Achieve Ultimate on a Taskmaster Challenge

 

I've spent like 1.5-2 hours doing the same drone race over and over and over again until I got ultimate. And I have to be honest, I've done some grindy things in games, but this was an absolute nightmare.

I am happy with the trophy though, I am really glad that I've added it to my collection.

The story in this game appears, to me at least, to be one of the more underrated aspects to it. Chapter 7's story was SO DAMN GOOD. I loved it a lot.

 

Either way I'm approaching the end unfortunately. I really don't intend on getting the Platinum for this game (even though I probably could if I chose too but I just don't like playing in post-game sorry) I'm hoping to get some gold and silver trophies before I beat that game and if I can do so that'll be satisfactory enough for me lol

I was going through my list of 260+ Playstation games I digitally have and remembered I had this among them, got this when it was free for a while on PSN. I thought this might be an easy platinum but oh boy am I not ready for the S ranks!

I quickly realized there was no way I was going to get good enough to do this myself or with randoms unless I made this game my religion and I don't have time for that so I asked for help in one of the Uncharted PSN communities dedicated to Survival mode.

I did reach max level and grinded for weapon upgrades long before asking for help so I wasn't dead weight.

 

Two experienced players contacted me and got me 3 stars on all 10 stages in only a couple of hours! They made it look so easy. They also said that they had been helping people for quite a while, one for almost 2 years and another for over a year and that they plan to keep on doing so for as long as they wanted to.

 

Much respect to players like that.

I first played SOMA on PC back in 2016 and oh boy it completely blew me away.

This game is one hell of a ride with deep philosophical ideas that really make you stop and think.

The detailed world coupled with a jaw dropping story and amazing sound design makes for an incredibly atmospheric and immersive experience you'll never forget.

This game is one of the most profound experiences I've had in gaming and I just couldn't help but explore every nook and cranny to find out more, something I very rarely do.

 

So yeah needless to say I wanted to have this trophy as a milestone, and also use it as an excuse to come on here and gush about it CX

Another game in my backlog with a few online trophies, Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds Overdrive. It's a pixelated 2D beat em up in the vein of Scott Pilgrim, River City Girls, Fight n Rage, etc and it's a ton of fun.

I bought the LRG release of this game so it has both the Kurisu and Frau DLC on disc. Sadly, this game does not have a plat. It certainly deserves one.

 

The trophies that will be a grind are the ones for getting a character to max level since the max is 99, but otherwise the list is pretty simple.

 

There are a handful of online trophies for completing a stage in coop (plus additional trophies for completing a stage in online coop as Kurisu and Frau) as well as finishing a match in the competitive Scavenger mode (with one more trophy for using Kurisu in that game mode). Using Kurisu from the start for both these modes will get you all four.

 

If someone reading this happens to also have the game and want to boost the online trophies, I posted a session.
