Popular Post X_Wizi_X
#142 God of War As I always do when a game has an important story behind, I tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible and so, when I started GoW, I knew nothing about the game . Now, as several players still have to play it, I will avoid going into too much detail and spoil things. I must have missed something from the final scene of GoW 3, because I wasn't expecting an intro like that or at least some explanation in the middle. I carried on that chagrin for about 9-10 hours while playing and my brother @sephiroth4424 knows something, right? ? This time, however, I made a BIG mistake: I was in too much of a hurry to judge. My fault The game is amazing in its whole. Some random thoughts: - The story is easily a 10/10, maybe more. Forget the Nordic mythology. In my opinion tha's only a secondary thing. Here we talk about a father and son, their relationship and how to grow together, through mistakes and improving it. It was from The Last of Us that I haven't played a story such full of emotions. Absolutely fantastic. My favourite scenes were (do not read if you haven't played the game), highlight if you wanna read them: - When Kratos literally destroyed with rage Magni's face when he insulted his wife (so fucking hype in that moment) - The whole journey to retrieve the Blades of Chaos, with Athena on the boat first and then inside the house - When Atreus had become a dickhead for a while after learning he was a God. I wanted to throw my axe on him haha. Very well written from authors... - When and from I met Mimir. That guy is great - The Valkyries - And obviously the final scene of the Ashes - I don't like much the Nordic Mythology. I still prefer the Greek Mythology. - Switching from pure hack and slash genre to a linear RPG system was an excellent choice imo. Because I like rpgs. - I found the fight vs Queen Sigrun a pain in the ass. Maybe I'm too old to play videogames or maybe I'm too old for this genre of games because I no longer have the patience or the will to learn the patterns of the enemies, what moves they do, when to avoid or parry and, in general, all the fighting/close up/ that require patience. In fact, I think that Devil May Cry series will be my last games of that genre. Popular Post DamagingRob
#427- Fallout 4 Platinum Trophy Collect all other 50 Trophies for this Trophy So, basically, you and your family get cryogenically frozen in an underground vault, after a war with a bunch of nuclear bombs happens. You can choose to play as the husband or wife, and the other one will never make it out of the vault.. Your son, Shaun, is kidnapped and one of the parents murdered in the process. After the other is finally released from their pod, so begins the journey into the outside world to find your son. A world in ruins, filled with radiation and mutated creatures. Godspeed, sir or madam. The game is packed with content. So many locations to discover, sidequests to find, and multiple endings. If I did every single thing, I would still be playing it. But it was just too much, and I ignored a lot of the side content. I did do everything in the Far Harbor DLC. Smaller map and more contained, so it didn't feel as overwhelming. If I didn't hit 100 hours of playtime, I came pretty damn close. Just like Fallout 3, I found myself completely addicted to it from start to finish. The gameplay is mostly an FPS. Or you can change the view to third person. And you basically explore and shoot stuff. The creatures in the game are pretty creepy and well detailed (the world in general is pretty breathtaking, tbh). Giant bugs, scropions, mole rats, two-headed animals, and ghouls (which are like, zombified people) are among the things you will encounter. I hate ghouls. Lol. I turned the corner in an underground tunnel with them, and one was right there in my face! Scared the shit out of me, and I had to stop and pause the game. :/ They also fling themselves at you from a ridiculous distance. Tons of guns. But your ammo is often limited. Unless you make a bunch of money and buy a huge surplus. Which I ended up doing once I got the Spray 'n Pray, because that gun is ridiculously overpowered. Before I got it, I would just use whatever weapon I had the most ammo for. Weapons and armor can be bought from shops, or found in chests/on killed enemies. You can take a companion with you, and their opinion of you can go up or down, depending on what you do while they're around. If it's raised high enough, you can get their unique sidequest, and raising it even more after that can result in... romance. They can sometimes do things you can't, too, depending on what skills you buy. Need to pick a high level lock, but don't have a high enough skill? Well, Cait can give Jill a run for her money. Meanwhile, Nick can hack high level terminals. These were probably the two I liked and used the most, so even better. There's also settlement building, which I didn't spend a whole lot of time with. But you can build all kinds of things if you have the materials. Materials are found all over the place, and can be stored at a settlement's workshop. Along with anything else you don't want to carry. Which is good, because you will fill that inventory, trust