Nothing too completed or difficult and is a cheap easy set of trophies. However, the PS4 is VERY buggy on various trophies. I needed to repeat level 22, 5 times and level 28 3 times before their respective trophies unlocked. No bugs at all on the PSVita version. Overall 4/10 enjoyment with a 2/10 for difficultly
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #120: Velocity Ultra (October 17th, 2017) Difficulty: 6/10 Excitement: 8.5/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 10 Hours A fun, terrific indie shoot-em-up game from UK based developer FuturLab Games. You control a Quarp jet, a teleport spacecraft that can boost through outer space and defeat enemies. Enemies are defeated using lasers or bombs, which are controlled either using the circle button or by flinging the right control stick in a given direction. Bombs can travel in four different directions, essentially the same as the d-pad shape. Enemies range from stationary turrets to lone ships to ships in a formation, there are various types of ships that have slightly different attacks. Enemies travel through the screen in a Galaga like fashion, and destroying a whole formation usually nets a weapon refill upgrade. There are a few weapon upgrades that greatly increase your firepower. The main objective is to rescue all possible survivors in a level. Velocity Ultra starts off simple, with the game giving you new options and abilities as it progresses. Boosting is almost always necessary, especially if you are trying to perfect a level. Perfecting a level requires not only to not die, rescue all survivors and destroy all ships and turrets. You also have to collect every health icon and weapon upgrade you can find, because those also increase your score. Destroying the glass that usually encases the survivors is also required to get a perfect. This can be quite a challenge on later levels. One of the unique aspects of this game are the telepods. These are items that you can teleport back to an earlier part of the level. You will start to come across switches that trap survivors behind a force field. You are required to hit these switches in the right order in order to lower the forcefield and collect the survivors. Later on this gets quite tricky as switches are placed out of order. Essentially the game becomes a puzzle as you often have to backtrack and throw down several telepods in order to hit the switches in the right order. Switches are locked behind other switches that have to be hit first. Unfortunately if you hit a switch in the incorrect order, all the switches you hit prior of that given color (Blue, Red, Orange, Green, Purple) will reset and come back on. Muscle memory is key to beating these levels are earning a perfect. Velocity Ultra feels like a modern take on old 1980s shooters that were common in the arcade. The game definitely offers a little bit of challenge, not too easy not too hard. Perfecting all the levels takes practice, but personally I didn't find any of them too hard except for Level 50. Level 50 puts your skills to the test as you essentially have to boost your entire way through the level while hitting switches in quick fashion and collecting all the survivors. It's definitely hard as it's a very fast paced level. These sets of levels are called Critical Urgency zones. They are fast paced, often difficult levels that require good knowledge of the layout and good reflexes. I didn't find any of them too hard, but I can definitely see how they can cause trouble for many. In addition to the main game there are minigames. Most of these aren't anything special, though they are a homage to old classics like Space Invaders. There is a Lunar Landing minigame that caused me a bit of frustration. But it wasn't anything a bit of practice couldn't do. Thankfully they are quick to finish, none of them were very challenging. Minesweeper was frustrating until I realized the rules of the game. I'm not exactly sure why Futurlab Games decided to put Minesweeper into this game, but I suppose it was something to do inbetween perfect runs of the levels. All in all, Velocity Ultra is a great game to have. It's not an overly difficult platinum but it definitely offers some challenge, which is always nice to have. If you own a PS3 or a Vita and want a great space shooter game, don't pass this one up. It's definitely worth the purchase price.

