Square Enix really delivered with this one, kind of ironic trough, this game was announced and then released without much hype, AKA Final Fantasy XV and in the end stomps on the former in all aspects even trough the former is one of my favorite franchises ever. Bravo, GOTY contender. Edited September 26, 2018 by Mah2c
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
PS4 Consummate Storm Master Whew! This was easier than I remember it (old account, bladeblah). At least, it would have been if the DLC trophies had not been mandatory this time. :/ But still, here it is, so no big deal!! SO last post I made a stint about how Naruto's voice was hell on my ears. so this time I took it upon my self to lower the voice volume to mute, and HOLY HELL what a world of difference it makes. By muting the voices, I wasn't able to pick out the ridiculously bad dialogue and ear-grating performances, and I was able to focus on everything else; the animation, the music, the visuals. It was truly like the manga came to life, and it went a LONG way in making the story memorable and engaging. In terms of difficulty, 3 would be right in the middle of 1 and 2. You don't do have to do 100% everything in the game the way 2 asks you, but you do have to put in some work for some of the trophies (DLC), unlike 1, where all you basically had to do was beat the game and get 50% on all tasks. Anyways, that's the Ultimate Storm Trilogy completed! Seeings to how I got the last two back to back, I'm gonna take a break before diving into 4, and I'm still undecided if I'l do the PS3 exclusive spin-offs.

Popular Post Lum
#34: Learn to Survive Survived the nightmare, and everything in between. As a fan of the first one and it's DLC I am very pleased with how the second one turned out. With so many needed explanations and unanswered questions that were raised in part 1, TEW2 does a great job on filling much of this void, expanding on Sebastian's past events and its connection to Mobius. What's also pleasing is that there is more emphasis on Sebastian's growth - from a man who had hit rock bottom that resulted from experiencing numerous traumatizing and treacherous events to a man overcoming the inner demons that long haunted him, that you can't help but cheer him on with such enthusiasm. After feeling more of a completeness playing TEW2, there are strong hints in the game that suggest a 3rd one is on it's way (I would really love to see a spin-off series of Juli Kidman), especially since it also includes events that leaves things unanswered or need more explaining. Gameplay wise, the stealth mechanic hasn't changed too much except for the added abilities that makes your stealth game stronger. Character abilities are still developed by the beloved green gel, but there is a slight variation in weapon development that depend on the gathering of weapon parts now instead of just only green gel. There are also new features in these developments such as the new red gel and high-grade weapon parts if you want to take your abilities and weapons to the next level. There are also other additions to the ability development such as bullet-time aiming and a damage multiplier for consistent on-target shots, as well as holding on to some of the old ability developments such as the oh-so-important sprinting. It was a very challenging and very satisfying experience all-around and I recommend it to those who loved the first one and it's DLC, and want more of an explanation/continuation of the events of it's predecessor.
Popular Post Bullstomp
Crysis 2 Rarity 1.81% Difficulty: 8 Fun Factor: 7 I completed the SP on this years ago but due to server issues I never got a chance to do the MP. Then EA fixed the servers and announced the closure in October so I decided to go for it. The glitched trophies really diminish what is otherwise a great game. I got lucky with Tooled Up, Dedication and Modern Art trophies but they were something I stressed out hardcore on. That grind to 50 was a bear too. If you haven't played this game yet don't bother; the platinum would be impossible because the "Dedication" trophy requires you to play online 6 months after your first time and the servers close in two weeks Good luck to all still going for this one!
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
Master of seasons This one was alright. It's visually very beautiful, really looking like a marker/watercolor painting come to life, and should be witnessed at least once if you're into that sort of thing. It controls fine, the platforming is really simplistic, and there is no lose screen. Its definitely one of those experience games rather than a challenge game. That being said, because its trying to be artsy and thoughtful, things tend to be on the incredibly vague side, and unfortunately one that goes too far in that direction. It's hard for me to really appreciate a purely emotion driven experience when I'm not allowed to really get attached and know something or someone. Your avatar is born, does some stuff, then dies and is reborn. The gameplay, while I mentioned is very easy, also manages to be tedious as well. The gimmick is that you are allowed to manipulate the seasons, which i turn creates/destroys platforms. These platforms are often jammed together in small environments, so you never get a solid smooth-flowing platforming experience; you run, jump, stop dead in your tracks to switch seasons, platform, stop again, start again, etc. But, again, its not hard by any means, and hey, all gold and silver trophies.
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #162: RiME (September 18th, 2018) Difficulty: 2/10 Excitement Rating: 7/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 5 - 6 Hours RiME was a Playstation Plus title this past February, but only just recently did I start playing the game. I guess I'm weird that way. For what it's worth, it's not too bad of a game, but it gets rather boring. You play as a young boy who has awoken on a beach somewhere. The story isn't exactly told in a traditional manner, as no spoken dialogue is in the game at all. However a little fox shows up and guides the kid through a series of puzzles and obstacles, with sentinels, a prehistoric bird and otherworldly creatures. I still don't quite understand the story, but the game's strong points is the atmosphere and detail to backgrounds. RiME does it's best to show good atmosphere, with soothing music to go along with it. I consider this game to be more of a walking simulator than a game full of adventure, as RiME lacks good characters. You explore locations, you pick up collectibles, you solve puzzles to proceed to the next area of the game. RiME is a short but sweet game that shows an emotional side of things in nature. If you played games like Abzu and Journey then you will enjoy RiME. However this is a game that isn't for everyone, as it got rather boring for me after a while. It doesn't overstay it's welcome, there is nothing remotely difficult in the game at all and it provides a three to five hour journey through four different areas. It has it's share of collectibles which I unfortunately had to go out of my way of to collect. If you want easy platinums, RiME is not a bad choice. Those who like action oriented games may want to skip this one.