me. And you don't want to be overencumbered forever, slowly walking everywhere you go. That mechanic (and radiation) can be annoying for me, at times. I've slowly walked through some places, dropped everything outside, and made a few fast travel trips back and forth to get everything. I see something I can pick up, and I do so. :/ Radiation is another game mechanic, where your health bar turns orange. Any part of it that is orange, is basically showing what health you don't have until you remove it. Can be somewhat annoying if you keep having to heal it, either with items or at a doctor. Healing health is much easier. I had more stimpacks than I knew what to do with. You have an ability that slows down time, and lets you fire off critical shots at enemies. Sometimes, the Mysterious Stranger will appear, too. I don't know if he always one-hit-kills, but it seemed like it. And then you have Power Armor, which makes you really hard to kill. But also requires a type of energy to use, draining over time. The DLCs weren't much to write home about, other than two of them. The other four only added a little bit of content, and were very short. Two just had you build things. But two were proper expansions, and added new areas with quite a bit of content. Though both had at least one thing that wasn't the greatest. Far Harbor with its weird puzzle missions, and Nuka-World with its 100,000 tickets.. Though the latter is made so much easier by doing this. Why that method isn't in the trophy guides baffles me. "Shoot the targets over and over and over..." Thankfully, one of my friends on Discord mentioned that, or I would have done the entire grind the hard way. And it wouldn't be a Bethesda game without bugs, right? Crashing really started to pick up towards the end. And I compiled a short video of some of the ones I experienced: Spoiler Yes, I did end the video with a Cait one liner, what of it? The bugs weren't enough to kill my enjoyment too much, though. Game frequently autosaves, too, so crashes weren't huge setbacks. I don't know if there's anything else. I did highly enjoy my time with this one, though, and highly recommend it. Was worth every penny I paid for it. Not sure why I never got hooked on Elder Scrolls, but Fallout seems to be my jam. Will I play 76? Platinum image: Spoiler

In terms of content/ quests and special locations, those games are quite a bit better than F4. If graphics dont bother you ( they were mediocre even back in 2010) there is absolutely no reason to ignore them. Of course they might be a bit buggy ( well its bethesda ?) from time to time but always worth to be played. I have played 3 to completion on another platform, so I don't know if I'd want to do it again. Popular Post WayfarerFox
#144 - DOOM (2016) + 100% Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 After playing some long winded games recently, Warframe, Destiny etc. I decided to take a plunge onto Doom because a friend persuaded me into it. Heard the DLC would take long but apparently the devs I don't know if it was on purpose or by accident have left on Double XP constantly. Making it really really easy to level up in the MP. You do have to Echelon 8 so thats level 50 8 times. The first time it took about 3-4 hours to get to Echelon one but then it's easy sailing when you equip Bounty rune and just play. I think on average it took about 2 and a half hours to do an echelon after that. Don't be put off by the multiplayer sounding like a lot. All the DLC trophies are easy to do and all are free and it's actually got a lot of game modes that make it really fun. Just watch out for the double shotgun people online.? Other than that the Campaign is a lot of fun and really easy, just make sure to have a collectible guide with you as you go through it. I suggest that as well as it makes the playthrough minimum and all of the collectibles do actually give you stuff to power up! For the Rune challenges and weapon challenges abuse the load checkpoint. You can get kills and then restart checkpoint and they all count towards it so a little tip there. This game is just fun, it's fast it's gory its just really really fun and a nice change of pace to what I've been playing recently. I did want to do it before the new one came out as well and thankfully it's all done now. If you need any information regarding the game send a message! Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #370: Final Fantasy VIII Lionheart Obtain all trophies Hoo boy, where do I start? Final Fantasy VIII has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, but for the love of God, I don't know why. To say the game has plot holes is the grossest understatement. In actuality, the plot is one giant crater with a few islands to leap between. What a confused mess of a story, and it never gets better. Plot lines are dropped throughout the game (yet again will I recall the NORG episode), and the ultimate baddie (whose name, Ultimecia, tells you that she's the ultimate baddie) is given zero motivation whatsoever. People like to talk about the ridiculous Necron of FFIX, but he is no worse than the sorceress who just wants to be bad. Gameplay is messy as well. The Junction mechanic isn't a terrible idea, but the