Popular Post Spider5786
Update I am Setsuna Playtime - 5 hours Trophies - 6 of 49 (9%) Played a couple of hours of this tonight and I am really starting to enjoy it, the FF10 similarities continue with a character that reminds me of Aurun. The battle system is getting better as the game goes on with the ability to use momentum to gain singularities which grant special abilities as well as spritnites which enable you to use magic, at the start the game had to many battles in which all have to do is to attack with two players and use Setsuna to heal.
Popular Post JoaoQuique
Game Nº 1 [F1 2015] - Last Report First Report: Click here. Talking about thing I've not reported on my first report, I just can say about 25% length races and Pro mode. If a race is set as 25% length or more (there are options to 50% and 100% length), you must use at least two kinds of tires, if it does not rain (it's a rule of F1 that's being used even today). You can feel some differences from a new set of tires if compared to a well-used set, however I did not feel a considerable difference between Primary set and Option set (on F1, considering 2015 rules, these two kinds of dry tires were called "Primary" and "Option", where the Option set is faster than Primary set). About Pro mode, it is a true challenge which can keeps out Platinum hunters who did not like som much racing games - on this mode, you run complete sessions (three Practice sessions, plus Qualifying setted on three sections and a race with 100% length), versus IA on max difficulty, in a car without any assists and HUD information and forced on the cockpit view. Trophy wise, it can be quite doable if you practise (I still don't know if "a bit" or "a lot"...), but if you are not into simulation racing games, give up of this Platinum... (in may case, even running on a Mercedes - best car of the game - and being good enough to do not spin out even just once, I was about 3 seconds lower than P19, and a trophy requires qualifying on TOP 16 five times...). At least, on this mode I could finally enjoy some driving on cockpit view (personally I prefer the "farway camera", but the cockpit view is incredible). Playtime: About 2 hours (7 hours overall) Trophies obtained: 24 from 46 (Completion at 59% - Rank A) Personal Completion: from 71,94% to 71,91% Final Ratings: Graphics: A- - these graphics are well impressive, on both clear weather and rain, this game is well colorful (in a good way) and the framerate is consistent. The cockpit view is so impressive that the rearview mirrors can actually be used! However, some minor detais could be better (like smoke from tires when you lock brakes); Sound: A- - considering that racing games usually don't count with background music, sound content is quite good - you can barely find some differences on every motor sound from all cars, and enjoy noises from brake locking and even the raining... However, the noise from "shaving" on the wall is quite weird... Gameplay: A - for people addicted to racing games, this game is quite fun - it can be easy for poeple who wants just drive a while, and can be quite challenging for people who wants to challenge theirselves on Pro mode. Replay Factor: B - this game is quite fun, as I've said, however the lack of a Career mode can make lose some motivation to return to this game... Trophy-wise: C+ - majority of trophies are straight-forward, however there are some stupid grinds (like plenty of Time Trial laps on given circuits/cars ou plenty of laps on Quick races), and there's a trophy, related to Pro mode, which can keep out Platinum hunters who are not into racing games. Popular Post JoaoQuique
Game Nº 2 - Tour de France 2014 What's about? As its title suggests, it's the official Tour de France game, featuring the 101st edition of this classic event (road bycicle racing). This game was developed by Cyanide Studio (Styx, Blood Bowl, Call of Cthulhu) and published by Focus Home Interactive (Farming Simulator, Sherlock Holmes' series, non-Telltale Game of Thrones) My expectations: The only cycling game I've played so far is Tour de France 2013 - it was a relatively easy Platinum, and I was moved by curiosity about how a cycling game was. Since I'd liked to play that game, I was interested about playing a following version (even cosidering that this version is considerably harder than 2013). It's OK if I will not be able to Platinum this game after all, but I hope some fun. My gaming plan: I will complete some stages without bother myself with long-term trophies (like trophies based in final standings and Tour de France Mode's advancement stars). I will not try any "efficient trophy roadmap" on my first day. Trivia: a thing that I've discovered now - apparently, Tour de France 201X is a part of the PC game Pro Cycling Manager 201X. Actually, I don't know what content Pro Cycling has overall, but it's interesting how Pro Cycling's cover image and Tour de France's cover image is basically the same... (check here) Which grade do I think I will give to this game? I think it will be (scoring from "hidden" to "platinum"), but I hope for a . Popular Post Myu
Day 3 - Final Fantasy VII Time played : about 13 hours Trophies obtained : 15/32 Completion % : 28 Rank : C I progressed smoothly for the last two days and I'm still enjoying the game very much. My biggest fear was that the opinions of my 11-year-old self and my current self would diverge along the way as it did for Tales of Symphonia but it was not the case. I'm probably somewhere on CD2, right before the Underground Reactor. What I liked - the nostalgia - the music - the funny dialogues - Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine, all-time favs of mine - a great story with the right amount of side quests What I disliked - I still don't understand how to participate in Chocobo races. The story-related trophy didn't pop and I have to win another race, which I don't look forward to. - I got lost very easily when I got access to the Tiny Bronco (you know, that damaged plane that can still float and be used as a boat). Motion sickness kicked in as I was trying to find a way to get back to the first continent. That was not fun. - I'm still bumping into random elements and getting stuck here and there, espcially in closed spaces. - While I was exploring, all my materia was stolen by a certain someone and I had to go kick some ass to get it back. Boss fights without powerful materia is HARD. Tomorrow, I'll start Steins'Gate 0 on Vita. I hope it's as good as its predecessor.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #2 A bit early, but I want to focus on playing the game tomorrow after I get home from work, therefor I'll post my expectation already. The last motorcycle racing game I played was Moto GP 13, which I started started in one of these events as well. Since I really enjoyed that one I bought Moto GP 14 shortly after, which felt like a step backwards in every way. Now I'm hoping this one will be more enjoyable again. What I'd like to see is more variations, especially when it comes to track and bikes. More of both would be great. Another thing that would be great, would be the AI not being a bunch of bastards, as in not driving into you making you crash in the process.
