Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #110 Killzone HD Difficulty: 3/10 Playtime: 32 hours Enjoyment: 8/10 Remember when they released a ton of HD remaster collections for the PS3? Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, just to name a few. This game was also one of them, something which many people probably didn't expect. I remember reading the review of it and said it was bad, but was that really the case? I'll cover it in a moment, but first, an introduction. Originally released in 2004, I still remember that day when I first bought it. I should mention that it was the first FPS game I played and I really don't play them too much. I don't know what got me buying it, but I guess it was the cover (shown below). Still, I don't regret it one bit. So, what can I say about the game? I might as well list all the pros and cons. Spoiler Pros: - 4 four playable characters. Unlike the other games in the series (don't know if Liberation has this feature), this one lets you choose from 4 different characters. After you've progressed far enough, that is. Templar is your regular guy. Luger can stealth kill enemies, crawl through tight spaces and climb on ropes. Rico is basically the Hulk. Not only is he equipped with a chain gun, but he can take a ton of damage before he dies. With these factors, you can pretty much speedrun the game as him. However, he can't climb the ladders. Finally, there's Hakha. Being a half-Helghast, he can pass through laser trip mines which other characters can't do. He can also hack sentry bots in certain parts of the game which can be more or less useful. - Alternate routes. Depending who you're playing as, you'll have to take different routes which brings some variety. I honestly think it was a good idea. The prime example is the level before the final battle. The team splits up, and tackles enemies with their own skills and style alone. - Dialogue. Some might find the dialogue in the series a little boring, annoying, etc., but that's one thing I've known the series from and I've always liked it. Once again, depending who you're controlling, there's alternate dialogue in certain parts of the game. I also have to mention that I like the Helghast's dialogue. The ones where they're talking to each other, not the battle quotes. Cons: - No music during gameplay. This has been bothering me ever since my first time playing this. It's a minor flaw, but thankfully, this was changed in later games. - Checkpoint system. I've already mentioned this a couple of times, so I'm not going to repeat myself too much. I'll say this, though. When compared to the other games, this game's checkpoint system feels unpolished. Some levels only have 1-2 checkpoints, while others don't have any of them. This means that whenever you die, it's back to start. Personally, this didn't happen to me too many times, but the final level on Chapter 5 as Luger was a major pain in the ass. It's only because those grenade launcher enemies at the end of the level. I died at least 2-3 times before I managed to pass it. - Ladders. F*** the ladders. Just f*** the ladders. The main reason I'm saying this is because most of the time when I try to descend them, I only end up climbing back after one second. - Storyline logic. The one thing that has left me scratching my head is why General Adams betrayed the ISA in the first place. At least he gets what he deserves in the end, but... I also have to wonder why Templar and Luger broke up from their relationship. Hakha does explain it to Rico, though in riddles. As for the game's platinum, it's the easiest in the series. You do have to clear the game on Hard, but as long as you don't rush too much, it's not too bad, even though the checkpoint system in this game is terrible. You also have a lot of kill-related trophies, something that you might expect from this series. However, unlike the other games, this time they're tied to most of the weapons this game has to offer. When you know what to do and where to use them, getting the trophies will be a peace of cake. And that's about it. Overall, it's a good game, even though it has flaws. I could give it a 7/10, but due to a nostalgic experience I have with this game, I'll give it 8/10. Even though I had to play the game four times, I ended up enjoying it. Seeing all the different paths as different characters was also fun, as I never did that on the PS2. Also, this was the last game in the series that I hadn't got the platinum. Actually, of all the games in the series, Killzone 2 is the only one I didn't get the platinum. I tried the multiplayer before the server closure, but having played Killzone 3 multiplayer before that, I honestly found it boring. Not to mention, there were a couple of times I got cheap shotted by pro players. Other than that, this is my personal favorite in the series. The story was dark, yet epic, the gameplay was improved a lot from the previous one and the theme tells it means serious business. As for the other games, I got the platinum from Killzone 3 years ago, but didn't get 100% on DLCs. It's not a major loss or anything, I'm fine with the platinum. For Mercenary, I'd like to play it, but because it's on Vita, I'll have to pass that as I'm not the biggest fan when it comes to playing shooters on a handheld console. Sorry about this. Finally, Liberation is something I planned to buy when PSP was a thing, but I never did. I'm planning to correct that someday. This is not the end, though. Since I'm still feeling a little nostalgic, I'm going to play Killzone 2 one more time, just to remember good times I had with that game. I'm not going to play on Elite, as that was pure hell. I might do better this time, but the purpose is to relax and take it easy, instead of becoming stressed and annoyed. With all that said, thanks for reading this and have a great day. For my next few projects, I have a couple of ideas, but I'll start with this. Spoiler Edited May 15, 2021 by MrGarland
