dmland12
Here's where I'm starting from: Games played: 114 Games Completed: 98 Unearned Trophies: 185 Completion Percentage: 94.76% I've gotten one trophy in my first game, so I'm off. I hope everyone has a good time with it and I'm looking forward to reading the reviews. One of the best parts of this is seeing what everyone else is playing and what they think about it.

AJ_Radio
Might as well list some statistics. Games Played: 256 Games Completed: 232 Completion Percentage: 91.75% Unearned Trophies: 890 Unearned Trophies will certainly go well over 1000, and Completion Percentage will drop below 90 percent for the first time since last year in the summer. For my first game (Dokuro), I will probably play for a hour or two at most, since I intend to finish up Stories: The Path of Destinies. I'll still give my thoughts on the first game I picked just like everyone here who has contributed to this event, so no worries.
Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
2064 Read Only Memories Non-VR game #1 First Hour Review Total playtime: about one hour So, instead of doing a day one review and a final review, I decided that this time, I'll write a first review after one hour of playing. Seeing as I'm giving each game a co-spot in a set of six days, some longer games might get more reviews because I have more to add, but I'll always do one review after playing for one hour, one final review, and (might overlap with one/both of the first two types) a review upon finishing the story, should I get that far. This also means that even with games I don't enjoy at all, I will try to get at least one full hour of playtime before I dismiss the game. With that being said, I just played an hour of 2064 Read Only Memories. ... Though I do see why some others would call it a bit clunky, I'm really enjoying the game so far. I've basically finished the prologue at this point, and have finished up the conversation that the start of chapter one leads into. Basically, imagine a classic LucasArts point and click game with some lower production values, and the Telltale cursor style (click on something then choose an action, instead of having a full bar of interaction options). The game seems to be about you helping Turing, who might be the first actual AI, find his kidnapped maker, a programmer you used to know. This story is set against the backdrop of a futuristic San Francisco, where people can get augmentations (think Batman Beyond but extrapolated, with people with cat eyes/ears and such), and where other people are rioting against augmentation because they feel like genes should not be messed with. Yeah, totally not getting a transgender subtext from this... Which brings me to the point of political messages in a video game. I kind of have to talk about it. What with the devs of this game being open about their intended message (inclusion for all sexual and gender orientations), and with them tweeting something akin to Trump voters shouldn't play their game and instead can just fuck off, I can't fully talk about 2064 ROM unless I adress this too. Well, my opinion is that video games are a medium to tell a story and they have as much a right of delivering a moral or message as movies do. While I do think that telling people to fuck off isn't exactly the epitome of staying professional, I can see where it's coming from, I don't mind people making a stand against what they think is wrong, and I feel like Trump supporters would've probably hated a game with a pro-LGBT+ message anyway, probably while yelling words like "SJWs" and "pandering". In short: I've stated what I think of the whole situation now, and past this point I will look at the game on its own, without taking into account the controversy that surrounded it in early 2017. I think the game is nice and sweet so far. It's not really difficult for now, but as I've heard people describe this game as halfway between a point and click and a visual novel instead of just calling it a point and click, I know what to expect in difficulty. The music is better than I expected, and the graphics, while better suited for a handheld, don't hurt my eyes like the graphics of Xeodrifter did. I should add at this point that I already know the game has recently released on the Switch, as a "definitive" edition with some additional content that won't be added to other versions, so right now this is me not only playing a PS+ game, but also trying to figure out if I want to buy the Switch version at some point. I hope I have the time to finish the story during the event, so that I can give a full review. - Oooh! Right, almost forgot: Turing in 2064 Read Only Memories is voiced by Melissa Hutchison, voice of Clementine on The Walking Dead. So, if you're into her work, she's in this too as a main character. I guess I'll stick with Rogue Legacy, since I'd probably just be switching it out of fear (and @Dragon-Archon's status updates haven't been helping ). Can always play Bulletstorm at a later date. I just beat the game last night and already defeated 2 out of 5 bosses during NG+ with only 3 deaths . Beating the trophy with 15 deaths or less suddenly seems a lot more doable. Bulletstorm is a hilarious game though: the cheesy lines, crazy weapons, and the various killshots (ways of killing enemies) are great. The world also looks colourful and beautiful, this is based on playing the PS3 version, so the PS4 version should look even better. Even most of the mp trophies can be done solo, including reaching level 65.

