Why is this game allowed?

Sony wants to pander to the loud minorities in hope of avoiding media backlash, they go after japanese games harder because they most likely think they could worsen japans reputation, as if videogames could make the stance of the land that brought some of the sickest shit ever to the international table any worse. There is a reason funny jokes like "never nuke a country twice" are always used whenever some weird shit from japan swaps over, that ship has sailed for japan. What these old fools do not understand is that media backlash from the degenerate sjw corner is unavoidable, they will always find something to complain about, and that it is even good for business to trigger them as hard as you can. What is the most common reaction to another slander article from shitsewers like Pcgamer or Kotaku, because a game did not give a damn about censoring their games to sjw standards?

Many people gonna buy it out of principle, people who maybe didn't even know about the game will learn about it through youtubers talking about the most recent sjw meltdown, there is no better publicity at the moment than to intentionally shit down the sjw communities throats, and many recent games failing due to their sad pandering attempts and insulting their core fanbase proved that this is not the way to go if you want success, especially since most of the people complaining about the wahmen in games do not even buy games themselves. Hell, the fact that game developer Daniel Vávra publicly laughed in the sjws faces for calling him racist because he refused to implement black people in his game Kingdom Come Deliverance, playing in 15th-century Bohemia, a location and time period where no black people were around, like every credible historian even told Vavra, played a big role in my decision to buy that game on day one, for all the good that did me.

Censorship in the USA does not really make any sense to me, never did, probably never will. They produce more porn than almost any other nation, they are one of the most violent nations, in some states you can buy weapons in a normal store right beside normal every day articles, they have mostly no problem with series like GoT showing everything from murder, war, genocide, explicit gore, torture, rape, inbreeding, explicit nudity, or a combination of several of these themes, but milions of soccer moms collectively gasp in shock whenever a game shows as much as a animated womens underwear, or god forbid actual nudity like in Conan Exiles recently. Can't have that, but at least they embraced violent shooter games and rampage simulators because that is as much part of their culture by now as "bringing freedom" to other countries. At least the censoring only applies to the american versions, one of the american players from my friendslist felt quite annoyed about that, but I think it is hilarious.

but dmc5 was affected

He probably meant games the majority of people actually care about. No doubt Dmc5 was an expensive game to make, but let's be honest here, barely anyone gives a shit. Not my intention to knock the game, probably is a good game to play, but the number of game owners just screams niche game compared to some of the other games, plus it is from Japan and as mentioned, japanese developers seem to be scrutinized way more by Sony. Going after a true heavyweight like Cyberpunk that will be popular as hell after The Witcher 3 was one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, from a polish developer that is much less likely to just obediently swallow such a bitter pill, would be entirely different in terms of backlash. With the modding potential of the PC, consoles have already a harder stance with games like this to begin with.

WTF DMC5 is a very well known pure action game series from Capcom that started on ps2. Millions of people watched the very first reveal trailer of dmc5! There were lots of articles about the censorship after the patch came out as well. Game owners on this website is not true number because they sold millions of the game not only 30k looool

The only time people care about violence in video games is when something bad happens and they’re blamed for it.

I am aware that dmc5 sold more games than the ones shown here, believe it or not. The numbers seem to have increased a lot since my last check though, with almost 2 million being a good number and not really a niche game anymore. Still nowhere near actual heavyweight games like The Witcher 3 that sold way over 10 million games. Mortal Kombat X, with close to 11 million copies also makes Dmc5 look like a smaller game in comparison. The censorship backlash seemed to go away very quickly too, I only saw it for a few days before it almost completely died down and it seemingly had no impact on the games sales.

1 and 2*

Resistance 1 was necessary because the server shutdown removed game updates (not the same system as 99.9% of PS3 games) and DLC maps were totally playable offline in splitscreen... the digital version is fully updated to support rumble and screenshot capture, too. And thankfully the savegames are still compatible.

I wonder why they never did the same with the digital version of MGS4 or MotorStorm 1 (this one is still online game updates-wise and no digital, though)

If video games make kids violent then why do they keep losing fist fights against me! 👊

First world's double moral standard and a legion of SJW crybabies. The same reason why i get my nephews out of my room when playing something crude and bloody like Mortal Kombat, GTA or God of War. The labels in the front of the games are there for a reason. Laughable. They are scared of a half naked body in a digital screen but they don't bat an eye about the daily violence in the country or the rest of the planet. I wonder about their opinion if they see the daily news in any major Mexico city.

The main reason is because sexual stuff is a bad influence on children and they will act on it.

Murder, on the other  hand, cannot be taught. It requires a special type of individual who is capable of it.

This video sums it up pretty well imo. Of course, opinions differ, but take a look at this one.

Amount of people that blame SJW's is scary, but i'll be an optimist and assume that you're all misinformed, because this is a site for trophies overall and not fans of MK.

I always figured that we don't see what happens at Sony's customer service. They could be receiving a ton of angry calls/letters from dumb parents about the nudity in the games they purchased for their child. This seems to happen mostly to popular series often bought for "young people."

Ya theres an M on the front of the game for a reason,  if they dont want theyre kids seeing some titties then dont buy them a rated M game

They've already said: "#metoo" and other such irrelevant crap.

Murder cannot be taught? Seriously? And rape is not a violent act in the same way I guess? Thinking "Sexual stuff" is a bad influence but mutilation not is just...wow, there are no words.

It's a double standard that is getting rather annoying. If you look at the female designs in MK11, their stomach and legs are even covered up while guys like Shao Kahn and Kotal Kahn have those areas exposed. I'm not surprised though as this is trend with most Western developers.

haha, this thread made me realize the odd logic that current society seems to promote...sexualizing women = discrimination therefore is bad...murder, on the other hand, is fine as long as it's universal...meaning you need to be able  to brutally slaughter everyone, no exceptions...inclusiveness at its best...

the devs should troll the world a bit and make a white american male character that cannot be killed who says stuff like "grab her by the ovary" and "not on my land" when performing a fatality...oh, the outrage that would ensue...haha...

Yes, there is a M on the cover. Parents don't look. Parent Advisory anybody? So I work with about 100 people. Many mom's with young children 6-10. So I asked not to long ago what they play on their PS4 out of curiosity.  MKX, GTAV, Witcher, etc. They couldn't remember the names fully so I had to piece it together. Not a clue what's in these games, and have picked on me for playing on a kids toy (PS4). 😆

They get them for bday/holiday/allowance, kid chooses. Keeps them quiet. Nowadays its skins for Fort-something... though this week one told me her son(9) pre-ordered MK11 and if I knew anything about it. 🤔 I told her I wish they were serious about putting Shaggy in the line up.

So, I figured if they walk in and actually look when one of "those" scenes is playing... somebody's getting an angry phone call.

Murder and rape can both be taught and both require a special type of individual who is capable of it.
That reason is daft because sexual stuff is in M rated games, if one is to buy an M rated game or film or whatever for a child, it is on the parent and not at the fault of anyone else and so censoring adult target audience media because of children is plain idiotic.