Popular Post ItsMeMartyy
Game #2 - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Remastered Day 2&3/31 Time Played: 14 Hours Initial Thoughts ( At about 1-2 hours in) : I said Uncharted 1 felt like National Treasure. When I started playing this it felt more like Mission Impossible meets Indiana Jones. I keep comparing these games to movies but the whole experience is very cinematic. Graphics: Being a remaster you can still see some forms of outdated textures and weird graphical glitches, but those are few and far between. The animations are smooth, especially the facial animations if they were even close to as good as they are in the remaster in the original I bet they were far ahead of their time. The worlds are much more diverse and colorful than the first game and this gives this game an edge on the first in that aspect. Overall, the graphics are a slight upgrade from Drakes Fortune but still obviously a remaster of an older game. Sound: The sound in this game is even better than the first. The general variety of locations and scenery can help the sound a lot because the soundtracks and environmental sounds can be just as varied. Naughty Dog knows how to put great sound in games and the voice acting is insanely well done. The guns sound like they should generally but a few of the guns sound pretty weird, that being said I'm not an expert on gun sounds some just seem to be a lot more 'detailed' if that makes sense. The only sounds I didn't like were the vehicles, not sure if it was sound glitches or something but the vehicles sounded strange. Gameplay: One of my problems with Uncharted 1 was that the controls were a bit finicky, however, in this game everything is a lot more smooth and responsive - Including he wall running and movement in general. They never did anything much to reinvent the wheel in terms of guns and hand-to-hand combat but what is new works well within the gameplay environment. The puzzles in this game are much longer and I feel drawn out over the first leading to a massive amount of downtime if you don't look up a guide (which I didn't), this in my opinion hinders the gameplay a little bit (in my opinion) but the puzzles are much more rewarding than before and I think being an Action Adventure title is fair. Overall, this is definitely a fair #2 in the series, everything is bigger and more badass than the original. Fun Factor: Being that the controls are more responsive, the worlds are more alive, and the A.I is arguably smarter the game, if you liked the first you'll like this one just as much or more. For me it was as fun even though it was a better game, but keep in mind I have been playing the games back to back so I am subjectively biased due to slight burnout. Closing Thoughts ( After Getting ) : Takes the same great formula from the original title and made it even better. This is how a sequel should be done - bigger and better. Popular Post Lars
Game #1: Far Cry: Primal I've played this game like any game i play. Do a session of 30-45 minutes. Drop out for a couple of matches Rocket League, stick too long with Rocket League. Then i go grab a drink. Browse through facebook and that is another 2 hours done. Same with this one. That is why i got only 8,5 hours on my profile right now despite having 2 completely free days with nothing to do from the moment i got out of bed until the moment i went back in bed, usually from 8:30 in the morning until 12:00. But those 8 hours gave me a good impression of the game. I'm really enjoying it. The only thing that still annoys me is the native language. For the rest everything is fun, although i still remain by my opinion that my weapon choice is too limited. The gameplay is loads of fun, the animals are great to tame although until this point i only tamed a wolf and a lion. They are really powerful and way too easy to revive so they become a sort of overpowered toy. Especially my lion kills people like they're not there. The world is amazing, just wilderness everywhere. In the other Far Cry's i wanted to enjoy the world but there was always that road with cars and guns in it that ruined that. Here that isn't there and most places are really dense with trees, plants and inbetween animals which makes hunting actually a challenge. But with the grappling hooks, the combat style with stealth and action mixed, the scenery and the constant action it starts to feel like Far Cry again. And because i loved them this will definetely be a game that i will complete and plat in the future. Maybe during the event because this is a nice game to get back to once in a while. And because the story isn't that interesting it is easy to pick it up after a long pause. If you enjoyed the other titles in the series you'll enjoy this one. If the gunplay was more your thing then the stealth there are other titles that you maybe enjoy more because this doesn't have that. But that makes it more fun because capturing a outpost is more tactical imo. Next up for me is Shadwen. A stealth game, that is the only thing i know about it so i go in with no expectations. I hope i'll enjoy that one just like i did this. Wednesday i won't play it because that day i've planned for racing games, have to drive with my steering wheel once because that has just been collecting dust for the last month Edited July 3, 2017 by Lars
Lars