Draw mechanic is. I think the (overpowered) card mods were put in place because the whole thing was so nonsensical. Add to that the random items necessary to build weapons, the fact that enemies level with you (and, if you're not careful, level more efficiently than you), and you just have a huge glob of silliness. Oh, by the way, did you know that Bahamut's Rare Item ability actually makes it impossible to get some rare items? Well, now you do! Did I mention the random side quests, many of which you are given absolutely no notification for? My all time favorite is the Obel Lake quest. If you just happen to move to a certain spot on the overworld, and push the X button a few times, someone will tell you some nonsense about a monkey. You can find the monkey, but only if you skipped a rock on a lake "many, many times". When you find the monkey, he gives you a stone with random letters, If you run around the world map, you can find three more stones like this. If you read the stones in a certain way, you are directed to a place where, again, if you push the X button for no discernible reason, rocks will talk to you. There are 4 total rocks, and every one of them says nonsense. However, the red rock always lies, so if you do the opposite of what it says, you can find...a completely useless item. And the quest goes on! I remember when this game came out, Time magazine had an article about it. One of the big things they cited was the ability to move your character through some cut scenes. You can do this, and most of the time, it looks hilarious. You just run around like a chicken with its head cut off. But occasionally, you absolutely HAVE to move through scenes, or else it's game over. And speaking of annoying game ends, what about that minigame battle against the Galbadian soldier? God - I hate that thing. And yet, despite these many flaws, I still irrationally enjoy playing this game. It's not the best FF, by a LONG shot, but here is the absolute, 100% logical FF ranking: Final Fantasy VI (III on SNES) Final Fantasy IV (II on SNES) Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy XII Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy V Final Fantasy VIII Final Fantasy X-2 Final Fantasy Final Fantasy II Final Fantasy XIII Final Fantasy XIII-2 Final Fantasy III Lightning Returns Given that I enjoy all of titles 1 through 11 on that list, that's not a terrible ranking. Plus, FF VIII comes in 8th on the list. Amazing! But anyway, I would caution newcomers to playing this title. It hasn't aged well at all, and honestly, it probably wasn't that good to begin with. But it is one of the few games where you have pretty good control over your character advancement; if you wait out leveling until you get Cactuar, you can build some great stats quickly. And if you're patient with card mods, or item collections, angelo searching, etc., you can max out your characters as well, which is kind of fun.
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #476: Apocalipsis - The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil Difficulty: 2.5/10 Playtime: 2-3 hours Enjoyment: 6/10 Esoteric point 'n' click adventurer about a guy named Harry (episodically pronounced "Whorey" by a janky sounding narrator) who travels to the end of the world to save his wife who was wrongfully(?) executed for dabbling in that wicked old black magic. His quest is fraught with disturbing sights such as desecrated corpses, eight-headed birds, and a pope skeleton. Needless to say... Hellblade, this is not. Its distinctive woodcut aesthetic is roughly its only claim to fame, but even that is marred by entry level Macromedia Flash movement animation. Sometimes the atmosphere can be effective, especially with its near-complete lack of dialogue, but that too is undercut by there being about four pieces of short background music loops in total. On the whole the art direction is inept, cheap, and listless. How cool wouldn't the game look if it were combined with the stark frame-by-frame animation of, say (its compatriot in dull mediocrity) The Mooseman? I will give them some credit for cleverly recontextualizing the game's events in the two bonus chapters, though. The game plays fine when you're just pointing and clicking, even if any level of interaction beyond puzzle solving is nonexistent. However, every now and then it tries to switch things up with more kinetically driven gameplay, which isn't much fun at all as poorly implemented as it is. These segments are of course tied to trophies, which creates the kind of frustration that is the last thing I want out of an adventure game. The puzzle solutions themselves are fairly obvious until they're not. There is no middle ground that rewards you for being just about clever enough here. It's either use-thing-on-thing, or work out a tricky and opaque time-based snake tooth puzzle, which is a roundabout way of telling you just to consult a guide because it's just as much fun. I'm a generous guy, and possessing immense respect for the difficulty involved with just getting a game off the ground, I would usually rate this game a 6/10 despite its flaws. However, situations like areas not loading their graphical elements and my character climbing a series of invisible ladders leading offscreen are a dime a dozen. This ain't a 30+ hour open world game, guys. You're better than leaving buggy crap like this in a short two to three hour game... right? Ultimately, the game's heart is in the right place, but it lacks artisanship, confidence and follow-through. The $4.99 price point isn't bad for what you're getting, though, and doing the stack as a guide-assisted speedrun was more fun than playing it blind. Recommended for trophy hunters and few if anybody else.