Popular Post Intoner_Zero
Plat #142: The 25th Ward- The Silver Case The second part of the hard boiled crime VN from Grasshopper Manufacture has been achieved! It really is a dark storyline with heavy David Lynch-esque bizarreness incorporated into it, but that is to be expected if you know what you're getting into as a Grasshopper/Suda51 fan. Would really recommend you play The Silver Case before starting this title, although there is an excellent summary of events that is laid out in one of the later chapters here. It was quite a while since I played the first game, so starting up this one just recently had me thinking who's who for a little bit, lol. Pretty straightforward with the trophies by just playing the game. Now, there's a certain amount of ridiculousness when playing Grasshopper games . . . but that All Endings trophy is some straight up troll bullshit.(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ 100 is just too much, just do the classic "51 type" of trophy (turtle talk non withstanding). And as always, endings that don't make sense and are open to interpretation. Will The Silver Case have a 3rd entry? By my feeling, probably not as playing the YUKI chapter had a sense of finality to it. So yeah, play at your own risk (maybe).¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edited April 13, 2020 by Bittersweet D'oh moment, oops

Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#353 - Ether One I had a good time with this for the most part. In this game, the player assumes the role of a "Restorer", whose job is to investigate the thoughts of Jean Thompson, a 69-year-old woman diagnosed with dementia. You must then reconstruct her memories using three-dimensional simulations of the details she can remember in the town of Pinwheel, solving puzzles that become more complicated as the game goes on. I thought the game did a great job of simulating the debilitating effects of the condition to be fair and the story itself was quite poignant. Hats off to the developers in that respect. Now this is a notoriously glitchy game but I have to be honest - I didn't encounter any of the game's many reported bugs. It may very well be the case that I simply got extremely lucky since the game is still very glitchy for many despite numerous patches and it's been a while since the last one. The only slight obstacle I encountered was having to redo the core memory photographs right at the end because the related trophy for it didn't pop as it seems I missed one or two. Thankfully I made a backup save before the point of no return after doing the last lot of them as I wasn't 100% sure I'd done them all anyway. Popular Post The Alchemist
400 - Red Dead Redemption II I absolutely adored every second I spent with this game. As with the majority of R* games, I was a huge fan of the first game, but this just upped everything a few levels more and blew me away from the first minute I spent with the game. I don't know how R* keep doing it, but they not only met expectations, but exceeded them once again. For me, this is my personal 'Game of the Generation' and one of the very best video games ever made, as well as being my tied personal favourite. The story, though a prequel, was excellent. IMO, Arthur's story exceeded that of John's in the first game. What a character! In fact, every character here was excellent and well written. Being Irish, it was great to see authentic Irish characters like Sean, who was one of the highlights of the game IMO. Don't get me wrong, I always get a good laugh when us lot get poked fun of, from movies to games to TV shows, but once in a while it's nice to see grounded, authentic versions of us in media, and boy did this game deliver on that front. The story was brilliant. Hilarious, fun, exciting, dramatic and heart wrenching, not only because of the ending (still get choked up thinking about it) but because we knew what would come later, during the events of the first game too. Seeing Arthur's personal progression and growth as he pondered and reflected on his life choices was amazing. The soundtrack was another highlight for me. There was one particular song which stood out but really it was all amazing. And not just the songs, but even the ambient noises. Everything was on point. I can't speak about this game, or any R* game, without bringing up the world of the game. IMO, this is R*'s best ever open world. For me one of the most important aspects of an open world game is that it must feel like a living, breathing world, full of detail and not just be a huge empty space, devoid of anything, like the Just Cause games for example (though I do enjoy these games to a degree also). R* are the kings of this and they once again nailed it. When you travel across the large map, it really feels like you're spending days travelling across the frontier. There's a real sense of time passing by and I really love when open world games do this, but it's a very rare quality. Even until recently, I was still discovering new locations and little secrets, it really is amazing the amount of detail that goes into a game like this. The game is absolutely gorgeous and I never tired of travelling across the map and taking it all in. The MP portion will always be the weakest part of a R* game IMO, and true enough that is the same here. HOWEVER, once I went back to the game after a long absence, the MP was completely transformed. I actually had a lot of fun with it ranking up to level 50. I mainly stuck to the roles, mostly the collector role, rather than TDM and the likes and it basically felt like the single player portion because I was never interrupted and just travelled around the map collecting stuff, occasionally hunting along the way, living the life of a cowboy, just me and my good boah named Bolt In conclusion (anyone who is stuck reading this to the end is probably bored of my effusive praise by now, so i'll end it here), this is a true masterpiece. I understand that the slow pacing, and sometimes wonky controls may not be to everyone's taste. I get that some people will still love the first game more, or may not even love this game at all. But... BUT... you should absolutely give the game a go if you're undecided. You may hate it, you may love it even more than I do, but whatever you think about it in the end, at least you'll have got the experience of playing through this game, and I doubt very much that even the most ardent haters of this game won't find at least a few aspects they enjoy, so give it a shot and hopefully you'll get as much enjoyment from it as I did.
