Max, Red Dead Redemption, etc, are allowed. You must specify the sport next to the game's title.

Jack of All Trades: Earn a platinum from 12 different genres in a different month each. For example, a platinum from a stealth game in January, a platinum from a shooter game in February, etc. You can check the thread from Rebourne07 for a list of genres. While not considered in Rebourne07 list, rhythm and roguelike are also accepted as genres.

A Classic Never Dies: Earn one platinum per month from games originally released in the 90's or before. This category is supposed to be filled with games released on Atari, SNES, PC, MSX2, PS1, etc. Regarding the PS1 re-releases, only games that were released up to 1999 count. Regarding games re-released as part of the PS1 Classics brand (PS4 and PS5), only up to 4 of them are allowed. However games that were not re-released as part of the PS Plus Premium Classics catalog will not be considered as PS1 Classics (e.g. MGS1, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy Pixel Collection games, etc.) hence you can fill all 12 entries with them if you desire. Games that were combined with another (e.g. Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night) or that had new content added (e.g. Duke Nukem 3D: 20 Anniversary) are allowed. Full remakes of classics games are not allowed (e.g. Resident Evil 1 - 3 remakes, etc), conversely games like Spelunker HD or the original Tomb Raider trilogy where you can still play with the original graphics and the controls were virtually left unchanged are allowed. Complete this challenge with games like Ghosts 'n Goblins, Arcade Game Series: Pac-Man, Doom, Metal Gear 1 & 2, the Castlevania games, etc.

People Person: Earn one platinum per month from games with cooperative or multiplayer trophies. It doesn't matter if the game only has one or several co-op/multiplayer trophies as long as you have to interact with at least one other person or join someone else's session. Games where you can earn trophies in couch co-op or using several devices are allowed. Games that only have DLC multiplayer or co-op trophies but their base-game trophies are all singleplayer are excluded for this challenge (e.g. Dante's Inferno).

Ultra Rare Hunter: Earn one Ultra Rare platinum (psnprofiles rarity) per month. Only games that are Ultra Rare by the time this event starts will be considered as such: games that used to be UR before but became Very Rare are not allowed (e.g. Axiom Verge) for this challenge. What happens if when this event starts my platinum is UR but in some months its rarity drops to Very Rare? Well, you must put the rarity and the date when you earned the platinum next to the game’s name to know the platinum was UR when you earned it, it will remain as UR for the whole event. An exception to this rule will be Stranded Deep, people who earned the platinum before the auto-popping exploit can use this game's platinum for this challenge as it was a true UR platinum before that happened. For a platinum to count for this challenge, the game must either be 6 months old on psnprofiles (to prevent early UR rarity that eventually drops to Rare - Uncommon) or the game must have a certified challenging platinum when it releases (e.g. Super Meat Boy). If one of your Very Rare platinums becomes Ultra Rare you can use it for this challenge as long as it looks that it will stay as UR (avoid games that are 4.98% or 4.99% since they will most likely drop back to Very Rare sooner than later). Put the rarity next to each game.

Women Power: Earn one platinum per month from games that have a female protagonist or from games that have several playable characters as long as among those characters are woman (e.g. Dead Island). Games that have side stories where you play as a woman (e.g. Silent Hill 2) are allowed too. Games like Resident Evil 4 where you only play as Ashley for a few section(s) are not allowed for this challenge; but what about Ada Wong? If I recall correctly those are DLC trophies, right? Then sadly you will not be able to use Resident Evil 4 remake for this challenge. Put the name of the female playable character next to each title.

Holiday Spirit: Earn one platinum per month in a day where a holiday or festivity takes place. Some holiday's dates vary in each country, e.g. April's Fool is equivalent to Holy Innocent's Day (Spanish speaking countries counterpart) where the latter is celebrated on December 28th, or Labor Day takes place in May 1st (in Spanish speaking countries) instead of the first Monday of September. Both cases are allowed but you can only choose one since they celebrate the same thing. Mother's and Father's day vary from year to year as well so you will have to make sure you didn't get the wrong date. You can use any holiday/festivity celebrated in your country as long as you are not making holidays up just specify the country when that holiday is only celebrated in a single country (e.g. any Independence Day, holidays that celebrated battles, etc). In all cases you must put the name of the holiday or festivity next to the name of the game and the day and year when you earned the platinum.

Regarding the challenges:

The requirements for each of the 12 challenges above only apply to those challenges not for the whole event. For instance, you can have as many PS1 Classics (PS+ Premium) platinums as you want to fill as many of the entries for each day of the year as you want in contrast to the 4 PS1 Classics platinum limit for the “A Classic Never Dies” challenge. It is worth mentioning that you can use the same platinum for more than one challenge, e.g. you can use Marvel Ultimate Alliance platinum for both, the “Ultra Rare Hunter” and the “Superheroes Don't Take Vacations” challenges.

Auto-pops (requirements 4) and partial auto-pops or similar (requirement 5) are not allowed for challenges, unless the platinum has a realistic completion time in case of the latter (e.g. MGS2 platinum in 24 hours or more instead of some minutes to a few hours).

Completing the challenges is not mandatory to participate in this event but its completion is required if you want to be part of the best tier of the Hall of Fame of this event.

You must use the games you picked for each day of the year for challenges; you cannot use other games that you didn't pick because you earned more than one platinum in the same day either in the same or different years. For instance, in my case I earned Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain platinum in the same day (but on a different year) as my God of War (original) but I chose to use the Phantom Pain platinum. That means I can't use the God of War platinum for “PlayStation Forever” challenge since I didn't pick it for the main event and I will have to platinum a PlayStation exclusive another time since I don't have one for that month.

Not sure I have what it takes for this, but it sounds interesting. I'd like to join. For starters, I will most likely only do the main challenge, the leap day one, and the favorite series challenge. I will update my entry with more challenges when I have the time. As for what I intend to do, outside of the leap day one, I'm not going out of my way to get specific dates too much. I have one chance each year for those, so not too worried. I'll get those someday and can still focus on those when I have most days out of the way.

Not sure yet how many of my games count. At most, I have 198 days done. I'd estimate that at least 180 games count, so I'm around 50%, give or take. Although not sure if any games overlap.
