Popular Post Bartolomeus
Long time no see, dear thread. -- 63rd platinum Metal Gear Solid 3 What a gem! I've previously played MGS4 and TPP, but never tried any of the pre-PS3 MGS games. I never had much interest of MGS1 and 2, but 3 always seemed a bit alluring. Never did buy it, though. It seemed like a quite difficult game - or maybe complex is a better word - and it was old. It was hard to shake off the classic assumptions in that regard: outdated graphics, crappy controls etc. But I gave it a shot not, and what a blast. The story is alright, but the execution... man, what a weird game, and amazing! Ocelot meowing to call for backup, juggling revolvers in a fancy version of Russian roulette. The cutscenes and the dialogue were just weird and extremely entertaining. Some negatives too, though. Most of the bosses were interesting, but some of them I didn't enjoy very much, particularly The Fury. The flame damage was annoying as hell! I also felt as if the Kerotan hunting somewhat ruined the end of the game for me, and I regret going for them on my first playthrough. Everything was fine and dandy until I had to shoot them from the bike. I probably had to reload the save thirteen times with one of them, blood pressure increasing for every failed attempt, having to wait minutes between each try due to loading screens and the long drive before we got back to where the kerotan was located, only to fail in the two crucial seconds on offer to shoot it. Gah. Overall very happy I decided to play it, though. The platinum was easy following a guide for the collectables, and the story was interesting with the handsome supply of quirky characters. Even though the playthrough only took me roughly 16 hours, the last boss encounter still hit me slightly in the feels. 10/10 would plat again.
Popular Post Ala-Arska
Shu Platinum Trophy Collect all trophies This game wouldn't let me change the language to English, so this is what I was stuck with. I'm very, very surprised that Shu doesn't have more owners than 160 (this version). Because a solid effort it is. In short, it's a 2.5D platformer with the emphasis on speed, accuracy and a few gimmicks. In Shu you can jump and float, be carried with wind gusts and use abilities such as dashing, time slowing and walking on water for short bursts. Nothing is overly complicated and every new ability adds a bit more variety to levels. Levels, which are relatively short and not too challenging Gameplay reminds me of Rayman series at times, especially when doing the few speedrun segments the game offers. Not as impressive, but good. Visuals and the minimalistic storytelling have that melancholic Machinarium feel going for them. I love Machinarium, hence I dig the looks here too As for the downsides, there are namely two that I can think of... First of, the fact that I couldn't change the language to English was weird and horseshit. Nice reading all those menus in...what, Chinese? Goddammit Secondly, although adequate overall, the controls tend to quit working occasionally. I died dozens of times because of this. I blame anything else but me I think Shu is an endearing, and cost-friendly, title that deserves more attention. Minor flaws aside, it SHUd be experienced
toofhairy
With this, it makes 300 completed games, yay! ? Undertale Don't You Have Anything Better to Do?Obtain all other Undertale trophies. (Platinum #171, btw) ...and how fitting is it that it's called "Don't You Have Anything Better to Do?" ? ? ? I don't think I've gotten a Platinum so far away from the end of the game.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#320 - One Piece: Burning Blood Decent enough fighter that doesn't seem to be sure about what kind of fighter it wants to be. Looks great, has a good roster selection, but has a crap story mode and balancing issues. Also adds some stupid level and money grind to the whole mix. Popular Post yellowwindow7
Gnasty's Demise / Spyro the Dragon oh man, what a rush of a blood to my head, was insanely excited when i grabbed the game's box and open it in a hurry with a horny look on my face.... yeah that stupid day one patch size kinda turn me down a bit but i recover really fast once i started the first game, i mean " PS4: if you do not want to use application's network features, you can skip the update and start the application now. .... Me: Yeah Yeah Yeah, START YOU FOUL! " " Nostalgia Strike's Back! " just when the game started and despite that the graphics is completely changed i still remembered the good ol times and picture my 18 years old self holding the ps1 standard controller sitting the exact same position in front of the TV with a stupid smile on my face. i played the original more than 15 times in the ps1's life cycle before my disc get a massive scratch damaging the game completely, i believe the last time i ever played it was in 2001 ( didn't re-buy it on the ps3 ) and after all that time i still didn't forget the location of the gems at all though the Tree Tops are still tough! to 100% it. " Despite That 3 Months of Delay the Games are Still Rough on Edges " i never ran into a serious bug or anything, i just found some stuff i personally think need some ironing, when spyro enter any level he must do a loop before landing and sometimes the level will still took more time to load making spyro took a long loop and disappear in the skybox then get back and land, sometime sparks won't pick the near gems you didn't spot so you have to go pick them up yourself manually, wish if there's an option to remove the motion blur and slightly zoom the camera slightly away from spyro, the controls in the flying stages is kinda worse than the one in the original, at some areas the environment felt unfinished, even though it's still looks so good, the trophies sometime take long to pop up after been triggered and some of them have a misleading descriptions ( thankfully i never ran into a buggy ones )... i heard the third game have more funny stuff and bugs than the other two games. the platinum is fairly easy, especially if you're a veteran original spyro games player, even the new skill points wont takes you too long to figure them out without a guide, but new comers.... i believe this game is not friendly with, despite that i felt that the remake is not just censored compared to the original but they kinda lower the difficulty down a bit on it, i mean go back and play the original and try to beat the level "Misty Bog" without been scratched once then comeback doing the same in the remake, the egg thief's are very tough to capture in the original than in the remake..... all in all it's a really good remake, just waiting for spyro 2 to finish right now, the freaking patch is still stuck in 500.19MB for two days!