Popular Post Draps-1337
#43 Code Vein Code vein took a little bit to get into, but after conquering the Cathedral I was hooked. The platinum wasn't too bad to get either, requiring 3 playthroughs minimum, however, the NG+ in code vein is pretty cool you get the option to go into NG+ without increasing the difficulty! Making the 2nd and 3rd playthroughs essentially speedruns. There is only 1 trophy that is a doozy. getting level 30 reputation. a feat requiring you to play multiplayer for 10+ hours in the game's dungeons (perhaps more if you're relying on the game's matchmaking and don't have someone to boost with) or complete the games hardest trials solo repeatedly to get the reputation without multiplayer. Glad to add this platinum to my collection though! #44 Punchline Picked up this common platinum on the weekend. A wacky story about trying to avoid looking at panties while trying to save the world from an incoming asteroid. Participating in the story without skipping made the game take about 12 hours. however, if you were to skip all the dialogue and just go for the trophies, this could probably be done in around 3 hours. Happy hunting!
Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #87 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Back on the early days of the PS4, when the console library was much smaller than it is now, I watched on Facebook the trailer for the HD version of Type-0, to be released for the then new Playstation, and I was very excited. The game was pretty, the combat caught my attention, and having multiple characters to control convinced me to buy my PS4 earlier than expected. The day I played, however, I felt frustrated, because the game was not as good as I thought. I think what made me give up years ago, and almost made me do the same thing few days ago, is that the story at the beginning is much more focused on the war between Rubrum and Militesi than on the characters. And I dont know if I skipped something, or didnt pay enough attention, but sometimes I felt a little lost, like this game was a sequel, and not a standalone title. After a few chapters the characters start to have more cutscenes, and you can also see more of them on optional ones that you can watch during your free time, which helped me to warm up to the story. Toward the ending I was engaged, and although the way things turned out to be surprised me, the ending is very good. Not only it is very beautiful, specially the last scene, but it was a nice closure to the story. The combat, one of the points that made me interested in the game, is good. It is fast paced, and you need to learn to manage your MP, because you can run out of it pretty fast if you use too much magic. There are abilities that use another gauge, the AG one, that replenish when you do basic attacks. Overral I think the game is fairly easy. I played on Officer (normal), and didnt have problems. I was always trying to do requests, so I fought plenty of battles on world map, and my level was almost all game higher than the advised for the missions, something that maybe made the game easier. The only challenge you will have are the bosses. There is a mechanic, killsight, that allow you do to more damage to an enemy when you hit them between a specific window of time, normally after or before certain attacks. This is fundamental in all boss fights, and in some it is a pain to trigger them. The AI, that normally is pretty competent in staying alive and healing you, is pretty useless during boss fights, so I advise you to fight against them solo. Since you should have at least 6 characters at high levels, if things go south, you have options to switch to. I dont know if there are op characters, but I mainly controled Ace, Queen and Trey, often using Deuce, Rem and Seven alongside them. The graphics are inconsistent. The protagonists models are very well made, I dare to say of similar quality to the ones in FFXV, but the other characters and the texture of all maps are of PSP quality. I think this is to be expected, since this was a remaster of a very inferior hardware to a much more potent one, but the contrast that this cause is funny at times. On the other side the soundtrack is amazing at all times, absolutely 10/10. The platinum is very easy. You will get most trophies naturally, and the few ones that need grind, like the one to hatch chocobos can be acquire very easily. Apparently this game keep track of everything you do, even if you do not save. So if you, for example, save before hatching the eggs, hatch then, go to the tittle screen and come back, this count toward the trophy. Since I had played a little previously, I unlocked several trophies this way, like the one to retrieve tags, that I unlocked with 21 Knowing Tags. Besides, if you're having a rough time, you can always switch to easy, or use the XP exploit method. Also, contrary to most FF titles, this one is very short. My completion time was around 30 hours. Reading some opinions while I was struggling to like this game, I can say that like the others FF's under the Fabula Nova Chrystalis series, this game is hit or miss. Some like, others think that it is trash, and others a masterpiece. If you, like me, didnt like it from the start, I advise you to play a little more, because it is worth. Even with its highs and lows, this is a solid game.
