Popular Post WayfarerFox
#158 - Assassin's Creed Syndicate Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment 9/10 This game is so much fun. This time set in London in the Victorian-era. During the Industrial revolution this time. You play as two assassin's Evie and Jacob Frye, twins. First of all, these two are really great characters have great chemistry with themselves and with other characters. It doesn't feel awkward like AC Unity was. So two assasin's who are great at different things. Evie is the thinker, the brainbox and also the ninja, She's lighter, makes less noise and is the better "Assassin" so to speak. Jacob is still great at it but he's more of a doer than a think. He'll act first then ask questions. His traits are he's an absolute powerhouse in battle. He doesn't let his emotions jeopardise the missions. He's cocky and arrogant but in a funny way. I think they wrote him really well honestly. Gameplay wise it's not much different than Unity but there are some different things which make it better and overall it is smoother. You get carriages in this game, so instead of running everywhere or waiting a while in fast travel points you can just drive around. You also, get a hook added onto your hidden blade pretty early so you can go around the map ziplining which makes it much more fun to travel. Not only that, it makes doing some sections pretty easy when trying to infiltrate with stealth etc. So in all honesty it's a lot of fun. Combat is a lot more fluid and there are more options to use stuff in battle and break defences. Varied weaponry as well which made combos different, some quicker, deadlier etc etc. Customisation is great in this to. It was great seeing slang you'd only really see in the UK as well, so when they were saying stuff it made it a little bit funnier to someone like me cause I understood it completely. This time it wasn't a glorified Romeo and Juliet sim but rather just mayhem. It was great, some of the missions were brilliant and the characters were just more nutty than anyone else. Satisfying ending as well I guess. Would of been nice to see more of Jacob and Evie after the events of the main game. Before the Ripper DLC I mean. Ripper DLC is actually a lot of fun. Mainly play as Evie but you get to play as Jack the ripper as well and the couple of stuff they added in like fear bombs and brutal combos were brilliant editions as well. Thought it was kinda mad though that Evie was only 41 in the game yet she looked like she was in her mid 70s in some points of the game. It's a great DLC honestly, not much you can really say without spoiling it but it was great regardless. I personally think this game is underrated in the AC series. I think it just came out at a time where everyone was a little fed up with AC and the formula of it all you know? I think if they released this game later or changed it to match the gameplay of Origins then maybe it would get the recognition a bit more. It's a great, fun game that should definitely be played if you're a fan of the series. Platinum wasn't difficult at all really. You literally do the main missions and completing their challenges and then clear the Burroughs really while collecting specific collectibles and a ton of chests for materials where you can craft better gear for your characters, upgrade your gang, upgrade your equipment So it felt meaningful to actually collect stuff this time.

The game is just so massive and took all my free time away. Still in my top 3 games ever. I'm really going to miss Geralt of Rivia because this is the last time for sure. Nice. Congrats! Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 168! Final Fantasy VII Remake Master of fate This remake is a masterpiece! Everything is perfect: the dialogues, all the extra stories about the other characters, the soundtrack (of course! But this one is a beast: 7 CDs!); also the minigames aren't boring like the ones in KH III (well, except the pulls-up, where I barely reached a 45 vs 44). The hard run isn't really difficult, is just a test of patience, and you surely need to take advantage of the enemies elemental weaknesses (seriously, I had more trouble during my first run normal instead of the second on hard!) and use the prayer+chakra materia in order to save MPs for emergecies (like revival or some spells, whenever you need them). I still have some doubts about the 18th chapter: the first part is the copy of the Xemnas 2nd battle in Kingom Hearts II, while the final battle is simply amazing with the new version of One-winged angel REBIRTH. But the ending seems really open... Who knows what we will see in the other parts, but also when we will see them, and especially where (cross-platfrom PS4 and PS5, or only on PS5?). The Train Graveyard was really amazing with a Resident Evil feeling (a bit creepy and sad... Especially for the children story ?) And during your NG+ you can have a couple of surprises, like the different night dialogue at the beginning of chapter 14, or who joins you in your final battle (in my case, I had Tifa + Barret on normal, then Aerith + Tifa on NG+, and I still don't how it works this choice). Surely the Italian translation is strange: most of the time the Italian texts are completely different from the English voices. I read somewhere that probably the Italian translators used directly the Japanese dialogues, so it should be more "faithful" compared to the English one, but I have a lot of doubts, especially when you ask to someone "Are you hurt?" and you read "no", but the characters says "yes". But the best characters is surely Aerith! Surely she has some of the funniest sequences: - the chair scene at the end of chapter 9 (which is now a meme everywhere, and it became the super powerful weapon! ); - the rusted ladder and the ? phrase in chapter 8; - last (but not least) when she arrives during the final battle: Cloud: "He's tough." Aerith "Yeah, so what? Screw him." Finally the platinum screenshot in Wall Market, after I found all the nine dresses! Popular Post DoctorGameGeek