Popular Post GTA_Darren
#200 - Shenmue - PS4 My number 200 platinum, it must be special. I give it to the game I really want to play since I was teenager, and I know I will not be disappointed. Shenmue is not just a game, it is an art. You will only be able to enjoy it with patience. Looking into every little detail and experience everything in the game, you will find out how incredible this game is. Great story and fantastic soundtrack. Waiting for almost 18 years, I am glad I finally got to play the game and it is my #200 platinum. Popular Post FarSideOfSaturn
#31 Detroit: Become Human - Detroit Master - Collected all trophies I'm never going to look at a Roomba the same way again. So, Detroit. The story of a bunch of androids who've listened to a bit too much Rage Against the Machine and give humanity two giant fingers, or die pathetically without much of a fight if you prefer because this is a David Cage game, and a David Cage game means choices, yay! Obviously the above RATM comment is tongue in cheek, the game deals with a lot of themes, the two prominent themes for me were slavery and identity. To give some context, the androids that inhabit Detroit's world were originally designed to deal with all the boring shit we don't want to do anymore. So, housekeeping, police patrols, working in shops, that kinda thing. Much like Terminators Skynet, the androids become self aware by becoming overwhelmed by conflicting commands and being placed in stressful situations, such as being attacked. And so the android revolution begins, if you let it... Of course some humans are already pissed off at androids for stealing their blue collar jobs, people are on the streets, can't feed their families. From the very start there's conflict and tension between humans and androids. Again, it's up to you to decide the fate of both races via the stories of three characters. Connor, an android who specialises in hunting down "deviant" androids. Kara, an abused housecleaner android and Markus, formerly a carer, now has arguably the most important role in the game as the leader of the "deviants". That's all I'll say for the story so I don't spoil anything. As you're playing the game it's your standard QTE playthrough, you have a certain amount of time to make a choice or react to situations and there's some puzzle solving. Generally choices you make have at least some impact, mostly your choices affect how the people around you perceive you, later on the game you can affect the opinion of the entire American population which in turn, can affect the entire ending for each character. I wouldn't describe the game as overly emotional, nor did I think it challenges your morality as well as it could do but it's nice that choices carry some weight as there's so many other games where it doesn't matter. One complaint I have about the gameplay, and I had this problem with previous Quantic Dream games, is sometimes it's slow and outright boring. The good far outweighs the bad however with some fun chase scenes and fights to plow through. Visually the game looks great, the detail on faces particularly is almost lifelike and characters are brought to life even more with some great voice acting, Connor and Hank especially. The ambient background noise is also good, it's usually appropriate for the situation and sets the mood well. So you want to platinum the game? The bad news is you can't get everything in one playthrough, at least two + some clean up via chapter select will be needed. The good news is since you'll be taking different paths your second/third playthrough is still largely fresh and new once you're beyond the opening chapters. While it's slow in a minority of areas, the game isn't too long and if necessary you can let characters die on your bad playthrough to speed things up a bit. Despite at least two playthroughs required, it took me around 20 hours to get the platinum trophy. I'd recommended this if you prefer narrative over gameplay or like other QTE games such as previous Quantic Dream games or Telltale games. Overall... + Entertaining story with choices that make a difference + Easy to pick up and play, can choose a harder control setting if you want more of a challenge + Looks stylish and sophisticated + Great visuals and voice acting + Good soundtrack - Some gameplay sections can be fairly dull, particularly early in the game - NPC/Player character movement can look sluggish on occasion - The good ending doesn't feel finished and could've done with another chapter Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 (on hard control setting) Edited November 17, 2018 by FarSideOfSaturn
Popular Post Starrk_01
Plat #136: Mafia 3 (PS4) Pretty good open world game that was free on PS+, despite the fact I had to play through the game three times since I screwed up the "Just You and Me" trophy on my 2nd playthrough. Popular Post Desmuria
My weekend of trophy hunting has been great thus far! #126 - Jazzpunk: Director's Cut The End Now go outside Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 This game was pretty weird! Trophies include having a pillow fight that ends up with your opponent falling out of the window, gravy racing and kissing homeless men... All the trophies are missable, so I used the super helpful video guide from @Stay-Pationt. Thank you! If you see this: Please come back to YouTube... I miss you. I recommend it if you're looking for a quick, easy platinum and/or games with really odd humour. #127 - Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms Chizzy Chizzy Bang Bang All trophies for Edo Blossoms obtained. Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Another VN from my long wish list and I really enjoyed this one. Some of the trophy names are... rather amusing, for example: "Does the Carpet Match the Drapes?" and "Saka On That". I recently played Amnesia: Memories and I found this one to be a lot better in comparison. If you like otome games and visual novels, I highly recommend. I'll definitely be picking up Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds when it goes on sale. #128 - Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly Obtained all trophies. Enjoyment: 4/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Yet another VN experience, however I didn't enjoy this one as much. There isn't as many dialogue options to choose from, so you're just faced with walls of text. I didn't find the story engaging, so I found myself just mashing to get through it. To unlock the storylines, the requirements are SO damn specific: I found myself a little lost at points, even when following a guide. The mini-game was frustrating at first but, with practice, it's not too bad. I'll probably end up buying Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk if/when it goes on sale, as long as it's dirt cheap.