Popular Post Masamune
Touhou Genso Wanderer Mystery Solver Obtained all other trophies. Difficulty: 7/10 Enjoyment: 6.5/10 Playtime: 140:20:28 (1 month, 4 days, 15 hours) Screenshot: This is really the perfect screenshot for this game, as I probably made that same expression multiple times while playing it. ? Spoiler Holy hell, I was not expecting that much work needing to go into that (don't let the PSN rarity fool you, it's definitely worth PSNP's UR rank). ? I mean, parts of the game were pretty fun, but a lot of the dungeons you need to complete don't let you bring anything in with you, & most things you find will be unidentified (aka: skin diving), these things SUCK. It seems like over half the enemies in the game have some way to screw with your inventory too, & while you can get certain abilities to defend against most of them, good luck finding them all while in a skin diving dungeon. Getting through these dungeons in one piece can also require you to have some sickeningly good luck with RNG, there will be many, many times you have to abuse the auto-save function to redo a floor (I'd consider this game near unplayable without it). I wouldn't be surprised if I had to reset the game 300+ times, just because some cheap shit happened that destroyed my weapon I put hours into making, or I stepped on a trap that caused some other incident to occur... it just kinda gets mind numbing at a certain point. Surprisingly my favorite dungeon was the 1000 floor one in post-game (although I only went up to 100F). This is the only dungeon in the game (afaik) that actually lets you exit & still saves your character's levels, then you can enter back in at any other floor you've been too (probably the best place to level equipment in the game). Honestly if the entire game was like this, I probably would've rated it 9/10 (maybe even higher). Now onto the trophies... The most annoying ones by far are definitely where you have to complete all the crafting recipes... there's 765 of them! & for an extra layer of suckiness, most of the recipes don't even show up if you don't have the first ingredient, @Shadiochao put together a list of all these recipes though (which was a godsend, thank you), that took a lot of the tediousness out of it... but it still took me 1-2 weeks to do. ? Collecting 10M yen may seem like a daunting task at first, but I made 28M in a single run of the Old Well dungeon. As long as you find 6-7 of those Gamble spell card & just save scum them towards the end of the dungeon to keep doubling your money, you should be able to get to that mark fairly easily. Collecting all the cut-ins (character art) aren't that bad either as long as you know what to do, that main one that may take some time is Rinnosuke's, since you have to find a fairly rare shop that only appears in a few select dungeons (I probably seen him 3-4 times total). Okay, I think that's enough for now (that's about twice as much as I usually say about the games I play). ? Overall it was enjoyable, but there were just too many tedious aspects to it as well... I know the Reloaded version made some improvements to the gameplay (& may not require completing all those recipes?), but I don't think I'll be getting it... at least not any time soon (I probably should've started with that one & ignored this one). ? Popular Post ViciousAly
#52 Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice DoneCollect all of the other trophies Rarity at the time of posting: 40.85% (UNCOMMON) Picked it up during a sale around 8 months ago and loved it! Since I do not follow any trophy guides when starting a game, so during the first playthrough I missed around 10 lore stones and that was the only trophy left to achieve the platinum, and with no chapter select or skippable cutscenes, it wasn't inspiring enough to sit through almost 80% of the game again to get the missing lore stones. But due to the quarantine currently, I went back and finally pushed on to get the missing lore stones (I will admit was not too thrilled replaying some of the parts that I completely wanted to avoid due to scare factor :p) Difficulty - 2/10 Enjoyment - 7/10

How Atlus managed to weave in the extra content into the main game the way they did is mind blowing to me. Very enjoyable and worth the price even if you played P5 before, atleast to me it was. Very easy to platinum especially compared to the original. Also looks very crispy on PS4 Pro, everything looks so much better. Popular Post Undead Wolf