#14: Castlevania Requiem: Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night Time to complete: ~15 hours Difficulty: 5 / 10 Enjoyment: 8 / 10 Whaaaaat? My first non-JRPG plattie? Yup. I saw this title on the Big in Japan sale and had to get it -- nostalgia and all. I remember trying SotN and giving up on it pretty quickly because the castle game world was just too much for me to take in. Now, mentally, I wanted to give it another go after having finished off Rondo of Blood, which, by the way, was pretty challenging. I had my heart setting on beating the game straight with Richter, only to realize that clunky controls plus a huge hitbox means Ninja Gaiden-style knockback deaths on stage 5. Then, I switched to Maria and just pwned everything. SotN, by comparison, has fluid controls to match the oh-so-delicate way Alucard takes a knockback, cape all flowin' in the wind and such. With (not just) one (but two) giant castle to explore, I thought Alucard could move pretty gracefully, drop down, knock down hidden walls, and such really smoothly -- and even more so with the soul relics. The tradeoff: The game gives no clue of any of the special moves. Sure, you can *buy* spells to look the button sequence to activate them, but they're pricey; and honestly, you will rely much more on melee attacks to win with little foresight than mashing the square key and jumping or backdashing out of the way. It also became daunting at times the way I'd need to go back to area time and time again in case I missed something. So, if you're paranoid about such stuff, grit your fangs and bear it. All in all, combat and exploration make both games gems albeit for very different reasons. My gripes were certainly control-driven in Rondo but less so in Symphony: the inability to sort bags, sell anything but gems. But then you find yourself on the receiving end of a Crissaegrim and, well, let the bloodshed begin! Honestly the best one so far. #49 Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Remastered Felt like a step down from the greatness of Uncharted 2, but still a really good game over all. #50 Yakuza 5 The biggest in the series so far, 200 hours to complete and I really enjoyed it. #51 Lollipop Chainsaw Fun hack and slash game. I thought it was going to be only a cheap fanservice game, but in the end it was really enjoyable and was worth going for the platinum.
Popular Post Conor
#58- GAME OF THRONES: A TELLTALE GAMES SERIES (PS3) Lord of Ironrath Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Time Taken: 1 week, 2 days, 18 hours (20 hours in-game) Rarity: 6.9% Very Rare (PSN) / 38.93% Uncommon (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Er... "Iron from Ice..." Bit of a surprise, this, as I haven't seen much talk about this, even when the show was at its height. The game follows the trials and tribulations- and they are many- of noble House Forrester of Ironrath, a old and proud House of the Northern Kingdom of Westeros who were unfortunate enough to be loyal to the Starks following the Red Wedding. Being subjugated to the Boltons as well as a more favored rival house, the Forresters try to hold their ground and overcome their enemies and prtect their coveted ironwood ... and much like the show during the seasons it takes place in (around the end of Season Three to half of Season Four), it is mostly not a good time for our heroes. The game also follows Gared Tuttle, a squire to the fallen lord of Ironrath in his quest to venture beyond the Wall and find the fabled North Grove. This was the story that held the most promise as it delved deeper into the lore of the ASoIaF universe. The stories in Ironrath and Meereen are also great, though their convergence leads to the most heart-wrenching choice at the end of Episode 5... I'd make the same choice again but it's still a really difficult one to make! The King's Landing arc, despite blessing us the the voice work of Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and Natalie Dormer reprising their roles from the show is easily the worst and most boring of the storylines. It tries to capture the political intrigue of the shows early seasons but just falls flat. Other actors reprising their roles are Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen and Iwan Rheon as Ramsey Snow, who in my opinion steals the show. It actually baffled me how absolutely awful the show characters acted towards your heroes (except for Ramsey, of course, he's just a purely evil little bastard and it's frigging great)! In all, the game is simple as making it through the entire story to get all the trophies. There are severe performance issues in the final episode in particular and it pretty much ruins the intensity of the climactic scenes. I still enjoyed my time with the game and I'm devastated that the story will probably never be concluded. Although, this does give me room to have my own headcanon for what comes next. Maybe... Spoiler Mira is able to escape King's Landing (yes, I sacrificed poor Tom) after killing the scheming Lord Morgryn on their wedding