Popular Post Anxiety
Kung Fu Panda 2: Difficulty: 1/10 Enjoyment: 4/10 - Not a very good game at all and laggy as all hell. It was so hard to play the game with the lag being so bad. Time: 10-15 Hours. Overall: Overall it’s a bit of a terrible game. I had to play the game twice because I was missing 4 gold and I looked everywhere and couldn’t find it so I used the guide from the start and ended up getting it finally. There is so many collectables 1800 collectables. 600 Gold, 600 Iron and 600 Steel. I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone but if you want an easy platinum I would recommend this game. Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends: PS3 and PS4. Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 - Amazing fighting game that’s exactly like Smash Bros. Stock Fighting King Of Kung Fu and Timed Only. Time: 50-60 Hours (PS4) 20-25 Hours (PS3) Overall: Overall this is a long ass grind of a game, doing 625 matches to get Master Panda and I thank so much for @kindajustinfor helping me so much with the online portion of the game. On the PS3 version I boosted with myself and became number one in the world on the leaderboard which I’m super happy about. The online portion is why the percentage is so low and I’m not sure why some of the trophies are like a 3% for doing a five minute trophy. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#543 - Subdivision Infinity DX This was kind of a cool speace sim, but felt quite lacking in the end. The biggest flaw is the travel speed. Normal flight is too slow, especially when having to farm materials. It takes forever to get around. Even the boost is a few seconds long and takes quite a while to charge. Looks pretty good, but feels empty (it being in space is a good excuse I guess). The combat was solid though. Popular Post Anxiety
Platinum #132Until Dawn: Until Dawn is about eight friends who go up to the mountains to visit there friend Josh for a yearly party after his two sisters went missing the year before. But, it turns out that there is a killer among the quests. Which turns out to be Josh himself. Is the murderer but doesn’t kill anyone he just wanted to scare people like they scared his sister, Hannah. He suffered a nervous break following the loss of his sisters causing him to suffer Psychosis and Schizophrenia and Depression. Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 - I’ve played this game before and loved every second of again. That’s why it’s a 10/10, amazing game. I recommend this game to everyone! Time: 10-15 hours. Overall: Overall it’s an amazing game with amazing kills, you have Josh playing as the murderer and the Wendigos in the game. I would recommend this game to everyone it’s an amazing game with amazing visuals. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Platinum #133 & 134 Difficulty: 1.5/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 - Amazing game with amazing visuals. If you play with headphones it has 3D Audio, so when you hear the voices they sound different from different angles. Time: 5-10 hours. Overall: Its an amazing game, the 3D audio does it absolute justice. The lorestones aren’t hard to get without a guide but I used a guide to get them. The fights were easy enough I think I died once or twice, the rot does something and can end your game pretty quick. Some of the puzzles are a bit confusing like the bridge near the end of the game but once you’ve done it once you can do it again.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#358 - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Platinum Unlock all trophies I'm glad I can finally say that I've played what is considered by many to be the last good Castlevania game. There's a lot to like about it. Probably the most enjoyable part for me was the story, even more so with those twists near the end. They really caught me off guard. ? I thought the voice acting was another standout for me, especially with Zobek who's voiced by none other than Patrick Stewart. The combat wasn't anything special, but it was enjoyable enough. It plays like the old God of War games, so if you like those, you'll enjoy this too. One thing I didn't really appreciate about the game was the abundance of puzzles, but that's just a personal preference. I'm not big into puzzles in general. The platforming was a bit iffy at times too which lead to some frustrating moments where I found fall of a ledge or not land where I intended to. The platinum was pretty straight-forward, mostly consisting of beating the game on the hardest difficulty and completing some level-specific tasks. None of them were all that challenging though. The most difficult part of the trophy hunt for me actually came in the final boss fight in the last DLC. On the hardest difficulty, he's a real bitch, and you can't cheese him with the OP moves like you can for most of the main game. I eventually beat him after like an hour though, so nothing too crazy. I'll be playing Lords of Shadow 2 at some point, even though I hear it doesn't come close to the quality of this game. I'm still interested to see where the story goes after that bombshell of an ending.

