whodeygamer
#9: Realm Royale I originally started this game back in 2019 and only got the bronze trophies. Fast forward to last month, I decided to get back into the game and try to get the platinum. The trophy that gave me the most trouble was Decimation, which requires you to kill at least 11 opponents in a single match. I finally managed to do that in solo mode. Popular Post acidkai_ak
#40: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 I'm very surprised how this remake is amazing and blew my expectations. Activision and their developer, Vicarious Visions (same makers of Crash N. Sane Trilogy) did a great job making the controls smooth, having lots of replay value, and playing nostalgia copyright music from the older THPS games. Probably one of the fewest games I will come back to play once in a while. As for platinum difficulty, this game was pretty challenging. Even with a new easier update and having multiple YT video guides, it was still difficult. The one trophy stood out was: "Got There" Complete all "Hard" Get-Theres In a nutshell, you have to do multiple certain tricks on specific areas (gaps) in one combo. Do this on 19 different maps and you are golden. Good News: - Short time combos (around 20 sec. to 1 min.) Bad News: - Requires almost frame perfect timing on jumps, speed, and grinds. - Replays very quickly if you mess up. - Using balance alot more on these combos. *This killed my runs* Some took me about 10-20 minutes. Others took me about 2-3 hours. Overall, I enjoyed this challenge and THPS 1+2 really tests your fundamentals of skating controls and timing. Amazing game and a great platinum to have to show-off your skills. Edited April 25, 2021 by acidkai_ak
Popular Post Meettchii
Platinums 53 and 54 Both PS3 and PS4 versions. Difficulty: 7.5/10 Enjoyment: To infinity and Beyond / 10 I finally platted my favorite Platinum Games game (my top 3 fav PG games are Vanquish, Max Anarchy and Metal Gear Rising... special mentions: MADWORLD and Transformers Devastation) I initially played the PC port and ended up picking up the PS3 and PS4 versions afterwards. Thanks to Sony's initial announcement about closing down the PS3 store and all that stuff, I went ahead and downloaded everything I had since I assumed they were gonna terminate the online services on PS3 (including the ability to logging to PSN and syncing trophies) soon after shutting down the PS Store. Despite reversing their shitty decision, I decided to just go the "fuck it" route and wrap up my PS3 and Vita backlog, Vanquish just happened to be at the top of my backlog list. Vanquish is a typical PG game... BLOODY DAMN SHORT, BUT MY GOODNESS.... ITS SAUCE LEVELS ARE OFF THE CHARTS ?. Tactical challenges aside, the platinum journey was smooth. I had to restart my PS3 playthrough after I missed out on a statue. Instead of keep playing then worrying about the statue later, I went back to the mission select screen and continued playing from there, which voided all chapter-related trophies. I didn't realize that until I was at the end of Act 3... Yeh, I am built stupid ?. I would like to politely extend my middle finger to Tactical Challenge 4 and the beginning of round 4 on Tactical Challenge 6, that shit was extremely annoying. Anyways... CAN WE PLEASE GET VANQUISH 2 (and MGR2)? PLEASE?!?!?!?!? I am willing to suplex a unicorn to get a sequel, prequel, presequel, spin off...WHATEVER, I just need more Vanquish in my life. Thank you very much!