night. Gared and the bastards of Lord Forrester go south towards Hardhome where they are rescued in the battle that takes place there, Gared in disguise so that Jon Snow doesn't recognise him. Beskha and Ryon arrive safely at Riverrun where Bryndyn Tully gives them temporary refuge. Rodrick and Talia plot their revenge on Ludd Whitehill. What happens next... ooh what could have been. With that, I just have one more disc-based Telltale game to get through- Minecraft Story Mode Season One- before I move on the the PS Vita games then PS4. Rarity at the time of posting: 33.31% (UNCOMMON) Phoenix Wright's Ace Attorney series always had a special place in the heart for its great writing and direction, humor, and a great VN. Ever since I played the series way back in 2014 for the first time, I was hooked on it so it was a no-brainer to replay it again on the big screen. Platinum is pretty straight-forward, only some trophies that require you to go out of your way to complete steps were looked upon, otherwise a pretty easy platinum. Popular Post panikooooos
Resistance 3 Enjoyment: 5.5/10 Difficulty: 6/10 So, I'm pretty sure you're all familiar with the Resistance series, these games were best sellers during the ps3 era, and I always thought they had very cool cover art (I have a Resistance 3 poster in my room but only just played the game ) Having only played a bit of Resistance 1, I can't say I understood wtf was happening most of the time but I got the gist of it (aliens come to kill us, Coron- I mean... Chimeran Virus ?). Playing it in 2020, it feels really dated, it's your typical formulaic shooter, some on the rails sections, some forced stealth sections, some "boss fights" here and there. It is an enjoyable experience but not something I would ever think would become a best seller or anything. I played this to get a challenge, but even the hardest difficulty wasn't that hard, I think it's one of the easiest "hardest" difficulties I've seen in a game. Also fun fact, the main character of this game is voiced by Robin Atkin Downes (Kazuhira Miller in MGS) and every time he talked he kept throwing me off, I thought Big Boss was about to show up any minute ? (I looked on imdb and the voice actor of the old guy you escort is Colonel Campbell lol, but he has a russian accent so I could never tell, is this a secret MGS sequel or something ?) Yeah idk, I guess I shouldn't have judged a book by its cover, that's all boys, cya next time.

Popular Post TraumaticChain6
#59: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 8,5/10 Rarity: 11,36% If you love horror games and you have a VR headset, I really recommend to play this game with it. RE7 has a great cast of main characters that I really hope to see in next RE games. It also has some really great scenes which I didn't see coming. I really liked to explore the Baker house and uncover the back story from the Bakers through files. The game has also some good jump scares which with were really effective while playing in VR. Also what they did with the 'Don't tell Aunt Rhody' song is simply awesome The madhouse difficulty has also some changes that made it more intense to play it and put me more on edge. But thanks to the cool unlock you get from the speedrun trophy, it was manageable. The game is not perfect though The game starts really slow and you cannot skip cutscenes making it a little slog to replay it. But once the game opens up it's a great joy to replay it. Also the loading screens are really long (especially when starting and completing a tape). There is also a part at the end of the game that was not so fun to play through. I also would have loved to have some more puzzles but that is just personal taste. Also don't buy the season pass at full price. While the dlc is fine it's not worth the full asking price. #60: Crypt of the Serpent King (EU version) Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Rarity: 53,83% So I tried the demo of this game like months ago while my younger brother and sister were watching. We made jokes about the game and my sister wanted me to buy the full game to make more jokes about it. The game itself is not bad. You go through a randomized dungeon collecting keys and slaying enemies. With the keys you can open the gate to the boss and end the level by defeating him. While killing foes you also earn experience points and collect gold. You can upgrade yourself (although I did not notice any difference by doing that) and buy new weapons. There are seven levels and every level has a new enemy type and a new hazard to avoid to get the key. There are some problems with the game though. Level 2 is the hardest level in the game (on every difficulty) thanks to the broken hitboxes of the enemies in that level. And they decided to let you the fight the boss of that level in a really small cage. The jumping feels really off, so every jump I held my breath because I did not know if I jumped over the lava or in the lava. The music also starts to get real horror like in the later levels. That made me actually scared that something strong would pop up to ruin my day. All trophies are for completing the levels on easy, normal or hard but they don't stack. Making you play through the game three times. Not that it's a long game, every level can be beaten in like 10 minutes even on hard. I can see why people will find this game boring and tedious. There is not much variation in the gameplay and completing every level 3 times can be boring. But I did play like 1 or 2 levels after work so it was not to tedious for me.