23 hours ago, FFHannibal said: Game #2 - Escape Dead Island Trophies: 34 of 61 (53%)Completion: 47% -> 46.98%Playtime: 5 hours 40 minutes Well, game #2 and day 2 are done and already my prediction from yesterday rings true. It is indeed way harder to write a review each day (on time) and do a decent job than it is to play a new game each day. Escape Dead Island has been collecting dust on my shelf quite a while. Picked it up for 5€ in my local game store, installed it and downloaded the dlc, but after that I put it away with the thought that "I'd play it eventually". Well turns out I did and I regret not doing it sooner. At a nice 5 hours and 40 minutes I feel like I've covered a lot of ground in the game already. I got a whopping 34 trophies and completed a good part of the story (and I got my completion up, almost went over what I started with ). I am very happy I only spent 5€ on it though because I feel like it's a little bit too short to warrant more. Now, Escape Dead Island is a lighter, funnier version of the Dead Island games. It's in third person as opposed to first and has nice light cartoony graphics with the telltale CRUNCH, KABOOM and SPLAT pop-ups you'd expect. It makes for a very non-threatening game and for a not-horror-fan like I am this is an excellent scary-not-scary game. In the opening intro/tutorial you play as a ninja tasked with getting some data and hiding it. Something happens to you at the end of the intro and flashforward we go on a boat six months later. Now you're Cliff, a cool rich kid desperately seeking his father's approval. Obviously finding no better solution to do that than by stealing his father's boat, dragging two friends (Devan and Linda) along to an island near Banoi to snatch a story to launch Linda's media career. There are zombies on the island of course and there's the usual conspiracy story going on (I think). A bit different though is how Cliff seems to keep hallucinating all kinds of shit which makes for a pretty interesting tale. Anyway, I think I completed 7 out of 11 missions already. I got quite a few upgrades and somewhere in there I also accidentally completed the Underwater Labs (free!) DLC, so the game isn't going to be very long I think. For the better probably because I'll need another playthrough (NG+) to get the plat. There are quite a few collectibles as well, but they're quite fun to get. I initially put this game right after LiS because I thought they couldn't be more different, was I duped when the first thing the game had me do when I arrived on the island was take a damn picture . The snapshot collectibles are quite unique though. I did play blind, so I'll be picking up the rest of the collectibles in an NG+ playthrough because I intend to finish the game blind once as well. I enjoyed this game a lot which you can probably tell and I will most certainly come back to it. Two things that bother me a lot about this game are the low, low health Cliff has (which has me worried for NG+) and how damn slow the respawn animation goes. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE 10 FREAKING SECONDS TO STAND UP CLIFF! Likelihood of me going back and getting the platinum: 95% At the moment i liked it for a little, looking back at this game though i can't believe i finished it twice. Especially after playing the other titles in the series it just felt a bit boring and way too lineair. For me combat felt a bit clunky and the story wasn't that great. I don't remember a lot about the voice acting but the graphics aren't that good either imo. What i really had against it even at the time of playing was that the game used a lot of the locations twice or more. What it does great though is play with your mind because you question a lot of times which scenes are real and which ones are imagination of the character. But glad to see you liked it, one tip. Try to do the dlc as quick as possible. Because the assault rifle is really overpowered and makes the game a lot easier. Although the enemies in there (dwellers i believe) are really strong and probably the toughest in the game
Popular Post Jaguargenie
@DamagingRob just saw u r messages. Sorry. So I was tinkering with the format a bit for my games and I am limiting myself to 3 hours before moving on to the next game on my list. I did not expect to have two nights in a row that I was able to get gaming in, so I am on game 3 tonight and it is July 3. I will post my reviews of game 1 now, and game 2 later tonight. I'll try and get initial impressions of game 3 asap. This trend won't continue though as tomorrow is July 4 in the US. After that, 1 more day of gaming or so before I leave for cancun. Review Game 1 Resogun After spending three hours with Resogun, I'm officially overwhelmed. It isn't a bad thing. There's so much destruction on the screen at any one time things get a bit confusing. But let me back up and give you a brief synopsis for anyone who doesn't know Resogun. It was originally designed as a PlayStation 4 launch title that was supposed to showcase the technological capabilities of the system. Housemarque designed a shooter in the van of Super Stardust that features different spaceships blowing up aliens while flying around a circular City from side-scroller perspective. The thing is when anything explodes it erupts in a shower of pixels. There can be literally hundreds of broken pixels and ships and bullets and lasers on the