I will drop only one nugget of (personal) opinion regarding this Stellar Blade madness - thank god they censored some stuff. I haven't had this much fun reading all the batshit insane "logic" some of you guys post since the glory days of TLoU Part 2 😂

These kind of posts/drama/logic remind me of the Vita days when a game would launch and the NA version would be censored to shit and then people would complain about it cause they can't see the loli/underage looking girls titties/panties. Criminal Girls, Monster Monpiece, and GalGun are ones I remember the most.

Picking and choosing your battles.

 

The problem with the internet is that there's no such thing anymore.  Everything is a battle.  That little fabric of cloth added from the demo is the exact same as Sony removing time from your PS+ subscription.  Some people can't make the distinction anymore.

 

EDIT: The person that can't make the distinction using the confused reaction feels right, but I'm not sure why they'd do that to themselves.

I remember reading about the legitimate censorship of Crystar's opening movie in the NA version a year ago maybe. When I saw the uncut version my first thought was that it was a strange place to put a butt anyways. I feel the same way, looking at the screenshot pic. It's just a strange costume. I would have tried version 1.0 if only for the blood spatter but I'm too lazy to do all this stuff. I'm still looking forward to playing when I get the chance.

In this specific case tho, its not just cut content from a demo, it's in the final product that shipped and got patched out. The original post is simply showing a way to access the NG+ content that is already on the disc.

The reasons for the reaction- One, you've purposely warped the comparison you're quoting (even when it was clarified before your post that it was not about the clothing). Now becoming your comparison. I had... divorced... the clothing/fanservice aspect to make a comparison argument using any-content instead, something most people hysterically missed.

Two, the original comparison was clearly made between.. two Sony products.. and the unfortunate outcome that could happen after purchasing any of them: not getting 100% content advertised (i.e., x amount of days of membership benefits) vs not getting 100% of content advertised in a game. So it wasn't about "feeling right"; it was about you misrepresenting the situation. An updated analogy can also be made, but let's be realistic it doesn't matter.

I'm of the mind that the "reasons" being given are thinly veiled attempts to validate much more juvenile opinions.

 

Are the reasons true?  Maybe, if spun the right way... social media is nothing if not an echochamber of shitty opinions spun with just enough fervor, barely-accurate questionably relevant facts, and things that sound right to convince stupid people they aren't shitty.

 

But of all the hills to die on to make this case, Stellar Blade is such an insignificant example.  And it's being so overblown.  And the comparisons being made are so inept.  It really just illustrates all of that nicely.  People writing essays amounting to worthless industry generalizations to cover up whatever it is they're really upset about, because whatever that is, isn't worth saying.

Don't get me wrong, uncensored in media is the way to go, but no reason to constantly complain about something you have no control over. I thought people play games for the game play, story and other things, like said above, go watch porn. This is just too funny reading the arguments on here and on other places about this. On the petition webpage, watch some of the videos of guys explaining why they want more skin in the game. You cannot convince me that this outfit was supposed to look terrible. That anybody said, "You know what this outfit needs? A lazy ugly bra underneath. Or Blue Monsoon which they lazily painted textures onto her body that don't match up to the actual clothing texture. That was totally the design they wanted, that unfinished look. That's the style these days. The upper yellow paint doesn't even make sense why it's there and it looks bad. With how good so many of the fully covered outfits look, and some of the other outfits look even with alleged censorship like the reward for the cans [the extra black fabric was added] it still looks good. Or the leggings on the one outfit look nice and I actually like that one better than without them.

But this and Blue Monsoon do not. Like they ran out of time to actually cover her up more. All made even dumber by the fact the nude suit exists at all, or the opening shot of Eve exiting her pod. What's the purpose? But there never is one with censorship. There's always content in the same media that was censored that could have been censored under the same standard as the stuff that was. See Lilo & Stitch censoring hiding in a dryer being replaced with hiding behind a pizza box with the mentality of "think of the children". A movie where a 6 year old befriends a rabid animal, talks to strangers, is left home alone, drives a flying car at the end, etc. So much for the safety of children. 

Do you really expect a developer when their game is freshly released, in contract with a publisher to go "yeah the publisher pushed for this". His interview with Yoko Taro mentioned some moments with Sony. If you think Sony didn't get involved at all in any of this then I have a bridge to sell you. Also there's a refund waiting for you, but first is there a Best Buy near you? Do they sell gift cards? 

 

edit; even the other color variant has a better bra added to it. It has textures and looks nice independently of the context. This one however just looks like ass.

I'm not going to avoid a game over censorship, that doesn't make it NOT censorship. I still bought Burst Renewal for example. This isn't the first time I've bought a censored game AND complained about it being censored. And there I didn't even care about the things removed, but I do like the outfit that they made ugly in this one. I will instead keep voicing being against censorship.

Meanwhile you guys who "don't care" invest all this time into telling us all how it doesn't matter, you don't care, blah blah blah. I think I'll keep doing me. I'd say you tried, but I don't think you did.