kingofbattle8174
Well this is a bummer. So a change of plans is in order. I was in the middle of physical therapy and got notified that I had a 24 hour shift today. So there goes my plans for starting Attack on Titan 2 today. I do have my vita and charger, so I guess I will go with one of those games instead. I believe then I will play my Doctor who game. So before I begin what are my expectations. Well it is an older game, circa 2012 so it may be clunky. Which is something I have heard before. I am a huge fan of the series. This version of the doctor is not my favorite but he is not the worst either. Looking at the trophies there are a good number of story related, some collectibles, beating certain puzzles under time limits, beating all the puzzles with each difficulty ( but those do stack), and beating the whole game in 300 minutes. Nothing is missable per se because there is a chapter select. There is also supposedly a glitch according to the guide that if you play just the first and last chapter at a certain difficulty, it will unlock that trophy. Today the focus will be just to play through the story on easy. Get aquatinted with the game and how the puzzles work. If I am lucky I may even get the 300 minute one as well. Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Esper VR game #1 Final Review Total playtime: about one hour and fifteen minutes (story finished after about one hour and five minutes) Trophy count: 19/19, 100%, for an S rank Did it lower my completion percentage? NO. So, uhm... That happened. ... Really? The game is over already? What the fuck? I heard my phone alarm go off at the one hour mark (so I could write my first hour review), but I was at what seemed like (and was) the final level by that point so I decided to just continue playing to the endgame. After that, I missed only three or four trophies, the description of which made it very easy to figure out where I needed to do what, so apparently Esper is my new fastest platinum. I mean, what the actual hell? Those two players who validated it on HowLongToBeat at 2.5 to 3 hours must both be as dumb as a brick! Yeah, I guess the game was only €8 so I figure I got my money's worth, but it really feels like part one of something that should've gone on. Did you notice, KYC regulars, that I'm so confused by having finished the game that I just started typing a review and forgot that I always do a special final review as a haiku or limerick with the real review hidden in a spoiler? Well, I guess I can write a haiku for Esper... A short puzzle game Fairly short game in the end What the fuck Come on, the Esper devs obviously weren't trying to have a decent conclusion to what was a fairly strong beginning, so who cares if I don't follow the usual haiku rules either? Come to think of it, Portal was too long too. Could've just ended in the incinerator. And Hitman doesn't really need all those locations and missions, the tutorial is enough! Cats and dogs, living together! ... Ahem. So, about Esper... you can move objects with your mind, and people run tests on you, which ends up being just moving cubes and balls to their respective sockets. There's a bit of variation, but the game stops when it feels like it's just getting started. And the few puzzles that were hard for me, were still easy to solve, but it was just hard getting the game's physics to do what I needed them to do. I guess Esper is not a bad game, but it's not exactly a good one either. I can see people who love puzzles and VR games feeling like they want to play this, but I'd say it should be way down on your list. Put Statik on top of that list, which is a great unique VR puzzle game (not too long either, but at least it's satisfying). Put Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes after that (if you have someone to play with you), and put I Expect You To Die after that. After those games, maybe you can think about Esper. Maybe. It's just, come on! I wasn't even that fast! I just checked the fastest achievers list and of the 114 or so people on this site who 100%ed it, I'm only the 25th fastest, there are people getting the platinum in under half an hour! ... Okay, done now. To recap: Esper is not a bad game but it's short, and it feels too short, with a basic story that's not set out properly and basic puzzles. It can be safely avoided by all but the biggest VR puzzle fans. Esper Final score: Up next: Wait, up next? How should I know, we're only at day one and I hadn't expected to need to pick something new until day six! I guess I have more time for 2064: Read Only Memories the next five days. Maybe I could make a start at a second VR game, So I can create some more gaming time for Hitman 2 during the event... I don't know, I'll keep y'all informed.