scream at screen at once it's an exercise in concentration just to keep alive! If you have ever played at housemarque game before you know what you can expect: a highly-polished, incredibly precise, very addictive, twin-stick shooter. That happens to be quite hard. I really suck at it and die a lot but I still love it. It is beautiful and frantic. I've already talked about how the screen fills up but it bears repeating. I haven't had any screen tearing, chugging or skips no matter how much is going on at any one time. For the sheer volume that is super impressive. This will be a game that takes hours and hours to get good enough to master, but is never unfair. You have plenty of tools at your disposal to get through it. Bombs that destroy everything on the screen, a boost that makes you invincible for a short time, and a super laser the blasts through everything in its path. Those tools, plus you're Twitchy reactions can keep you alive. I can't recommend this highly enough. It is tough and brutal and unforgiving and amazingly well-balanced. The trophy list is killer but it's well worth it. Personal grade: A Trophy grade: 13/65 ; 14 % ; D Completion %: 74.35 (-.93)

It won't be the same without you.. In fact, we may as well shut this down now. No need to keep going, right? My Our completions have suffered enough. Final Review: Star Wars Battlefront Hey, there. Don't mind me. I'm just over here dying everywhere. ;w; K/D ratio has dropped to 0.59, as I struggle to stay alive. :/ I imagine this trophy list is going to be a nightmare, too. When you come into a game like this late, that's usually the case.. Like, for instance, I've been trying to get a Millennium Falcon kill for a trophy, and almost had it. When a teammate flew in and got the final shot. Something similar happened with the one for destroying an AT-AT with a tow cable. Match must have ended, or my team destroyed it just before I finished the QTE. Ugh.. But the game is still a lot of fun to play. So many different game modes to choose from, too. So I've only had a chance to play a lot of them a single time. -There's Fighter Squadron, where you take to the skies, and try to shoot down enemy pilots. Each side has a couple of different ships to choose from, and then you can become special ones(like the Millennium Falcon) if you find the pickup on the map. -Supremacy, where you try to take over specific points on the map. -Cargo, which is like Capture the Flag. You grab the other team's cargo, and try to return it to your base. -Droid Run, where you try to capture and hold onto droids. -Walker Assault, where you either try to destroy the Rebel's escape ships, or try to stop the assault. It's mostly ground-based combat, unless you find a powerup that lets you take to the skies. -Blast, which is basically Team Deathmatch. Kill the other team's players to win. -Drop Zone, which is somewhat similar to Supremacy. You take over escape pods, though, which drop one at a time, and in random locations. -Heroes vs. Villains, where 3 members of each team are chosen randomly to play as characters like Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, etc. While the others are standard Rebels and Clone Troopers. Killing the 3 heroes or villains on one team signals victory. -Hero Hunt, which makes one person a Hero, while everyone else tries to kill them. This is, I think, the only game mode that isn't team based. Everyone is pretty much on their own. And the next Hero is chosen, based on whoever has done the most damage when the current one is killed. Whoever gets the most kills is the winner. Makes it pretty difficult to win, since you can only become a Hero if you're good. And then you have to be good as a Hero, to rack up the kills. -And finally Extraction, which seemed pretty similar to Supremacy. Only played it once, so I'm not really sure what the difference is. If you like multiplayer games and Star Wars, I don't think you can go wrong with this one. Lot of stuff to do, so it should keep you busy for awhile. Each match, you're given a partner, too. You can choose to use their loadout, which means you can get access to high-level equipment before you're able to even buy it. Of course, it will only be for that one match. But still.. pretty good way to even the playing field. At this point in time, I think I will give this a . It's fun, but it does get a little boring. Especially if you play the same mode a bunch of times in a row, while trying to get certain trophies or challenges.. But as a Star Wars fan, I'm happy with my purchase, and will likely continue to play it. Time played: 6 and a half hours, according to my ingame stats. Feels like it has to be more than that, though.. Trophy progress: 16/64 for 16% and a C rank. Did it lower my completion? Yes. 52 minutes ago, Jaguargenie said: just saw u r messages. Sorry. Popular Post Kevvik