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#420 - Donut County After having played it, I still don't get what the hype over this is about. Its an OK game, but that's pretty much it. While the sucking up things with the hole, may seem original at first, it essentially is just a reversed Katamari game. yes, it's satusfying, but that's hardly enough to make this game good. Furthermore it's way too shrot, barely scratching the 2 hour mark. Enjoyment: 6 Difficulty: 2

So i dedicated the whole month on it! I played B1 for the first time and used the cross-save feature for TPS and B2. Now that i have the whole picture, i can easily say that the best game is B2 and the worst is B1. TPS is close to B2. Some of the things i didn't like in B1: no story, no humor, no mini-map, missions didn't show on areas when you used fast travel. It also has by far the worst and most boring dlc in the series (Moxxi's Underdome) and in general the dlcs were annoying because they had no fast travel station. Especially in Knoxx's Armory i spent more time travelling than playing. I used Lilith and although the beginning was challenging, everything became easier when i got a Legendary Volcano from a quest reward. I'm skeptical about getting the ps4 version (i also read about the crashes in the arenas), but i probably will for completion reasons. As for B2 and TPS, using cross-save i was able to avoid completing all challenges and uncovering every inch of the maps, so i had a good time replaying story and side missions. I hope Borderlands 3 will be as good as those two
Popular Post sunnydaleAlumni
Maitetsu: Pure Station Root Letter Last Answer Completed two visual novels in the past week. Enjoyed them both! Maitetsu: Pure Station had a sweet story & beautiful soundtrack...I have to admit when I bought in the shop the description only said mild language, quickly figured out it was a bit more than that lol (they've since changed it) But still a really nice vn. Enjoyed the story about the trains, the town & the characters. Root Letter Last Answer is the remake of Root Letter which I loved & Last Answer, imho, was just as good. The changes made the game much easier to follow the story & I enjoyed the 'live action' characters. Really made it fun. Love all the endings just like in the original, the crazier the better. Popular Post EIdain
Platinum #45 - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt The Limits of the Possible It only took me 4 years 8 months, but I finally got around to doing a death march play-through and achieving this one. It took me the course of a year to beat it the first time, so the length of the game was putting me off playing through it again, but I'm so glad I did. From a technical standpoint it's a little rough around the edges in some parts (makes me a little glad Cyberpunk got delayed so hopefully it's a bit more polished), yet it's still miles ahead of Bethesda's RPGs in that department. Everything else it nails; great writing, characters, world building, soundtrack, acting, quests, and although not perfect I really enjoy the combat too. Still my favourite game. Period. From a trophy hunting standpoint it was a super satisfying and fun platinum to get - minus a few moments where I was worried a missable trophy might glitch. Everything can be done in one play-through if you wish. On the hardest difficulty it strikes a really good balance between a good challenge, yet not feeling like your smashing your head against a wall in frustration. Other than how long it takes to beat none of the trophies were a boring grind for me either, even the 50 crossbow headshot kills can be done in 40~ minutes. Really good trophy list imo.Difficulty: 7/10Enjoyment: 10/10Playtime: Platinum play-through was 60~ hours. Although I've probably put in over 100 hours on an earlier save as well as the DLC. Popular Post Yechan
Platinum #180 - Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception Grandmaster Visual novel with strategy battles. I've been reading a lot of light novel recently so I got hook when I revisited this game. Great story and characters and I can't wait to finish the next game: Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth! According to Howlongtobeat.com, the average time to beat just the main story is 31 hours while it's 54 hours for completionists. I didn't skip anything but I did have the text and battle animation speed at the fastest setting so I ended up finishing the main story at around 20 hours. It took me around another 8ish hours to get the platinum trophy for a total of around 28 hours. A good estimate is probably 30-50ish hours but if you're familiar with strategy games and read fast then it might only take you 20-30ish hours!