Popular Post DragonQuest238
I have decided to do these in six day chunks focusing on each game for six days. The roster will go like this: Dark Cloud 2 Kingdom Hearts re:Chain of Memories Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Rogue Galaxy Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition Day #1 of Dark Cloud 2 Hours Put In: 4 (but only 3 were spent gaming, the other hour was spent watching the Smash Ultimate Direct ) Trophies Earned: 2 bronze Freak Show Tinkering Away Dark Cloud 2 (known as Dark Chronicle in PAL regions) is a dungeon crawler created by Level-5, who you might recognize for the popular Ni no Kuni series(which I have yet to platinum, lol). Before Ni no Kuni or their co-op art work on Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2, they created the Dark Cloud series. I platinumed the first game but I was introduced to the series by this game, which is a far superior experience. Instead of six party members, you have only two, Maxmillian(or Max for short) the boy inventor and Monica the time-traveling princess. The Atlamilla gems are reintroduced in this game and you learn who the big bad is after you complete the first chapter. Oh yeah, this game is episodic in that is has a short prologue, seven chapters of the main story, and an eight chapter that could be considered "post-game." Every chapter has you crawling through a dungeon and fighting with a melee weapon in one hand and a ranged weapon in the other, but you eventually get a really cool rideable robot that COMPLETELY BREAKS THE GAME. Is the game good? Is Midnight Louie a black cat? But seriously, this game is amazing. A lot of stuff from the first game returns but is revamped to be more user-friendly. While some of the trophies are serious exercises in frustration(like having to win the hardest class in a fish race so you have to train a fish up to high levels so it has a ghost of a chance of winning even the beginner class - this sort of BS crops up again in Rogue Galaxy and I gripe about it there when I get to it; Medal Head is also a contender because the Spheda challenge medals for some dungeons are so difficult to get you need to clear a level over and over until the RNG kindly gives the Spheda win to you, and don't tell me about the challenge medals requiring kills only with thrown items and monster transformations in the harder dungeons, and you have to get all of the challenge medals in Moonflower Palace before you can fight the boss there or you are locked out of Medal Head because you can't go back to that dungeon. EVER.) the game over all doesn't push you to action too fast and each dungeon is a setpiece in its own right. Needless to say, expect a serious grindfest. I managed to get to the major boss of Chapter 1, but I am going to grind out tons of EXP for Steve(the Ridepod robot) so he can one-shot the guy. There is a missable photo op during that boss fight so I have to be careful to get it. (I got the other missable scoop, thankfully, which is necessary for an invention, so I would have hated myself if I had missed it because you need to make all of the invention recipes for a trophy.) Popular Post Dethfuse
So I'm deciding to go all out since my backlog is so long at this point that I'll probably never even play most of them. I'll play each game for two days and try to at least get the three hours played. Two of the games are releasing this month. I put them on the list because I'm really hyped to play them both and probably won't want to play anything else so hopefully that's okay. Anyways here is the list. 1. Train Sim World 2. Mothergunship 3. Raw Data (VR) 4. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition 5. Neon Drive 6. No Heroes Allowed VR 7. Spyro 8. Fallout 76 9. Dishonored Death of the Outsider 10. Killing Floor Incursion (VR) 11. Tooth and Tail 12. The Last Guardian 13. Evil Within 2 14. VRobot (VR) 15. Until Dawn Tried to include a good mix of indies, AAA, and VR games. Starting Stats Games Played: 1139 Games Completed: 147 Unearned Trophies: 25,608 Completion: 32.31% If it isn't obvious I don't care at all about completing games. I play games until i get tired of them. Unless the game is really short or I really enjoy it then I probably won't finish it. Looking forward to the challenge. Great idea btw. It was absolutely adorable until I hit the 5-hour mark, then I got a bit bored. Maybe bored is too strong, but the amount of going back-and-forth kind of made the game less special. Though the reason could be because I've mostly focused on doing the side-quests to strengthen a little; I mean a lot. I have to say that the graphics are colorful and beautiful, and the story's interesting. As I said, it's a very chill game, and I appreciate it more coming off of my last game, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Popular Post xFalionx
Game #1: 2064: Read Only Memories (PSVita) 1st day Total playtime: about 3 hours So, I've never heard of this game until I saw it on PSPlus and when I put it on my list I didn't even have a real look at the genre or anything, so I'm glad to see it's something I like. I also don't know about any controversies that surround the game nor do I care about that stuff. I'm more concerned with the game itself and its ability to entertain me and less with positive or negative messages regarding whatever topic the world is concerned about at the moment. Since @Kassandra did a great job at describing the setting as well as the start of the story, so I'll mostly just write about my experience with the game so far. When I booted up the game I instantly fell in love with the music and the way the title screen was unfolding. Spoiler It even has one of those clips that play when you let the game sit on the title screen for a while, which turns out to be the same one that plays when you start a new game. Kind of makes me feel nostalgic. Anyways, the art is looks absolutely great on the Vita but I can imagine that it wouldn't look as great on a large TV. Overall, you can really tell that a lot of love went into this game. The art, the OST, the way that everything you can interact with has at least two different outcomes for each interaction that is possible with that object with some actually having many more outcomes. The game also has that quirky point and click humor going for it. For example there's spoiled milk in your fridge that is utterly useless but you can still use it on pretty much every object in the game to get some funny lines. Since I'm at the start of chapter two, I can say that I like the story so far and I kinda had to tear myself away from the game because it is very easy to just keep going as the game is paced pretty well so far. I guess you can tell that the devs support LGBT pretty seriously since the only things so far that seemed unusual were the use of neutral pronouns for some characters in the game, which rarely happens and the fact that a cat lady (as in lady genetically modified to look like a cat) got seriously offended when I offered her my spoiled milk. Apparently she was more offended by the idea of me making a cat joke than you know, being offered disgusting spoiled milk. Anyways, overall I'm very pleased with the game and I'm looking forward to finishing it. 16 hours ago, DamagingRob said: What to do, what to do.. I guess I'll stick with Rogue Legacy, since I'd probably just be switching it out of fear (and @Dragon-Archon's status updates haven't been helping ). Can always play Bulletstorm at a later date. Have fun with that game. I really enjoyed playing it besides the harder trophies for the remix bosses as well as the 15 death run. I would probably not have platted the game if a friend of mine didn't bet 10€ that I wouldn't be able to get the plat. In the end the most difficult thing was remixed Alexander. I took ages to beat him but the other bosses were pretty manageable IMO. I'd also recommend beating the remix bosses before attempting the 15 death run as you'll get some serious practice that way, making the normal versions seem like child's play. Also, the 15 death trophy is cheesable, so if you end up stuck on that trophy, you can grind it out. It's to this day the plat I'm the most proud of despite only being my second rarest plat after SAO:HF.