Game #1: Ratchet and Clank (PS4) Day 3 Impressions Time played: ~14 hrs Solid gameplay overall. The weapons are just as fun from start to finish with some solid bosses worth the challenge, including some new bosses not in the original game. Thumbs up to my favourite weapons, Mr Zurkon and the Sheepinator. I finished the main game and am now going through Challenge mode to up my weapons to max and get the remaining trophies (always hated the hoverboard time trophies though, I'll get them eventually). The holocards collectables give you bonuses on getting more holocards, more raritanium (for upgrades, though getting kills with the weapons will level them up) and open access to the Omega versions of the weapons (needed to go to lvl 10 vice 5). The voice acting stayed solid from start to finish. I think I figured out what seemed off to me. Having seen the film that was released in conjunction to this reboot, the cut scenes in the film have that cut from the movie feel rather than scenes which flow smoothly to/from gameplay that comes from being made for the game rather than another media, sort of like a "based on the movie" game, if that makes sense. The movie was OK, not really bringing over the charm of the characters from the original game over as well and this has carried over to this version. Will I plat this game? Yes. Trophies earned: 35/47 for 65%, C rank Overall score : 7.5/10 A well done and fun game but if I want to revisit the start of the series again, I'll play the original story on PS3 (or PS2). Popular Post Mesopithecus
Game #1 Day 3. MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death Slow progress again today and I feel that will be the case in the long term whilst I play this game. One major thing I'd say of note is there is seemingly large difficulty spikes between each area, which forces you to spend time leveling up and upgrading your robots. I managed to finish chapter 4 though today and clear the White Tower, the dungeon floors in this area were really large and particularly confusing. I tried to start on Chapter 5 and the Central Temple but my party is being wiped out by regular enemies so think it might be level up grind time again. Overall, this is a pretty fun game but I can understand why the rarity is pretty low with the copious amount of grinding. That's not going to deter me though and I will be happily pursuing the platinum once this event is over. Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #1: Horizon: Zero Dawn (Day 3) There's not much more to tell about this game without repeating myselfe. I did another kind of quest, where you have to go in some kind of factory and reach the end. These factories are a combination of parcour and fighting. At the end I had to fight a "boss" to override the factory to get imformation on how to override new types of machines. You can craft your arrows with material you find in the wild and from defeated machines. So far I always have enought material to have plenty of arrows so that's a good thing. It would be bad to run out of arrows in the middle of a fight and not being able to craft new ones. Beneath arrows you can also craft ammunation for your other weapons and potions. Like in Far Cry you can also craft bags to carry more of a specific kind of thing, like ammunation, material or potions. For those bags you need to hunt animals like foxes, turkeys or fish to gather there hide or meat. This part pretty much feels like Far Cry or Assassin's Creed 3. Another good thing is that every machine type feels different. Each machine has weak points you can hit to deal more damage, each machine uses other attacks, which you can disable by breaking the parts they need to use them. I give this game a solid rating (from a rating ranging from to ) I played over 10 hours of this game, which I normaly don't do even at weekends. I always thought: "I only go to this point to do that before stopping to play" And than another 30 minutes are over. I see now why this game got such good critics. Unfortunately I have to move on to the next game already ? Time played: Over 10h Trophies: 17/56 Next up is Tiny Troopers
Popular Post Jaguargenie
Game 2 Mad Max Initial Impressions I'm going to do this one a little bit differently. Even though I've played this for over 4 hours I still barely have an impression of it. This game is enormous. What is it though? Imagine the combat of Batman, mix in some car combat a la Twisted Metal, throw in the bagillion collectibles like anything Ubisoft and there u have it. Let me get my 3 minor gripes out of the way first. - The targeting during car combat tends to auto aim at the closet car, not the one you are aiming the camera at. - Max counters slow. Like 'can't break a combo' slow. Im getting betterat timing them, but his ability to counter isn't anything like Batman or Mordor, which hurts the combat flow. - I hate the color palette, or lack thereof. I get it takes place in a wasteland, but everything is tan or gray. Everything. Ok, so far the goods. Combat is fun despite Max not being batman. You have to get used to his limitations. The car combat is fun and gets better the more souped up the car is. There is sooooo much to do. The map is huge and I'm at 9% completion after 4 hours. So the size of this thing means I will come back to it later this month and give a more comprehensive review. Thanks and enjoying everyone's reviews so far! Steve the Ridepod is probably the most broken mechanic in the game. Its ranged weapons will outclass anything Max and Monica(who joins after we defeat the first major boss) has and its melee weapons put Monica's swordplay to shame. Of course, you have to invent all of these fancy hardware and I won't have that luxury until halfway through the game and several chapters later. (There are seven major story chapters and I'm just in the first.) But right now Steve's defense is already 1.5 times better than Max's(and that was after Max ate his favorite potato pie which was in a chest outside of Cedric's shop. Yes, that's pretty much how I got it) and once I get three more defense upgrades, that defense will jump to 3x! Once I defeat the first boss and get a cutscene in the second dungeon to get several points for Max's weapon, I will start work on building up weapons... but Steve will be doing the legwork. Yes, you only get half the ABS points for your weapons because they're split amongst both the main hand and off hand weapons, so that will mean a bit more grinding, but it's worth it. Popular Post dmland12
