These levels, by the way, look a bit like this: Reveal hidden contents So they end up working really well with the artstyle and add an additional layer of difficulty by making you think outside the box. The start of the game was pretty easy but the game gradually gets more difficult. At the point where I'm at right now (level 4-5) it feels very satisfying to complete a level but it's nowhere near an impossible feat. Another Back to Bed-art style game, eh? I had purchased this for like $1 several months ago on a whim... now I'm intrigued if only by that art style.
Popular Post Metal Slime King
What unholy grind have I gotten myself into now? Game #2 - Rayman Legends - Day 3 Well at least I got my Gold Challenge trophy out of the way . Looks like the challenge mode in this game is where most of the grind will be. You need to earn cups in order to gain XP towards your "Awesomeness" level which there is a trophy for reaching Lv11 I believe. Obviously the better the cup the more XP earned. I think I lucked out getting a daily challenge where you had to get as far as you can without getting hit which I had a better chance in scoring a gold than a time focused challenge. There are trophies for getting a bronze, silver and gold cup. Fortunately there's no trophy for getting a platinum cup, the top ten scores on challenge frankly seem insane to achieve. I got 1450 M into the level for a gold trophy, I think someone in the platinum range got like 50,000 M!! Game #3 - Moon Diver - Day 1 I had no idea what to expect from this lesser known title published by Square. What I got was a rather generic seeming cyber-ninja hack and slash where you hack up a lot of generic dudes in generic apocalyptic levels. It didn't leave a strong first impression but I'll give it a chance. The grind in this one appears to be getting a "powered up" special ability that you can use with 4 players for one particular trophy.
Popular Post kingofbattle8174
Another 24 hour shift and another Vita game. This time I am going short and sweet. I may also have enough time to do a bonus game tonight if time allows. Today’s game: Demetrios Starting PCG: 50.00% Last PCG: 49.01% Current PCG: 48.29% Trophies 2/38 02% So this is point and click game with some light puzzles and story. Where the bread and butter of this game is though is its humor. The game has three levels of humor, you have to use the top toilet humor though or you will be prevented from taking certain actions , as such locking you out of the platinum in one playthrough. Nothing is missable since it has a chapter select and a good tracking system for your collectables, which are your deaths and cookies. Dying in this game is hilarious as it is things such as sticking your finger in a socket while also having a hand under water. The retry screen gives you a unique epitaph for each individual death and are equally funny. Each screen also has three hidden cookies to find and as a fat slob you need to find them all. There are also other funny things that you can do such as photocopying your butt in the police station. Which gets you arrested by the way and nets you a trophy. This is an entertaining way to spend a good chunk of time tonight. I need to clear some harddrive space to get this months ps plus’s. I also want some time for another game that was not on my radar for KYC. My library has the new Spiderman game yesterday and I snagged it up. So it is mine for the next few weeks. I will find time to put my thoughts here as I start up a few hours.
Popular Post DamagingRob
Game #2 Rayman Legends- Final Review So, here we are. This game has been a blast to play for the past few days, and I feel like I made the right choice playing it after Lumo. Two really difficult games in a row may have made me assume the fetal position. I honestly hate to stop playing. I might continue to play the daily challenges, until my Plus expires (hopefully, renewing on or around Black Friday). And I'll probably earn one more trophy for getting a Bronze cup on today's challenge. For whatever reason, they don't stack, so I had to perform poorly to ensure I got one. This game keeps throwing new and interesting stuff at you. For the most part, you'll be running and jumping. Enemies can be attacked or sometimes jumped on. A good speedrunning tactic is to attack while sprinting, and then jump before the attack ends. By doing this a lot during timed challenges, I was able to get some gold trophies. You'll also control another character sometimes with , who will then move a platform or perform some other action so you can progress. It can get tricky, when you need to control both at once. Different game mechanics are constantly being added. You'll swim underwater, become a duck, use airstreams to float, shrink yourself, avoid search lights and lasers (with a trophy giving a nod to Splinter Cell), and more. Each area has a shorter, boss fight level near the end. And at the very end is a sort of bonus level. These are really neat, and hard to describe. They're like musicals, and every time you jump, attack an enemy, or collect something a note goes off. You also need to move pretty quick, since you have to keep up with the beat. Or die. So yeah, highly enjoyed this one. The only thing I could see being a negative is the online grind, which will likely take months.. But other than that, everything else has been stellar. Can't fathom why I stopped playing Origins. May have to go back to that one. I'm giving this a . Time played: I'm going to guess 15-20 hours, but I have no idea. :/Trophy progress: 29/51 for 42% and an A rank. Did it lower my completion? Yes, finally dropped a little bit. 5 hours ago, Metal Slime King said: I think I lucked out getting a daily challenge where you had to get as far as you can without getting hit which I had a better chance in scoring a gold than a time focused challenge. Funny enough, I seem to do better with the timed ones. Lol. Shaving off seconds and nabbing a gold seems to be easier for me, than trying to "go the distance." I always hit something, and have only managed silvers on those. :/