Popular Post StraightVege
All trophies obtained #271 By now, it's no secret that I resent how ubiquitous Ubisoft's open world formula has become in AAA game design, and Horizon, too, lacks much of its own identity when examining the gameplay alone—I didn't exactly have the time of my life collecting coffee mugs and clearing bandit camps. That said, the game's setting had enough originality to easily warrant a playthrough. Humanity's return to primitivism contrasts in fascinating ways with the ultra futuristic technology left behind by an extinct civilization, culturally permeating everything from the superstitions imagined by game's various tribes, to their chic fashion choices. I often felt like something of a post-apocalyptic investigator, piecing together events which led to the world's collapse through snippets of information found in ruined places of old. This optional material—newspaper articles, audio diaries and the like—nicely fleshes out Horizon's background with frighteningly plausible events, and the process of discovering new facts had me thoroughly engrossed for a time. At least, until the surprisingly short main quest started machine-gunning exposition at me, and I kind of zoned out. "Here's a holographic illustration of exactly what happened" just isn't as interesting as playing Sherlock Holmes at the end of the world, y'know? Part of me wishes they had committed fully to a more subtle method of storytelling, but I get it: they were aiming for maximum mainstream appeal here. Even so, Horizon has to be one of my favorite depictions of a post-apocalyptic world: terrifyingly believable and melancholy, yet strikingly beautiful and hopeful at the same time. Considering how well the game does representation of minority groups, I'm shocked that it hasn't been decried by capital G gamers as "too political"—or perhaps it has, and I simply missed that particular fiasco (thankfully). Not at all the sort of game I'd want to play frequently, since the repetitive tasks bored me, and I really couldn't connect with the combat, but it was worthwhile for the unique sci-fi experience alone. Hope to try the sequel someday, in the distant future, when PS5's aren't merely a myth. With any luck, Boston Dynamics robots won't have conquered the world by then. Popular Post Boomshanks
( 62) Rayman Legends Legendary Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Sooo the original intention was to have another game to play in co-op, though I ended up completing the entire game solo. I had never played a Rayman game before but this one was free on Plus, I had heard good things about it and I love me a good platformer so it was an easy choice to try out. After playing it one day and then not touching it again, I decided to come back to it because I heard the online is a huge undertaking and I didn’t want to risk being too late to start if the servers ever go down. And I loved it ?! It took me a while to get good at the game but the story does a nice job of slowly amping up the difficulty. The story levels were incredible with varied landscapes and being able to play all of the Origins levels was great since I had never played that game before. The controls are really solid and responsive which is an absolute must in any platformer. I played through the entire story first and then went back for the cleanup, getting all of the teensies, the lucky tickets and the gold and diamond cups. And the more I played it, the more I loved the game. There is so much to do in this game and the goals are always challenging but never unfair. I didn´t expect to like the Invasion levels as much as I did, but they´re short and it´s incredibly addicting to try just one more time to shave a few seconds off your time. What helps is that a restart is almost instantaneous. An absolute highlight for me were the musical levels. Seriously, whoever thought of that deserves a raise . After a while I was really immersed in the game, completing the daily and weekly challenges and then some story missions, slowly completing more and more levels and working my way towards the platinum. I had a lot of fun with it. But then came the moment where I had fully completed all story levels and only the challenges were left… and the massive grind began. The daily challenges are fun. Really, they are. But you just need to complete too many long after the story is done. I think it took me about 4 months of just doing the online challenges to finally get to level 11. The experience is like a happy marriage at first where you have a lot of fun together and everything just feels great and special, but then the magic fades and you end up in a longwinded and drawn out divorce trial that you have to keep coming back to over and over and that feels like it just wont end ⚰️. I just started phoning it in mostly, trying each challenge once, getting a silver and then calling it a day. I had resigned myself to spend about 10 minutes every day on this game for the coming months. But since I had to do this daily, my lovely girlfriend started watching me play and actually took an interest in the challenges . She motivated me to keep trying even after I got a silver and soon we were doing the challenges over and over to improve our score and get a gold cup, which started happening more and more often. More importantly, we started having a lot of fun with the challenges and it became a nice part of our daily schedule for a few months. And though I never would have thought it beforehand, part of me actually misses doing the challenges together every day now that the plat is in the pocket.
Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #106 The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (PS4) The Legends of Heroes series, alongside Ys, are Nihon Falcom main franchises. Having JRPGs as one my main gaming interests, I had heard good things about the Trails series, but never got to play any. My only Nihon Falcom experience prior to this was Tokyo Xanadu on Vita, a game I rated as pretty average and disappointing, so I was a bit worried before starting. But did the first game of the series live up to its good fame, or was it also a poor experience? I will start with the story, to me the most important part of an JRPG. In this game we follow the story of Rean Schwarzer and his classmates of the very first class VII of the Thors Military Academy of the Erebonia Empire, on West Zemuria. The world is very interesting. It is past meets present, reality meets fiction: it is a world of sword, guns, tanks, long range artillery, monsters, "magic", etc. Also on JRPGs normally the driving force are things like the ressurection of the Demon Lord, the birth of the Hero, a prophecy, a evil wizard, etc. In this game the driving force of the story are the political parties struggling over control of the Erebonian politic and the relationship between the Empire and its neighbors, mainly the Calvard Repbulic, and the contested territory of Crossbell between the two countries. So many of the dialogue is about things that you would not normally expect to see on an JRPG, but do not fear: there are plenty of "classic JRPG moments" and anime troupes. The cast is very good, and while doing my second playthrough I realized how much they grew during the game, and it made the story even more satisfying. The combat and customization system is also very good. In this game characters have two kinds of skills: crafts, that are unique to each characters and gained through leveling up, and arts, that are customizable through quartz. This way you can adjust each character to your needs and playstyle. Not only this, the combat itself is satisfying: arts need to be cast, they are not used immediately. On the other hand crafts dont have this downside, but you need to wait longer after using one. You can move on the arena, and sometimes this can prove very useful in avoiding attacks on a certain area, or positioning someone in a safer place. Some arts affect a target and the surrounding area, normally a circle. Others can be used freely in a target location, normally a circle or a line, of varying wides. All of those elements bring a level of complexity to the combat, specially on later chapters and on Nightmare. Graphics are the game weakest point. I played a bit on Vita before (gave up because of lack of JP audio, eng dub sucks on games like this), and even there I thought that it was lacking, even comparing to others games of the same timg. But it reminded my of Tales of Hearts: poor graphics, but very good game. Besides you should not be looking for top tier graphics on a JRPG of almost 10 years ago. For the most part the soundtrack is just ok, but some musics, specially on key story moments and on boss fights are very good. The platinum is not hard. There are many missable trophies, so you will definitely need to use a guide. Aside from cancelling arts, there is nothing to grind for, especially if you often use burst and rush attacks. You should definitely aim to get at least 5 bonding trophies on your first playthrough to avoid having to run the last dungeon more than one time. Playing on Nightmare is not as scary as the name sounds. You will breeze through most of the game, aside from the bosses of chapters 5 and 6 and everything after the last dungeon. The boss there was the one that gave me the most trouble, and even though the fight dragged out, I came victorious on my first try. The last boss is also not as hard as people say online. Your priority should buffing yourself two times and keeping the buff at all times. This makes your attacks deal almost 5x the damage, and will make your rush hurt a lot. I didnt even use dodge. Rean was lvl 69. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is an amazing JRPG. If you are a fan of the genre, you should definitely try it. The setting is different from most games of the genre, but the characters and the story are amazing. And the past part? There are 3 sequels, so I am really looking forward to playing the others on the future.

Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #89 - Yakuza 3 Platinum Trophy - Earn all other trophies in the game. 54,077 Owners - 1,712 Achievers for a percentage of 3.17% (average completion; 21.16%) Enjoyment; 10/10 Difficulty; 9/10 Trophies; 7/10 ('actual' Trophies for tiles although many are repeated, decent names, diverse requirements) Desire to visit Okinawa; 10/10 On April 25th 2010, I received Yakuza 3 for my 17th birthday. I hadn't played the previous games in the series but had seen a bit of gameplay and a friend was really excited for it. The game had come out a month earlier but as I wasn't the most well-funded, I had my grandparents get it for me. Poor gran, she must have been so confused in the game store - and that cover probably didn't look too inviting. Fans of Yakuza will know, the Western version of 3 arguably has the worst cover in the entire series. After the guests had left, I booted the game up in the evening to give this series ago, and never looked back. Today, eleven years on from that night (on my 28th birthday, where has the time gone), my journey to the hardest Platinum in the series has come to an end; the gorgeous bust of Kiryu that serves as the Plat is now in my collection. And it's also my 5,000th Trophy. Through a lot of effort, I've managed to contrive matters so that the Platinum popped exactly eleven years almost to the second whilst also