Game #1: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Game Progress: 19/68 Trophies (23%) Completion: 93.57% (-1.28%) This event starts off with a bang for me with Uncharted 4. Overall, I really enjoyed my time with this game. My completion percentage, however, didn't far as well. I'll need to do better than on other games if I'm looking to lose no more than 8% during the month. I've played the first three games and really liked them, so the bar was set rather high. I'm somewhere in the middle of the story (13 chapters completed out of 22), but so far it has managed to meet my expectations and then some. I felt the story started off a bit slow and disjointed for the first 5 chapters, but things have picked up rather well since. I'm looking forward to finishing the story and giving the other modes (multiplayer and survival) a look, but that will have to wait! Everything you'd expect in an Uncharted game is here (climbing, stuff breaking, puzzles, combat, escape scenes, fighting on moving vehicles, etc.). The game's also quite gorgeous, graphically. But, where this game greatly improves on it's predecessors in my opinion, is in adding some actual stealth gameplay. You can still shoot it out from cover or run-and-gun like before, but it now seems like you've got a lot more options on how you approach combat. This approach won't work for every encounter, and enemies don't lose track of you as easily as they do in a typical stealth game, but I've really enjoyed trying to be stealthy when it's possible. I'm going to try to add a video to spice up my reviews as I did for the last event. This one shows off some of the more stealthy parts of Uncharted 4's combat, although I did still get into a shoot out at the end. My Rating: A
Popular Post dizzyshadow
Game 1 - Crash Bandicoot Trilogy So game 1 (or rather games 1-3) the crash bandicoot trilogy, So let me start by saying didn't really get into consoles until later in the PS3 era, so i never played the original games, so whilst i was vaguely familiar with the character, my only experience of the games came from uncharted 4. I'd heard lots of positive things so was keen to try it out. The games are described as Platformers, although they are quite unusual in that most levels are designed vertically so you spend most of your time running towards or away from the camera, which takes some getting used to particularly running towards the camera where reaction times are much shorter. Other than that its fairly standard platforming jump over obstacles and gaps, jump over enemies or hit them with your attack. while collecting collectibles (boxes in this case). Levels are a mix of free exploration, on rails (usually riding a vehicle or creature), escape levels (being chased by something e.g. a boulder) & Boss fights. That does give The problem for me is that although visually they have done a good job, the games still feel old to me, the mechanics are very dated, limited number of lives, start from the beginning of the level if you lose all the lives, feels very frustrating to me who is used to a much more forgiving modern approach. There seems to be a slight improvement on that as you progress through the 3 games but not enough for me unfortunately. It may be different if you played the originals and have fond memories but for me there was just nothing drawing me back to the game, in fact I've taken advantage of the shortage and sold my game (for a small profit), I may consider buying again if the price drops significantly. Trophy Progress Crash Bandicoot 7/25 (play time 5 hours) Crash Bandicoot 2 - 2/25 (play time 2 hours) Crash Bandicoot warped - 2/25 (Play time 1 hour) Completion 50.1% (-0.54%) Next up - Micro Machines
Popular Post FFHannibal
Game #3 - CounterSpy Trophies: 6 of 14 (28%)Completion: 47% -> 46.96% (I cheated, I got 2 trophies in Gauntlet as well)Playtime: 1 hour 44 minutes And here it is: a playtime under 3 hours. Some IRL stuff just had to be done yesterday and I only managed 1 hour and 45 minutes of playtime. I might have been able to play a bit more, but I think I got the gist of the game anyway. At least good enough to be able to write a review. CounterSpy is a game set in the Cold War. It's a 2D stealth platformer, though they incorporate some depth in their 2D. Stealth is my thing, platforming a little less, but I really like this combination (makes me think that I really need to get AC Chronicles some time). You're playing as a spy trying to stop two world powers from launching a rocket to the moon. Why or how they're gonna do that isn't all that clear to me. As a spy you'll need to infiltrate in their bases and steal launch plans. Depending on which level you choose and how they're randomized you'll also be able to get Weapon blueprints, formulas and money. Because it's a stealth game you're supposed to not get spotted at all. If you do get spotted the defcon level of each world power will rise (or fall, it's how you look at it really). Anyway, if it hits 1 and you die you basically lose the game (you do get a continue though). I got through quite a few levels within approx. 