#313 - Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns Eternal Light Proof of a true master who has excelled in all things and has collected all possible trophies. This is the Majora's Mask of Final Fantasy games, and it works surprisingly well. The goal is to complete all the main quests and as many side quests in the allotted time frame as possible. Finish a large amount of them and you'll unlock the final day along with the bonus dungeon. I think the whole time mechanic thing is really cool, forcing you to plan out your actions when not in combat. If you do well, you'll still have plenty of free time left over, and you even get the ability to stop time, so it's not as stressful as you might think. Another thing about this game I really liked are the schemata, and not only because a lot of the outfits make Lightning look super hot. There's a lot of fun to be had customising them and making a powerful build. You're given loads of freedom in what order you want to approach things or where you want to go. The maps are large and there's plenty to explore and discover. It's hard to believe this is in the same trilogy of games that Corridor Simulator was. The combat is also more satisfying than the previous two games too because of how snappy it is. Press a button and Lightning will perform the action right away - no more relying on Auto Battle. It's not as button-mashy as something like FFXV either because of the ATB gauge. You actually have to think about what you're doing. Lightning Returns may not be much of a Final Fantasy game (I mean you don't even have a party in this one), but it's still a very good game. Easily my favourite of the FFXIII trilogy.

Popular Post Dr_Mayus
Plat 291 - Wild Arms 3 Sigh ...I have mixed emotions on this game. Let us start off with the good. First off that plat image is fantastic. I like the setting of the game, I think an Old West RPG is a great idea. Um...I am running out of positives. Why didn't this game work? The setting...yes an Old West RPG would work. An RPG where demons are being dreamed up to download a virus to bring back eternal beings from the tree in space by creating clones of entities that were lost...I think that was what happened? I honestly didn't skip any dialog but I was so fucking lost in the story I honestly have no idea what happened. It became such a convoluted mess that I just gave up by the end. The bosses...I fought the same 4 or so bosses over and over and over in this game. It became sad after awhile because people just kept coming back for more ass kicking and they never got tougher. Nothing was really a threat in the game because if you keep beating the same person up it loses all sense of urgency. I also would love when I would win a fight with full health and then the cut scene would be me on the ground and the villain saying "I won't finish you now"....what the fuck fight was he watching? During the experience screen did he somehow get a bunch of hits on me? Speaking of bosses, the main villain changed 3 times in the game and every time it did I cared less and less. I mean by the end I was beating a little girl that appeared as a vision and no one had ever mentioned her before...I mean I still don't know who Beatrice was. The combat...once you figure out what to do you will never lose a fight. I had all these spells I never used because Gatling Gun was all you needed (with the girl pumping Full Carrots at everyone). I took down the biggest boss (999,999 health) without ever having to revive a single character, in fact they were never even in danger of dying. The map...FUCK THIS MAP...I have complained in status updates already but to find anything you first have to talk to the right person in some town and then run around where you think the map is and keep pressing until you find it. Even when you know where it is you have to keep pressing until it pops up. I constantly had to keep looking at guides to find out where to go and of course the guides don't always tell you "hey, talk to this one NPC in a town you visited 2 hours ago because he has a new line of dialog that you need to hear before the town will appear"...fuck this type of navigation. The abyss...this dungeon can go fuck right off (sorry for all the swearing). If you do it normally the Abyss is 100 floors of running around on small bridges (that you can easily fall off if you are not careful) and collect little gems (about 6 per floor) all the while either dodging enemies or fighting a battle every couple of seconds. This would take around 6 hours of game time. Think the Wandering Dungeon from Star