hitting a massive milestone. (not sure where those five days, four hours come from....) And this game deserves it. 3 is the single-most divisive game in the long-running Yakuza series due to its notoriously slow start, ridiculous plot (including a crossover villain from Resident Evil), and block-happy enemy combatants. Although the game opens strong with a fight against Majima with the gorgeous Tokyo skyline serving as a backdrop, protagonist Kazuma Kiryu moves his affairs to the southern island chain of Rykyu where he opens an orphanage near a town bearing the same name. Players are served to hours of slice-of-life content both via the main story and substories, and many continue to balk at the game's supposedly glacial pace even though a decade has now passed. I loved Yakuza 3, though. From start to finish, despite all its shortcomings. Perhaps it's a case of rose-tinted glasses and this being my first foray into the series, but I just loved every second of it. It was my gateway into what would become far and away my favourite series of video games - I really did never look back once I stepped into Kamurocho for the first time that day in April. But Yakuza 3 did pull me back on occasion as its Platinum requirements are grueling; the infamous Minigame Master demands perfection across many different types of gameplay and has been a Plat killer for many - including me, until I finally managed to clear it in 2020. With it and the ever-awful Ultimate Skill challenges over and done with, I replayed the game on EX HARD up until the final stage and left it there for the stars to align in terms of my birthday, game anniversary, and milestones. (still not sure where the five days come from for the Yakuza 3 timespan - popped both the first and last Trophies on April 25th, must be the way Sony or PSNP calculate dates over years?) So, with the Plat, the journey has come to an end. I now own all four Yakuza PS3 Platinum Trophies (I sure do love popping them on birthdays - regretting 5's date now), and in the years between that first fight against Majima and the final battle on EX HARD, I've earned two university degrees, moved countries twice, and lined up my own move to a tropical island in a couple of years. Just to show how far you can come in life while still popping hard-as-nails Trophies left and right. Edited April 26, 2021 by Golem25

Popular Post Starrk_01
Plat #188: Grand Theft Auto III (PS4) First time playing through this game fully, but this game definitely shows its age compared to the latter GTA games. Cars blowing up randomly w/o any sign of damage (I'm looking at you Mafia shotgun @$$holes), wonky car physics, and no map in the main menu. The missions themselves weren't too terrible, but trying to figure out the best routes to take w/o looking at the map is difficult to say the least. Same thing when getting the collectible; literally had to have the island map burned into my mind to make sure I wasn't lost.
Popular Post Undead Wolf
#354 - Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness Trophy Complete You have obtained all trophies As far as VN's go, I thought this was a pretty mediocre one, and that's coming from someone who was already invested in the setting/characters as I'm familiar with the first season of the anime. I just didn't find the story here all that compelling and the new characters weren't nearly as likable as the ones I already knew from the anime. It certainly wasn't awful or anything, but there weren't really any moments that stuck out to me that made all the reading worth it. Honestly, I think my favourite part about this game was the puzzle minigame in the extras menu. You have to play it a good bit to earn points in order to purchase all the CG's/voice lines, but I enjoyed every moment of it. The later levels especially were a fun little challenge. #355 - Sakura Succubus Lovely Succubus Find everything there is to find about your Succubus friends. Oh man, reading this VN was an evening well spent! It took me just shy of 3 hours to get through it all and I loved every second of it. It's basically about a guy who starts his very own succubus harem. The story isn't important though, it's all about the girls, and they are damn fiiine. Some really great artwork. Here's one of the CG's as a teaser. ? Spoiler Never thought I'd see art like this on PlayStation again, but because this game isn't from a Japanese developer, Sony's censorship policy doesn't apply. Yeah, I don't get the logic either... But anyway, I look forward to seeing more Winged Cloud games on console. More than happy to support them when they're producing such high-quality content. ? Popular Post Biscoito18
#98 - Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 I should've played RE7 a long time ago but I always ended up postponing it. It's an excellent entry for the series and the first-person camera didn't bother me as I thought it would. My only complaints are that a good part of the game is quite linear especially after leaving the house, the few puzzles are very easy and most dialogues and scenes cannot be skipped, which makes multiple playthroughs a bit annoying (I did four). That said, the gameplay is great, all the characters are remarkable, especially Jack, Mia and Marguerite and the boss battles are memorable, intense and with little room for error. I also loved the story of Eveline's creation and all of its ethical and emotional conflict. Can't wait for Village! Most Recurring Trophy Title: Master of Unlocking So far all three major Resident Evil games made with RE Engine have a trophy with the same title, so it's safe to say that Village will have another "master of unlocking", alongside a trophy for speedrunning, to end the game using few or no healing items and do something using only the knife. Man, I love Resident Evil's trophy traditions.