Popular Post SirDave1988
# 93 Burly Men At Sea (PS4) Ye've Done It “This day, you reach the end of a story,” she continues, “and the last of its paths. Well, usually I'm quite random with my plats and don't usually do PS Plus games shortly after they become (essentially) free, but this was a short exception. It was a fun little indie game this. Basically, it's half visual novel, half point-and-click that can be finished in the average time it takes to watch a movie, and is not in any way taxing that I can remember. So, if you want an easy 2 hour plat for free this month, then this game has you well and truly covered. Starting to think about if I should make my 100th plat special/fitting or not and what to choose if I do decide to do that ? Nothing is misseable the whole game is straight forward. The char creation is really cool in Sc 6, but if i compare sc 6 to sc 5 in my eyes sc 5 is the better game. I also met kratos or homer simpson in libra of souls mode lol. Ppl have funny ava ideas xD. If u like sc in general get sc 6 as well u guys wont regret it.
Popular Post Charizarzar
#83 Fallout: New Vegas Difficulty: 5/10 (grindy) Enjoyment: 7/10 Had fun with this after taking a long break from it. ? I decided to get all the DLCs and do the plat/100% in one go and it didn't take as long as I'd thought once I'd got the grindy 10k damage trophies out of the way. My only real complaint is that it's badly optimised for console, so once my save file got past 10kb I had to restart every 20 mins or so. Finishing this has got me in the mood to do the other Fallouts I haven't gotten around to playing. #84 Parappa the Rapper Remastered Difficulty: 4/10 (the 4th level pushes it up a bit because the timing is really off with the prompts) Enjoyment: 7/10 I never played this on ps1 but it's always interested me, couldn't resist the sale. Took maybe an hour to learn all the songs off by heart, which was (mostly) a good thing. #85 Master Reboot Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 Fun PS+ title, kind of a mild horror game. Has a generous amount of gold trophies too.

Popular Post Omar
#136 - Spyro the Dragon Gnasty's Demise - Collect all Spyro the Dragon trophies Achieved: November 18th, 2018 PSNP's RS: Uncommon Difficulty: 2 Enjoyment: 8 When I was about 6 years old, a family moved to our street and they had a kid my age, we bonded immediately and I would go to his house and he had a PS One, which I had never heard of. Playing Spyro with him was what made me ask my parents for one so my journey with PlayStation was ignited (pun intended) by Spyro. Seeing this game look so unbelievably good provides me with a type of satisfaction I cannot explain, but it feels great! The game plays great, sounds great, feels great. The difficulty I remembered hasn't aged too well as I am a more skillful gamer now so the game is overall easy for any recurrent console player. I appreciate the fact that the trophy list both forces you to get everything and at the same time includes requirements out of the game's natural progression, which adds variety. As a whole I had a super blast with it and the journey to 120% didn't even take 10 hours, so it's a quick one if you're looking for something like that. Now it's when the fun part comes, though, as the game I consider the best platforming videogame TO DATE is coming up next! Not ready for the nostalgia punch the almighty Spyro 2 will throw at me

Still holds up really well to this day, great platforming, variety, levels, and just good fun. I love how there is never a time the game has to load, it was really immersive back then and kind of still is. There were some levels I wasn't too fond of, particularly near the end of the game, it's solid stuff. Also, Daxter is just great. Looking forward to playing Jak 2 again...mostly! Popular Post thefourfoldroot
Got a few recently Last one was Cat Quest Fun: 7 Difficulty: 1 Just do side quests as you go along and you'll be high enough level to finish everything easily. Combat was extremely fun. Don't go in expecting a story though. Burly men at Sea fun: 3 Difficulty: 2 Difficulty of 2 just because it too me a while to figure out what to do for a few of the endings. Easier with a guide I guess, but it's so short it felt like I should figure it out myself. Ni No Kuni 2 Fun: 6 Difficulty 2 Difficulty of 2 just because of the end game grind testing my patience. I liked this better than the first die to the combat, but the Skirmish battles were tedious. 99Vidas: Fun 5 Difficulty 3 By you have the robot upgraded you'll know the boss patterns, everything else can be spammed with a range attack. Fun would be lower except I broke the game up by just playing on the commute to work.