Popular Post Z-Yux
Platinum #49: Yakuza 0. What a game... I knew what I was getting myself into when I saw the 7/10 difficulty tag along with ~140 hours in the guide. I enjoyed most of the platinum grind aside from some Climax Battles and the final part of the main story during my Legend playthrough. Some of the minigames as well are a bit of a pain to get the completion credit for 100%. All-in-all, despite a few frustrating moments, this game was a lot of fun, and I would like to check out some of the other games in the series in the future. Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #163: Spec Ops: The Line (September 25th, 2018) Difficulty: 5 - 6/10 Excitement Rating: 8/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 10 - 15 Hours Spec Ops: The Line is a 2012 military style shooter developed by Yager, and published by 2K Games. Bought this for cheap used on an online retail website. Glad I got around to this game, because it is quite enjoyable. You play as Walker (voiced by Nolan North of Nathan Drake fame), the leader of a Delta squadron who is sent to Dubai to search for survivors. What seems to be a typical Call of Duty esque experience turns out to be a lot more sinister, with countless soldiers being massacred, shot and left to rot by an infantry group called the 33rd. Walker later ponders whether Conrad, an old colonel leading the 33rd, made the best decision to stay. Spec Ops is a cover third person shooter. As Walker you have control over two fellow teammates (Adams and Lugo) to issue orders. Much like the Uncharted games, various sections of the game will be filled with enemies, which you can kill yourself and you can also order your teammates to kill them. This is great in that you're letting the computer do some of the work for you, and your teammates can pull you out of a tricky situation. Controls are basic, but aren't quite as fluid and responsive as in the Uncharted games. Trophy list is pretty straightforward. You have your standard collectibles (Intel) and your standard 'Kill X amount of enemies with this weapon' trophies. What makes this game go to a 5 or 6 in difficulty is FUBAR, short for Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition. FUBAR is Spec Op's version of Uncharted's Crushing difficulty. Hard difficulty must be finished first before tackling FUBAR. Maybe it's just coincidence that Nolan North is in both games. Half the time I expected Victor Sullivan (Sully) to show up and give me orders. I didn't find FUBAR to be as difficult as some people said, nor as hair pulling. It is more difficult than any of the Uncharted games Crushing difficulty, but it isn't anything that most gamers can't tackle after many tries. However there were certain sections of the game (Chapter 6, Chapter 10, Chapter 13) where I spent upwards of nearly a hour or so trying to bypass difficult sections. I don't think Spec Ops: The Line is a 7 out of 10 in difficulty because you have your teammates. They can clear a lot of heat headed your way. Lugo is best at sniping enemies from a distance, and Adams is good at throwing grenades and using his heavy machine gun to kill enemy soldiers. Your AI teammates can also be quite stupid, often getting themselves in harms way in the line of fire. They will go down which you have to heal them in order to get back into the fight. You can order your remaining active teammate to revive the other one, but if both go down you have to revive them yourself. On FUBAR difficulty I died a lot more trying to revive my teammates than I did dying by myself. I had to replay some sections quite a lot because of this. They can be extremely helpful in one instance, then the next instance they both go down rather quickly. Pretty annoying. The story is well worth experiencing, but I won't mention any spoilers. The game does have some humor here and there to break up the serious tone. I found a certain Radioman to be rather humorous. The 1960s music was a nice touch, one notable song being "Hush" by Deep Purple. Spec Ops: The Line is a fairly short but good adventure. Popular Post Jelloycat
Platinum #60 - Yomawari: Night Alone There were some things I really liked about this game. All the Japanese myths and such were cool to see. I also liked the cutesy art style they used, it contrasted pretty nice with it being a horror game. My main complaints were about the game play. I'm not sure why all the characters in horror games have to walk so slow. Especially since the character in this game has a lower energy bar when monsters ARE around - it seems like she'd be more motivated to run away. It'd also be nice if you had some kind of stamina bar, rather than just one-hit death. (Especially considering how you die if a monster just slightly touches you.) It was an interesting enough game though, I wouldn't mind checking out the second one, especially if I can get it on sale.

Popular Post Dilust
#111 - The Saboteur Very enjoyable open world game in which we fight Nazis in the occupied France. Graphics, gameplay and mechanics of the game are good considering it's an old title. Very interesting characters and mechanics like climbing and disguise. A bit overwhelming the ammount of objects to destroy or collect but if you manage to balance this side activities between story missions and exploration, they are not so stodgy.