Popular Post whodeygamer
#10: Stars Wars Jedi: Fallen Order It's been a long time since I've even remotely been interested in an EA game, but after hearing the positive reception this game was given, combined with the fact that it's a single player game WITHOUT MICROTRANSACTIONS, I ended up getting it. This is not only one of the best EA games ever, but it's also one of the best Star Wars games ever made, only behind Knights of the Old Republic in my opinion. This game is more than worthy of being the one I chose to be my first major platinum milestone.
Popular Post DrBloodmoney
#454 ?#586 Void Bastards Continuing my Rogue-like adventures, Void Bastards is a tongue-in-cheek, cell-shaded FPS rogue-like, with a metric ton of personality, some slick, if a little simple, shooter mechanics, and a very satisfying gameplay loop - with a few small but notable problems in it's design. The Good: The game looks brilliant. I don't know that I have ever seen Cell-Shading done this well before - pause at any point, and the screen looks like a perfect, crisp, clean comic book page - which is impressive already - but even in motion, the game looks great, and moves with a smoothness that should make other games doing similar styles blush. (looking at you Borderlands games.) The gameplay loop is simple and satisfying - amounting to 5 increasing levels of difficulty, in which you need to find and/or craft specific items in order to progress to the next stage, and ultimately "escape the Nebula" i.e. complete a run. This comprises a board-game style over-map, navigation of which requires management of food and fuel stocks, avoidance of hazards and selection of different ships to board in order to find materials, fuel, food, bullets and weaponry etc. to continue. A large part of the game is managing which vessels to board and which to avoid - and trying to avoid situations where you need to board a vessel too tough to deal with just to survive. The game's style and humour are well done, and very polished - the cutscenes are done super well, are very well drawn and are genuinely funny, as is the cheerfully homicidal voice over of your helper AI and the AI's on the ships. "SECBOT IS ON THE WAY, AND WILL END YOUR LIFE SHORTLY. PLEASE REMAIN CALM" might have sent a chill down my occipital during difficult sections, but it remains amusing ? I laughed quite a few times while playing this, and that is relatively rare ☺️ I particularly enjoyed the amount of Scottish-centric humour (actually, even more specific than that, it seems to be Glasgow-centric, which, as a Glasgow boy through-and-through, I was down for!). The Pirates all talk in broad Glasgow accents, One of the craftable items is a can of Irn Bru (for those unfamiliar, that is pretty much Scotland's national soda - made from girders don'cha know,) and the trophy for catching a Garbage Collector on the Map is even called 'Mingin' - which I can only assume is a joke that will make sense to about 2% of the players of the game, but I'm one of them! The Not So Good: There are some issues with the game design and the trophy list that I had though, which, while not ruining the experience, did hamper it a little. It seems like the game has been designed with a much higher focus on stealth than the gameplay actually allows for. There will often be times when you have no available weapons that can deal with particular enemy types, but are forced to board a vessel featuring them. that would be cool if there were ways to sneak around effectively, but the random layouts of the ships and the enemies means that often, you will have no way of even leaving the first room without engaging with 10 of that enemy immediately, virtually guaranteeing a quick death. Maybe I missed something, but even spec-ing full stealth, still only gives you about an extra 2 seconds before all hell breaks loose, and is not a viable way to play. The only way to deal with these situations is to run like fuck, and hope and prey - which is sometimes great fun, but often just feels hopeless, and like you are flinging characters to their death like fodder, hoping the next one will have better luck. Speaking of random layouts, they are a little too random for my liking. In some other rogue-like games, the 'randomness' is finessed in order to ensure that you are never presented with a level that is impossible, or so hard it is unreasonable. Void Bastards does not do that. I quite often was transported to ships where there were 10 or 15 super hard enemies in the very first room, making it virtually impossible to progress there. However, quitting to menu and reloading, would redistribute the enemies, and make the very same level a cake-walk. This suggests the difficulty is not deliberate, but rather an accident, and means the player feels more that they are bashing against an RNG, rather than playing against a crafted game. The other major issue is the trophy list, which seems to actively work against enjoying the game. Most of the trophies are fine and fun -the usual ones for' complete on X difficulty', 'complete without dying' etc. but there are also separate trophies for completing the game with various 'limitations' in place, and these are not stackable. Completing the game with the 'NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND' limitation, does not also unlock the 'COMPLETE WITH NO GUNS', 'COMPLETE WITH NO SECONDARY WEAPONS' or the 'COMPLETE WITH NO PASSIVE WEAPONS', meaning that the player is required to do 4 separate runs (at least) where some kind of weapon limitation is in place. All of these runs feel broadly the same, and are irritating in exactly the same ways (see above, about lack of viable stealth). That means that if you go for the platinum, you will have likely done far more playing with these limiters (which are a challenge, but not as much fun as engaging with all the weapons the game has to offer), than playing 'as intended', so to speak, without them. It also means you are pretty burned out by the time that platinum pops. All in all, Void Bastards is an enjoyable, tough-but-not-too-tough Roguelike FPS, (a genre of which there aren't many good offerings). Tons of personality, tons of style, tons of humour, and tons of fun. Just beware - if going for the platinum, you might need to forgo some of that fun for a good chunk of the time!
