Popular Post Sergen Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Share Posted June 22, 2020 It had been a while since I last used Gonespy, but I wanna let you all know that Dungeon Defenders private matches work through Gonespy as I have recently tested it with 2 copies of the game on 2 PS3s and been able to invite my alt to a lobby. The matchmaking needs to be implemented and it's unsure if that would need the private key or not (the same key preventing entry to games where you can't even get on like Midnight club for instance). So i finally got the server working after giving up months ago, although it wasn't straight forward and the biggest problem was myself(?) i came back to it with a little help and now i'm raking up the multiplayer wins. Big thank you to @fastflowdaman he messaged me to see if i had got it working (which i hadn't) but in-turn fired up my want to get it working again. so originally i had the same error as @fastflowdaman in deadwood, which was 'Fatal error in dwood3rc file on line 19 incomplete last line'. we didn't know how to solve this, but after a few days of searching and messaging @fastflowdaman messaged me saying he got it working and that he had found out the file needed another line underneath to finish line 19 properly. had we been knowledgeable in this sort of thing it would probable been obvious. so now to my next problem, his worked and mine still didn't. so after re-installing everything and setting it up again i still had an error, deadwood would fail and stop running every time if maradns was already running. if i started deadwood up first it would be fine and i would then get an error in maradns saying unable to bind to port 53. so after a long time spend messing with the firewall and ports and my router, i even did a fresh windows install just to purely run this. nothing worked. After a lot of heartache and frustration i realised it was my fault. I had slightly miss read the instructions this time round and changed the IP in the mararc file to that of my PC, i must have been rushing thinking id done all this before and was excited to maybe get it to work, which lead me to make a rookie mistake. anyway i changed it back to what it was supposed to be and BOOM, everything worked fine.