Popular Post eigen-space
Syberia 3 First Impressions (Playtime Thus Far: ~1.5 Hours, 5 of 41 Trophies/10% for E Rank) (Current Completion - 93.33%, -1.02%) After playing both Syberia and Syberia 2 in the prior KYC, I purchased Syberia 3 as I was interested in the continuation of Kate Walker's story. Kate is a young, American lawyer who was tasked with finishing up contract agreements to sign over a European toy factory to an American buyer. Things didn't go quite as planned and, instead, Kate had to adventure through fictional European cities in order to fulfill the job she was sent to do. In order to not spoil the story of the first two games, I can't say much more than that. Syberia 3 picks up after the somewhat open-ending of Syberia 2, with a local tribe finding her nearly lifeless. They take her to a hospital, where the game begins. So far, I'm kind of unimpressed by this game. The first two games had reasons why they had clunky game play, and that's because they were PC ports with the original game being released in 2002 (PS3 version was released in 2014). I was hoping that the clunkiness would have gone away considering that Syberia 3 was actually planned for multiple platforms and was released in 2017. Instead, it still has similar problems with character movement. There also seems to be some problems with audio as it gets dropped on occasion. Another reason why I'm unimpressed is that the first two games were more focused on Kate's adventure and personal growth, whereas this game seems like it's actually creating villains for the purpose of driving the story. It just feels like a different experience than what the original games offered. One thing I'm kind of nervous about with this game would be the missable trophies. Many of the trophies require you to get a puzzle right on the first try. The reason why this kind of sucks is because the game autosaves for you (you have no option to manually save), so if you notice that you screwed up a puzzle, you need to restart the game before finishing it (autosaves often happen after puzzle completion) and hope that the prior autosave wasn't too far back. It doesn't seem like this game is going to require a huge time investment, so if you did miss something you wouldn't be wasting a ton of time, but you can't skip dialogue to make it go faster like you could in the first two games (at least not that I have found anyway). On the plus side, the music and cut scenes are still great. Edited November 1, 2018 by eigen-space
Popular Post kingofbattle8174
Game one: Doctor Who The Eternity Clock Day One review and thoughts Trophies 06/ 48 10% Starting PCG 50% Current PCG 49.37% (-.63%) Alright lets dig in. First I was not expecting a sidescrolling platformer. And that is mostly what this game is. The controls are just funtional. I must be spoiled by how good Dead Cells controls are. These work but just enough. You play as the Matt Smith Doctor and River Song. You crash for some reason so to get out of the first area you need a secod person. So on to chapter two where you steath your way out of jail. The steath portion is ok and instead of killing your guards, you use halluciagenic lipstick to get them to open locks for you. After that comes more platforming. Until you get to a section where there are lanes of enemies and you back and forth stopping them until the time goes out. Unfortunatly with the clunkyness of the controls, when the waves get closer you dont have enough time to get back and forth. After a bunch of tries, either by being killed by cybermen, stepping on a electrified rail or missing a wave, I hit a glitch. After about a minute the waves just stopped but the timer was still going. It was actually the second time. The first time I hit a lever and it restarted the waves again. This time I just let time expire and proceeded on. So four chapters in after a few hours. More restarts than should be neccesary for a game that is on easy. Alot of running and platforming but not enough story. You could do so many other types of games that would be so much better. A walking sim, a VN, more of a telltale type. Any of those would be much better. The doctor is not a platformer.
Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #1: Life is Strange (Day 1) Life is Strange is a story driven, episodic adventure game. It's developped by Dontnod, who also made Rember Me. Like I said it's episodic just like all of Telltale games are/were. I finished the first episode today which took somewhat between 2-3 hours. I guess each episode will be of similar lenght. Since this sort of game relies on the story I try to keep it as brief as possible. Also I put it in a spoiler like @eigen-space suggested. You play as Maxine "Max" Caulfield, an 18 years old girl attending Blackwell Academy to study photography. The game starts at a lighthouse during a storm where Max is hit by falling parts of the lighthouse just to be back in class. After the class has ended you head to the bathroom where you witness a boy shoting a girl. This is the time when Max discovers her abillity to rewind time. Back in the same class you just finished you decide you must prevent the girl being shot. After leaving class with the help of your powers you head straight to the bathroom. There you can prevent what happened earlier by triggering the fire alarm. Fast forward to the point where you meet the girl you saved earlier just to discover that she is Chloe, Max' childhood friend. Fast forward a bit more and we are back at the lighthouse where Max has a vision of the storm from the beginning. It seems that we have 4 days left before the heavy storm with a hurricane hitting Arcadia Bay. I liked all the little details they put in the game. All over the place you can find notes with different things that feel like the could be real. One example is a note about a person wanting to sell his bike. The game also mentions other games, movies and such stuff, which is always nice to see.
