PSNP Community Top Chosen PS1/PSX Games - Nominations

Hey forum community!

 

It's time to make another community list, this time for the best/ favourite Playstation 1 games. If you have participated one of the previous two lists then you know the drill. If not, I'm trying to assemble a definitive list of top games for the PS1 with the help of the you, the community.

 

Doesn't matter if the game is available on PSN, as long as it is a PS1 game.

 

Each member can nominate up to 10 games, these games are separated into 3 tiers:

       for #1-3

       for #4-6

       for #7-10

 

 is worth 3pts,    is worth 2 pts and     is worth 1 pt. After the nomination period is over, I'll create the final list based on the cumulative score received for games.

 

Games you can't nominate for: 

 

Any games that were re-released for the PS1 from a previous generation console, such as Final Fantasy IV or Chrono Trigger which were originally on the SNES.

There will be no post requirements. However your forum account must be at least 3 months old.

Thats a very hard choice to nominate only 10 from that huge library of many awesome games PS1 had but here is my list

4 - Rayman 2: The Great Escape

5 - Tomb Raider II

6 - Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer

7 - Crash Bandicoot

8 - Crash Bandicoot 3

9 - Crash Bandicoot 2

10 - Prism Land

 

I struggled choosing a number 10, because although I loved the PS1, I truly don't remember much of my time playing it. I do, however, have recollections of playing Prism Land and Jigsaw Madness a lot, and of the two, Prism Land was the more memorable so I'm going to assume it's the better one.

Wow, it is really hard to only choose 10 games. The rest of the Crash games would've been on my list but I thought I should keep it to one entry from a series to have a more varied list. CTR is different enough to add though.

It's RE, not RE2, just because I remember how fascinated I was by playing something that felt like a genuine horror movie for the very first time. RE2 is also a big favorite of mine.

 

And it's PE2, not PE, because PE wasn't released in Europe, so I didn't get round to playing it until much later - plus I like the game mechanics of PE2 better.

 

 

Edit: It's really hard to pick a representative for a great series (Crash, Oddworld, Spyro; RE, PE), but I decided to choose Spyro 2 over Spyro 1.