2 hours and I unlocked a few weapons and formulas as well. I started over somewhere around the 1 hour 30 minute mark though, don't really remember why, but I was pleasantly surprised I kept all the unlocks. You do have to buy them again, but money isn't exactly hard to come by. There's also a fun 'multiplayer' mechanic. I think it takes people from your friend list that have played the game (I don't know though, because I didn't recognize the second player whose score I had to beat ) and makes you beat their score. This will happen eventually because the same score goes until you beat it. When that happens, they will be lying on the ground somewhere in the next level and you'll be able to loot them for quite a bit of money (and a trophy). Again this was a game I enjoyed a lot and will most certainly come back to. The shooting and stealth is very fun. The graphics really fit the theme, as does the soundtrack. It is 'only' a 100% game, but it's very worth it. Likelihood of me going back and getting the 100%: 90% Edited July 4, 2017 by FFHannibal
Popular Post JoaoQuique
Game Nº 2 [Tour de France 2014] - First Day Report It was really a long time I was not playing a cycling game... Thankfully this game presents you a "warm-up" section (it works as an Tutorial), where I could remember some commands and receive some tips about how to play well. It is very important, because on Tour de France mode, strategy is A LOT important - if you "attack" on beginning, probably will be tired soon and the peloton will catch you quickly, you should also know when to attack for a win, because this game will not forgive you if you make a minimal error, and even should control your energy use because it can results in having less energy for the following stage... Other important thing is, like actual Tour, you should work as a team - actually, you are allowed to change riders while in a stage, or even give some commands to them; again, strategy is your key here... This game is a bit "time-friendly" - while actual stages last around 4~5 hours, this game shorten distances (they're the same as actual stages, but kilometers ridden flow faster), making a stage be concluded on about 1 hour if played entirely on road; you can also use a "fast forward" function (found in pause menu) to skip some pieces of stage - on "fast forward", you can see about how far your riders are about leaders, their setted strategies and even their level of energy (there are three "kinds" of energy, used on different circumstances). Other important thing to note is this game does not have difficulty setting, and this unique difficulty is not forgivable to newcomers - I've tried to win some courses, and I have not any chance... Trophy-wise, this game appears to be a bit difficult, mainly some objectives you should conclude in a single tour - these objectives depend on the chosen team: while one of the weakest teams asks as its "Platinum objective" 'Be the Top 5 on a specific final classification with a specific rider' (on Tour there are specific classifications for yellow jacket, green jacket, polkadot jacket, white jacket and teams), one of the best teams asks as Platinum objective 'An 1-2 with specific riders on General classification' (Yellow Jacket, the main one)... It can be difficult mainly because these objectives usually sort riders which should achieve specific goals... Tomorrow plans: Probably I will give a try on Pro Mode (apparently here you make your own team from basics, and from it you should make your team to Top ones). I'd like to also complete a course without using fast forward, but probably I will not have enough time to do it (probably I will not do it while in KYC...). Playtime: Maybe one hour and a half Trophies obtained: 6 from 24 (Completion at 9% - Rank E) Personal Completion: from 71,91% to 71,76%
Popular Post Spider5786
Update Just Cause 3 Time Played - 4 hours Trophies - 8 of 67 (7%) Really fun game where you perform crazy stunts via car, plane or parachute and blow stuff up via guns, explosivea or tethering (attach rope to two different objects and pull them together). I doubt my opinion on this game will change, mindless entertainment well worth picking up in a sale.
Popular Post JoaoQuique
Bonus Game Nº 1 - Baseball Riot What's about? It's about a former baseball player which wants vengeance against Explodz Inc. and somebody - this plot is strongly similar than its prequel Tennis in the Face. My expectations: I've completed Tennis in the Face three times, one after other, on different platforms - and I liked to play that game all these times. Since this game is a lot similar than Tennis in the Face, I'm hoping same level of fun. My gaming plan: I will complete stages one after other, without minding about trophies so much on first days. I don't know if I will complete all stages before clean-up trophies or start to hunt trophies second day onwards. Which grade do I think I will give to this game? I think it will be (scoring from "hidden" to "platinum"), and a personal .