Popular Post Stardroid
Heroes of Gaia When I heard that my childhood favourite game had gotten a PS4 released bundled with a PS4 theme, a bunch of avatars and a trophy list, I was immediately sold. Being someone who really enjoys challenging trophy lists I was very excited to go for the challenge. Unfortunately, that excitement died soon when I realised you could activate 9999 permadamage, speedhack, no encounter mode and battle assistance. Truth be told, I made use of them too because I'm not going to spend 5 times the amount of in game playtime to get the same shiny trophy. But, I thought to myself, there is one trophy that is hard and is the 1000 jump rope challenge. It took me two days to finally do. Proud of having done it, I synced my profile and saw it was already at 5% rarity. I couldn't believe it, it is in fact challenging. Turns out people are cheating the trophy en masse, which just was the final nail in the coffin for me for this game's trophies. Ah yes, it was at that moment that I realised a lot of gamers, if given the opportunity, will just cheat their trophies if they can get away with it. Using the ingame cheats is fine, I did it too, it's a major grind and even with the extra speed, it still takes a huge amount of time. Using software outside of the game to obtain the most difficult trophy that also isn't affected by ingame cheats is something else entirely. Then we had the dumbest trophy I have ever gotten which is like a 15 hour grind non stop of killing enemies for the Bloodlust trophy (10000 kills). Suffice to say, getting the trophies wasn't that great, mostly due to scumbag people with no moral compass. Luckily, it was a great trip down memory lane and I fully enjoyed the story, music and charming atmosphere. Although being older, the game sure seemed a lot darker than I remember.

Popular Post Nauticus87
#177 - LEGO Harry Potter (Years 1-4) I haven't read the books in a good long time so this was a bit tough to follow. I think I prefer the newer LEGO games with voice acting. Thankfully I avoided the glitches, just a few crashes here and there and the occasional bug, such as having to restart a level because the AI Hagrid managed to get stuck inside a mushroom. #178 - Grim Legends 2: Song Of The Dark Swan Another one on sale and promptly platted. Have to saw, the hidden object puzzles in this one were heavily focused on the 'find x' such as 'find 10 apples' rather than their usual fare. There was one sound effect I remember thinking 'oh, this is different'. Good times. The facial animations continue to give me nightmares. #179 - Titan Souls My new second rarest platinum at 2.20% (interestingly, if ordered by achievers this is my 44th rarest - guess that's because it was given for free on PS+) What a rush this was. Frustratingly difficult at times but when you finally got that perfect shot it was so exhilarating. I'm pretty sure I fist-pumped the air on more than one occasion.
Popular Post scarishbal
#143 - LEGO Ninjago Movie: The Videogame This game. It was just fantastic. Oddly enough this game was refreshing with new mechanics but felt a lot like the old LEGO games. The new mechanics/gameplay which were introduced was having the story take place in the hub worlds, so there was no going back and playing every level twice. Also with combat, attacking was seamless where you could attack one enemy then jump and hurl yourself at another enemy. But it wasn't too hard to keep your combo going. What made it feel like the older games was the collectables. You don't have to jump through so many hoops trying to collect things. Sure there was some tricky jumps but a lot of the gold bricks were just lying around. I think there was only one or two times you had to destroy certain objects that were scattered around the levels.

Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #121 Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (October 25th, 2017) Difficulty: 7.5/10 Excitement: 8.5/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 25 - 30 Hours Didn't have a proper platinum image. An excellent but flawed top down shooter picking up where the last Hotline Miami left off. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is probably the platinum I own that I respect the most. This game doesn't screw around when it comes to difficulty, it's definitely harder than the first game and I recommend people to play through the first game before diving into this one. One of the most noticeable changes in this sequel that stands out is the scoring system. The way you rack up your score and obtain A+/S ranks in a given level (called scenes in Hotline Miami 2) is completely different than in the first game. Whereas in the original you could rack up a high score and combo by using doors and executions to your advantage, here in the sequel doors and executions are your worst enemy. Doors will knock enemies down, which might be a good thing if you're just casually playing through the game, but they are counterproductive for players working to score A+ (you have to score at least double the number of points you see at the results screen). Doors wreck combos, and executions take far longer in this game. Many of the scenes are best played by using guns, since more enemies here have guns of their own that can easily kill you. Those who expected a similar scoring system to be in Hotline Miami 2 will probably be disappointed. I can't stress this enough that Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a difficult game. Getting through the levels normally is difficult enough, but scoring A+ in all the scenes which is required to earn a gold trophy adds a new layer of stress. This game is stressful. You will definitely feel frustrated going for the platinum in this. Beating the game once unlocks Hard mode, a mode in which the difficulty is set to Hard and all the levels are inverted. One of the factors that makes Hotline Miami 2 frustrating is the amount of windows placed throughout the game. Normal mode has plenty of windows from which enemies can shoot you through with their guns. Hard mode adds more windows which makes for a tedious peak a boo experience. Getting through all 24 scenes in Hard mode is going to require a lot of practice and time spent memorizing enemy patterns. You will die, A LOT. In fact dying is the only true way to learn about this game. It's punishing, but very rewarding when you finally push through and beat a difficult section. Hotline Miami 2 has various enemy types. There are the normal enemies which can be killed by guns and melee. Dogs make their appearance again and are much quicker to attacking you. Fat enemies called Thugs can only be killed by guns, unless the character you're playing has melee fists that kill enemies, in which case they fall down and you must execute them for the kill. Some enemies late in the game can only be killed by melee weapons. You cannot melee them with your fists, throw a weapon at them nor use guns since they will just duck your bullets. Hard mode puts these special types of enemies earlier in the levels, though that is to be expected. There are various patrolling enemies and stationary enemies, both requiring different strategies. While the melee weapons were mostly fine (the knife is overall the best weapon, better than the fire axe and pipe due to it's rate of attack), the guns are completely unbalanced. Shotguns are often the weapon of choice for many players, and they can actually be used to pick off enemies from a long distance. However due to their slow rate of fire, they are not good for killing several enemies at once. The AK-47 can mow down several enemies at once, and can kill a Thug in his tracks in four shots, or slowly bleed out with 1 - 3 bullets. I found certain weapons like the Magnum and regular pistol to be mostly worthless, since it's difficult to aim at a far away enemy and score a shot. Targeting is the same as in Hotline Miami 1, but it is removed entirely in Hard mode. You are required to aim in a general direction to kill enemies. The story was interesting, but wasn't entirely necessary for Hotline Miami 2. You play several characters in this one, each with their own story. A couple characters can only be played in flashback sequences, so not all characters are played in the same time period. Unfortunately the developers decided to axe certain characters far too early. Among my favorite characters were Tony, Alex & Ash, Martin Brown, The Son and Manny Pardo. Manny is given the most screentime in Hotline Miami 2, with a good amount of levels focusing on him. Martin Brown is only playable in the prologue level and in scene 4. Tony and Alex & Ash are killed off by the end of scene 12. The story is very inconsistent, and ends on a confusing note, which I won't spoil. Hotline Miami 2 is a bit of a unique experience. The atmosphere is unlike any other indie game I've played. Fast, brutal, challenging, satisfying and rad. The Hotline Miami 2 Soundtrack is absolutely superb from start to finish. Utterly fantastic and heart pumping especially when I was in the middle of a big combo. Most of the trophies are pretty straightforward, although the Genocide trophy for