Popular Post dmland12
Game #2: 2064: Read Only Memories Trophies: 38/65 (62%) Completion: 93.66% (-0.31%, -1.10% from start) 2064: Read Only Memories is a point-and-click adventure game that was on PS+ last month. It's rather light on adventure elements though and heavy on story/dialogue. Unlike most adventure games, it's very unlikely you'll need a guide just to complete the game. It's generally clear what you need to do and even when it's not, you can just try everything until something works. Going after the platinum is another matter. There's multiple endings and plenty of trophies for doing some little thing here or there. The platinum doesn't look difficult to get, but I don't know how much time it will take to get all the endings and clean up the rest. Overall, I enjoyed the game, but I'll start with a couple of negative experiences I had before getting to the positives. First, I managed to softlock the game near the end and the game doesn't auto-save. My last save was a little older than I would have liked. Partly my fault, since the game was very clear that you should save often. But still, softlocks are bad. Of course, if it had been aggressively auto-saving, it could have been even worse... if it did so after the softlock. Second, the game was giving me some serious trouble at solving one of it's "puzzles." It was simple enough... just enter a password you find in the same room. The trouble was that I could barely select any characters. I had to hit x repeatedly until it finally registered for every single character in the password (10 characters). That was annoying. I had to play this part over a second time due to the softlock issue I described above and the second time everything was fine. So, at least it's not always like that. Now, on to the positives. This game is very heavy on it's story and dialogue and I think it really did a good job here. I don't want to get into any great detail here, since it's so story-driven, but I'll give you my general impression. The game basically takes the futuristic technologies that people are researching/speculating about today (gene therapy, artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, brain transference/uploading) and then built a world and story based on that. Throw in the political and cultural concerns that spring from that as well as some others that are familiar (like corporations collecting massive amounts of data on almost everyone). It's ambitious, interesting, and is handled with more depth than you'd expect from a video game. Narratively, the story was good, and did a good job of making you want to see what happens next. The soundtrack was also surprisingly good and fit well with what was going on. I liked the game's sense of humor too. Despite the minor glitches I ran into, I'm glad I played this one.
Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
2064: Read Only Memories Non-VR game #1 Final Review Total playtime: about three and a half hours Trophy count: 8/65, 11%, for a C rank Did it lower my completion percentage? Yes, big time. hate against AI hate against body augments no subtext here, sir Spoiler So, yesterday I wanted to get into 2064, but after a long day of work, I only managed to play half an hour before deciding I should sleep for a bit. Didn't want to leave it at under three hours so I sneakily played a bit more today. I don't have much to add to my earlier reviews, except that I now feel like it's definitely too easy with too much handholding to boot. Guess I'm more accustomed to the old school insane logic point and click games. Visual novel fans will probably find more to like here, it's just not for me. I'll definitely finish one story playthrough, perhals right after KYC, but it's not going down as one of my favourites. Pretty interesting story though and a few cool ideas, there's just too little actual gameplay for me. Even actual dialogue choices can be few and far between. Final score: Up next: You know, I'm about to start my next game and even right now, I don't know yet. Broforce perhaps, which might be easier to put down when Hitman 2 arrives. Or Burly Men At Sea, because I might not have gaming time tomorrow and with Burly Men at least I'm sure I can get through the story.
Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Burly Men At Sea Non-VR game #2 First Playthrough Review Total playtime: about half an hour So, just in case it isn't obvious yet, I played through Burly Men At Sea once. For those who haven't played it: it's on PS+, it's fun, and even though one playthrough is quite short, you won't get everything done in one go, as me trophying 5 out of 25 achievements *cough* achieving 5 out of 25 trophies will tell you. I don't want to spoil, so I'd rather say too little than too much. It's safe to say that you'll find out very quickly that doing some stuff will lock you out of some other stuff. I really enjoyed the game. The graphics are simplistic but nice, the music is catchy, and the game doesn't overstay its welcome by a long shot. I liked the idea behind the story too, as well as the conclusion and the humour. And now the big question: will I leave the game for now and concentrate on a VR game tomorrow (if I get time for gaming at all), or does someone want me to get the platinum during the event so I can give an opinion on the full experience?