Popular Post Hemiak
Hem Time Game 1, update 2. 3.5 hours played, 14/28 trophies for 32% So I finished the final boss last night and got to watch the credits, not really much of an actual ending, which was kind of a let down. After the credits ended I was treated to a few new options. There is new game+, no roll mode, iron mode, and continue. Continue puts you back in the room where you fought The Soul. If you move forward there's a big door that opens if you've killed all 18 Titans, and you get to fight the real final boss. If you beat him you get a very minor ending, and the exact same credits, which you can't skip. I finished with the true ending at about 3 hours, and 155 deaths. Continuing from there puts you back at the start of the game, but all the doors are open already and you can fight any of the Titans as many times as you want for practice, or to clean up the miscellaneous trophy attached to almost all of them, so I did this. I've now finished the misc task on all but 2 or 3 of them and feel pretty comfortable with my strategy for almost all of them. The platinum involves a run through on iron mode where you kill every boss, a no roll any% run, an any% 20 min speedrun, a hard mode (new game+) run, and a hard + iron mode run. All of this means you need to be very familiar with the bosses and how to get from place to place efficiently. I'm probably going to start my no roll mode run once I get back from the little mini vacation we decided to take today and tomorrow. So now, dun da da dun!!! The bosses: There are 17 Titans throughout the game, then the final Titan, and the True End Titan if you have beaten all 18. There are 4 titans in the initial area, and all four need to be defeated to unlock the first gate and elevator. The first Titan I fought is a huge slime with a heart in the middle. Every time you hit him he splits in half. After hitting the part that holds the heart 4 times it becomes available to hit and kill. I killed this boss on my first try, he's not bad if you just do the absolute minimum splits. The misc trophy requires you to split him as many times as possible, which means there are something like 16 mini slimes bouncing around trying to kill you. Edit: OK, so I had the first 8 bosses done in the above style and my phone took a dump and this was all that got saved. Now you'll get a much more condensed version of each boss in roughly the order I encountered them. Boss: Eye Cube Attacks: flips towards you, eye laser Weak Point: Eye Strategy: Either wait for him to stop, make sure you aren't in the laser path, and shoot, or try to hit him with an arrow while he's moving. Boss: Brain in block of ice Attacks: Slides around hits you. Phase 2 - tries to bounce on your head. Weak Point: Brain Strategy: wait for the block to hit one of the 4 switches, which lights a fire for a short time. Fire an arrow through the flame to melt the ice block. Hit the brain when it's on the ground. Boss: Crumbly Statue Attacks: Tries to smash you with either fist. Weak Point: Glowing glyph in stomach. Strategy: Bait 2nd hand into attacking, which reveals the weak point, shoot before you die. Ice Area Boss: Yeti Attacks: Throws 4 snowballs (only kill if you get knocked into a wall), Sonic the yeti roll, icicles fall from the roof. Weak Point: His big pink butt. Strategy: Stand near a wall, dodge snowballs. When he bounces off the wall shoot him in his ass the second he lands. Boss: Stationary Tooth Titan Attacks: Boss: Breath (pushes you back), burrows underground and pops up (don't think this can kill but it affects strategy) Underground Tentacle thing: can kill if it emerges directly beneath you, knocks you back if close (kills if you hit a wall), shoots a line of ice crystals which persist for 5 seconds, which will also kill if you walk into them. Weak Point: Mouth (behind teeth) Strategy: The boss has 5 teeth which protect his sensitive mouth. You need to bait the Tentacle into shooting ice into the mouth to break at least one tooth. Once done shoot the mouth for the win. Boss: Water Dragon Snake??? Attacks: jumps out of the water, kills if it hits you on the way up or down. Every 3rd cycle electrifies the entire pool. Weak Point: crystal tail tip Strategy: bait it into surfacing in open water, swim like hell to one of the icebergs, shoot the tail tip. Fire Area Boss: Giant Ball with Eye Attacks: Rolls fast, leaves fire trails Weak Point: Eye Strategy: Avoid until it slows down, or immediately back up pto the wall and perfect time a shot just before it kills you with its initial charge. Boss: Lava Blob Attacks: Jumps around, spits out 10 lava dots, which it then sucks toward it. Spits out a huge explosive glob which explodes after contacting something. Weak Point: Crystal heart Strategy: the blob jumps, spits, and inhales lava. Fire arrow into the mouth when it's inhaling. Now when you try to recover the arrow you pull the Titan towards you. Start pulling the Titan slowly closer to the explosive blob, dodging lava dots. When the Titan touches the blob all the lava will be blown off the crystal heart and the Titan will become immobile and start pulling lava back, shoot the crystal immediately. Boss: Spiked Ball Titan Attacks: Smashes with spiked balls, spins around. Weak Point: Glowing square on back. Strategy: I'm not actually sure of the "normal" method, but if you move around a few times he'll begin spinning with his arms in closer. Time a shot into the square to win, this got me the misc trophy though, so there might be an easier way. I think this post has gotten and taken entirely too long so I'm going to end it here for now. I ended up falling asleep at 9pm last night trying to get my kids to bed, or I would have posted last night.