killing 50,000 enemies is a bit of a grind. I A+ all the scenes in Normal Mode and beaten Hard Mode with a little bit of trouble here and there. After two playthroughs I still needed to grind Genocide for about three hours before the trophy popped. Pretty annoying, but not difficult. I would not recommend playing this around kids. There is blood and gore, and lots of it. Heads are chopped off, guts are sticking out and body parts are chopped off. I suppose this game was technically my "Halloween" platinum, as there was lots of violence to be had. But Hotline Miami 2 was a very satisfying experience from start to finish. Do not skip this game because it's hard. It's definitely hard. It's definitely challenging and rather frustrating at times. But it's a terrific game from Dennation Games, most certainly an indie gem that holds up well as a sequel. I recommend playing the first game in order to get adjusted to the controls. You're going to need to "get good" in order to earn the platinum. -------- P.S. - As a little side project, I decided to throw in the characters of Hotline Miami 1 and 2 for my banner. Not completely finished, as I have to do some editing and testing in Photoshop. Want to add two more characters to the banner before I'm done. Popular Post GarciaFever
@Pikachu I'm glad you had fun with Claire #175 South Park: Fractured But Whole Damn this was such an awesome game. I liked how they included things such as the member berries and Tweek and Craig's relationship counseling to where you have to beat up "expectations" lol. I only had 2 instances where the game acted up. The first was during my normal blind playthrough, where after playing with the economic wheel at the bank, the game crashed on me, but luckily I didn't lose any saved data. The second was on my Mastermind playthrough where, after completing a certain story-related battle and had to use one of the selfie pics that I took, the character didn't appear on the screen, so I couldn't do anything and had to load up a previous save to fix this. Also, I don't know why this wasn't included in the trophy guide, but there is a way to "track" where all of the Yaoi pics are located. After you have unlocked Stan's sandblaster ability, go to Bebe's basement and use it on the generator, which will bring up a map of South Park, and it will be covered with a bunch of orange flowers: Lastly, I don't know if anyone else managed to get the steelbook edition, but how do you go about in using Towelie as your gaming buddy? I screwed up when it came to downloading the bonus stuff. I went to input the code in the PSN Store, it accepted the code, and rather than click on Download, I selected Enter Another Code, and entered the code for South Park: Stick of Truth. So now I got the Stick of Truth game downloaded, but when I try to download the Season's pass and Towelie content, the store says I already purchased it. Popular Post TheLordBishop
Just found out about this site and said to myself why not brag a bit? Here are my Platinums since I bought the PS4 8 months ago. Used to be an XBox player, but I'm loving PS4 even more (the trophy system is great and getting a Plat is sooo satisfying!). #1 Plat Horizon Zero Dawn Enjoyment: 9 Difficulty: 2 Still marveling at dem graphics o.o great story and background that needs to be explored in further titles! #2 Plat Nier: Automata Enjoyment: 9 Difficulty: 3 Loved the story, soundtrack (still listening to it after months) and the different types of gameplay. Didn't like the farming for rare items. But still a blast. #3 Plat Life Is Strange Enjoyment: 8 Difficulty: 1 Excellent story, maybe a bit too confusing in the last chapter. Got very emotional at the end of ch. 3. Waiting for the prequel to get a discount! #4 Plat Uncharted The Lost Legacy Enjoyment: 8 Difficulty: 3 Would have rated enjoyment higher but had to replay it three times, it was starting to get on my nerves. Chloe and Nadine have a great chemistry - and loved the addition of that third character #5 Plat Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back Enjoyment: 7,5 Difficulty: 7 Had really a hard time working some relics. The game is fantastic - I'm just a low-average platformer Literally jumped and hugged my friend as I finally beat Hangin' Out's gold time. F**k that level haha #6 Plat Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped Enjoyment: 8 Difficulty: 4 After completing the aforementioned CB2, I breezed through the game and did the relics almost always at first try. Not even trying to complete the first in the trilogy haha. #7 Plat Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Enjoyment: 9 Difficulty: 3,5 The game is magnificent. Tweaks come in handy, too. Loved it. Almost broke the controller whilst speedrunning haha. Proceeding now with some clean-up; my next Plat will probably be Tearaway Unfolded, let's see!

The game itself has 14 levels where you battle your way through different types of enemies (bullies) with some boss fights. Its 8bit looking done in the style of Renegade from the mid 80s. I found the game fun up until around level 13 were the shear number of bullies to kill and the limited health made the game somewhat frustrating. BTW... don't be fooled by the high platinum rate, only a few have played this game and while its not very hard is by no means a walk in the park if your like me and not brilliant at beatem ups.