Ocean 4 but with 0 variety. Now the preferred method is to wait until the final boss when all random encounters are turned off and instead of 6 hours it only takes 2 hours. But that is 2 hours of wandering down samey looking floors collecting gems with 0 chance of danger....so it is just busy work (but a 1/3 the time). That is the thing about this game...it was mostly just guess work or busy work and that ceased to be fun. They could have done so much with this game...but they tried to cram all the stupid "fantasy" aspects of RPGs into what should have been a Western adventure. Now I just want to say there is nothing wrong with Fantasy aspects, just they have to be done right otherwise it reads as a bad Fanfic and the Internet has enough of those. The funny thing is the game I platted before Wild Arms was Dragon Quest XI which also dealt with Yggdrasil and had 3 separate acts where the villain changed as the story progress but the difference was I couldn't stop praising DQXI and couldn't stop complaining about Wild Arms 3...so that is why story and good writing matters. Sorry for the rant...I just got really pissed off while playing this game.
Popular Post ZoutjeNL
#31 Nioh 2 Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Man Team Ninja nailed it again! Such a great game improving in almost all aspects over the first (which I already loved)! The two new weapons are a lot of fun I chose the Switchglaive for the playthrough and it was a lot of fun switching easyily from stance to stance. The Soul cores are a great addition too. Really loved it from start to end. My only complaint is some missions from Nioh 1 are returning which I find quite lazy in design. Overall a top tier game, looking forward to the more difficult DLC, bring it on!!!
Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#354 - Black: The Fall This was an enjoyable puzzle/platformer that also provides an interesting dystopian future style take on Communism and it's effects. You play as a factory worker named Black who after decades of relentless hard work, has grown tired of the regime that follows and manipulates his every action, and one day after another gruelling shift at the factory he works at, decides to make his escape. The art style contained within is absolutely stunning whilst also foreboding. The developers did a great job of creating an oppressive, controlling and bleak looking world. There are numerous puzzles in the game and most of these are around a medium on the difficulty scale. Not too simple and not too taxing but they did make me think. The only slight fault I would level at the game is that it almost felt like it got easier as it went on and the earlier stages certainly felt more more difficult to me. The latter stages also feature a lot more platforming than the first half or so which is a lot more puzzle heavy. Overall though, two thumbs up. I enjoyed it ?? Popular Post BlackSnake1435
Platinum #42 Resident Evil 3 Enjoy: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 After the great Resident Evil 2 Remake, I was expecting a Remake of the third installment in the series, which was at its time and even nowdays, my absolute favorite. I pre-ordered the game on the store because I knew that I wouldn't be receiving the physic version due to COVID19, and I must say, I don't regret I did it. Resident Evil 3 is a great game and a good resident evil game which is more action-based but the survival horror esence is still present on the game, I loved how they developped the personality of Jill and many other characters. However, it is true that the game is short (But for me, on the average of any RE game) and that some parts of the original game were cut off, and that's why I still prefer the original. Nevertheless, I had a great time with it, but if you are not very fon of this series, wait for a discount.
Popular Post Cthulu-72
#181 - Platinum Trophy - The Complex I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this game. The only other live action game I've played was The Bunker, which was good but this was a lot more engaging for me. The acting is good and the story is not original but interesting enough. Some pretty brutal endings too. Not too long or difficult to platinum, just use PowerPyx's guide, has flowchart which really helps. I recommend it highly, especially for the price which is decent even new. But do your first playthrough blind, it's worth it, takes maybe 70 minutes and the cleanup is easy.

Not to mention Royal looks like it'll be a breezy plat in comparison.