Popular Post Jermster_91
#73 The Walking Dead: The Final Season What can I say, the final season of the Walking Dead concluded everything and brought everything to a great end. With that said, it is a little different than other Telltale Games in the you need to redo some parts of a chapter to get another trophy that you might have missed if you just played it from start to finish. It is also a little more difficult with a 1.5 or 2 out of 10 with the finishing mini game being a tad challenging. Overall it was nice to finish the game and the story written by Telltale. 10/10

Popular Post Boomshanks
( 63) Worms Revolution Worm Winner Enjoyment: 3/10 (at first) 6/10 (later) Difficulty: 7/10 Another platinum that I never thought I would get is in the pocket. I downloaded the game because my nephew and niece were visiting and I wanted to have a fun co-op game that we could play. It… wasn’t a success. The game is not as easy to pick up as I thought it would be and it was just very boring. All of the excitement I felt when playing the earlier Worms games just wasn’t there. I can still remember the uncomfortable feeling of that day of us playing a game that no one really enjoyed. So awkward ?. But then the game was on my list, so I had to finish it… 8 years later. To start off, the game just looks awful. Worms games don’t need to be a graphical masterpiece but the earlier games at least had some fun and charm with the voices, weapons and levels. This game has none of that. It looks like a corporate, lifeless shell of the earlier games. The voices you can pick are all the same with a slightly different accent and the customization options are lackluster at best. And the “humor” in this game somehow just misses every… single… time… it just becomes painful. Apparently they had a funny celebrity do the voices but I have more fun watching paint dry than listening to his unenthusiastic “jokes”. And how can the framerate be this bad!? It’s a Worms game – not The Last of Us! They seem to have fixed it with a later patch and now it’s playable but in the beginning it was a mess. Looking at the trophies it seems to have taken me a year just to complete the tutorial. Then I had a period around 2015 where I wanted to clear some games off my backlog and I managed to complete the online portion of the game. The Social Butterfly trophy is a pain as it requires you to play with 20 other people online so you have to set up 20 individual meets and keep tabs of which players you’ve already played a match with since the player base isn’t that big. In the end it took me about 2 years of playing on and off to get all of the online trophies out of the way. Then there were only the puzzles and campaign levels. To be honest, I can’t remember much about the puzzles as I completed them back in 2017. That left me with only the campaign and the Mars DLC. And the campaign in this game is hard! You regularly play matches with four worms against a team of 10 enemy worms with about the same amount of health. Years back I got stuck on level 15 and I just couldn’t get past it no matter how many times I tried. Every now and then I would pick the game back up again to try and complete it but I never succeeded ⚰️. But for me, 2021 is the year in which I want to complete most of the PS3 games I have left, especially with the news of the PS Store shutting down (which thankfully won’t happen yet). I had lost my save file so I had to play through the entire game again but this was probably a good thing since I had to get reacquainted with all of the weapons and mechanics. And lo and behold, I actually got good at the game and completed level 15 on my first try . I finished most of the other levels within a few tries and started having some fun with the campaign. Even the Mars DLC levels, which you have to complete without losing a single worm and which seemed incredibly daunting in the beginning ended up being pretty doable. Level 21 is another big roadblock that a lot of people struggle with and I got stuck there for a time as well. But I find I have much more dedication now than I ever did before, and where years ago I would quit, this time I persisted and managed to complete not only the level but the entire campaign as well. So that’s another one of the PS3 backlog cleared and somehow another game in the pocket that I never thought I would be able to get. I love looking at my trophy list and seeing games that seemed unobtainable before now fully completed though Worms Revolution is not a game that I would recommend to anyone. Next time my nephew and niece will just have to entertain themselves .

Popular Post Viscera1900
#296 - DOOM Thy Flesh Consumed "Earn all Trophies" Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Platinum Completion time: 17 hours (in game) / 3 days, 5 hours The gameplay and soundtracks in this game are so fantastic! Trophy wise it's really straightforward list and somewhat easy to achieve a platinum trophy from this. The list have so many collectibles related trophies, but it also has very good in-game tracker for those collectibles. Most of its difficulty points comes from completing the very first mission on Ultra-Nighmare difficulty level which was indeed a nightmare for me. I'm glad that I finally gave this game a chance, since I've heard so many good things about this action-heavy FPS game. I'm looking forward to play its sequel: Doom: Eternal near future.