Popular Post DragonQuest238
Day 1 of Game 2: Played for 2.5 hours Everyone calls Re:Chain of Memories the black sheep of the Kingdom Hearts series. It's true that the combat is kind of unorthodox, with you entering battle scenes like in Final Fantasy games of ages past and you have to rely on a limited resource(cards) to even do normal attacks. However, I think this game gets way too much hate. If you know anything about the Kingdom Hearts history, this game is a 3D remaster of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, which was created for the Gameboy Advance. As such it was very difficult to create a game similar to the action-RPG mechanics of the original Kingdom Hearts, so this utilized the isometric view of games like the GBA Spyro games and Every time Sora levels up, he can choose to increase his HP, his CP(card points, which is basically how you determine how many cards you can put in your deck, with higher rank cards costing more) or he can learn a sleight, an attack he gets by storing three cards in his queue and then unleashing them with . Right now I have Sliding Dash and Stun Impact, but later I'll get more powerful sleights. You don't have to have a sleight to store cards in your queue and you need to learn all of the special non-learned sleights, like the magic upgrades(store three Blizzard cards to cast Blizzaga, store three Cloud cards to get his Omnislash, etc.) and more. You lose the first card used in a stored stack for the entire battle, unless you use certain item cards that can restore them to your deck, so you have to use regular attacks most of the time and your opponent can 'break' your cards if you attack with a card that has a lower number(1-9) than they attack with. However, if you or the enemy plays a card with 0 in it right after the other attacks, their card is automatically broken. It's like the Ace in regular cards when playing Blackjack - it can be a 1 or an 11 depending on the situation. I just got four trophies out the way, really easy ones except for Tightrope Walker. I died once trying it because enemies on Proud mode do not mess around.

I really enjoyed playing this game, it felt good and the story was okay. I read before playing that the graphics weren't that great but im not that much in to graphics as im still playing my backlog from ps3 from time to time. While playing the story got me and i started it during my weekend so i could put in some extra hours. I did use a guide for the collectibles so that i could enjoy the story and don't have to worry about missing some of the missable collectibles. If there are people who like these kind of games and haven't tried this one yet, please give it a try. You will be able to get it cheap and it is well worth it. I really liked playing this game and i am glad that i have picked this game up from the local store. Game rating: 7/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Next up will be Uncharted golden abyss. I will start this game tonight or tomorrow, since i got RDR2 with my brother and we couldn't resist to play that one. RDR will probably also be my go to game between the others if i finish early or end up dont liking the game.
Popular Post SyIaris
Destroy All Humans! Game #2 (4th-6th) 2 hours played 6/38 (-0.24%) Had some very busy days and didn't get much time to game, but going by the trophies I made it around a third of the way through the levels. Did get some quick bronzes in another game to keep my streak going, and Elder Scrolls Online added a couple new trophies to tank a little extra. While the storyline doesn't really catch my interest, it's not bad - something of a comedic B-movie alien invasion. Gameplay feels a little clunky and unintuitive, but certainly not unplayably so. Gets some leeway for being a PS2 game, and nowhere near the worst of that generation. The music's probably the highlight of the game for me, the creepy vibe doesn't quite fit in but adds some great old-school horror atmosphere. I'll probably finish it up someday just to finish it, but I'm not sure I'll bother with the sequel from the same bundle.
Popular Post ImBossy83
Final Review Game 1 I played until i finished chapter 1 of this game and i really liked what i saw. The Game let's you play as Rean and his classmates that arrived at a prestigious military academy only to find out that their group was placed in some sort of Special class. Where the workload would be significantly higher. The main gameplay has you running around and do some easy Sidequest as well as the occasional turn based Battle. In the battles there is a lot to think about. You have three different resources your standard health Points. Your Mana equivalent that you can use to do Arts (sort of magic attacks) and you have a third that regenerates through your actions in battle that you can use to do Craft's. There's also a billion other stats that you can keep an eye out for, the character sheets of your opponents are full with it. There's a lot to this game and like it for that. I think that i will go for the Platinum eventually. AJ_Radio
Very happy to see everyone post their reviews and thoughts on their games. Because of personal things and work I’ve had to deal with that have been out of my control, I haven’t had much time to play at all. I only posted Dokuro thus far and hopefully no one took those dates literally. I just put them there because I thought I was going to cover them on those dates but because of little time I just haven’t gotten around to them yet. I still want to cover the games I want to play, give them a day to day review and final review, and put in at least 3 to 5 hours on each game. This event lasts until November 30th so there’s still time. That’s roughly 15 to 25 hours, maybe more or less depending on how much time I have. Hope everyone is having fun with gaming in this event.