Popular Post raing3
Finally finished the Fortnite grind after originally giving up on it. For the longest time I didn't really like the game (BR I still don't like and wish I could play on my own). The Batman collaboration in September 2019 got me on board though and I finally grew to enjoy it. The platinum isn't hard, especially if you've got some higher level players helping you early on, it is however extremely grindy. Among the 3 Fortnite platinums they represent: My 100th platinum. My 10,000th trophy. My rarest platinum. My fastest platinum. Additionally: 999 current profile views. Some tips/notes for others going for the platinum: The game is cross save (PC, Xbox and PlayStation). Trophies auto-pop when you've earned them on platform/region, with the exception of "All Together Now". The most useful aspects of my loadout were: Wukongs ability (extra jumps as a ninja) - Allows fast map traversal. Stoneheart Farah lead + Xenon Bow weapon - Fast and fairly low cost husk kills (sniper buffing support heroes are also useful here). Hover Turret - In low level areas (at least when fully upgraded) can usually protect survivors on top of cars/vans while you explore the rest of the map. Note: a lot of these are seasonal items so will need to obtain Hero/Weapon vouchers (via ventures) or wait it out until they appear in a quest or the item shop. Having a group of 2-3 other players who are going for the platinum is probably super useful for reducing the grind as build/survivors/world explorations count for all players in the session. Plays Well with Others I think I hated this trophy the most. I ended up doing a lot of it in Plankerton which probably worsened my experience. So many frustrating players looking for trades, not voting to start the mission, leaving, putting you in a trade box, etc. Probably the tip here would be having at least 1 other person with you can make it a lot more fun as you have more votes towards starting the mission and can share the workload for building around the objective, exploring and rescuing survivors. Talented Builder If this is one of your last trophies you can idle grind builds using 2 different systems/accounts in an SSD. One with a rubber band in the pick-axe motion and another with a rumber band in the build motion. Once you have completed the number of builds you are looking to do start the SSD or a Wargame. Somtething to note: I tried to do this overnight a few times but always woke to a Network dropout error in the morning which nullifies any builds. Unspeakable Horrors Setting up a good Canny Valley SSD and reaching endurance is a good way to get this challenge done. It will still take a good while but if you make it to the later waves (takes a couple of hours) you can get a few hundred per attempt. Once you reach wave 10 is when mist monsters really start to spawn. Even if you fail before reaching wave 30 the mist monster kills still count towards the challenge. All Together Now This was bugged for ages but was fixed some time ago. It used to be a daily which used to require completing 3 play with others missions, it is now a daily which requires rescuing 50 survivors. Just make sure you login every day and keep your daily quests under 3, you can re-roll 1 daily quest per day to increase the chance of getting this quest but you will easily get it before you've got all the other trophies.
Popular Post Samasyxx
#59 - Diablo 3 reaper of souls Fun game which I hadn't played since 2016ish. It becomes a bit of a grind for the last few trophies like getting 6 characters to lv70 or 500 bounties but overall I enjoyed going for this one. The trophy list isn't too difficult even with hardcore trophies.

I have never played any Soulsborne game, and that's probably why I enjoyed this game so much. You need patience and dedication and the platinum is almost guaranteed!!