Nauticus87
#506 - Mahjong Adventure Only really posting because I was the first to get it (on the EU stack at least). Not too difficult but if you don't manage your power-ups efficiently you could end up seriously frustrated. Getting gold medals is tight (time power-up is your best friend), money is limited and power-ups used on failed levels are lost forever. And now back to Persona 5 Royal.

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #599: Difficulty: 2/10 Playtime: 20-30 hours Oh boy, that more than slightly disconcertingly self-aggrandizing storyteller David Cage is back with his big bag of "EEEHMÖSHUNNS"... but is he better than ever? Has he ascertained a newfound knack for making things better? Actually... yeah, pretty much. Detroit: Become Human represents some of Quantic Dream's strongest strides in capturing the potential of their idiosynchratic brand of interactive fiction. On the whole, they really comes across as a team that are learning from their past mistakes... growing, you might say. In the not too distant future, androids have successfully crossed the uncanny valley. (Well, at least they've achieved parity with Quantic Dream's highly polished--if flawed--human characters, anyway. Teeth don't look any less off than they did in Heavy Rain...) Thus did Man become the architect of his own demise... well, the demise of his sapient sovereignty, at any rate. It's up to you to shape the future of a downtrodden denomination of "secondary" citizens yearning to attain civil rights in a tale that is, unfortunately, as old as time. But that's just the greater scope of the story told. On a more intimate level, the nature of humanity and, umm, androidhood(?) is explored in a multitude of ways through QD's as yet most well-rounded trinity of protagonists, three androids of disparate backgrounds who have achieved, or are struggling with, "deviancy" (not that kind), a mysterious self-actualization process that allows them to fight their programming, and Become--for all intents and purposes--Human. Their arcs are all interesting in their unique way, but surely I say unto you dudes, the story of Connor (the android sent by CyberLife), a supercomputer-powered Sherlock Holmes on steroids and his sarcastic and android-antipathic Watson, is by leaps and bounds the greatest narrative thread QD has ever told; it alone justifies the price of admission. A genuinely heartwarming buddy cop story filled with murder, moral quandaries, and enough character development to power a small table fan for a full seven minutes, it may not be the most original story in the world... but by the makers, does it ever work! And if you don't believe me, you can count the amount of times it made me smile like a quokka on quaaludes! Cage's pervasive penchant for the kind of bland actiony mise-en-scene that made me disenchanted with Hollywood way back when, only makes this all the more miraculous an achievement. Some of the more ropey story decisions become less accentuated in the blinding light of this one superlative arc. Story aside... if you've played a QD game before, you'll know exactly what you're in for. Fortunately, their newfound restraint towards self-indulgent control gimmickry proves to work in their favour as far as immersion is concerned. No tricky diaper-changing or unreliable driving input here, and it's all the better for it. Concordantly, the Hunt becomes a pleasant one that rarely gets in the way of game enjoyment... I still could have done without a more or less mandatory "evil" playthrough, though. Doing that stuff just makes me genuinely feel bad, man. I couldn't even bring myself to kill off a character even when doing so would have saved me plenty of replay time... heh, just goes to show you where my sympathies would lie if ever we wind up in a situation like this for real, huh? ? QD has a well-earned reputation for making the most of the hardware at hand (if anyone had told me this game has enough breathtakingly rendered rain and snow to fill an Olympic swimming pool, I would have been on this way sooner ?), but I'm very happy to say there is a lot of substance to go along with the style this time. A borderline eradication of the more exploitative foibles of their past work (no cringeworthy QTE foreplay today!) definitely gives off a vibe of maturity and personal growth for the Quantic team. I'm genuinely excited to see what's next for them... even if I'll inevitably be heartbroken when it doesn't turn out to be the LA Noire-ish open world Connor/Hank buddy cop crime game we all want ? Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#466 - Far Cry 4 15,000th trophy milestone I absolutely loved this game and I adore this entire franchise for that matter. I'd heard before playing of how Far Cry 4 is too similar to Far Cry 3 and that Pagan Min is a poor man's Vaas Montenegro but in my opinion this game stands on it's own two feet alongside the the third game. I liked them both equally. Pagan Min (played by voice acting chameleon Troy Baker) was a memorable villain right from his opening monologue where he greets main character Ajay Ghale who has returned to Kyrat to scatter his mother's ashes. My only complaint was that we don't see anywhere near enough of him and he gets even less screen time than Vaas did in Far Cry 3. Other focal points of the story character-wise are Amita and Sabal who are competing for control of The Golden Path, a rebel faction seeking to rid Kyrat of Pagan Min and his Royal Army. The younger Amita favours revolution whereas the more traditional valued Sabal wants to return Kyrat to it's old ways before the reign of King Min. Naturally you are forced to side with one or the other as the difference in their respective approach are drastic. As far as gameplay goes, it's typical Far Cry/Ubisoft fare with a massive and varied open world to explore, outposts to liberate, side quests to complete and collectibles to grab. I loved the setting of the game and it felt very detailed. Unlike most open world games, the location actually felt lived-in and Kyrat looked like it was crumbling in places which is what you'd expect from an isolated nation living under a dictatorship. I will be moving onto Far Cry 5 at some point but I'm saving that for my 500th platinum milestone so it won't be for a little while yet ? Popular Post Hayke7
- #52 AI: The Somnium Files A very easy platinum to get but also an enjoyable one as most of the work towards it just comes naturally as you play the game. "One Percenter" Rarity: 33.04% (Guess its a little bit off) Days Gone: Villainized by journos for not being oscar bait, praised and defended by gamers to no end; the reality, however, is definitelly in between: It is by no means a bad game, but it is by no means a smooth experience neither. To critics and most gamers nowadays everything has to either be a brave and stunning "masterpiece" or the worst piece of shit in existence, there are apparently no in betweens, and that's beyond ridiculous. The game has a lot of issues, some might be just nitpicks but others are actual problems that hurt the overall experience. This is the new Sony IP that really needed a sequel in order to iron all of it's wrinkles but in true Sony fashion, we instead get nothing (for those that don't know, the sequel has been cancelled). Not to mention the game also has a sequel bait secret ending... One thing that really put me off was the main character: Deacon, in order for him to be more accessible (I assume), was turned into a diluted / nerfed version of a biker. If you're looking for a badass, dirty, foul mouthed violent biker like you'd expect Deacon would be after losing everything and during the end of the fucking world, then stop looking, you won't find one. Instead he comes off as whiny and soft. "Politically correct biker" is an actual quote from the game, lol. The way he treats O'brian through the whole thing is also something I greatly dislike. I really enjoyed the game despite all of its issues, it's a ton of fun in the end. Trophy wise the platinum is very easy like most modern Sony exclusives. Nothing to worry about. The 100%, however, it's another story. Game Rating: 7/10 Platinum Difficulty: 3/10 Time to platinum: 50 hours Also did the Survival and New Game+ DLCs, both are very doable, even the hardest difficulty (Survivor II) is very manageable, with only a couple roadblocks that will have you cursing. HOWEVER, time is going to be your enemy here, even by skipping all the things that can be skipped, you're still looking for almost 20 hours of extra gameplay. In the end I was exhausted so I decided to ignore the final DLC (the infamous challenges), since according to guides it will take 20-30 hours and that's a HELL NO. (Maybe much, much later) Sadly, there's nothing to unlock in Survival / NG+ modes other than a crappy weapon that I only used to get the trophy related to it and quickly stored afterwards. Survival and NG+ DLCs Rating: 5/10 Survival and NG+ DLCs Difficulty: 5/10 Time to complete Survival and NG+ DLCs: 16-20 hours (skill dependant, they stack) "Promise to ride me as much as you ride your bike" - Sarah To be fair critics (plural) weren't hard on the game. The controversy is from IGN's review of a 6.5 out of 10. I thought along the same lines as you: good game, enjoyed my time with it but has some issues to fix. And basically the IGN reviewer said the same. She mentioned "bloated" and "messy" in her critiques but also mentioned action and exciting moments. But because she is a woman, and a gay woman, it got twisted that she hated the game due to an anti-male sentiment. I would have liked a sequel, but am also keen to see them perfect the style in the new IP. It's a shame Bend isn't in a position to be a 'two franchise developer' like Naughty Dog and Insomniac get to be.

10/10 I completed the final season in the definitive edition and I was confused when you said you had to redo some parts. I looked at the roadmap and saw trophies tied to choices that cancel each other out. Sounds annoying. In the DE you just get chapter trophies regardless of your choices or collectibles.