Popular Post XX_FTW
Va-11 Hall-a Game 1 I’m late to the party due to my increasingly unpredictable schedule but I did manage to get some time with the game during the allotted timeframe. And I really wish I’d gotten more! Cyberpunk Bartending is such exactly what you are getting. The game’s story (or what I’ve seen of it) is stuffed with oddball characters having overreactions (or not reacting enough when appropriate) to the events of your bar shift and/or their lives outside of their casual drinks. These oddballs are enough to make you chuckle and roll your eyes all at once at the intentional ridiculousness. The gameplay itself is part-bartending simulation and part-dramatic stage play. I hesitate to say call that half visual novel as... I’m not sure it fits. The bartending is essentially a recipe-based puzzle where you are presented with the creation of cocktails by following a recipe, with the added challenge of sometimes ambiguous requests. For example, a partitioner may request a drink to help them relax and that’s your only clue to what they may want or may ask very directly for a particular beverage but they want a double (called Big in this game), or expect you to recall their order from the other day. I can’t speak to the development of over the game as I last saved during Day 3 (the games progression is marked in days). One of the bar attendees- whom I suspect will tie into the larger story later on- called the bar a hellhole but at least the music is good. And yes, the music is good... I admit I mostly didn’t pay too much attention to it but when I did, I dug it in a Drive (film) kinda way. (One odd thing I picked up on was a bit of weird racial undertone... I however have come to no conclusion on it as I haven’t played enough of it to say and didn’t se anything egregious. Figured I’d mention it in case anyone reading this may be sensitive to it as a heads up.) Anyway, on to the next one: maybe Deemo? Popular Post Kevvik
Ok, change of plans... Game #3: Forma.8 Initial Impressions Time played: 45 min So not much time to play with my god-daughter around (definitely no horror games) but I pulled a little Vita time and decided on Forma.8 as my next selection. This is a strange little exploration/maybe Metroidvania? title. Pretty much no story intro other than a spaceship approaching a planet and sending out the little mass-produced little spheres with eyes that seem to contain some kind of AI? One crashes into a pillar/structure on the new planet and you take control inside what feels like a series of maze like caves. You seek out discoveries within the cave system. You basically hover and move 2D style throughout the environment. There are items you find which give you new abilities like an energy flash around you which can damage foes trying to attack you. Later, I found one that gave me the power to shoot mine-like devices at distant foes or to dislodge loose rock piles which opened other paths. You come across gates which require you to search surrounding caves for keys. As I said, there doesn't really seem to be a story at this point so exploration and survival are the order of the day. Health is lost by being attacked and regained by energy obtained by killing foes or sitting around like mossy dandelions to be collected. If you die, you restart at a nearby checkpoint at the entrance to the current area. I got as far as finding a boss of sorts, a giant snake-like plant that breathed either bullet like fireballs of larger ones that would sit like mines in the area and impede my manoeuvering. I didn't beat the boss (tried several times to no success) but managed to satiate it, allowing me access to the item hidden behind it. That's where I stopped for the night. The graphics are tight and serviceable, though nothing spectacular. The controls have been tight as well. When I bump into something, I know it's my fault. I'm enjoying this even if I really don't know what I'm trying to actually accomplish yet. We'll see if I find out anything later. Trophies earned: 5/30, 8% for D rank Score so far: 6.5/10
Popular Post SyIaris
Lords of the Fallen Game #3 (7th-9th) ~1 hour played 6/57 (-0.67%) Here's hoping I just picked the wrong class to start, because I kind of hate it. Only managed to get past the first boss by stripping naked so I wasn't dodging slower than stalactites form. Gave up after some random spider killed me five times in a row. For being "easier", this is giving me far more trouble than my weak attempt at Demon's Souls - at least I was hitting things then. Not sure why this idiot seems to have to try and wear the enemies' armor while they're still using it to fight them. 6 hours ago, MarkusT1992 said: Destroy all Humans 2 is much better than the first one in my opinion. Popular Post SolarCat02