Popular Post FeralTurtle
#43: Final Fantasy VII Remake Wow, just wow. To be honest I'm not a hardcore FF7 fan like many others (I only played it a few times long after it came out), but the remake made me like FF7 so much more. I think the biggest things I liked about this game were the acting, the animations, the music, and overall presentation. Actually the game was good at pretty much everything, I could hardly find anything to complain about, but even if there was who cares 'cause this game is literally an epic masterpiece. I still don't know exactly why they made it episodic, but at 96 hours that's pretty damn good for a game that's part of a series, can't wait to see part 2! Popular Post Desmuria
#278 & #279 - Epic Word Search Collection Quite Big Collect all the trophies Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Playing games like this make me grateful that the POWGI games exist when I want to do puzzles. This game is a hot piece of garbage (but yes, I still played it twice). Instead of doing individual puzzles, the four "collections" are on four massive grids and it's annoying, to say the least. If you like word searches (or any other puzzle games like this), stick to the POWGI games. Trust me on this one! #280 & #281 - Guard Duty Platinum Guard Get all other trophies Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 I love point-and-click adventure games, so I immediately bought this when it was released. It's... okay. The story is suitably bizzare enough to keep you engaged and the puzzles aren't too bad. There's a lot of backtracking involved: walking at snail pace through different scenes just to get one item then return the way you came. The spider puzzle (without a guide) would be mildly infuriating! I doubt I'll ever play it again, because there are much better offerings out there. If you like point-and-clickers, I highly recommend The Wardrobe, Detective Gallo and/or Bear With Me. #282 - Oliver's Adventures in the Fairyland Platinum Hero Obtain all trophies Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 with God Mode (8/10 without God Mode) Oh boy! I knew they put God Mode in for a reason and I'm so grateful that they did. I really did try to complete this game legit, but I caved and ended up having to activate God Mode. If anyone managed to complete this without the cheats enabled, I salute you. If you like a challenge, this game is for you. Don't even be ashamed if you resort to using the cheats. I'm pretty proud of myself for getting as far as I did before I gave up. #283 & #284 - FoxyLand 2 Platinum Team Foxy Get all other trophies. Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 3/10 I played the first FoxyLand game at the end of last year and really enjoyed it. The sequel steps up the difficulty and adds a boss fight into the mix. The boss is frustrating as heck and I died again and again and again trying to beat it. Not only that, but I had to beat it twice for the stack. Besides that, the game is pretty simple. You need to complete 20 levels to get the platinum. If you don't mind a small challenge and like platformers, play the FoxyLand games. #285 - Telling Lies All Done Unlock all trophies. Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 1/10 This game is going to be a frustrating one to review due to potential spoilers. Just like The Complex, The Bunker, Late Shift, etc - this is an interactive "movie" of sorts, or a "desktop thriller"... You play the role of Karen who has access to video footage that you can watch, bookmark, tag and search from. The story follows David and the (many) women in his life and his past unravels the more you watch and research the subject matters. There are 170 different videos to watch in total, along with some miscellanous trophies, like playing Solitaire. It's incredibly well acted and the story is so indepth, I felt really overwhelmed by the end of it (in a good way!) Telling Lies is a spiritual successor to Her Story, which I hope it gets a PS4 release too.
Popular Post DamagingRob
#447- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Ace Attorney Trilogy Get every trophy. Step into the shoes of Phoenix Wright, attorney at law. Who kinda feels more like a detective. You talk to people, gather clues, and then point out the contradictions in court statements to inevitably find out who the real killer is. This is mostly presented in visual novel form, and there is very little spoken dialogue. In fact, there's none other than yelling "Take that!" or "Objection!" There's a little more to it than a standard visual novel, though. When investigating, you're able to change areas and use a magnifying glass to find clues. You move it around the screen with the left analog stick, and it changes color to yellow when you hover over something worth inspecting. Then in court, you "press" statements for more info, and present evidence that it contradicts. Presenting the wrong thing results in a penalty, lowering your health bar. A Game Over happens if you lose all your health, and you'll have to load your last save. The second and third game will introduce a new mechanic, where witnesses will have locks only you can see. Only by breaking them with the right evidence, will you get them to spill the beans. You'll receive penalties for presenting incorrect evidence here, too. But I don't think you can get a Game Over. It just forces you out, and you have to restart the sequence. A portion of your health will be restored after. It's a very wild ride, too. You'll meet a lot of really crazy characters, and there's some supernatural stuff. I mean, when you have toupees being thrown, a woman whipping everyone in the courtroom, and coffee cups being dumped on Wright's head, I don't think you can take it too seriously. I took a handful of screenshots, so I might as well share them. This clown was ridiculous, though I like the Fresh Prince reference: Spoiler Please no : Spoiler I found Patient Zero of the Corona: Spoiler The story is very good, with so many twists and turns. I don't want to spoil that part, but you're in for a good time. After playing and highly enjoying these ones, I'm hoping the rest of them are given the same treatment. It did take me awhile to get through, though.. Not really a fan of multiple games in 1 trophy list. I probably would have spaced these out more, otherwise. Kinda had trouble finding the motivation to continue, at times. Platinum image: Spoiler #448- Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight Dancing in Moonlight Obtained all trophies. Not a lot to say about this one. It was a pretty fun and easy rhythm game. Some nice tunes. A little harder to keep up with on the big screen, with all the notes appearing on the edges of the screen. Wasn't much of a story to it, unlike P4DAN. Which I knew ahead of time, but I liked that about P4DAN. Mitsuru was my favorite character, and her Burn My Dread remix was probably my most played song.