Day one of The Talos Principle, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Definitely going to finish this one at some point. It's a puzzle game, which means you can look up all the answers online in all likelihood, but I want to figure them all out on my own so that's what I have been doing. There is a small storyline woven throughout, which I will not detail to prevent spoilers. It's a nice touch but at least so far has no effect on the gameplay itself. The puzzles are good at slowly introducing you to concepts. You start with ability to use jammers which you learn can be used to jam force fields that prevent you from entering an area, as well as freezing these mobile round ball robots or disabling stationary lasers, both of which can kill you. Death is expected when sorting out how different puzzles are meant to be solved but also no big deal, it just rewinds you back to the beginning of the puzzle to start over. As you solve puzzles you gain sigils which can be combined to unlock gates but also two different additional additional items, one which allows you to direct colored beams of light, the other which looks like a cube and I don't know what it does yet because I just unlocked it. There are also stars scattered throughout to unlock a special area or something. These are going to be the tricky ones. They throw the first one at you so you know to look for the but after that... Let's just say the second one I found I eventually looked up a quick video thinking I was overlooking something obvious within that puzzle and turns out I had to manipulate a different puzzle to gain access to what I needed within the puzzle with the star. So... Stars are going to be interesting and I will probably need internet help but I think I can do the rest myself. Really looking forward to playing more of this one. So far I would recoend it for anyone who enjoys a good puzzle game. As an added note, the scenery is beautify and reminds me of the days my siblings and I were sorting through the world of Myst back when that game was fairly new. Beautiful, solitary (aside from the occasional storyline "narrator" dialog, for lack of a non-spoiler term), and very easy to get lost just wandering around looking at it all. There is a lot of ground to cover as well, but this is no walking simulator. Your default speed seems to be run unless you feather the stick, and you can sprint twice that speed by holding down L2. Which is good, because some puzzles are easier when running!

Popular Post DamagingRob
Game #3 Day 1- Rogue Legacy I should have went with Bulletstorm. Lol. Fuuuuck me, this has not been a great first day. This is either super hard, or I'm playing it wrong. And then I must have misread the text about cross saves, and deleted a bunch of my progress (went from Level 30+ all the way back to 9 ?).Backed up my save and beat the first boss, so I could at least feel like I accomplished something today.. The game is classified as a rogue- "lite," and has a retro style to it. You choose from a group of 3 different men or women each time you begin a run, and try to get as far as you can through this dungeon. Along the way you'll collect gold, which can be used to buy upgrades and equipment to make each subsequent run easier (though it never felt like it was getting much easier to me..). And the dungeon resets itself, and is different every time. The only thing that doesn't seem to reset, is defeated bosses. Which is nice, because I was thinking I may have to beat them all in one go. Thank God for small favors.. Each character you choose will be a different class. There's barbarians, knights, mages, shinobi, and more all with their strengths and weaknesses. And then they'll have different traits and abilities. Some useless, some beneficial, and some that will be a hindrance. Examples of some I've seen are blurred parts of the screen, a dark or colorless screen, mini and giant people, one that makes chicken health items come to life and force you to kill them like other enemies, and farting. Yes, you read that right.. Dungeon rooms will have enemies and/or traps to kill or avoid. Things like skeletons that throw their bones at you, mages that shoot ice and fire projectiles, big suits of armor that will swing their axe or throw it, spikes in the floor, eyeballs, and more. Some rooms contain mini bosses, which are harder than normal enemies. And you may find rooms that give you powerups, or contain chests. Chests may give you money, blueprints, or runes. Blueprints and runes unlock new items in the shops, but will have to be purchased with gold to equip. And then there are the boss fights. I assume there are only a handful, since it looks like beating four unlocks the door at the beginning. But who knows? The one I fought was a giant eyeball, spewing projectiles every which way. Once you learn the pattern, it's not too hard to dodge. But just a few hits and you're dead in this game.. So yeah, I don't know how I feel about this game. Bloodborne started out super difficult as well, and I eventually came to love it. The same could happen here, but only time will tell. Time played: 5-6 hours. Trophy progress: 8/30 for 12% and a D rank.

Runes and equipment make a massive difference once you get some that fit your needs, and castle upgrades can stack up pretty quickly early on - if you can afford to, dump points into anything that sounds helpful in between rounds. Holding out for one extra hit, being able to throw an extra spell, or having a bit more damage can be enough to get you to some recovery items. Sometimes you'll just get a room your character can't handle - if the layout's good otherwise, locking it down and trying for one with the ability needed can be worth it. ...The remix bosses are a pain, though.
